Inadvertently combined two different cameras same date folders

I accidentally combined my Canon 30D 2011-12 folder with my Hp 850 2011-12 folder, now one camera's images show missing, and so does the folder for the missing images. Since they have all been keyworded and developed, how can I recover the appropriate ones back into the right missing folder? Thanks for any help! Jennings

Darn, I forgot to say that the folders and images are still intact on the hard drive. It seems to be only in LR 3 that they have become scrambled. I tried to re-import them again, but it recognized that they already were in LR somewhere. I was hoping that they would just re-establish contact and let me move them afterwards, but to no avail.

Two Different Cameras, Same Timeline and Sequence

I am filming with a Sony Z7U and a Panasonic GH1. I use 1080i 30p for the Sony and FHD (which is 108024p) for the Panasonic. I am looking for some advice on exactly what works best and what gives the best outcome for these two units when I Log and Transfer, Easy Setup, and Export using Quicktime Conversion. After that is there any particular Compressor setting I should use to burn to DVD using DVD Studio Pro.
Any help and thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Well it's 1080 30p but on the LCD it says 1080i HDV 30p. I think for what I'm doing, I'm going to capture everything using HDV 720 30p. I don't need 1080 and i am somewhat disatisfied with the Panasonic quality in low light on 1080 24p. So I will use the other setting which is 720 60p and then capture it 720 30p.
I film weddings, so I'd rather have the faster frame rate for low light and moving shots. I can bring the film look back slighty with the capture settings an color work.
Anyone else with settings?

Just import them normally and sort the project by date. They will fall into place. If you tried this and it isn;t happening then make sure the data and times on the two cameras are identical and make sure you are sorting by date and time and nothing else.

Lightroom not merging and sorting images from two different cameras - help please !!

I need some help here. I've just imported a few thousands of images form two different cameras, however Lightroom simply sorts them by camera only. (i.e.. images from the first camera, all sorted by capture time, then come images form the second camera.)
The cameras are the same brand and model, times are synchronised, but the images refuse to merge and sort. I've tried putting them in the same folder and importing, but that doesn't do it either. I've been doing this for years and it all worked fine, till today. Does anyone know whats causing this, and how I can fix it?

View > Sort > Capture Time is checked, The cameras are in sync down to the second, and images from both have been merging and sorting fine for over two years, till today. Sort order is all set to capture time in all modes and views, but its still sorting first by camera.

For anyone following this thread, I've found a solution to my problem. Turns out that a cute widget called FishTank appears to be the culprit. With it running in Dashboard (even when I don't see Dashboard) the Screensaver and Sleep functions don't work. I turned it off, not because I'm clever, just because I tired of it, and voilà, Screensaver and Sleep are now working. It can stay in my widgets list without any problem, it just can't be turned on. I'm going to delete it anyway, however.
Hope this points the way to solutions for some of the rest of you!

Importing and editing footage with two different cameras

I am editing a film that has footage caught and imported from two different cameras. Some of the footage is from a handheld HD camera that I have worked with before and use an "Easy Setup of Apple Intermediate Codec, 29.97 fps, HDV Apple Intermediate Codec 1080i60." I want to add some video footage that I shot with my Canon Rebel t2i. I searched a number of threads and concluded that when working with a project shot with the t2i, I should have the the Easy Setup be "HD, 29.97fps, DVCPRO HD 1080p30" (side question: is this correct?). My question is when starting a project where I will be using footage from both cameras, what Easy Setup should I use and is there anything else I should keep in mind?

I am brand new to FCP, having previously worked a fair amount with FCE4. I actually do have FCP 7 and work with it on my Macbook Pro. My handheld camera is a JVC Everio that captures in AVCHD (1920x1080). I had my Easy Setup in FCE4 as Apple Intermediate Codec. If I use footage from this camera in FCP7, should I continue to do this?
So not only am I new to FCP7, but I just bought the T2i and really am not totally sure what I am doing yet. I just got the Canon EOS Movie Plug-in and modified it according to some threads I read so that it works for the T2i. I also found directions on the Canon website on the proper way to Log and Transfer for T2i footage (side question: can I dump the files off my T2i onto an external HD and then Log and Transfer them into FCP7 from the external, and is there anything I need to know about when doing this?)
So now that you know that I am very knew to FCP7 and the T2i, maybe I should start from scratch. When I log and transfer, what format should I use when I transcode? ProRes 442? And then, however you suggest I should transcode, what should my Easy Setup look like for footage from the T2i?
Wow, if you are still reading at this point, and I haven't exhausted you with all of my questions and naivety, my final question is...once I have become comfortable with importing and editing footage from the T2i, what should I do if I want to log and transfer and then edit footage from both cameras? Do I need to change the Easy Setup? Do I need to make other changes?

Lightroom and two different camera types

I can import CR2 files from EOS 5D Mark II but not the ones from EOS 600d. Is it possible that Lightroom is not importing CR2 files from two different cameras?

Two different Cameras premiere E4 questions

Please help! I recorded my friends band and I used two different cameras to do the recording. One stationary recorded a wide shot of the band and the other mobile I had with me. I used the mobile one to do closeups then used the audio and video from the wide shot and did clips of just the lined up video of the mobile one. It looks great! So what is the problem. Well a couple things, I am using Premiere Elements 4. How do I save this project at a high resolution for the web (YouTube) also how do I save it to burn it to DVD?
Finally the really tricky question, the one camera was shot in widescreen format the other full screen. I would like to be able to crop and enlarge the full to make it a wide. I don't want to make the wide a full if I don't have to, because it will crop out band members.
(I don't really understand the whole picture/pixel/ratio thing)
Keep in mind this was my first shot at something like this I am trying to get down the actual technical process and I have Ideas of how to approach the shooting aspect in the future to improve it. For YouTube settings, I'd go to the FAQ sub-forum, found on the right-hand side of the main forum page. There are suggestions there. Note: YouTube will re-encode whatever you upload, and they change their requirements monthly, if not sooner.
Now for the Widescreen vs Standard question. I assume that you used WideScreen, when you set up your Project. Is that correct?
First thing that I would look at would be to use Interpret Footage for the Standard Clips. Do one first, and choose 16:9 in Interpret Footage. How does this look? Only you can make that call.
If the band looks too fat, then we'll move on to Plan B. Go to one of your Standard Clips, and Select it. Go to Effects, and then Edit Effects. Look for the fixed Effect>Motion. Twirl it open and then go to Scale. Increase this, until the Frame fills the width of the Frame. This will also effectively Crop the vertical. If you need to alter how that Crop is seen, go to Effect>Motion>Position, and move the Frame up, or down to suit.

How do I edit together two different camera angles in iMovie '11?

I've just started using iMovie '11 to put together a little concert footage of my band. I've got two videos of the same concert from two different angles. One is in front of the band and one is next to the drums. Obviously, the video next to the drums has louder audio. Is there a way I can edit these to videos together with iMovie '11 and mix together the audio as well?

If you do a lot of this you may want to try Final Cut Pro X. However, it is quite possible in iMovie. In FCP X, there are tools for automatically aligning the clips from the various cameras and audio sources, and it is fairly straightforward to then cut between cameras as part of a compound clip.
Here is how I did it in iMovie.
I recently did this for a video of my niece's senior voice recital. (Video is below)
The key is to use the Cutaway feature of iMovie. If you are not familiar with Cutaway, here is a good tutorial from Ken Stone.
I had three audio possibilities. A CD recording, the side camera audio track, and the back camera audio track. I decided to use the side camera audio track with heavy use of muted cutaways from the back camera. So I used the side camera as my base clips, and used the back camera as the cutaway clips. I decided the CD recording had too much noise even after fixing in Audacity. And the back camera audio track was OK but had too much coughing and noise.
Here are tips for getting it lined up perfectly.
1) In iMovie/Preferences make sure that you check "Display Time as hh:mm:ss:frames" so you can edit to the frame level. (Also, select "Show Advanced Tools so you get the Cutaway feature)
2) In the iMovie Project View, set the thumbnail slider to 1/2 second so you have a great deal of control.
3) Initially, leave the volume at 100% on the Cutaway track, so that both tracks are playing. You can hear when they are off.
4) Click the "Waveforms" button in the Project view, so you get a visual cue of how to line up the tracks.
5) Between the audible cues and the visual cues, you can nudge the cutaway back and forth one frame at a time by dragging until you have it perfect.
6) When it is lined up to your satisfaction, set the volume slider of the Cutaway track to zero, and turn off the waveforms. You can also move the thumbnail slider back to 5 seconds or so.
7) For some of the fine work, I switched to the "single row timeline view". This slows you down a bit, but lets you see the waveforms more clearly.
8) I made heavy use of the iMovie Comment Marker feature. I watched the whole base video/audio track and inserted comment markers at the points where I wanted the Cutaway to begin and end. For example, a comment might say "Insert Cutaway 1". I would usually time the cutaway so it started at a distinct audio event, such as when the piano start. This comment marker made it easy to drag my cutaway to a point that was approximately correct.
9) If you need to do a lot of cutaways, I find that it helps to use the SPLIT CLIP command in your project. This way you can have a single cutaway per clip, and this makes it easier to manage and is less processor and memory intensive for iMovie. I would use the comments to mark the entry and exit points of the cutaway as described above. I would then select that portion of the clip that included these markers plus a little more, so that a yellow border is around the selection. Then right-click/SPLIT CLIP (or CLIP/SPLIT CLIP in the top menu). This does not physically splt the clip within the Event. It only virtually splits the clip in the project.

Can I combine two partitions without losing data on one?

So if I have two partitions on one hard drive can I combine them without losing the data that is on one of them? If not, could I just do a time machine backup, combine the two partitions, and then restore the time machine backup? Would that work?

If the other partition was created with BootCamp it can be deleted in Bootcamp and merged back into OS X.
It might be possible to rename the partition "BOOTCAMP" in Disk Utility and formatted MSDOS to trick Boot Camp into thinking it is a Bootcamp parititon and merging it back into OS X. (haven't tried this so I don't know if it works or not yet) I would first make a clone below before attempting this method.
TimeMachine restores are fraught with problems on these forums.
What I would do in your case is use another equal or larger sized (than your primary boot drive), blank, Disk Utility HFS+Journaled formatted, external powered drive to Carbon Copy Clone your OS X boot partition to it, then Disk Utility > Repair Permissions on both (you can ignore the list that shows).
What this does is gives you a "hold the option key" bootable clone, which while booted from it, check it out first and then use Disk Utility to completey (select the hard drive name) format the entire primary boot drive (HFS+ Journaled of course).
Then simply CCC back onto the primary boot drive. Then run ALL of OnyX's maintainence and cleaning aspects and reboot. Speedy machine here we come. (note: Cloning optimizes the drive by the order of the alphabetical order files in the Root Level, leaving "Users" last where the most change and slowdown in drive performance occurs, OnyX cleans out the caches and rebuilds Spotlight, more performance)

The new version of CCC has gotten a bit more complicated, including a archiving of files changed from between updated clones, however the default settings are fine for your first time clone to a blank drive. So all you really have to do is select the "From" and "To" drives and click Clone.
Clones are wonderful, it's a exact copy of whats on your primary boot drive, so far in the many years I've used clones everything has worked on the same machine, everything.
TimeMachine drives are not bootable, leaving you stuck if your hard drive dies or you can't boot from the OS X install disks.
You can first make a clone so you have that method, then c boot off the 10.6 installer disk and use TimeMachine that way to restore to the newly formatted drive (use Disk Utility under the Utilities menu, second screen in) I haven't tried this myself, prefering clones instead as it's less headaches.
Remmeber to ALWAYS have two backups of your data at all times, (erasing your drive leaves you with only one copy) in this case you would have a clone and a TM backup, in case one method fails (less likely the clone), then you got the other method.

How to combine two datarows (business component data) in BI Publisher

We are using BI Publisher in Siebel Environment.
We have data coming from two business components (like from 2 diff tables)
a) <?for-each:ssTest1?>
b) <?for-each:ssTest2?>
ssTest1 and ssTest2 are the business components
We need to combine these 2 datarows (a&b) and show the data into a single combined data row for ex like <?for-each:ssTest1ssTest2?> and show all the fields in that.
I'm not sure how we can combine these two data rows into a single combined data row and show the data.
Any help from any one would be apprecated.

Merging(Align) two different point cloud data in Kinect Fusion

I am now working in kinect fusion point cloud align from two different sensors. Here is the code,

The api doesn't return a point cloud. The intent of the volume api is to integrate point cloud data into the internal reconstruction of Fusion. By calling the api, it will provide a Matrix that you can then multiply the points by to align the two.
If the intent is to get a merged point cloud, then you might want to look into a point cloud library PCL.

Two different users, same contacts, calendar, etc.

Howdy everyone! I need some help. First, I consider myself fairly smart when it comes to iOS products, etc. so I've tried to mess with this on my own before reaching out to those that are smarter than me.
First, I upgraded my wife's phone and my phone to iOS 8 last night, seamless process.
We share the same contacts and calendar so we've always have used the same icloud account.
Main reason is so that we can share contacts, calendar, etc. We also share the same itunes account so that when we purchase an app or a song, etc. it's on all our devices without having to purchase it twice.
Now, with the new family sharing this isn't an issue.
My question is, well many questions are, now it's giving me troubles. It thinks my phone is my wife's phone and "find my friends" aren't working. It says "can't share location with yourself".
Also, I'm not opposed to using two different iclouds because we have family sharing now, but it's imperative that we see each others location for safety concerns, contacts and calendar.
I can't figure the best way to set this up to fit our needs.

Organizing by "time" from two different cameras?

In LR I know one can take say 1000 images that were shot by two different photographers and then adjust or set it to arrange all the images by time taken- thus not file name.
Is there a way to do this in Aperture 3?

Or you can arrange them by 10 other criteria, ascending and descending.
