Inactive transformations

Hi
We have few inactive transformations in prod due to some other reasons.Is there any way where we can activate them through a program or function module in production itself without client open.

i think there is no tool to activate transformations.
Better activate them in Dev and transport into Production.

Goto SE11 there check the following table RSUPDINFO.
Here Using Object status field u can identify the active update rules.

Active vs. Inactive Transformations

HI,
Just wondering the reason for inactive transformations (white ribbon)? Why would you have inactive transformations? Do inactive transformations get executed, or only active transformations? Also, I'm seeing an inactive transformation based on a data source that no longer exists. Why would someone keep this as part of the data structure in RSA1?

1. Inactive Transformations:
     There are many reasons, to have inactive transformations -
     If the target infoProvider (either DSO, InfoCube or master data attr , text) has been changed, meaning if you add any new field to any data target and activate the target. This will result in inactivation of transformation and also DTP will be inactive.
2. I'm seeing an inactive transformation based on a data source that no longer exists?
     This should not happen, when you delete the source (in your case the DataSource) then the transformation is automatically removed.. since there is no connection between the two (source and target). However, I shall advice you to verify the DataSource and check if it is still in use. If not, then you can delete the transformation and also DTP associated with the same.

Some times while transporting objects into Productions, transformations getting inactive.
In that case to activate transformations, we will retransport inactive transformations or we will open the Client ( very rare cases) and makes the inactive transformation to active in the system.
For this shall we write a progarm to make inactive transformation to active version in production.
Can you please provide ideas how to start this.

i think might be the order of objects are not moving in sequence. while moving objects please make sure the order and this can be avoided.

Change of Infoarea causes inactive transformations & DTPs!?

Hi all,
what I'm trying to do is simple to move one DSO object from one InfoArea to another one. The result is that I do get inactive transformations and DTPs from and to this DSO object in the following system!
Is this a system bug? Did anybody also encounter this problem? (I guess I once had this issue with another customer and we opened up an OSS message at SAP but it's some time ago and I'm not anymore aware of what the result has been...SAP OSS doesnt provide any notes so far...)

What do u mean by in the following system ? After moving DSO to another infoarea, if u transport that DSO alone, then the related transformations and DTPs become inactive. Its quite common.
U should collect related transformations and DTP along with DSO/Cube.

Inactive Transformations and DataSources in Production System.

Hi Experts
We are working on BI 7.0 engine within Solution Manager.
We had some issues with DataSources initially while transporting BI Objects from Devp to Prod. We logged it into OSS and followed their procedure to redo the transports.
In the process, the issue was resolved but 2 New Transformations are created one for each Data Model (since I have only 2 InfoCubes) automatically and is the working model now.
Actual Transformations from Devp became Inactive in Prod and also there are 2 Inactive DataSources which are also from Devp. 2 New DataSources are again from Devp.
When I tried to Delete these unwanted Objects from Prod (I asked the Basis to Open Prod for me though this is not the best practice), it is asking for a Request ID. Also, since the Project has Gone Live already, I am scared if I might disturb the Production System.
Kindly, advise what best could and needs to be done.

Initially, we implemented BI-HR module with standard content, which 3.x content (transfer / update rules)... in parallel we also did transformations & DTPs (BI 7.0 model).
Since, client wasn't sure with conversation of transfer rules (has lots of routines) to transformations & DTPs . So we transported both the models to prod sys... We created daily load process chains with transformations & DTPs... The actual plan was, if PC loads fails, then to go for manual loads of 3.x model...Fortunately 7.0 models was successful...
Then one month later, we deleted those transfer / update rules and 3.x datasources from prod sys, on the weekend (process chains runs only week days) without any issues...
We captured those deletion requests and deleted them from SE09 by unlocking them in SE03.

Inactive Transformations and DSO

   After recent system patching ,i see lot of Transformations and DSO's gone inactive ,this is weird.

Inactive transformations and DTPs after running BDLS

Hi Experts
I ran the BDLS job, Restored , Activated and Replicated the S.S.
Some of my transformations and DTPs got inactivated . Does any body have any clue of why this happened.
My observations was when i restored it gave an error message " Error 2 in RFC_VERIFY_DESTINATION " although the S.S check says OK and i am able to do loads and during replication process of S.S it was saying " Function module /SDF/AL_MAP_TRANSID_LOGH does not exist." I am not sure if the above errors/observations have any link to some of Transformations and DTPs getting inactivated while the rest of DTPs are active.

I am also faceing same issue after BDLS - source system change to BIQ, All DTP's are still assined to OLD-Logical system.

Transformation Transports inactive

Hi All,
I am transporting some Transformations using Transport Connection and selecting only necessary objects. The first import fails with RC 8 and the following:
Unknown error from the Transport Organizer
Error while activating transformation
Error when activating Transformation 0FI5WAZTHGV66TREPIY6ABUQIKF8028S
When I re-import the request, it completes with a RC 0, but the Transformations are left with 'Active version does not exist' ie inactive.
We've applied SP8.
Any help greatly appreciated.

We also faced the same problem. Delete the Inactive transformation in the target system and move the new request(only transformation )again.

Determine transformations of webservice?

Hello All,
We have created several web services from rfc's. These run well. Now we have done an upgrade for our development system (from CRM 5.0 to 7.0) and the web services return errors. After analysing the error, we found that this is due to inactive transformations. (they are "flagged" as active in the system though) After activating the transformations, the webservices work well.
Now, in development we tested our processes and with trial and error we determined all relevant transformations, but because these transformations were generated automatically during the webservice creation, there names differ on all systems (development, acceptance and procudtion) and we aren't able to logically determine which transformations belong to a certain webservice.
So my question is: If we have a webservice, how do i determine which transformation objects are dependend? Where do i find the relation between a webservice and it's transformation(s)?
Does anyone have a hint on how to do this?

Sorry this was a way when the WS is created via ESR.
Ok when it is a FM :
When you create a WS from FM -> you need to sepcify a name of the WS and package. Find your web service -> F8-> F8 -> Goto -> Request Transformation and you will see the name and the ST

Transformation Change / Display Error

I have an inactive transformation that I am trying to display or change. The transformation is to load a PC file into a cube.
The system returns this error message when I try to display / change: "The object name is not allowed to be empty, Message no. R7105".
Any ideas how to get around this? Is there a program to activate a single transformation in the background?

Try applying [OSS Note 1266603 - Re-importing into source system deletes routines & formulas|https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=1266603] to your BW environment and attempt to change/display the Transformation.
If that doesn't work, follow the instructions on [OSS Note 983036 - Transformation: Error analysis for generation errors|https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=983036]. You're basically going to deactivate, temporarily, the Transformation abort logic so that you can analyze to find which Rule ID has no code in the generated ABAP program for the Transformation, and allow you to resolve that issue.
We had this occur when we upgraded from NetWeaver 7.0 to NetWeaver 7.0 EHP1 (or NetWeaver 7.01). There were about 5 Transformations that I had to do this to. It worked beautifully, but hopefully you won't have to do this and the first OSS Note takes care of the issue.

You can give the date for the past 3 yrs and fill the setup table.

The RDA concept has been implemented in BI 7 . This is to get the real time data from the source system for a regular interval of one min or more than that .

U can switch between actual and planned mode and load data from source or enter the data in planned mode..

How to load the text to Masster data

Hi Experts,
I am not able to load the text for master data.
We have postal code(0POSTALCODE) Master data InfoObject , in this we have field called Prizm, it's 'Z' field (ZPRIZM).
I would like to load the description for this filed(text), for example we have 1 to 50 prizm code,for all the call the prizm code I need to add the description.
Postal code master data has flat file data load and it has attribute but not the text.
Can anyone help me out in this.

ZPRIZM is attribute of Postal code master data InfoObject , As you advice to click on With Text check box, I clicked on that I am able to see the text table name as /BI0/TPOSTALCODE but When I am checking the object, I am getting the warning message.

Transport process chains

Hi all
Please list out the steps to transport process chains from QAU to PRD.
We have all hte infopackages,DTP's,infoobjects int he production.
Now we need to transport ProcessChains.
Intransport connection->Grouping option?collection option?

Hi Harikag,
The problem that you are facing is most often faced when the transport is made from DEV / QUA system to production system. This occurs more often when objects already existing in production are re-transported to production. Most of the times the corresponding transformation / DTP's get inactive. Nothing can be done as the the entire thing depends on way you transport the objects to production, only prevention is possible or else you need to apply the cure :). Don't worry as this is common scenario during transports. Try activating the transformations manually or you can try to re-transport objects in correct order. Please check the below thread, it will help you to find out the programs that can be used to activate the inactive objects manually.
ODS and Transformations get inactive after i transport it in PD.

Also in case you are transporting a chain then do remember that the start variant of your Metachain & all the local chains if any should be for future date else the chain starts to run automatically once the chain is moved to production. Once the chains are moved then you will need to manually change the scheduling option as per your requirement i.e main or metachiain for the required time & local chains with "start using a metaching or API option". This point should always be remembered during a fresh transport for a new process chain.
