"We" will never jailbreak "again" as "we" never did it before. "We" leave WiFi and BT on as they don't really use much battery life unless active.

  • Disable bluetooth "Device Connected" and "Device Disconnected" notification

    Hi there.
Is there a way to stop the bluetooth "device connected" and "device disconnected" notification from appearing in the middle of the screen?
Logically this notification should be optional and disabled out of the box just like other hardware notifications (network, printer, hard disk etc..).
    Cheers

Hi everyone, here is my "issue".
I disabled Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn from notification center (their account are still enabled).
Anyway, every time I reboot, they come back enabled bothering me with notifications.
Is there a way to permanently disable them even after reboots?
    Many thanks!

and Eric, I did that already, I delelted his account and still have it on notification.

  • HT4623 After updating, I've lost over half my Applications from Home screen, including Setting, Safari, Camera and more plus all original downloaded Apps. How do I get them back?

After updating my iPhone 4S with ios6, it seems I have lost over half the Applications from the Home Screen, including Settings, Safari, Camera, Photos and more plus all the original downloaded Applications. Can anyone help please?

The built in apps can't be deleted.  If you want them reset back to their original arrangement on your screen, go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout.  If your purchased apps are missing, either sync them back to your phone with iTunes or redownload them for free (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519).

    Hi R. Weav27,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  This article has some troubleshooting steps for issues with push notifications:
    iOS: Understanding notifications
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3576
    Troubleshooting notifications
Push notifications require an active Wi-Fi or cellular connection.
Note: Notifications use Wi-Fi only when a cellular connection is unavailable. Firewalls and proxy servers may affect your ability to receive notifications. For more information, see Unable to use Apple Push Notification service (APNs).
If you're not receiving notifications for a specific app, try these steps:
Verify that the app supports notifications.
After installing an app or restoring a backup to a different iOS device, open the app to begin receiving notifications. If the app requires entering or logging in to an account, you will need to do this before receiving notifications.
Check Settings > Notification Center to ensure that the app is configured for notifications. If notifications do not appear in the Notification Center, verify that the Notification Center setting for the app is enabled.
    Cheers,
    - Ari

  • Camera, bluetooth, media card and more functions are disabled on my 8320 device

    Hello.
I've some problems with my BB device which was a gift from a friend so I always see "Administrator has disabled the camera", "Media card", "Bluetooth"... Would you please show me how to solve this?
    BB OS 4.5.0.188 // PF 2.7.0.110.

    Hello,
    Several things...firstly...
KB05099 Steps to take before selling or after buying a previously owned BlackBerry smartphone
And next, due to the "Administrator" restriction message you received, I suspect there is a latent IT Policy on this device...you can check via this:
KB30076 How to check for an IT Policy on a BlackBerry smartphone
If such is there, then you will need to insert into the steps in KB05099 another step where you remove the IT Policy, which is done via this procedure:
KB31291 How to reset a BlackBerry smartphone to factory settings using BlackBerry Desktop Software
If you perform a backup/restore in conjunction with this, be sure that you do not do a wholesale restore...instead only restore those databases you require (e.g., contacts, calendar, etc.) and specifically avoid restoring any databases that have anything to do with IT Policy, Enterprise, Service Books, etc. If you restore those, you will restore the problematic IT Policy, and you'll be right back where you started.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Bluetooth, International WiFi, And More..

I purchased my iPhone on the night it came out, and have thus far been very pleased with it. However, I do have a few questions..
First of all, I previously had a Motorola RAZR. I used to use its Bluetooth feature to link it to my MacBook laptop to transfer pictures. Is this not possible on the iPhone? Is there an efficient way to transfer photos taken with the iPhone camera to the laptop apart from email? I have no issue with pairing it to my Toyota Camry Hybrid; that bluetooth feature works fine. However, I think most of the topics I have scene state that it is not possible to use Bluetooth between an iPhone and a computer for file transfer. If this, in fact, is not possible, does anyone know if it ever will be?
Second, I currently live in the US, and have AT&T service on my phone. I will be leaving for a two week trip to Italy and Spain within a couple weeks. If I manage to find a WiFi source overseas, can I connect to it with my iPhone and receive internet without paying hefty roaming charges? Does WiFi fall into the category of roaming at all? Or is it free as long as I find a source to connect to?
Thanks in advance. Any information you can offer would be great!

No. When you land in India, turn your iPhone on and it will search for a local Indian network (be patient, this can take several minutes) and then use your phone as normal. As mentionned in the previous post, you may want to subscribe temporarily to an international roaming package because if you intend to make calls, browse the net or use apps that require data connectivity, you will be charged heavy rates. Use free wifi where available to minimise your data costs.

  • Notification settings on iPad 3 are set properly but my new IPad does not get alert badges or rounds on apps with all notifications selected and in notifications center.  Why?  Others are reporting same problem.

i just bought the new iPad and even though notifications are set exactly the same for mail and my app is turned on and in the Notifications Center and alerts and sounds selected for mail and apps only my iPad 2 is working.  No alerts on iPad 3.  I see other posts with same problem.  Any suggestions or posts re same problem will be appreciated before I return to Apple Store for help.  thanks.

Do you have system sounds muted?  Check the button above your volume control on the right hand side of the iPad.  If, when you change the button you see mute on your screen, you'll restore system sounds.  If you see lock orientation, you can restore system sounds by double tapping your home button to bring up the task bar (most recently used apps).  With your finger swipe those apps all the way to the right to reveal a mute icon on the left.  Touch that icon and you'll restore system sounds.
Let us know if that was the issue.

  • Apple reminders do not disappear from "all" and "missed" view when dismissed from "today" view of notification center by marking the circle by the reminder. why is this?

Firstly, I really like the new reminders in iOS 7. However, I noticed that apple reminders do not disappear from "all" and "missed" view when dismissed from "today" view of notification center by marking the circle by the reminder. it requires me to take an extra step and click on "all" and then click the "x" to make it completely disappear and clear from notification center.
why is this? am i doing something from?

unfortunately, that does not address my question. your link describes how to clear the missed section of center.  I know how to clear the missed section of notification center, as I said in the original question. I will re-peat my question to clarify. it is:
apple reminders do not disappear from "all" and "missed" view when dismissed from "today" view of notification center by marking the circle by the reminder. it requires me to take an extra step and click on "all" and then click the "x" to make it completely disappear and clear from notification center.
why is this? am i doing something wrong?
the behavior I would expect would be that when i click the circle on the "today" view. it would clear it out from the missed and all view so i would not have to clear in 2 areas.
    I Hope this clarifies...

  • Notification center crashes - the possible fix for me - remove Twitter.

I recently updated to a new Mac, and the only issue I was having intially was Notification Center hanging and crashing the computer when I slid it over.
I don't know if others were having this problem, or just me; most of the threads I had seen about the issue were dealing with older versions of OS X (Mountain Lion or Lion)  When this hang occurred, the only way around it I had was to hard-reboot the computer, or use the "KillNotificationCenter.app" I downloaded from an older post in this forum.  The computer basically became entirely unresponsive, and often the Notification Center was half slid out when this happened.
It appeared at first to be more frequently an issue if I started the Notification Center right after waking up, but that ended up not being the case.
After experimenting a bit, I think I've figured out the problem (for me, at least), after playing around with things a bit.  I have not had a single Notification Center crash.  There may be something else at play, so I can't confirm this, but for me, all the Notification Center crashes stopped after I removed Twitter from the Notification Center.   This is the default, built in Twitter from OS X, not any Twitter applications.  I have not tried any of those.   It was not incredibly useful for me, since it only returned a minimal amount of information, and I don't in general receive a lot of DMs or mentions, etc.
I believe what originally drove me to try this was something I saw in the crash logs, but I can't find my notes.  But I can say I haven't had any problems since doing this.
Again, maybe I'm the only one, but I thought I'd pass this along in case anyone else was still having problems with Notification Center crashing.

If you literally "checked" them, meaning the checkboxes, that only affects their visibility. To remove them, select one and then click on the "minus" part of the "plus minus" at lower left.

  • Email notification center not working on iPhone5

My email notification center on the new iPhone5 does not appear to be responding to changes that I make.
For example.  Whenever I'm at the office, I don't need my phone to notify me of every email that comes in.  So I go into NOTIFICATIONS, EMAIL, and I turn "notification center" off.  I also switch the alert style to NONE.  However, I still see my phone light up whenever a new email comes through and the alert shows on the middle of the screen.
I've discovered that if I power cycle the phone, SOMETIMES, the setting will take.
I've gone from Blackberry to Android, and now to iPhone.  The one feature that the BB did have which I loved was that you could very easily set all of your ringtones, alerts, etc... based upon a predifined notificatios app.  for instance, If I chose 'Office", my phone would be set to vibrate for incoming calls and text messages, but nothing else.  If picked "Home" it would ring for everything (phone calls, text messages, email, FaceBook, etc...).  If I picked "Sleeping" it would would ring Only incoming calls and text messages.
I see that iPhone has attempted to do this with the DO NOT DISTURB option.  I can quickly turn everything off with the exception of incoming calls.  It would be nice if this option was more advanced and allowed me to set how I want each of my notifications to work, depending on which setting i picked.
I'm curiose as to whether or not any apps exist to allow this functionality.  I have not been able to find one.

Well, I have a plain question for EVERYONE here:
Do you see the same Notification Center on the Lock Screen as in the Home Screen?
    Do you? Anyone?
Apple: make sure you work on this stuff really fast, it's very anoing what you are doing here. I need the NotificationCenter on the LockScreen, with the Favorites contacts there too. Just learn from the jailbreak software, NOW !
I bet it's not a mistake, it's just the way Apple think it's better for me. They are so smart they know what's better for me all the time. Just plain WRONG !!!

  • IOS 6 to iOS 7.... The Struggle w Notification Center

    Hi Guys!
I am a long time iPhone user and I currently have an iPhone 5 on Sprint. I just dowloaded the new iOS 7 and there are some things that I enjoy and lots of things that I DO NOT.... If anyone has any fixes for this I would love to hear them! Thanks so much!
My BIGGEST stuggle is that I lost my "List" view in calendar and in the notification center.... That is hands down the biggest thing I used my iPhone for besides texting. I have a very busy schedule and I rely very heavily on my phone to keep my calendar straight. Does anyone know any way to get the new iOS to display more than one thing on the screen...
I want to go back to where it had all my calendar events displayed with the time at the very top of the screen just below the weather...
Bringing me to my next issue...
I do not have the weather in my nofication center! Yet on the bottom it says weather provided by yahoo... but I have no weather!
Anyway - these may seem silly but they are important to me so if anyone has any fixes for these I would LOVE your help!
    Have a great day!
    Best,
    Amanda

Upgrading  from 6 to 7 and downgrading from 8 to 7 is exactly the same thing. You're trying to install IOS 7 when it is no longer officially available. Your sister got lucky, your iPad could turn into a brick. Should you attempt to install IOS 7 and something goes wrong Apple won't help you and we are prevented from helping.

  • Mail not appearing in notification center... Also, gears not appearing in the mail app.

I tried to configure my mac to enable it to receive mails in the notification center but cant. i have tried to send an email from other IDs but havent received any banner or alert while using my mac. i have checked the show alerts and banners in notification center. Do i have to keep the window of the mail app in a specific position to receive alerts in the notification centre? Also, the gears are not appearing in the mail app when i fetch for new mail. please help..

    I'm also having this problem.
Notifications receives alerts from Reminders app, but not Mail.
I've set preferences in Mail for 'Inbox Only' and 'All Mailboxes', sent test mail from ISP webmail and Google (Mail is not setup to receive from this account) - still no notifications.
I had previously used Growl (v1.4) and GrowlMail very successfully (with 10.7), but while upgrading to Mountain Lion I was informed that GrowlMail was incompatible so I deleted it.
While testing this problem of not receiving Mail Notifications I have disabled Growl and rebooted.
    Like others here:
    Checked: Notifications setup
    Checked: Mail setup
    Rebuilt permissions
    Rebooted
Any help would be very gratefully received.
    Many thanks.

  • Email alerts not displaying in notification center on lock screen (iOS 7)

    Hi,
I am having issues receiving email alerts in the Notification Center when accessed from the lock screen.  I don't want to see the alert directly on the lock screen, only in the notification center.  Here are my settings:
So basically, the Notification Center is allowed on the lock screen, but the alert itself will not be displayed on the lock screen.  However, when I get a new email, it does not display an alert.  If I unlock the phone, and check the Notification Center, the alert is there.  If I turn the "Show on Lock Screen" setting on, then I do in fact get the alert both on the lock screen and the notification center.  What is really weird is that if I check the Notificaiton Center from the lock screen (where nothing is displayed), and then unlock the phone the alert is no longer in the Notification Center, as if I had already accessed it.
What is also strange is that these exact settings work perfectly fine for texts and fairly consistently for my personal email.  However, it has never worked for my work (Exchange) email.  In both cases I am using Push.
Is anyone else able to replicate this issue, or do you have a solution?
    Thanks,
    Aaron

Still an issue for me in 7.1

  • I can't access my notification center when my iPhone 5s is unlocked

When I unlock my iPhone i am no longer am able to swipe my finger down and see my notification cente. I just need help figuring out how to fix that

Did you try restarting the phone? These phones are in a sense, a mini computer so, it doesn't hurt to restart them time to time.
Also, in Settings>General>Reset. You may try <Reset All Settings> to the iPhone.
Try these and see what happens.
