Include a Search Option

Hi,
Im new to Adobe Captivate and need help.
I am working on a MENU slide set with multiple buttons. Each button points to a different project (exe) which is more of a video manual.
My requirement is :
1. To implement a search option within the main MENU project, so that I can search all the content of all the slides of the main MENU project only (say the buttons, texts ,etc using their labels or names)
2. Can i import an .exe file into the MENU Project? and if yes Is there any disadvantages for that?
I already tried TOC. But the indexing is limited on the Slide label.

1. As you have found, the Search option is limited in Captivate and mostly designed for finding a TOC item in case the course is very large with many topics.
2. You cannot 'import' an EXE file into a Captivate project, however, you may be able to link to it from a button or other interactive object. Whether it will launch could depend on the end user's permissions and virus checking software settings. The TOC is built from slide numbers and slide labels. So you cannot just add another item in that is not in your project.

i am not sure about the script, why not create crawl rule which will exclude the allitems.aspx from showing in the search results.
Go to search service application, crawling section, click crawl rules to create a crawl rule to excludehttp://*allitems.aspx page.

Why is there no "SEARCH OPTION" in the Windows Store? Apps missing be nice if I could find them !

Since on this journey from Win 8 consumer preview to Win 8 retail preview ..And no currently trying out Win 8 Pro...It verified if it was gonna give me back ( allowed to re-download ) the apps I was used/had in previous editions. The Store gives you
a selection of YOU APPS from previous versions of the OS preview of apps you installed and currently would want to reinstall. Various versions of the Consumer preview I installed 2 out the 4 times i installed the OS seen I had installed the app Comixology.
When the first time I installed Retail preview it didn't have it in my list nor was it listed in the store! Same goes with Iheart Radio and Slacker Radio though numerous installments of the OS. Now trying out the Win 8 Pro 9200 version It showed I at
one point no matter what PC I used ( I own a few and bought a new one recently ) It showed at one point I installed Comixology. Yet it didn't show Iheart Radio or Slacker in my install list of old to reinstall nor was it even in the Store!!!! \\\So
what the hell gives ????? I mean If there was a SEARCH Option it would make it easier to track these Metro ( whatever they are calling it now -personally I think they should call it FRAMES as in Window Frames :P When you go on these
programs sites they only offer up Apple or Android app downloads and nothing mentioning of Metro or Win 8 -which is understandable due to not being released yet but still if the Store can't comply with your history of app install base ( paid or free ) and
you can't have the ability to retrieves said apps you once installed how can that be trusted if and when paid apps are bought if you are only to reinstall the entire OS and find that your app is not obtainable via offered through the main store or even in
your downloads app install history. I hope they fix this issue as it's been pissing me off since this whole testing thing!!

Sorry if I offended you by using an anecdote - the actions of kids are simply an easy way to explore the actions of adults. Growing up doesn't change base instincts. Most people (myself included) tend to have an immediate distrust of change when
it is not change that they are instigating, when it is forced upon them. What better example is there than a child, where many big decisions are made for them?
As for the new interface, I didn't catch on until it was revealed to me (or I hit my head against the wall, can't remember), so I'm not saying it is easy. Better education is needed, but going back to the old way doesn't help. The five or six
questions I have answered today are questions that I myself had, and wished someone had answered for me. This is a
drastic change from old versions of Windows. I even told my boss yesterday that I can't see his company (I'm a contractor) switching any time soon - too much new stuff to learn. That being said, once there are some good training tools available,
I do believe that this OS will be a good choice - it does feel more intuitive after only a few days of use. A training course is likely necessary for new users, however my guess is that this will wind up being a beneficial change (long-run)
for IT departments, because the system does feel more aimed towards the casual user. No matter what program you use, the search and settings are in one easy place.
I admittedly do not have a lot of files in my Skydrive, however the file that is there is purple, while the folders are blue. Not sure if all files are like that, and I really do not have the time to explore those differences. That being said,
the number in the bottom-right seems pretty self-explanatory, the number of child elements in the container. I barely remember the old Skydrive interface, however I do remember it felt clunky. Whether or not the changes are a true
improvement, it does feel more streamlined.
Metro (or whatever it is called now) is confusing. It is scary. (My word, not yours, nor am I trying to imply it.) It is definitely
different from the past. But it makes sense. Same interface on every MS product: Xbox, Windows, and Phone. Microsoft didn't exactly
pioneer this idea, either. Apple has been creeping in that direction for a while now. As I said previously, I can move around faster in the new Start menu than I could in the old, and I can actually do
more without ever putting a hand on the mouse - for anyone that is waist-deep in computers, regardless of their specific job, that tends to be a
good thing.
There are a lot of growing pains here, for both Microsoft and the consumer. Has MS gotten it right? Not yet, not entirely, but the goal is clear.

functionality, then I wouldn't disagree with you. There is plenty of that, and I think it was a bit foolish of Microsoft not to have a Connect site up for such things. (If I'm wrong on that, and there is one, please point me that way. I'm
still stuck with Explorer.exe crashing from click-scrolling.)
As for disliking the big changes, well, I can't agree with you on that at all. Again, it wasn't an easy transition, but now that I'm here, I don't want to go back. I want the true
bugs fixed, but not having a search bar seems more like being stuck on old ways of doing things than a real problem. That kind of thing can even lead to puking.

Ipod 30 GB: no search option?!

now I have my own Ipod (5. generation, 30 GB). Its working fine, but there isn't any search option in the menu. I already updated my software but there is still this problem... what can I do?

You would need to buy the "late 2006" version of iPod AKA iPod with Video.This is the only way to obtain the search feature you desire.OIt is (as yet)not included in the updates provided for download by Apple.Fifth Generation iPod (Late 2006) (also known as iPod with video)
You can distinguish the Fifth Generation iPod (Late 2006) from the original Fifth Generation iPod by the last three digits of the serial number. The Fifth Generation iPod (Late 2006) serial number's last three digits will be one of the following: V9K, V9P, V9M, V9R, V9L, V9N, V9Q, V9S, WU9, WUA, WUB, WUC, and X3N. The Fifth Generation U2 Special Edition iPod (30 GB Late 2006) serial number's last three digits are W9G.

Search option in 11g

In 11g, we have the search option. There are list of values like Action, Analysis, Agent, KPI, Filter...
I want to customise the list... remove some...
Can anyone guide me to which file i should be looking into.

Hi,
Try this-
Copy the complete default page javascript.
Right click on the dashboard page and view source.
Then if you search the list options in the search, you can find all the values. There you can customize the list values.
Now copy this javascript code and paste it in the separate text in the page and enable the HTML check box.
But remember this includes lots of trial and error method.

Default values to be populated in the search option ' Equip by equip list'

I am running the transaction code IE01 to create a equipment. While creating, i would like to select a reference equipment. When i am doing so, there are so many included search options are displayed. Now, there are two queries from here onwards.
a)Is it possible to hide / deactivate all other included search options except ' Equipments by Equipments list'.
b)When the option 'Equipments by Equipments list' is selected, is it any way to default the values for the fields 'Equipment category' as 'M' and the 'Class type as 002'

You will not be able to accomplish this using standard functionality without doing some development. It maybe possible to accomplish this through Transaction variant.
Other than the above, the simplest way to hide the search options would be to place a implicit enhancement at the begining of the FM "PM_HLP_PREVENT_RECURSION" to delete of the search helps other than "Equip By Equip List" based on the calling program and screen number.
With respect to defaulting, other than what Paul had indicated , try defaulting those values by setting the Parameter ID.

I just read this thread, and maybe someone here can answer my current trex question:
I have created an ordinary CM repository, and created an index with this repository as source. Now the problem: I would like to exclude files in the repository with specific mimetypes from the TREX indexing process.
I have verified that the TrexValidMimetypes.ini does not contain any reference to the Mimetypes I'm creating, but never the less, the document titles are searchable and are returned when searching.
How do I get around this issue?
Is it possible in NW04 or EP6.0 SP3 PXXX??

Restrict Equipment Search Options to only "Equipments by equipment list"

Hello Experts,
Is there a way to restrict Equipment Search Options to only "Equipments by equipment list" in all PM related transactions like maintenance plan, order, notification, measuring point, etc.,
We would like to put a hard stop on that option and restrict users from accessing (preferably not to even display other options) other options like "Equipment by Cost center", etc.,
Appreciate immediate response to this issue.

The Equipment Search Options can be restricted by two ways.
1) If the restricted search option required in all transactions where you are using equipment field,
Edit the search help collecting search help 'EQUI' in SE11, Flag the checkbox for all the search helps in the 'Included Search helps' tab except the 'Equipment by Equipment list' search help (EQUIL).
2) If you want for particular transaction or program,
Use the search help exit 'PM_HLP_PREVENT_RECURSION'.
ABAPer can help you for both the options.

You want to build a search form in your application for users to filter the execution of a View Object, or do you look for a search form in the editing environment to get you quickly to a View Object property to edit? In the first case, please read the documentation, its available in all 11g releases (including yours) : Creating ADF Databound Search Forms. In the latter case use the Property Inspector for a VO.

ConText Search Option - Need Help

I am wondering if the freely available oracle s/w supports ConText search option. I am getting error notice when i tried to configure context search option by ctxctl command.
Please suggest me what to do to invoke conText search option.

It would be a stand alone program, when you enter a url into the input box and hit search it should load the url typed in , in frame 2. But if the "Use Proxy" check box is checked then it should include the proxy in each search.

Search option slider buttons missing (RH11, IE10, responsive HTML)

I am using RoboHelp 11, Internet Explorer 10. I generated a responsive HTML output using the default layout.
Problem: the slider buttons for the search options: "Highlight Search Results" and "Show results that include all search words" are missing. (see screenshot below)
However, the slider buttons seem to show up when I use the "Government" layout.
(There doesn't seem to be responsive html forum, so I posted here.)

The only thing I changed was the @media statements in the layout css to reduce the minimum size for the desktop layout. (Is there an easier way to do that than directly editing the css?)
I didn't have time to fully try your suggestions. On quickly looking at the developer tools console, it only mentioned two unmatched bracket (>) errors, but I'm not sure that had anything to do with it. I also tried copying the image file into the output directory, but that didn't do anything.
I will take a closer look later next week and try your tips with the baggage file. I haven't been able to recreate the error anywhere else except on my work computer, so I may also just try to start over a project from scratch.

Customize Advanced Search Options - Permission Set

I'm looking for a way to customize the Advanced Search Options on a per user (or permission set) basis, is there anyway to do that?
Idea here is we have multiple clients accessing our final cut server system and would like to customize their advanced searches to include only their metadata information and not other clients metadata information.

No, there is only one Asset Filter group. I'd like to see differentiation from the Subscription and Search Expired filters and the advanced search, and I placed a bug report to that end. You should do the same. Call it an "Enhancement".

How to use auto-increment and search option for MS Access DB

I have configured our invoice in Adobe Livecycle and connected it to MS Acess 2007 as per http://forms.stefcameron.com/2006/09/18/connecting-a-form-to-a-database/.
All is working fine, I can insert, retrieve data from DB to invoice and vice versa.
Now I want few things to be implemented on our invoice.
When ever I open our invoice, it populate the first entry from DB, Is it possible to populate the last entry ?
Auto increment invoice number from MS Access DB every time we open our invoice after save.
How to implement search option from DB for invoice number ?
Please let me know if someone can provide me help on my scenario, so that I can share more stuff related to invoice and DB.

As far as I know there is not any auto increment data type in Oracle. Instead of this you should create a sequence and get the next value of the sequence while creating a row in your table.
