INBOX indicates 4294967287 messages?

My (MAC) INBOX indicates that I have 4294967287 messages ..... how can I get rid of this erroneous message? (I have tried Rebuilding database to no effect ....

This means that the mail database is corrupted. Select the inbox and then rebuild the database by selecting Mailbox > Rebuild. However, because this may mean that there is also a hard drive problem duplicate the mail folder in /users/yourname/Library before rebuilding everything.

    If you select a mailbox, you should get an Edit button (easier to see in landscape mode). Clicking the button will provide you with check circles for the messages. You also get Delete and Move buttons at the bottom. Check the messages you want to move and then navigate to the mailbox you want to drop them into. I think as long as you can navigate to a mailbox you can move the messages to it.
    In the Mac Mail application and probably Outlook on the Windows side, you also setup rules to move messages to specific mailboxes. If the mailboxes are stored on the server, then you can have the sorting done on the server and they should appear that way on the iPad. If your later messages do not show up, you may need to have the iPad app pulled down more messages until they are all showing.

  • My Iphone 4 is downloading my entire outlook inbox including "read" messages.

    My new Iphone is downloading from my outlook account.  But it is downloading my entire inbox (even read messages) how do I stop it and just download messages from today forward.  I have over 6000 "read" messages in my inbox.  Do i have to delete each email individually on my phone?  It pulls 50 at a time.  Once I delete the 50 it pulls the next 50 and so on... 

    If the phone is able to download old messages it is because they are still on your server.  If you delete them off the server, the phone won't be able to download them anymore.

Otherwise you may have to check the mail archives in Gmail and Windows Live sites.   • Inbox and Sent messages are gone?

    Messages in both inbox and sent messages prior to mid-November of 2011 are gone. I had thousands of messages going back several years, and they're gone. I didn't delete. This is the case for both gmail webmail and for Windows Live. I have no idea what has happened. Is there any way to recover these messages? Thank you

  • Inbox only shows messages from today

    My inbox only shows messages from the current day.  The account it's sync'd with has more messages.  I don't have any filters in place and my memory isn't full.  I haven't played with the settings (until the problem occurred).  Any ideas?

    That is very low - only 1.1 MB of free space.  When the device gets too low, the Low Memory Manager starts deleting things like email, text messages, call logs, etc, to make room.

    And FYI - Delete Prior is good to delete items only off of your BB (prior to a certain date).  The items you delete that way will ONLY delete from your BB and will never sync with your client/server email account.

  • Inbox for ebay messages are crammed together.

    inbox for ebay messages shows messages crammed together (not double spaced, but half spaced). Is not this way using Explorer.
    On my ebay messages page, the messages are listed vertically line by line. But rather than being single spaced or double spaced vertically the messages are crammed together and very hard to read. I don't have this problem with Explorer. but I prefer to search with Firefox. Can you fix my problem?????????????????

  • Every time I move emails from the inbox to another mailbox, then click on any mailbox, and then go back to the inbox, the moved messages have returned to the inbox

    Every time I move emails from the inbox to another mailbox, then click on any mailbox (the emails are there fine), and then go back to the inbox, the moved messages have returned to the inbox. I have moved them out of the inbox to other mailboxes again and again, but then they keep showing up in the inbox again as soon as I click on any mailbox other than the inbox. Very frustrating.
    This has only happened since I installed Mavericks on both my Macbook Pro and my iMac. It happens on both of them.
    Any ideas how to fix it?

    This may be one of the known issues with Gmail and it's IMAP settings working with Maverick's Mail.
    It all comes down to if you have the ALL MAIL folder visible or not via IMAP.
    If you do not, then you get the behavior you are describing.
    If you do have ALL MAIL visible, then there isn't a problem.
    Odd, I know.

  • Inbox and Sent Messages Disappeared

    Started the mail program (v 4.2) and received a new email. Clicked on it and I'm not sure what happened but all Inbox and sent messages are now gone. Very strange. My iPhone shows all messages but the iMac shows none of them. All other mailboxes are intact. What folder do I use with Time Machine to refresh all of them?

    For some reason the account had been dis-enabled in preferences. Re-enabling has reproduced the messages. Very strange!

    I even uninstalled Mozilla and then reinstalled it, but apparently, that didn't work, as it found my account settings, instead of my having to reset them and I was right back where I was before.

  • Inbox full message when not full, repair Inbox but all messages gone & empty Inbox keeps thinking

    With an Inbox full message and couldn't download messages any more, I moved most messages to another folder under Archive but still get the same message. Reading from others' posts, I repaired Inbox but all messages there is gone and it keeps thinking forever. Tried compacting Inbox, it keeps thinking. Tried reboot and compacting (all) folders, it keeps thinking. Also deleted inbox.msf, which only one unused out of several email account's folder has, but no help. Sometimes when Inbox stops thinking, checking mail still gets Inbox full message. Wasted a whole morning already ... any idea please?

    reboot your computer into safe mode with networking to stop your anti virus interfering and then compact your folders etc.

    Yes, I do have mail rules. Disabeling them and rebuilding the mailbox didn't help much.
    The topics referenced by your links might have a relation to my issue.
    I wouldn't necessarily agree that this is an Exchange issue. It's the way Exchange does it
    l would argue if other none Exchange client can handle these messages (e.g. Thunderbird) why not Mail.app?
    I think the problem is probably more directly related to the Junk Mail handling in Mail.app.
    I have Mail.app set to move Junk mail to the Mail.app Junk Mail folder.
    Mails in this folder do not show up in my Mail.app INBOX but (of course) in the Exchange INBOX.

  • Cannot delete messages from inbox, cannot move messages out of inbox, message do not copy to "sent" or "draft"

    The following problems occur:
    - cannot delete messages,
    - cannot move messages out of inbox,
    - messages do not copy "sent"
    - messages cannot be saved to "draft"
    This applies to imap and to gmail accounts.
    The following has not helped:
    - compact trash and other folder
    - deinstall and reinstall TB 31.4.
    - archive profile with mozbackup and replace profile from archive after reinstall of TB.
    - deinstall and reinstall TB 31.3 downgraded
    - delete all folders and files with "trash*" in the file name (all IMAP)
    - delete all files of 1 mail account completely in the TB profile and resync from server (IMAP)
    This might coincide with these system changes:
    - upgrade to TB 31.4.
    - some of these email accounts were installed on ios8 iphone.
    Not sure if the problems had already started before these 2 occurrences.
    Any help is appreciated to solve this.

    What type of mail account is this (POP, IMAP, .Mac)? If POP, what are your Preferences > Accounts > Advanced > Remove copy from server settings?
    You may be able to get rid of those messages in Mail doing Edit > Cut (⌘X) (for best results do it with one message or just a few at a time), but you should remove them from the server first if they’re still there.
    Does this account allow web access? If not, you may find the Account Info window useful to solve this problem — choose Get Info (⌘I) from the Action menu (gear icon) located below the mailboxes list in the main Mail window.
