Inbox Contact Display

I have a contact list that I keep carefully formatted and orderly, and would like incoming emails from people on the list to display in my Inbox using the contact names I've assigned, instead of
using the nicknames they've assigned for themselves for outgoing email.
For instance, say there's a friend [email protected] named John Smith. If he sets his outgoing emails to use the nickname of "Leet John" but I have him in my contact list as "John S", how do I make sure it shows up in my inbox as an email from "John S"?
I'm asking because I'm very anal about how things are organized on my computer including email.

i think its all conatcts? I'll try texting off some other numbers. If it is just some and therefore a duplication of the contact where would it have duplicated it to? Its not copied to the sim, there is only one copy of everything on the phone, and nothing in any friends folders etc. could it have copied to the memory card - i cannot find any way of saving contacts to the memory card.

Contact display name problem

Since upgrading to ML I'm having a problem with contact display names in Mail. When I go to compose an email, some contacts have a problem. EG for "John Smith" email [email protected], I type in smith and autocomplete. But Mail displays "[email protected] Smith" as the name. When I look in Address Book the contact card for John Smith is formatted properly. Any ideas?

2100 SMS messages is a lot ! On a Series 40 phone you will be lucky if you get more than 400 messages in your inbox.
I think you should ask your question in the smartphone discussion /discussions/board?board.id=smartphones as the behavoir you describe is something not seen on normal (S40) Nokia phones.

Has anyone had a problem with their contact display on messages?

I have turned off other contact groups, but when texting I get all groups displayed when I search for names. Not only this, some of them seem to have downloaded name info from sender! I also now get some email contacts displayed in text name line. Very odd! Never had this problem before update.
I can't seem to find a way to switch this off. Somehow seems to be an iCloud mess up.

I am running Windows 7 64 bit, IE8, Dreamweaver CS4 and all is fine and identical to how it was under Vista 64.
So whatever the issue is, it's probably resolvable.

I am new to BB. i have been using my curve 9300 since 2 weeks. i am having trouble with contact display. when somebody calls me my bb does not display his name. it only shows the calling #. but in log it shows complete name as saved in contact. any body know what this is all about n how to solve it.

There could be any one of four solutions... Try these:
1. Make sure you set your own country code at Phone dialer Screen > Options > Smart dialing.
Set your Country Code in this format: "+xx" where xx = your country code. Some countries have two or three digit Country Codes. Do not place the '+' in your contact's entry.
* In the US, set this Country Code as "+1", and place your local area code in the proper box (this normally the default setting in a new BB).
2. At the same location, change the National Number Length to the number of digits for your country (since some countries will have less than 10 as set as the default in the BB). Find out the total digits, minus the country code. Do not place the '+' in your contact's entry.
* For example, some countries have a total number to 8 (plus 3 for country code). You would enter "8".
3. You may have "Content Protection" set on your Address Book.
OS5 devices: Look at Options > Security > General Settings. Scroll down to Content Protection > Include Address Book = NO.
OS6 devices: Homescreen > Options > Security > Encryption > UNcheck the box next to Encrypt.
4. Go to Options on your device > Security Options > Encryption > Include contacts set to "No"

Failed to process inbox; contact your administrator

Hi All,
I have created Service Order Application which is explained in help.sap.com. As per the scenario i have created
2 tables ZTR_ORDER_HDR and ZTR_ORDER_ITM ,
2 Nodes ORDERHEADER and ORDERITEM under ORDER Standard Data Object,
3 BAPI Wrappers ZTR_ORDER GETLIST*, *ZTRORDER_GETDETAIL and ZTR_ORDER_MODIFY,
finally i created Mobile Service Compopnent and Mobile UI Component for Handhelds using NWDS.
Application Deployed Successfully, after launching the simulator it is showing empty table (with out data).
I tried to sync but Device not registered error coming.
I created the same application using Mobile UI Component for Laptop, after launching the MobileWebdynpro Client it is showing Deployable Components. When i click on Process Now button Failed to process inbox, contact your administrator error. But Synchronization is successful here.
one more thing i am not defining any Distribution Model Category and Rules. when i checked in sdoe_wd tcode data is showing in CDS tables.
Pls advise me anyone what i missed in the above scenario. What i will have to do next.

Contacts Display Order bug

From iOS 4.0.1 to 4.2 GM is problem with display order (contacts). When I restore new firmware on iPhone (3GS, 4) and I set in Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars > Contacts Display Order > Last, First and I go to Phone>Contacts, Contacts still are displayed in First,Last format. To resolve this problem I have to go to background and close "Phone" and when I go to Phone again contacts are displayed correct. Sorry for my English I am from Poland.

Using your "edit" feature you should have no problems in listing your phone numbers in the order you choose. For example, all of my contacts have "home" listed first,followed by "mobile", etc.

N95 8GB SMS contacts display

Just got my n95 8GB today and it's awesome, but i'm having trouble with contacts in the inbox -
what happens currently is when i get a message in it displays last name, first name - ie Smith Bob, instead of Bob Smith
Does anyone know how to change this so that it doesn't happen?
I've tried changing the settings in the contacts list but it doesn't seem to help.

There is no setting for it unfortunatley...
The best way to cure this if it really is an issue ( although time consuming) would be to swap the names around in first name last name i.e.
First Name: Bob
Last Name: Smith
Shows as Smith Bob in SMS
Make it
First Name: Smith
Last Name: Bob
Shows as bob Smith in a message...

Nokia N9 Wrong Contacts Display

Hey guys, since I updated my N9 to the latest firmware recently (PR 1.2 30.2012.07-1.249.1_PR_249) it has been displaying contacts incorrectly when I send and receive messages. For example, when I send a new message and pick someone out of my contacts list, they appear correctly under the subject line. When I send the message however, the message shows up as a conversation in my inbox with a completely different contact. This also happens with some incoming messages - it has gotten to the point where I am afraid to send messages for fear of messaging the wrong person. What the hell is going on! Is there another update to fix this?

Hi, I also have this issue ever since I bought the N9 and its driving me insane. I have only updated once to version PR1.2 30.2012.07-1.235.3_PR_235. I turn the phone off three or four times a day to try and fix it and this works to a point but always reverts back to the same issue. Only certain contacts get mixed up with their various messages and notifications of voice mail come in sometimes on the +101 from message bank when it is actually just 101. The message bank number always mixes up with anyone Ive rceently been in contact with via text. Some contacts seem to be completely free of this problem though. Ive deeleted all numbers with a +61 in front of it in my contacts but this has not worked either. Can anyone help?

Contacts display first name, last name, except if there's email address then contact info is deleted (?) and email is displayed in contact list.

My contacts should list first name last name, however any contact with an email has info phone numbers and addresses deleted and the email address is displayed in contact list. I know how to change to last name first name but that doesn't help... Any suggestions? Should I delete all contacts and reacquire all through icloud? How?

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

Overnight, text body of emails will not display for messages in inbox-only the from and to and a subject line displays. Draft messages in Ipad display fully. Inbox emials display fully on my main Dell computer and my Iphone. Any ideas? Duanekot

See if this helps .... Reset the iPad.
Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears - ignore the red slider bar - let go of the buttons and let the iPad start up. Then check your emails.

Contact Display problem in my BB Curve 9220

I recently bought a BB curve 9220. When someone call me at that time caller name not display (Caller Name already added in my contact) only caller number displayed.
In short sometimes Caller name display and sometimes not display.

Outlook 2007 Contact Display

I have recently noticed that Outlook is not showing address info on a single contact card display. The data is still there as it shows up on mass display of contacts. Any solution/reason for this anomaly??

Meanwhile, we may try to exit Outlook and then restart with /cleanviews switch to see the result. To do this, press Windows key + R to open the Run command, type
outlook /cleanviews and press Enter.

just recently bought ipod classic 80gb and i would like to know how do you display "company name" on ipod's contact. All I can see is the name and the position only and cannot see the company name.

Contacts Display and Sort by Company Name

I have over 1000 contacts in Outlook which synced wonderfully with my new iPhone.
Alas, I need to lookup and sort by Company Name. This is a VERY standard method for contacts. The options presented by iphone are first and last name, sigh and tech support had no suggestions and the helpful tech support genttleman could find no 3rd party applications which could help.

I have noticed something useful when entering contacts directly into my iPhone. When entering a contact that I want shown in the list by the company name, I enter the company name first (without entering the "first name" and "last name") and save it. If you do it that way, the little square where the photo would be will change from the blank head to some buildings, and the contact will be listed by the company name. You can then go back and edit to add a first and last name and it will stay listed by company name.
However, if you enter the last name, first name, and company name all at the same time it will list the entry by the "last name" instead of by the company.
For example, if I want my son's doctor's office to display as "Arizona Pediatrics" instead of "Dr. John Smith" in the contact list, I would enter the Arizona Pediatrics first, save, and then go back in and add the Dr. John Smith in the last name, first name fields.
I need to check the manual to see if this is detailed, as I stumbled on it accidentaly, but it's pretty useful.

TS3899 How can I get my inbox to display more emails in IOS7?

My inbox using IOS 7 only seems to display emails from about 7 days ago. I know I have older emails but I can't seem to view them on my iphone. Can anyone help please?

Start by running your page through the validator:

You have some elements which are not nested properly such as scripts running outside of the head and body, required attributes missing, tags missing opening or closing, a <br /> tag in between </td> and <td>. Then you can ignore the stuff about Flash because the Adobe codes for Flash and Spry never seem to validate. Some of the other errors at the bottom like no </body> tag can be ignored because they are there, it just means there is a tag not closed before the end of the body so it generates an error saying the body was not properly closed. The lines below that with tag mismatches will help you determine what is and what is not closed.
If you get that done and still have errors please let us know what browser/version/error you are having an issue with.
