Inbox error in Nokia 2730

Hi
I bought my 2730 classic August 2010.
Since then I've had some problems with the messaging. Every time I go claim the warranty, however, the error disappears
This is what happens.
I'm messaging on my mobile and sending and receiving messages normally.
I open a message and go to reply.
While in the editor, a message is received.
I finish off my reply and send it.
When I return to my inbox, however to check the new message, it's not there and the icon for message is adamant.
Moreover, there is some old message at the start of the inbox (as 1st message) which is some deleted message of a long time ago. (This message is constant. It's some kind of a picture message I received from a friend and it was of a format my mobile did not recognise, so I deleted it. I can't understand how it keeps coming back. There are two such messages.)
I turn off the power and turn it back on in a few seconds.
I go back to inbox and there is the new message.
This has been going on for a long time and now even the warranty is at an end.
Somebody please tell me what this is all about and if there's a solution, as it's annoying and time consuming.
Thanks in advance.

Try to empty your inbox and sent folders in messaging again next go to messaging again select options then go to sim messages if there is anything in here remove them too.

  • Internet problems with Nokia 2730 classic

    Hi
    I recently bought a Nokia 2730 classic (on Orange PAYG). I'm able to browse most websites using the phone's browser. However, when I attempt to access Gmail, I get the following error: Secure connection not available. I get a similar error when trying to set up my email in the 'messages' section. I also get this error when I try to log in to Twitter - the common factor seems to be that they are https pages.
    I'm also unable to use the Nokia Ovi store. Whenever I try to download anything, it will reach 35% before saying Download/Install Failed. I'm guessing that the two problems are related.
    Does anyone know how I might be able to resolve either of these problems? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers.

    ovi store uses prefered access point wether you set it to be used or not.
    Some operator have different access point for different purpose. Eg, prepaid customer have different access point and post paid customer have thier own too. And if you have unlimited data plan your sim may use different access point too.
    One of my freind is using same model. When settings are configured mannually, network doesn't allow connection. Preferred access point which operator has sent, was meant for postpaid customer with data plan but my freind is using prepaid sim. So the problem is setting or ovi which is not smart enough to use defualt configuration, it tries to use preferred access point even it is set to 'no'
    Better contact SP wether they can sent preferred access point for your need

  • Nokia 2730 and iSync?

    I'm interested in the Nokia 2730 from Three (in the UK), for £80.
    However, I cannot find if it is supported in iSync (or if there's any 3rd party software)...
    Is it? Will address book, and calendar synching work? What fields, specifically?
    Thanks!

    That's awesome!
    Do Sony Ericsson's support MS Exchange AS?
    Anyway, I tried out how the Nokia 2730 - with the Three (3) network - in a few Phones4u.co.uk stores (because the Three.co.uk stores don't have it in stock yet):
    _1st store_ - the phone was very laggy to start up, moving in menus (even the intial menus to set the time). Most functions took longer to complete than on my old 6230i. Viewing the Applications menu took very long, sometimes it would stop to load for 10-20 seconds!
    _2nd store_ - the phone did not turn on! The seller couldn't demonstrate it. Tried charging it, no response. Faulty handset.
    _3rd store_ - the phone was pretty much just as laggy as in the first store. Same problems.
    I highly doubt that Nokia would release such a poorly functioning handset! It must be the terrible Three software that's installed on it. Nonetheless, that has seriously put me off buying it.
    I contacted www.novamedia.de and they got back to me they actually have a plugin for the 2730, but said that:
    There are some problem with Nokia Series 40 5th Generation phones and synchronization over iSync (SyncML Protocol). These mobile phones just can not process and send the data to the Mac. That is why if you'll get the error message during the synchronization or the phone just stopps to send any data, then just try to start the sync for 3-7 times.
    and
    Generally there are no problems if you'll sync all your data from the Mac to the Phone, but not in other direction.
    The most new Nokia S40 phones just stop sending data after a few seconds and freeze... We've tried everything to find a workaround, but nothing helped. We know that there is a bug in Nokia firmware which is present in all S40 5th generation phones and in the most S40 6th generation.
    The phone's been out since May, so it's strange that such big bugs wouldn't have been fixed... seems that it's just how the phone is. Thus, the iSync functionality is also flawed.

  • Nokia 2730 does not allow to use socket connection

    I recently bought a Nokia 2730 Classic, but I am not able to browse internet on this phone through the Socket connection, like how the other Nokia 2330 Classic can do.
    For the Nokia 2330 Classic, I need just put the SIM into it and start the phone, then go to the configuration and just select Internet APN as the Access Point and the phone will work fine with Opera Mini and other Java applications like Ebuddy, Bolt Browser etc through “socket” connection”, without the need to request the internet settings from my operator through SMS.
    But in the Nokia 2730 Classic when I put the same SIM into this phone and Select the same Internet APN as the Access point, I am not able to browse the internet on Opera Mini and I have to send SMS to my operator to get the settings.
    The main problem here is that even after saving the internet Settings of my operator on the Nokia 2730 Classic, the internet does not work on in the Socket Connection, hence Opera Mini 4.2 and 5.1 (and other java applications which need the socket connection) will not install or work. (although the internet will work on the default browser of the phone)
    I am also able to connect the Nokia 2730 Classic to the computer and browse the internet through Data Cable / Bluetooth normally.
    I tried with another operator using an internet data plan, but got the same results.
    Can someone please tell me how to adjust the settings correctly so that the Nokia 2730 will work on the Socket connection so that I can browse on Opera Mini 5.1 and 4.2 and other Java browsers and applications which work only on the Socket connection?
    Another strange issue is that after trying to use the internet on the Nokia 2730 (without any positive results), when I put the same SIM back into the Nokia 2330, the internet does not work for some hours on the socket connection and I have to use the http connection till then. Quite strange.
    Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    My problem is sounds to be somehow related to this. Actually, I do not have reference if the problem was already on SW version 9.41 (?), but at least after the firmware upgrade (v 10.40) I get the following message "Suojattu yhteys ei käytettävissä" ~ in English "Secure connection not available" when trying to open https links e.g. directly from text message.
    Obviously, the same problem happens with I try to download an application from Ovi. I am able to browse the applications in the service, but once trying to download/install the problem occurs.
    Opera is capable to open the https connection, but OVI does not support it => there is no way to install any application from Ovi. I have tried both Elisa and Saunalahti SIMs, but it seems not to be a settings releated.
    One note still in the firmware upgade: when doing it it first time, there was an error when restoring the backup. I made the firmware upgrade couple of times again and even so that I did not restore the backup.
    Could it be that the first time firmware upgrade somehow bricked the phone? I have also been wondering, why there is no settings menu available in Web section?
    Any ideas?
    BR,
    Mika

  • Nokia 2730 accessing email - suddenly defaulting t...

    I've been accessing email (Hotmail and gMail) through the 'messaging' function of my Nokia 2730 until last night. I went to sign into email, and the phone came up with a message that was something like 'Email already active', even though it definitely wasn't. Then when that stopped happening, the list of options on the email account screen suddenly included Ovi, which I'm pretty sure wasn't there before - previously it had been Yahoo, Hotmail, and gMail. My previous Hotmail and gMail addresses weren't there any more, and when I tried to access either email server, I just ended up on-line in some place I didn't recognise at all - the first screen was a list of countries, and then it went into what I can only assume is the Ovi site, as every time I quit out of there, 'Ovi' was selected on the email account screen, even though I'd selected either Hotmail or gMail. So it's like whatever I select, it just defaults to Ovi.
    Does anyone have any idea how I might fix this problem. I've tried removing the battery, and restoring the factory settings - although settings only, not 'all'.

    Which error message do you get? Which e-mail service provider do you want to use? Which network operator do you use?

  • Unable to install MAP Applictaion to my Nokia 2730...

    Dear All,
    I am having Nokia 2730 Classic, but while buying it there is no Map Application. While I try to install Map application using Nokia Maps loader its shows error message like this " You have connected atleast one phone ( Nokia 2730 classic ). Without a valid Maps drive. Either you have using an old Maps version - then you must update your Maps application or reconnect your phone in mass storage mode - or you have never started your Maps application - then you have to start the Maps application and restart Maps Loader. "
    Please guide me to Install Maps on My Nokia 2730 classic.

    Maps cannot be installed on a 2730 classic. The operating system of the phone does not support ANY installation of applications other than Java apps since it runs on s40. If your phone did not come with the Maps application preinstalled, there is basically nothing you can do about it but hope that the next firmware will have Maps app preinstalled.
    Also, Maps loader only loads maps on phones where there are already existing map applications. Furthermore, the phone you have does not have GPS nor A-GPS support built in.

  • Nokia 2730 Issues

    I have a nokia 2730 phone which i bought last year July 2011 but suddenly encounter a sim card registrastion failure error everytime I power the phone back on. Phone will boot up for a long time not like when i first have it. I tried to replace my sim card with a brand new one from Smart & also tried other network sims since i have an open line handset but still got same issue. I finally come to a point that i replace back the original sim card since the sim card works with other phones. Tried powershock & powercycle by removing batery while handset is on. Phone will show full signal/service for a while then shows the message again. Can anyone share some tips or info about this issue? Any troubleshooting or help will be appreciated. I love Nokia phones.

    Get the phone inspected at Nokia Care..may be some Hardware issue with the SIM Reader..

  • Why am I getting ExchangeWebServices Inbox Error: Error, ErrorServerBusy. The server cannot service this request right now. Try again later

    I recently switched my application that uses EWS from an on-premise Exchange Server to Exchage Online through Office356.
    The process worked just fine for several days, then I started getting the following errors;
    Error accessing [USERNAME] email account.; ExchangeWebServices Inbox Error: Error, ErrorServerBusy, The server cannot service this request right now. Try again later. -->
    This has been happening for the past 14 hours now.
    I contacted my Office365 support team and they acted like they had never heard of the Exchange Web Services API, so no help there.
    I can access the mailbox using the O365 web portal and I can access the mailbox account using the Outlook 2013 desktop client. The issue seems specific to EWS
    My program is a Windows service, written in VB.Net. It connects to EWS, goes to the user account inbox, iterates through the inbox extracting attachments from messages, then moves the messages to a saved folder below the inbox.
    I created the wrapper for EWS that I can reference in my project code using the following, run from an elevated VS2012 command prompt;
    wsdl.exe /namespace:ExchangeWebServices /out:EWS.cs https://outlook.office365.com/ews/services.wsdl /username:[email protected] /password:p@ssw0rd
    csc /out:EWS_E2K13_release /target:library EWS.cs
    I bind to EWS in my class, using the following code;
    Imports System.Net
    Imports ExchangeWebServices
    Public Class Exchange2013WebServiceClass
        Private ExchangeBinding As New ExchangeServiceBinding
        Public Sub New(ByVal userEmail As String, ByVal userPassword As String, ByVal URL As String)
            ExchangeBinding.Credentials = New NetworkCredential(userEmail, userPassword)
            ExchangeBinding.Url = URL
        End Sub
    The error that is logged gets triggered when my code makes a call to the following method;
        Public Function GetInboxMessageIDs() As ArrayOfRealItemsType
            Dim returnInboxMessageIds As ArrayOfRealItemsType = Nothing
            Dim errMsg As String = String.Empty
            'Create the request and specify the travesal type.
            Dim FindItemRequest As FindItemType
            FindItemRequest = New FindItemType
            FindItemRequest.Traversal = ItemQueryTraversalType.Shallow
            'Define which item properties are returned in the response.
            Dim ItemProperties As ItemResponseShapeType
            ItemProperties = New ItemResponseShapeType
            ItemProperties.BaseShape = DefaultShapeNamesType.IdOnly
            'Add properties shape to the request.
            FindItemRequest.ItemShape = ItemProperties
            'Identify which folders to search to find items.
            Dim FolderIDArray(0) As DistinguishedFolderIdType
            FolderIDArray(0) = New DistinguishedFolderIdType
            FolderIDArray(0).Id = DistinguishedFolderIdNameType.inbox
            'Add folders to the request.
            FindItemRequest.ParentFolderIds = FolderIDArray
            Try
                'Send the request and get the response.
                Dim FindItemResponse As FindItemResponseType
                FindItemResponse = ExchangeBinding.FindItem(FindItemRequest)
                'Get the response messages.
                Dim ResponseMessage As ResponseMessageType()
                ResponseMessage = FindItemResponse.ResponseMessages.Items
                Dim FindItemResponseMessage As FindItemResponseMessageType
                If ResponseMessage(0).ResponseClass = ResponseClassType.Success Then
                    FindItemResponseMessage = ResponseMessage(0)
                    returnInboxMessageIds = FindItemResponseMessage.RootFolder.Item
                Else
                    '' Server error
                    Dim responseClassStr As String = [Enum].GetName(GetType(ExchangeWebServices.ResponseClassType), ResponseMessage(0).ResponseClass).ToString
                    Dim responseCodeStr As String = [Enum].GetName(GetType(ExchangeWebServices.ResponseCodeType), ResponseMessage(0).ResponseCode).ToString
                    Dim messageTextStr As String = ResponseMessage(0).MessageText.ToString
                    Dim thisErrMsg As String = String.Format("ExchangeWebServices Inbox Error: {0}, {1}, {2}", responseClassStr, responseCodeStr, messageTextStr)
                    errMsg = If(errMsg.Equals(String.Empty), String.Empty, errMsg & "; ") & thisErrMsg
                End If
            Catch ex As Exception
                'errMsg = String.Join("; ", errMsg, ex.Message)
                errMsg = If(errMsg.Equals(String.Empty), String.Empty, errMsg & "; ") & ex.Message
            End Try
            If Not errMsg.Equals(String.Empty) Then
                returnInboxMessageIds = Nothing
                Throw New System.Exception(errMsg)
            End If
            Return returnInboxMessageIds
        End Function
    Since the code worked just fine for several days and then suddenly stopped working with a server busy error, I have to think that this is some type of limit or throttling by EWS on the account. I process several thousand emails per day, in chunks of 300
    at a time.
    But I have no idea how to check for any limits exceeded. I am nowhere close to my O365 mailbox size limit. Right now, there are over 4,000 messages in my inbox, and growing.
    Thanks in advance for any ideas you can offer.
    Dave

    All the API's EWS, MAPI, ActiveSync,Remote powershell are throttled on Office365 (based around what 1 particular user could resonably do). If you have had a read of this already i would recommend
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/jj945066(v=exchg.150).aspx
     You can't adjust or even find your current throttle usage so you have to try to design your code around living inside the default limits. If your using One Service Account to access multiple Mailboxes (or if that account is because used across multiple
    applications) that can cause problems. In this case using EWS Impersonation is good solution as described in
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/exchangedev/archive/2012/04/19/more-throttling-changes-for-exchange-online.aspx (this basically means the Target Mailbox is charged instead of the Service Account).
     Looking at the code one thing I notice missing is your don't appear to be paging the results of FindItems, also have versioned your requests to Exchagne2013. eg ". When the value of the
    RequestServerVersion element indicates Exchange 2010 or an earlier version of Exchange, the server sends a failure response with error code
    ErrorServerBusy. If the value of the RequestServerVersion
    element indicates a version of Exchange starting with Exchange 2010 SP1
    or Exchange Online, and the client is using paging, EWS may return a
    partial result set instead of an error"
    To Page FindItems Correctly you should use the IndexedPageViewType class and page the Items at no more the 1000 at a time eg something like
    IndexedPageViewType indexedPageView = new IndexedPageViewType();
    indexedPageView.BasePoint = IndexBasePointType.Beginning;
    indexedPageView.Offset = 0;
    indexedPageView.MaxEntriesReturned = 1000;
    indexedPageView.MaxEntriesReturnedSpecified = true;
    FindItemType findItemrequest = new FindItemType();
    findItemrequest.Item = indexedPageView;
    findItemrequest.ItemShape = new ItemResponseShapeType();
    findItemrequest.ItemShape.BaseShape = DefaultShapeNamesType.IdOnly;
    BasePathToElementType[] beAdditionproperties = new BasePathToElementType[3];
    PathToUnindexedFieldType SubjectField = new PathToUnindexedFieldType();
    SubjectField.FieldURI = UnindexedFieldURIType.itemSubject;
    beAdditionproperties[0] = SubjectField;
    PathToUnindexedFieldType RcvdTime = new PathToUnindexedFieldType();
    RcvdTime.FieldURI = UnindexedFieldURIType.itemDateTimeReceived;
    beAdditionproperties[1] = RcvdTime;
    PathToUnindexedFieldType ReadStatus = new PathToUnindexedFieldType();
    ReadStatus.FieldURI = UnindexedFieldURIType.messageIsRead;
    beAdditionproperties[2] = ReadStatus;
    findItemrequest.ItemShape.AdditionalProperties = beAdditionproperties;
    DistinguishedFolderIdType[] faFolderIDArray = new DistinguishedFolderIdType[1];
    faFolderIDArray[0] = new DistinguishedFolderIdType();
    faFolderIDArray[0].Mailbox = new EmailAddressType();
    faFolderIDArray[0].Mailbox.EmailAddress = "[email protected]";
    faFolderIDArray[0].Id = DistinguishedFolderIdNameType.inbox;
    bool moreAvailible = false;
    findItemrequest.ParentFolderIds = faFolderIDArray;
    int loopCount = 0;
    do
    FindItemResponseType frFindItemResponse = esb.FindItem(findItemrequest);
    if (frFindItemResponse.ResponseMessages.Items[0].ResponseClass == ResponseClassType.Success)
    foreach (FindItemResponseMessageType firmtMessage in frFindItemResponse.ResponseMessages.Items)
    Console.WriteLine("Number of Items retreived : " + ((ArrayOfRealItemsType)firmtMessage.RootFolder.Item).Items.Length);
    if (firmtMessage.RootFolder.IncludesLastItemInRange == false)
    moreAvailible = true;
    else
    moreAvailible = false;
    ((IndexedPageViewType)findItemrequest.Item).Offset += ((ArrayOfRealItemsType)firmtMessage.RootFolder.Item).Items.Length;
    Console.WriteLine("Offset : " + ((IndexedPageViewType)findItemrequest.Item).Offset);
    if (firmtMessage.RootFolder.TotalItemsInView > 0)
    foreach (ItemType miMailboxItem in ((ArrayOfRealItemsType)firmtMessage.RootFolder.Item).Items)
    Console.WriteLine(miMailboxItem.Subject);
    else
    throw new Exception("error " + frFindItemResponse.ResponseMessages.Items[0].MessageText);
    } while (moreAvailible);
    The support people should be able to help you as long as you can get past the first level. The EWS Managed API has a RequestId header that gets submitted with requests
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/exchangedev/archive/2012/06/18/exchange-web-services-managed-api-1-2-1-now-released.aspx . In theory they should be able to take this and then from the Logs tell more information about why your request failed etc.
    Cheers

  • Nokia 2730 on 3G

    Hello,
    I have a Nokia 2730 classic.
    On 3G, the maximum supported speed is 384 kbps. Right?
    I noticed that on 3G on this handset, the maximum speed is only 150 kbps (when connected via PC Suite for browsing internet).
    I called up my operator's customer care and they tried to help, but it did not work. Then I tried using the same sim on a 3G HSPA USB modem and got the expected speed of 3 mbps.
    I upgraded the phone's software to 10.45 but that did not fix the issue.
    Any suggestions to be made in the settings to correct the speed from 150 kbps to 384 kbps on the Nokia 2730?

    @slash_2184 where do you see that speed?
    In Windows, there is a pop-up telling your about the COM speed. That is just a fake message and can be ignored, nevertheless, it can be increased …
    Between the Internet and your computer, 150 kbit/s are actually very good! The 384 kbit/s are the speed between your phone and the network without any Internet protocols involved. As rule of thumb, in UMTS, you get half that speed as maximum throughput, the goodput …
    Furthermore, there are several UMTS network configurations. Some network operators give only one ‘channel’ 64 kbit/s, some give two 128 kbit/s and only a few networks give you all (384 kbit/s). Finally, you have to differentiate between uplink and downlink. Again, there are deployed a lot of combinations out there, like 64/384 or 128/384 or 64/128. At the end, EGPRS (EDGE) could be faster.
    If you want to use your phone as mobile data modem, consider to go for a phone with HSPA.

  • Can't get 10.47 on Nokia 2730

    Hi,
    I heard of some 10.47 update but I can't get it. It says no new software available. I am running 10.45.

    Well I have a strange problem, my parents sent me a Nokia 2730 classic phone from Brazil to me, when I check the firmware version (*#0000#), it displays v10.45, but when i went to http://www.nokia.co.uk/support/product-support/device-software-update/can-i-update and input my product code (that is 0594445), the site give me the v10.40 as the latest firmware available. (My phone isn't locked to any operator)... What is going on?

  • Spotify on Nokia 2730 ever possible?

    Will it ever be possible on my Nokia 2730?
    Or do I need to get an iphone?
    What is stopping it, limitations in the phone, OS, hardware? Or some implementation needed to be done to the spotify software?
    For those who have never heard of it, Spotify is wonderful Internet-streaming, and non-streaming (local audio files) musicprogram, where you listen to tons music, full albums for free, read interesting biography about artists, see related artists in a genre, read reviews of albums,etc.   Works like a charm on PC's, and it great that you can share your playlists with friends, and install it on multiple computers, so you access your music, playlists anywhere, etc at friends place, a party, where there is a PC with a internetconnection, and speakers of course.  I find it especially great if your into older type of music from the 80s,70s, 60s and most new music is available aswell. http://www.spotify.com/

    Thanx man!
    You clarified it for me alot. I guess there a cheaper options then.
    And saw this after googling java client spotify, quite interresting if these projetcs works/ gets finished, and could be possible be used as java app in budgets phones.

  • Internet browser for nokia 2730 classic is no long...

    My nokia 2730 classic is no longer browsing to the internet, what is wrong with it?

    ovi store uses prefered access point wether you set it to be used or not.
