Inaccessible Main Toolbar in JDev 903

Hi,
I just installed the latest auto-updates for XP from Microsoft and after rebooting, JDeveloper seemed to have reset itself - layout gone and the overall base font is different. This didn't seem so bad until I realised that I cannot now access the main toolbar as is only 1 pixel high, docked between the menu bar and the document bar. If I select and deselect it from the View menu, sure enough, it appears and disappears - but it is still only 1 pixel high!
Nothing I try seems to fix this problem. Dragging, resizing, new layouts etc. Not even a re-install.
Anyone else getting this?
Thanks,
Karl

[more info]
I believe the two updates I installed to cause this problem were as follows :-
Q329115: Security Update (Windows XP) Automatic update
Q328970: November, 2002 Cumulative Patch for Internet Explorer 6
Time to talk to Oracle Support ...

  • JDev 10.1.2 main toolbar disappears after removing extensions

    Hi folks,
I have an odd problem that I like to fix rather than re-installing JDev 10.1.2. Recently I purchased a couple of extensions for refactoring and for diagramming. They didn't seem to work too well, so I uninstalled them. Unfortunately, when they uninstalled, they deleted/hid the main toolbar in the process. If anyone has had this problem before and knows how to restore the main toolbar without reinstalling JDev, please let me know. (Thanks.) If you also found that you really did have to re-install, I'd like to know that too. (Thanks again.)

    Shay,
Thanks for the response. It didn't work, but it did lead me to the ide.properties file in the same directory. I unzipped another copy of JDeveloper, took all the MainWindow.Toolbar.count and MainWindow.Toolbar.item* entries (there are 30 total entries) from that copy's ide.properties file, and pasted them into my copy of ide.properties. The icons reappeared and they seem to be working just fine. Will post back here if there are any problems. I do thank you for the post because, without it, I would have spent quite a while reinstalling and reconfiguring JDev.

  • Main toolbar not showing?

It is simple question. But frustrated me enough.
Why my main toolbar (supposedly consists of save icons, etc) not showing?
I ticked the main toolbar already from View-Toolbar-Main
It seemed to be folded, but I just cant unfolded it.
    Regards

Stop and exit Jdev before yoou do this.
    1. Go to Jdev installation home.
    2. Go to jdev/systemXXX
    3. Find ide.properties
    4. Delete this file
    5. Restart Jdev.
Should be working as it worksfor me.

How do I add the rotate button to the main toolbar for all users. I have a Windows 2003 Citrix farm with Adobe Reader 8. I can add it user by user but I want to add it to all users at once. All users need this rotate button,

  • How can I add Internet browser back/forward buttons to the main toolbar?

The developper of the software I'm testing manages to open
web-pages in a window within our software. We find this a great
feature, although it has one downside: no back/forward buttons the
users have gotten used to thru standard Internet browsers.
Is there any way to add these classic Internet browsing
buttons to the main toolbar of a WebHelp output? I've noticed them
on some other outputs (HTML-help if I'm not mistaken).
I've noticed some similar topics in this forum, but the seem
to discuss the browsing sequence buttons, which we find less
    usefull.
    Thanks for looking into this!

  • Fonts not showing up on main toolbar

I recently just installed Adobe Indesign, and no fonts are showing up on the main Indesign toolbar. I am able to type in the name, and the text will change to the look, but no font list is actually drawn up. (See first image below). However, when going up to the top toolbar (See second image), the font list can be seen perfectly. How can i get the list be seen on the main toolbar?

  • How do I remove the links underneath the main toolbar (most visited, latest headlines, news, Apple, etc.)?

I have no idea how to remove the links that are underneath the main toolbar (where the back and forward buttons are, refresh, etc.). I know they got there by either Apple default, or by me accidentally dragging something there. I have tried dragging them away, and they don't go anywhere. I tried dragging to the trash, etc.

That didn't help me. I am talking about the bar that looks like this the one in the picture. I know how to remove items from my bookmarks, but the items on this little menu/link bar are not all a part of my bookmarks, which makes me wonder if this is the bookmarks toolbar.

  • BC4J Tester won't run with SunJCE provider enabled in JDev 903

I have a working BC4J project that I can access via the Tester and via code in JDev 903. The Module is deployed in 'Local' mode.
I go into <jdev_home>\jdk\jre\lib\security\java.security and add the following line:
    security.provider.3=com.sun.crypto.provider.SunJCE
I can no longer run the BC4J Tester - I get "java.lang.NullPointerException" - that's it - in the log window when I try to run the tester. I can still access the BC4J Module via code, just as before enabling the SunJCE provider, its just the Tester that won't run. My code that uses the SunJCE provider runs fine.
I then comment out the new line in java.security, and the Tester runs fine again. (But, of course, my code that needs the SunJCE provider does not...)
Note that I added this provider as the lowest order provider - the following is how java.security is setup when JDev is installed:
    security.provider.1=sun.security.provider.Sun
    security.provider.2=com.sun.rsajca.Provider
    Any thoughts or ideas?
    Thanks,
    Jim Stoll
(I need this provider for something else I'm doing which uses both the SunJCE provider and BC4J, independent of each other)

    Hi,
Can you create a JClient project to test your application module? I have not found why it failed in Tester when using SunJCE privider, but found that if I create a simple JClient using the same application module, it work.
    Thanks,
    Yvonne

  • I was in full screen mode and now that I have exited, the main toolbar for Safari is gone.  So please don't say go to View.  Each time I click off of safari to the desktop, it shows me the Finder Toolbar.  I have opened and closed Safari many many times.

No no, if you read what I said, it would be that each individual display would be customizable to the user. The way you have it, it sounds like your second display will be dedicated to scrolling through fullscreen apps not allowing you to do it on the home screen. This is silly because with my concept, you could do that, by dragging apps to fullscreen in your second display, but if you want you could tell another display to scroll through fullscreen apps (independently) if you wanted. Each display will have it's own mission control with it's own set of desktops. I also can see how some people would still want them linked together, so this could just be a little check box made in mission control prefs to "link" or "unlink" desktops with link checked by default.
With your solution you're limited to your setup. but what if the person has three or four displays? Well then your solution would limit them to one dedicated display that scrolls through fullscreen apps where mine lets a person customize their desktops depending on their preference and setup.
further example: if you have safari, address book and mail in one display, you could still have ichat, PS and Illustrator in your second, and a text editor, FTP Client and iTunes in your third. Then you would mix and match these apps but it would promote the use of mulitple displays as well as benefit people with three or more, which thunderbolt, Cinema Display and Pro computers support.

  • Hide/Change "Help" button from the Main Toolbar

    Hi all,
I would like to know if there is any possibility to change the URLs displayed when clicking in "Help" button from the Main Toolbar.
I think that it is not possible so that is the reason I was also asking the the "toolbar ID" in order to hide the button through "Toolbar customization".
Thank you very much in advance!
    Regards,
    Laura

    Hi Laura,
We can change the URLs displayed when clicking in "Help" button from the Main Toolbar.
In System Properties please mention the URLs to which you want these links to point:
    Documentation - system.help.url.buyside
    E-Learning - system.link.community_url
    Community - system.link.elearning_url
    Guides - system.link.guides_url
Also you can customize the display names of these by changing the Localized Resource values for below
    common$common.top_links.documentation_link.name
    portal$portal.channel.help_center.training
    portal$portal.channel.help_center.community
    portal$portal.channel.help_center.guides
    Hope this helps!!!

  • Unable to start jdev 903 with redhat 7.3

    I tried

    Any idea?

    Hi,
Well see and thank you for the answer: Java 1.3.0_02 is not working in my system.
Other versions of java work fine but not this one. But the way i made a mistake: the system where i installed jdev is running with RedHat 7.2.
I have reinstalled java 1.3.0_02 with no more success.Could it be a problem between rh 7.2 and this version of java? In this case is it possible to use jdev with another version of java. I tried jdev 902 with java 1.4 and remember running into display problems.
    Thanks
    Oscar

  • CS5 Fireworks - Main Toolbar Icons Disappear

I had a hard disk crash and once the HD was replaced I reinstalled Fireworks.  Ever since the main toolbar icons disappear whenever I try to use the main toolbar... very frustrating!  When I grab the toolbar and move it around I can see the icons but as soon as I drop it the icons disappear.  Any ideas on how to fix this?  I have downloaded installed the latest upgrades.

You can just drag things out of the dock and they will disappear. Those are only aliases or shortcuts, anyway, and very easy to replace. Just open your applications folder and drag the Word program's icon into the dock to create a new shortcut, then do the same thing with the Skype icon.
EDIT Be sure not not stop enroute to the dock, or you will just move the program to wherever you let go of the mouse button.
