Inbox messages won't appear on Mail

My ymail account won't sync to my Mail. I'm on OS X. I'm not too sure what happened. All my other accounts like hotmail and another yahoo mail are synced and I can access my messages. I tried deleting the account but it's still the same.

it depends on how is your Outlook configured to fetch the emails. Do you leave them on the email server ? If not, then once Outlook has swallowed them, the Blackberry device can't see them on the server.

  • Random messages won't display in Mail

    Hi,
Using Mail 2.0.8 on a MacBook Pro 2GHz running Mac OS X 10.4.5.
Main account is set-up as IMAP. Recently, I began noticing that some messages will not display in Mail, nor will they be marked as read. The message shown in the preview pane is:
The message from <sender> <sender email> concerning “subject” has not > been downloaded from the server. You need to take this account online in > order to download it.
However, the account is online. All other messages received at the same time display properly. There are no characteristics common among or unique to messages that behave like this, at least as far as I can discern. Ultimately, without any specific actions, the messages will display properly.
If I go to my webmail account and read the message, Mail will update soon after to show that it has been read. So clearly the account is online, as Mail can send and receive commands to set the status. Still, the message will not display.
Has anyone experienced similar behavior, and have you found a solution?
    Thanks!
    Patrick

    Ernie, David, et al,
Perhaps I spoke too soon. I continue to have the same problem with Mail and my IMAP accounts, which are advancing beyond annoying. I am now considering moving to another email application, which is something I really don't want to do. Following is a brief update:
    * After moving the Mail folder and plist file to my desktop, restarting Mail and entering my accounts again, it worked properly for a short period of time. The behavior reappeared soon thereafter. (I had mboxes on my Mac, not on the server, and for some reason I cannot import them again).
    * I have a bad habit of using my email as a file system, so my inbox was huge. So I took the time to create a bunch of mboxes, file messages, and otherwise clean my inbox. It's now 1/4 the size it was. I'm also trying to habitualize dealing with email and attachments to either file or delete messsages when the come in (so far, so good).
    * When I get a message that exhibits this behavior, I can now Rebuild the mailbox and the message will show. Rebuild occurs quickly because my mailbox is so much smaller, and I've not lost any messages. The messages that previously would not display at all now display properly. However, I must Rebuild every time I receive a message of this type, which occurs several times per day.
    * It appears that messages with attachments display properly, but those without do not. It also appears to be highly likely that all the messages originate from an Exchange Server (I know this to be true of several clients, and others are very likely). I also know for a fact that many that I receive properly are not using Exchange Server.
    * Calendar invitations from Notes work as intended (show up in Mail as ICS files, notifications appear in iCal which allow me to set my status and reply); however, those from Exchange Server only show as text messages (and don't display until I rebuild).
It appears to me that the problem may lie, at least in my case, to how Mail handles Exchange Server items in IMAP mode, and not just an IMAP bug, but again, I cannot isolate this and be 100% certain.
    Will keep you posted.

  • Inbox messages won't always display

I am having trouble with my inbox that hopefully someone can help with.
    Backround Info:
    System 10.3.9 on a G4 mac mini
    Mail 1.3.11
I have several accounts set up, personal ones on one server and a work account on a different server.
I recently imported my work account with all folders from Quickmail using emailchemy. I have been using Mail for the other accounts for several months.
    My problem:
When I open mail, I can see my office account inbox messages. If I switch to any other folder, either a different inbox or a stored mail folder, to view a message and then go back to the office inbox I get the following for my already downloaded mail instead of the mail message.
The message from "*" <*@server.com> concerning “subject” has not been downloaded from the server. You need to take this account online in order to download it.
The account is online continuously. If I quit mail and reopen it, I can again read the inbox messages. This problem is only occuring in the office account with the inbox and not in the personal accounts or any stored mail folders.
All thoughts and ideas are welcome.
    Thanks.

This error message indicates an "overstuffed" mailbox issue which means the mailbox has approached or exceeded the recommended size limit or the mailbox has some corruption.
All email clients have limits and the recommended mailbox size limit for Jaguar and Panther Mail is 1 GB and for Tiger Mail, 2 GB.
An "overstuffed" mailbox issue can occur at any mailbox size but is more likely to occur depending on the number and size of message attachments contained in a mailbox and especially as a mailbox approaches or exceeds 1 GB in size.
This problem is more common with Jaguar and Panther Mail and has all but been eliminated with Tiger Mail which uses a significantly difference mbox format than previous Mail.app versions.
    On to resolving your problem.
With the Mail.app quit and using the Finder go to Home > Library > Mail > this POP account named folder (named by the user name and incoming mail server for the account) > INBOX.mbox.
Move the INBOX.mbox to the Desktop.
Launch Mail and a new INBOX.mbox will be created automatically by Mail within the account named folder. This will allow the Mail.app to function properly again while working on the old INBOX.mbox moved to the Desktop to recover the existing messages.
Control-click on the old INBOX.mbox moved to the Desktop and at the menu window that appears, select Show Package Contents.
Post back here listing the package content file names and size of each. I need this information to determine the next steps to take to recover the messages.

  • Messages Won't Appear on Device if Outlook Desktop Is Open

If my Outlook is running on my desktop, new emails won't appear on my handheld.  How do I get my messages to appear on my device when Outlook is running?
Once my Outlook receives emails that my handheld received earlier, the messages seem to disappear off the handheld device.

  • New gmail messages do not appear in Mail 5 inbox

I have a new Imac and trying to setup email accounts. My Hotmail account has no issues. My gmail account is struggling to put the new messages in the Inbox. The messages appear in the "all mail" down below.
Sometimes the messages will appear in the Inbox and then disappear. The next time I open Mail, the spinning marker will be beside the gmail inbox icon and then not load any messages in the inbox.
    Any suggestions?

I assume you are referring to folders you created other than main mailboxes.
Did you checked the Label Section in settings at the gmail site and the box to show in IMAP is checked.
Is IMAP and not POP is enabled in the Forwarding and POP section.
Repair permissions with disk utility and restart the computer.
If it isn't working now, try deleting one of the accounts and add it back in. When you add it back, make sure it is set as IMAP.
You could also create a new user for testing. Log into the new user and create the accounts there. Whether or not it works there will tell us whether or not it is a user account problem or not.

  • Mail messages won't load in Mail 4.5

After a seeming successful installation of Snow Leopard, my Mac Mail also seemed to update properly (4.5). All my incoming items are listed. However, after double clicking on any e-mail in the inbox, a window opens up with the title of the e-mail, but then I get a spinning-spoke "Loading." No content opens and the "Mail" won't close without a Force Quit. Same result with a single click and "Open" from the Mail file menu. E-mail messages succesfully sent.

    Some things to check:
Is the drive still plugged in?
Is the drive visible in Finder?
Is the drive visible in Disk Utility?
Is Time Machine still turned on (System Preferences > Time Machine)?
Is the Buffalo drive still selected as the Time Machine destination?
Assuming all those answer are "yes," look for Time Machine errors in the system log. (Search for "backupd" in the system log using the Console app in /Applications/Utilities; you may may need to log on as an administrator to see those entries.)

  • Inbox messages do not appear yet are loading

I have IMAP mail. My messages are loading, ie: I have 20 unread messages, however non can be viewed in inbox. Please help! I think I did this while I was reorganizing some of my other mailboxes.

OK. I don’t know what happened here, but it looks like deleting the account and setting it up again may be necessary. Note that the procedure I’m going to describe is safe because this is an IMAP account (i.e. not POP) and I’m telling you to make a backup copy of your Mail folder first, just in case. It could lead to irretrievable data loss otherwise.
    1. Quit Mail.
    2. Make a backup copy of ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist and the ~/Library/Mail folder, just in case something goes wrong while trying to solve the problem. You can do this in the Finder by dragging them to the Desktop while holding the Option (Alt) key down, for example. The former is is where all your account settings are stored, the latter where all your mail is locally stored.
    3. Open Mail, go to Preferences > Accounts, and take note of the account settings.
    4. With the IMAP account selected, click on the [-] button to delete the account, then on the [+] button to set it up again.

OS X Mail doesn't receive mail from yahoo anymore. I can send mail, see other folders with same account. When I get account info with ctrl+click yahoo inbox, all of the folders have some megabytes, but inbox has 0 bytes altough there are many unread mail in yahoo inbox.

Try rebuilding the mailbox. This can take awhile if you have a lot of mail.

  • Help: Hotmail messages won't delete in Mail

I've had this super annoying problem since I installed Leopard: whenever I receive a message on my hotmail account, it's impossible to delete, and it will keep showing up as unread everytime I throw it in the trash, until I finally delete it in my hotmail page. Why is that? I got the same settings for another email account and it works fine..
    Thanks

I fear that they are key stroke readers and I want to know how
    to get rid of them.
Having key stroke readers or spyware requires installing spyware. Do these messages include attachments that you opened? Even so, installing a program that is spyware requires entering your admin password.
The account's Junk mailbox may have some corruption. If this email account is a POP type account, do the following:
Quit Mail first and using the Finder, go to Home > Library > Mail > this POP account named folder (named by the user name and incoming mail server for the account) > Junk.mbox. The Junk.mbox within the account named folder represents the account named Junk mailbox under Junk in the mailboxes drawer.
Delete the Junk.mbox and empty the Trash.
Launch Mail and a new Junk.mbox will be created automatically by Mail within the account named folder when the next spam message received is automatically or manually marked as Junk.

  • Success messages won't appear

    Hi,
None of my messages appear. I've made sure that show Success
message checkbox is checked. Any ideas?

Nowhere near enough information, " kimmarieforbes".
Are you working with click-boxes? Buttons? Text-entry boxes?
What is the "action" for a success? How much time is set for the
slide? How much time for the click-box itself? Or is it a button?
If so, how much time is it set to be "active"? Inactive? Or maybe
it's a text-entry box. If so, what is the keyboard shortcut, if
any, and how long is the text-entry box set to appear . . . what
other objects are on the slide (in addition to the interactive
object you are referring to here) and what are their times and
    other pertinent properties?

I go to "Details" in the group message and pull down on the screen and nothing appears. Where is the custom group message field? Am I missing something?

    Hello there, rygar.maximus.

  • Why are some inbox messages not appearing in Mail on multiple macs and other devices?

My partner and I have an iMac at home and one at work.  We also have two iPhones and two iPads.  We only have a couple email accounts each and two for work set up on all six Mail applications.  For some reason inbox messages are not appearing consistantly on all six devices.  For example, I can have a new message from my Mom, see it at home and on my iPhone, but not on the iMac at work.
Also, some messages I'd like deleted off my work iMac since they're personal, but I'd like them kept on my home iMac and iPhone.  Is this possible?  Is it possible to delete a message on one and have it deleted on all others?
    Message was edited by: witboy

What type of email accounts are they? IMAP or POP.
IMAP leaves messages on the server so you can get them from everywhere.
With POP, messages are downloaded to your client and then removed from the server, depending on your settings.
The iDevice setup for POP doesn't remove them from the server.
I think Mail's default setup for POP is to remove immediately.
If they are POP accounts, you can set Mail's preferences to leave messages on the server for a period of time so that you can retrieve them on multiple clients.
