Inactive plug ins java

I have always been able to play certain games that use java, but all of a sudden I get a message stating "inactive plug-ins" and the pages won't load. Help! I've done everything I can think of.....already reset Safari, emptied cache', and installed updates.

No idea, but you might want to see if you can use Firefox for this instead. If you're up for it, and it might be risky, since your banking site might be vulnerable to hacking (and using Firefox won't change that), you can also try editing the XProtect meta.plist. You're on your own with this one.

1. How do I activate the Inactive ones?
2. How do I know which ones are missing? Where do I get them?
The Apple store recently installed Mountain Line (which I hate). Don't know if that had anything to do with it or not.

'Inactive Plug-in' response for java 7. I'm running mountain lion and the latest version of java. How do I enable the plug-in? I have been able to revert to java 6, but this open source software I'm using says to use java 7. Also, the coupon clipper website my wife uses no longer allows her to print coupons without java enabled, unless I go back to java 6. Thanks, Ted

If you need to re-enable an out-of-date version of Flash Player, you can do the following:
    1.    Navigate to the /Library/Internet Plug-Ins (Disabled) folder.
    2.    Drag "Flash Player.plugin" into /Library/Internet Plug-Ins.
    3.    If the browser is running, quit and restart it.

The newly discovered zero-day flaw in Java 7 is so serious that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has warned users to disable or uninstall it, and Apple has disabled the Java 7 plugin on Macs through its OS X anti-malware system, in order to protect users from a potentially serious security issue.
You should disable Java (if not already done) until either the US Department of Homeland Security, or Oracle, declare it safe and Apple restore the facility. Javascript should not be disabled (it has nothing to do with Java).

Man that is an ancient message.
The last time I saw that was using Mac clients connected to a Microsoft (Windows) Server running 'Services for Macintosh' which included the ability to act as an AppleShare compatible file server. Because Microsoft have a different security system for defining accounts which includes the 'domain' as well as username, the standard Mac AFP client did not know how to send that information.
Therefore Apple made it possible to installed a plugin in the form of a UAM or User Authentication Mechanism which added the ability to send this information to login to the fileserver.

However Microsoft have long discontinued 'Services for Macintosh' and now the only way for a Mac to connect to a standard Windows Server is via SMB not AFP. I don't believe this plugin is available to download anymore.

copied over Mylyn, Subversion and a few other
required plug-ins.Any chance that someone who has succeeded in getting subclipse working under ALBPM Studio 6 could post the details of the workaround (copying jars etc.)? I'll post if I'm successful, but until then a little help would be great.

Can anyone confirm which version of Java, or any other plug-ins or downloads, will need to be installed on a Webi Client (running on Windows 2000 and XP).

XI 3.1 WebI client (applet & Rich client) runs with JRE 1.6. No other plug-in or download is required (besides, anything necessary to run the client is installed with the BOE client install, incl. required JRE).

Jim, that sounds like a good hypothesis. Yes, I am using smart previews. I have my originals on an external drive which is connected. Still, LR can not find them. Do you know how to tell LR where to find the originals? I would like LR to identify the source automatically: if external drive is connected LR should show "original and smart preview" not only "smart preview". Thanks for your help.

Plug ins screen says I need to update Java, and when I do I'm told the install was stopped

The Plug-Ins screen tells me I need to update Java. I click update and everything is fine until the install. I am told that 'the install failed because it was interrupted before it could be completed'. Java says that I am running the latest version, Version 7 update 51, but Firefox says I need to update. What gives?

Long story short, you do not need to update.
