Inaccurate Journey Times - N95 Maps v3.0

When driving to a destination, I sometimes use a personally preferred route at the start of my journey that is different to the Nokia Maps route. This results in an increased calculation of journey time. However, as I am usually taking a known short cut, this actually results in a shorter journey time. As the journey progresses, Maps then does a progressive ongoing adjustment until it has the right arrival time. This correction can be as much as 10-15 minutes on a one hour journey. Is this a known bug in the currect version and has anbody else had the same problem?

This is actually a fact of life with all sat nav sav systems. I use a few sat navs regularly including a Garmin Nuvi and the BMW iDrive sat nav. It is normal for sat nav's to predict higher journey times. Maybe because they make some kind of allowance for traffic etc. The predicted ETA corrects and gets more accurate as you drive.

Why can't I search my Address or Current Location and then save this as HOME or say my Start_Point_01?
I have managed to save my HOME as a PEOPLE LOCATION and my friends address etc and worked out
how to plan a route etc, BUT Maps GPS POSITION thinks I live 20 miles away??
I dont seem to be able to simply set my HOME or Current Location myself,
I have seen some Satelite activity but insists I live 20 miles away :/ how do I fix this,
it's realy annoying. any handy tips people??
cant upgrade firmware as need phone plugged into wall socket

The least problems you'll have with miniDV cameras. About any miniDV camera will connect to a Mac via Firewire. HDD cameras are an open invitation to trouble, especially as you speak of older computers.
There are well-featured models out there now for 2-300 bucks. But watch out for cameras that connect to the computer via a dock. I had two Sony with these @#$% docking stations .... both docks broke and rendered the cameras useless for capturing. replacing the dock was nearly the price of a new cam.

IBooks, Mail, After Affects, Quick Time Player, Maps, App Store, won't open after Mavericks install/update

Just about everything on computer is slow as mollases after Mavericks Update. I am very angry because I can't use After Effects at all. It says it's not compatible with this new system. My mail application crashes as soon as I open it. Notification centre is non-existent now and Messages app won't open at all. Other apps such as iBooks, Mail, After Affects, Quick Time Player, Maps, App Store, and a few others won't open at all on this new system. I'm soo angry with Apple as I've never had so many problems with a new OS X. .. I would love to downgrade back to Mountain Lion OS. Anyone with helpful info, please respond. Thanks.

Audio and time re-mapping

I'm trying to speed up a clip between keyframes, but the audio is not being effected synchronous to the video. I've searched the adobe site, and it helpfully informs me that this will happen, but offers no solution. Is there any way to either speed up an audio clip between keyframes (perhaps in Soundbooth), or to separate the audio and video that I might razor out the bit of audio that correlates to the sped up portion of the video?

As you've found out; if you use the time re-mapping effoct; audio gets igmored; is not remapped.
Typically in video that is significantly time distored, the sounndtrack is a separate soundtrack; so this isnt a problem.
If you need to keep the original audio in sync with the time remapped video; here isa crude work around. Its not perfect.
Disconnect the audio track from the video track. (unlink)
Do youd time remapping to the video track
The result will be your video track will be longer or shorter that the audio track.
Use the time stretch tool in the toolbar to time stretch the audio clip to match the same length as the video. Note this will mke the audio have a single speed, which likely isnt matching how you ramped the speed on the video clip. But it will start and stop at the same time. Alternately; razor the audio a few places to try toadjust the spped with the video

N95 map for iran

I have a nokia N95 cell phone. It had built in map for middle east countries including UAE, Qatar and Iran. Recently I have downloaded new version of Nokia Map software from Nokia website directly to my phone but unfortunately after installation of that version, all map detail information especially for Iran has been deleted and I couldn't restore it even by using Nokia Map loader (Nokia Map Loader doesn't have Iran Map).
Does everybody have any comment to recover initail map details?

N95 Map

Hello
I have N95 and I want to use Map features but wihout sattelite, is it possible to use it? I have downloaded the software of MapLoader to my PC THEN I connect my device using USB cable and select Turkey map to download. I did it. It was 21 MB and it took almost a hour. After all this application, How I can see the Turkey map inside the my device without GPS and Internet? Does it possbile? Please help me about this matter if anyone knows?

You should be able to use the maps still without and connections...
Search for a location, or browse the maps using the * and # to zoom in and out...
It should still let you plan routes, and simulate the journey, it just won't do the automatic turn-by-turn directions as you drive.

N95 Maps - bug or fault on me???

I just got my N95 couple of days ago and I must say I just love it:-). I haven´t noticed any bugs or faults on the phone so far. It´s been working very nicely. But when I go to MAPS it sais: "Network usage disabled. You can enable it from application settings."
I have tried to change settings but I haven´t really found the right settings - I guess. I have been to applications but there isn´t anything to change that would fix my problem. Anyhow, I can start the Map- application although this sentence will pop up every time I will go there.
If someone could help me with this I would be really greatful.

If you open maps, get past that message and goto options>settings>network change the option in Network to "when needed"
Beware though of data transfer though, as depending on what you do or if you have a map already in your phone if will attempt to download maps, voices etc
Data transfer through the network in most cases means £££, unless you choose wlan...

N95 maps application changed post update

Hi -
Having updated the firmware on my N95 this week to 11.0.026, and downloaded fresh maps, I notice that the layout of the Maps application has changed.
Whereas before I could find my GPS position simply by using a 'find current GPS location', (or similar - can't remember exact wording), this option now seems to have disappeared.
Now I am faced with the dreaded red cross next to the satellite icon and no obvious option to start a simple search for a satellite and locate my current position
I can find my position etc using the GPS Data option in tools successfully.
Have I missed an obvious way of locating a satellite in the updated maps app or do I need to fiddle with settings?
I should say that I'd used the Maps app with no issues - speed aside - before the update.

Yes - reading back through other posts it may be to do with my provider (o2 - UK); I'm going to look at this when I get home - problem is I use a Mac at home!
I'll have more time to look at at those AGPS settings there at least - the location of the settings described in that link you sent me sounds like it may be from an updated firmware set-up.
If you get any other ideas let me know - but thanks - you've been very helpful.

N95 Maps Confused

hi,
I am using N95 on 3 network. when I first started Maps it asked me to download something and I did, then I got voice commands without paying anything all I did was select purchase. The problem is that sometimes it shows me the route with voice commands and sometimes it ask me to upgrade or purchase and sometimes it ask me for connection.
My question is, do I need a GPRS to use these maps in the future?
and why it plays voice commands on and off?

If you go into Options > Settings in Nokia Maps application you can set connection to "never" instead of "when needed"
Active connection is needed for Assisted-GPS feature for faster establishment of location and also to download greater map detail for a full postcode search. You could however plan a journey whilst a WLAN is available to download any further detail without GPRS download data cost.

Well, so it seems that a lot of people have problem using the maploader on WinXP to get those maps on their N95s.. I'm one of those.
I'm a software developer myself - I know that those problems can arise, be complex and cost time to solve. But it seems that Nokia simply doesn't care as I don't see any FAQ entry for this problem - the only source is this forum.
AT LEAST tell us a possible workaround. Give us a way to save those maps to the harddisc and tell us where to save those files on the memory card.
I've got up-to-date components (firmware, pc suite, map loader, drivers), I tried with the connected phone or via card reader - it simply always ends up with the same result, the error about the interrupted connection described by various posts.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not angry, I'm just really annoyed by the way Nokia helps his customers with this highly acclaimed feature - I paid much money for the N95 - I don't want ending up buying tomtom or route66 again..! I even would pay the navigation fee (which by the way surely was never mentioned when reading about the GPS feature)..
So, if you can't provide loader updates in time, just tell us a workaround - where to get the maps/vocals and where to put it on the memory card, that's fine for now..! please!!

So I managed to know which .zip being downloaded via Maploader (modem connection ) using the %temp%download_temp% run command (thanks limdul !)
Then I downloaded it again directly through http://static.s2g.gate5.de/maploaderzip/0.0.7h/ (thanks jtremaine !) because it was much faster and because Maploader isn't operating through my location's proxy.
Now the problem .... Nokia Maps now only shows the globe during the loading percentage status bar. After 100%, the screen goes black and then goes directly to the city level; no more fluidic graphic transition from the globe level to the city level! Even if I zoom out, I no longer have any geographical imageries ... all the zoom out levels half way and all the way to the globe level are gone. Even when the on-line update is on, nothing happen.
In a desperate effort to restore my dear Maps to its old fluidic graphic transition from the globe level to the city level I deleted the SD's \Private\20001f63\diskcache folder, restored the last backup, restarted the phone, downloaded the latest Maps, the latest loader .......but nothing helped

Only Able To Add One File At A Time From Mapped SharePoint (2013) Drive to Outlook (2010) E-mail

I am using SharePoint 2013. I have mapped several network drives. When adding files off SharePoint to an Outlook email, I can only add one file at a time. I can add multiple files IF they are not on SharePoint (e.g., stored locally, or on Dropbox); Previously,
when using SharePoint 2010, I was able to upload multiple files.

Hi,
There are two methods to add multiple files from SharePoint library to outlook emails:
Sync SharePoint library to outlook via “Connect to Outlook”, then you will find SharePoint Lists in outlook. Locate the library folder, you could select multiple items and drag them to an email.
Open SharePoint library via “Open with Explorer”, then you could selected multiple files and drag them to an email.

Logging start & end time of map execution

Hello,
I want to log start & end time of execution of my map (OWB 11g), so I've created a table for this purpose and I used it in every map that I want to log time, twice; First for logging start time, and second for end time.
I pass a constant with SYSTIMESTAMP value through my log table and also name of my map. but the problem is, both of my records' time (start & end) are very near to each other (difference is in milliseconds!) however my map takes time for more than 2 minutes! So, I've changed my map Target Load Order to: [log table for start time] + [Main tables of my map] + [log table for end time]. I've set my map Use Target Load Ordering option True, too.
Why it doesn't work? Is there any better solution for logging every map execution time in a table, or not?

To do that, I have created a view that lists all processes that are running or finished. The view contains fields:
process_name
process_type (plsqlmap, plsqlprocedure, processflow, etc)
run_status (success, error, etc)
start_time
end_time
elapse_time
inserted
updated
deleted
merged
You could insert into your log table using select x from this view after every map, or, how I do it, is to insert into log table after every process flow. That is, after my process flow is complete I then select all of the details for the maps of the process flow and insert those details into my log table.

First import the RFC FM by selecting import of RFC and IDOC supported button at SWC level and then provide the necessary R/3 details and get the RFC FM imported to IR .
Once this is done you can have a drop down list for the selecting the source or target message for mapping

Lightroom 4.2: Wrong time in map module

In Lightroom 4.2 I use the map module in the following way:
1. Load a gpx-Track
2. Select one or all tracks
3. Select the photos to be tagged
4. Select the correct time zone shift (normally the time interval of the track contains the time interval of the photos)
5. Tag the selected photos
Now all photos are tagged correctly. But there is one small bug:
moving the mouse along the track displayed in the map does not show the local time including the time zone shift but the UTC without time shift. This is somewhat confusing. I think this bug should be removable easyly.
