Incase Power Slider - Average runtime?

I picked up an Incase Power Slider with my iPhone and I'm wondering if my battery is sub-par or defective.
With 3G, wifi, and BT enabled, Push running 15 hours per day for 2 accounts (Exchange and Yahoo), and "mild" use (No real video or music use, just some apps and some internet) the Power Slider kicks off due to low power after about 12 hours.
As an experiment, I left my phone out of the Power Slider starting last night to get an idea of how long the iPhone battery lasts for me. I turn Push off from about 11pm-8am so email alerts don't wake me in the night.
Anyway, as of this post my iPhone shows 30 mins usage and 13.5 hours standby since last full charge and the battery meter is still nearly full. Within the last half hour or so it's gone from full to being down just a sliver. This seems to be lasting far longer than the Power Slider battery...??!?!
So the question is, does it sound like my Power Slider battery is a dud and should be returned?
Thanks...

Well, I think I'm just going to give up on the cases with a battery and just get a case that I like.
I returned the Incase due to the fact that it didn't work as advertised. Total time before switching over to the iPhone battery was ~12 hours.
So, I found Best Buy had the Monster Cable iPhone charging case (Leather case, 1800mAh battery, etc) for $10 cheaper than the Incase with a larger battery. I didn't particularly care for the case, but on the other hand I would be less likely to put it in my back pocket and sit on my phone.
Well, this case lasted for 15 hours before the red LED came on indicating 30% power left. Now, it hasn't cut over to the iPhone battery yet but I suspect by the 18th hour it will.
I'm able to get at least 48 hours standby and 3 hours usage out of the internal battery, so it makes no sense to me how these external batteries don't even last half as long when they're supposed to last twice as long.
At this point I might as well just return this one as well and get a regular case that I actually like.
Oh well. Was worth checking out.

  • The Incase Power Slider accessory for iPhone

Incase makes a slide-on case that has a built-in backup battery, so your phone is supposed to last about twice as long. It sells for around 80 bucks.
I bought one, and would advise you to avoid it. The battery part works OK, but when the case is on the phone, the extra battery falls in line with the cell antenna. It works like a shield, and causes the signal to be lower, and 3G throughput speed drops by about 75 percent. Download speed with the battery case on, 350-ish tops. Speed without, 1400.
Apple watched me take the readings, agreed it was caused by the extra shielding, happily refunded my money and recorded the complaint. They said they'd heard the same thing from others.
Too bad, the case looks great and it's a fantastic idea! Just needs a redesign so the battery is near the top. (or at least away from all built-in antennae.)

There are a couple products that simply plugin to the bottom of the phone and perform the same function. They basically make your phone taller.

  • What holster/belt case are you using with the power slider??

Looking to buy a belt holster/case for the incase Power Slider...I heard that the holster for the TILT is big enough to hold the power slider...is this true? Does it fit? Thanks!!!

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Power spectrum averaging

I am performing a power spectrum and averaging over a number of spectrums.  In addition to saving the average power values for the spectrum, I would like to save standard deviation, max, min.  Is there a way to do this?  It seems that in the Power Spectrum dialog box there is only the option to turn on averaging, but not to save this other data.

    Hi,
Hoe do you want to save the data (format)?
If you want you can save the value as txt numeric data in spredsheet file.
Or do you have any other idea

  • A Chink in the Armor

    Hi all,
As I'm agonizing over which case to purchase for my 3Gs, I can't believe that there are popular cases out there that seems to ignore the obvious breaking point. Namely the front screen.
I've seen many youtube videos on Mophie Juice Pack Air and the Incase Power Slider and although it looks great, what happens when there's an inpact towards the screen??? I can't beliieve people are recommending these and everyone seems oblivious to the fact that the screen is unprotected.
Remember, any defense is only as strong as it's weakest link.
Does anyone know of a case that is similar to the Mophie Air and Incase Power Slider, in other words,a case that doubles as a case and battery AND provides all around protection, including the screen? Thanks.
I've seen the ad for ivyskin's Quattro 4 but it lacks a battery. I think rumor has it that they will provide a battery to that particular model later in the year. I'm not sure I can wait that long.

I've researched cases a bunch and the top one that I have found are the Incase Slider, switcheasy rebel, and agent 18. I now own the switcheasy rebel and its already protected my phone twice. It has a lip around the screen which helps it not get to messed up. I also have the screen protectors that came with their product. They have been working great.

As for the battery cases, I have heard from several people that they make you loose signal strength.
If you don't mind a bulky case, I have heard this is the best for full around protection, but I don't have any experience with it.

  • What is the difference between these two charging cycles??

    Hi,
When u check out this http://www.apple.com/batteries/
it says something about 2 hours Fast Charge and 4 hour Trickle Charge!!
what is the difference between both of them?
i charged my iPhone that day for 4 hours but i didn't notice any difference and it says Full after 2 hours!!
does it matter if it is charged through the computer or a power outlet on the wall??
    Thank you

In total it takes 4 hours to recharge the battery. You won't really know the difference actually if you plug it in when you go to bed for 7 hours. It actually states 2 hours to fast charge and 2 hours trickle charge. If you look closely at the chart it's based on 4 hours in total.

No it doesn't matter each one. You can buy any number of wall chargers and power packs at your local store. Go to Bestbuy.com and type 'iPhone Power' for select power plugin iphones.

  • RFSG Peak vs Average Power

I'm using a PXIe-5673E to generate multitone signals, and am currently adding the ability to pulse the output using script generation in RFSG.
The problem is that when the 5673 is set to script, the power level type needs to be set to peak power. Everything in this application has been done so far using average power, so I can't simply switch it now. I have to calculate the equivalent peak power when creating a pulsed output.
I've used the examples RFSG Multitone - Arbitrary Spacing.vi and RFSG Pulsed Data.vi to do this, so I'm dealing with I-Q arrays and the power level calculated inside of rfsg_Complex Multitone II.vi.
I've tried the calculation in the RFSG help manual under power level type, but it's always giving me 0. I've also tried the calculation on this page but it seems to be giving me a value that's too high. With a tone power of -40 dBm, it's returning -27 dBm. I'm looking at the output on a scope, and I'd assume the peak voltage level should be the same with or without pulsing the output.
What am I missing? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Marc_A,
There are several differences between peak power and average power, I think it's worth addressing several of them here.  To summarize the notes below, you'll likely just need to divide your I/Q data by sqrt(2).  I've added a couple of other notes about switching from average power to peak power that may be helpful but are only applicable in specific cases.
The help documentation is very confusing on this; it required a fair amount of time to pull this information out.  When in average power mode, the I/Q data is scaled from -1 to 1, while in peak power mode, the peak power is scaled from -1 to 1.  Peak power is given by sqrt(I^2+Q^2), meaning that if your I/Q data is scaled from -1 to 1, your peak peak power will be scaled from 0 to sqrt(2).  To compensate, you'll need to divide your I/Q data by sqrt(2); I've attached a VI that does both peak and average power for arbitrary waveforms.  This VI isn't built on script mode, but it should show how to manipulate your I/Q data to compensate for peak mode.
One thing to be wary of with average power vs. peak power; when in average power mode, the driver will scale I/Q data from whatever range it is in to the -1 to 1 range.  For example, in average power mode, if my I/Q data is scaled from -1 to 1 and I set the power level to be -20 dBm, my signal's maximum output will be -20 dBm.  Also, if my I/Q data is in the -0.5 to 0.5 range and the power level to be -20 dBm, the driver will still assume we want a maximum power of -20 dBm and scale my I/Q data by a factor of 2; I will still see -20 dBm as my output.  Average power always sets your signal to the power level requested and scales the I/Q data to match.
This is not the case with the peak power case.  With peak power, the driver does not scale the peak power to -1 to 1 for you, it instead leaves it the way it is.  If you're coming from the average power case, this problem can manifest itself in three ways:
Lower than expected power levels.  If your I/Q data is scaled from -0.5 to 0.5 and specify a power level of -20 dBm, you'll get a lower than expected power level, around 6 dB lower.
Error being thrown if the highest magnitude of your I/Q data is greater than 1.  If we forget to divide by sqrt(2), this will likely occur.  Average power mode will allow you to specify any range you want (even -100 to 100), but peak power will not allow you to select anything greater than a peak power of 1.
Unexpected power levels if using multiple waveforms.  In average power mode, if the waveforms have different ranges, the driver will match them all to the specified power level.  Therefore, in average power mode, all of our waveforms will have the same power level unless we change the power setting as well.  However, in peak power mode, if the waveforms have different ranges, they will be different power levels since the driver does not scale to the -1 to 1 range.
To summarize: as long as your I/Q data is scaled from -1 to 1, all you need to do is divide it all by sqrt(2).  The last 3 notes are caveats only if your data wasn’t scaled from -1 to 1 originally.

  • PLEASE HELP: PDF Forms, creating average formula for text?

    Hello,
I really hope somone can help. I cannot find any answers to my questions on the internet, google etc.
First time using Acrobat. Im pretty quick learning on compters however the formulas my boss has asked me to do I have no idea if they are possible.
We have a report form for exams and each section I need to calculate the average mark for that section.
There are 3 questions for the first section. There are dropdowns for distinction, Merit, Pass and Below pass to select for each questions.
Please see picture attached to show you what I mean.
I want to be able to calculate the most selected/average dropdowns selected and not count the N/A's into award1 field?
The fields must be text and cannot be numbers.
so for example, track 1 got a distinction, track 2 got a Merit, Track 3 got a distiction. all other fields left n/a
is there anyway to do this also is there any way to exactly the same as above as check boxes? - please see picture attached
I appriciate any help. I am working on a mac
    Thanks
    Lauren

    Thank you so much reply
Yes on the dropdowns the distincion, merit, pass or below pass values are in the correct areas ready for selection. For example on the distiction row you can only drop down for distinction and so on for Merit row dropdowns etc
Check box is the way I rather do it as its quicker, however I created the dropdown option just incase check boxes average was not possible
On the check boxes if i select merit for rtack 1 I would just tick the box and leave the the rest of the colum blank with no ticks. So just by seeing the tick I know its in the merit section for Track 1. However I donts know if I can do an average formula for with check boxes.
If I check boxed/slected distinction for track 1, distnction for track 2 and merit for track 3 (obvisley any box could be ticked depeneding how the exam went so need then all in the script). I would like it to then calculate the avergae mark which would be distinction in the award1 field. While the none ticked boxes or N/A fields not affecting the average.
This is just the start to a huge form Im doing Im dreading the rest of formulas I have to do lol
    sorry if im confusing you

  • How can I make a image slider using Dreamweaver? Is there any image slider widget I could use?

I was browsing through the web when I saw a website which had a really cool image slider. I don't have any idea of how to develop anything similar, but I was wondering if maybe dreamweaver had any widget that has already been developed by someone else that is open source for everyone else to use. Is there anything any?

Ken is referring to a "roll your own" slider that works great. There are lots of those.
None of those are built in to Dreamweaver. None of those will give you a panel within Dreamweaver with which you can build them.
Project Seven does sell widgets that are Dreamweaver extensions.
Adobe is offering another one for free (and you get additional function if you buy it).
Extend Studio offers Power Slider (with a free trial).
    And there is Nivo Slider.
These are extensions that plug in and extend what Dreamweaver can do.

  • RunTime&DSC

I have a problem when I try to start my application under LabVIEW DSC RunTime version 6.0 or 6.0.2. If the computer running the application was forced shutdown (by mistake, or due to a power failure) the RunTime doesn't start automatically after restarting Windows 2000. The operator need to close the DSC RunTime window and restart DSC RunTime. After second restart, all works fine.

    Hi Nelutzu,
If a computer system does crash whoever would know what happen after a restart? Maybe it does not restart anymore because the HD is demaged?...
Anyhow in your case it is as "simple".
    REASON:
LabVIEW DSC RTS (and as well the Dev System) is setting a configuration ini key to TRUE whenever the extensions (security, startup vi, ...) are loaded. Specifically: \vi.lib\extensions\uistartup\uistart.cfg (it's an .ini file) with section [LVStartup] and key running=TRUE. If now the system gets a forced shutdown, LabVIEW (DSC) cannot set this ini key properly to false and if we reboot the system and launch LabVIEW DSC (DSC-RTS) that "thinks" the VI is already started and will not load it anymore.
    WORKAROUND:
    There are maybe dif
ferent workarounds you could go with.
    a) You could write a small application or batch file that that would run before you start LV-DSC-RTS. This application should delete this mentioned key in the uistart.cfg file.
I have attached a small VI (written in LabVIEW 6.1 and built an executable with it which would do that). You copy this executable to the DSC-RTS folder and launch it before you start the DSCRTS.exe after a crash and than it should startup the VI at the first time.
    b) You could delete the mentioned key in your running application at startup by adding the attached vi as a subvi at the beginning of your app. However this would cause maybe some problems with the shutdown mechanism of LabVIEW. So what - this shutdown mechanism is anyhow ignored when we face into a powerfailure.
    Hope this helps

  • X121e microphone power throttling down (skype ,viber , etc)

One more of Lenovo's briliant "solutions".
Anyway, when I'm using Skype or Viber or basically any calling software with internal microphone, microphone power is throttling automatically down. It happens when person who I'm talking to starts to talk. It's probably because somme genius put microphone right next to speaker so it's too loud for it and it lowers power down.
Problem is it will over time throttle down to 0 and person on the other side can't hear me anymore. Basically I up the power slider he lowers it down and fights like that with me lol.
I wan't to turn ithrottling off completely! Tried all options in "SmartAudio", and properties of microphone, unchecked " Allow aplications to take exclusive control over this device" etc. No change.
    Very extremely frustrating!

No dice, installed the utility and tried all options. It still takes control over the microphone , and it forces enable keystroke noise suppression ,when I uncheck it it just checks it back automatically but even when it's unchacked it doesn't change anything.
Anyone with x121e and similar please report if you have similar problem?
    Thanks
