'Include CD Text' option is greyed out
When I try to burn a playlist onto a blank CD, the option to include CD text is "greyed out". I noticed this option was disabled after I installed a new internal hard drive earlier this month (Seagate Scorpio Blue Serial ATA). I have the current version of iTunes (10.4.1) and I'm currently running OS X 10.6.8.
Strange, that option is working fine here. Has it worked before on the same computer? Have you installed new drivers, or do you need to? The troubleshooting steps here might help. iTunes for Windows: Optical drive is no longer recognized, or "Disc burner or software not found" alert after install

I cannot turn on my wifi and have tried everything its still greyed out
I reset network settings, reset all settings and made sure my phone software was up to date however it is still greyed out and i cannot switch it back on. is there anything else i can do? or do i need to take it back to the shop
Is this true for all WiFi areas or only at home? If all WiFi then it needs to go to the Apple store genius bar for testing by the techs.
If only at home, have you worked through http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398 -

Upgraded to iOS7 - WIFI still greyed out.. Any fixes?
I previously had the problem on the previous iOS 6.1.4 or whatever the most up to date was.
I've now upgraded to iOS7, reset network settings, reinstalled the operating system, full phone resets etc.
Unfortunately I STILL have the problem that my WIFI is greyed out!
I'm running an iPhone 4S by the way.
Can't believe for one minute, that after all the problems on the previous iOS that a fix hasn't been put in place - so if anyone knows of one, i'd really appreciate it.
That android devil is becoming more angelic!
I've also had my phone just over a year, so I assume that the warranty is now expired?? I know - i've had the problems for some time and I really should have got my arse into gear and took it in for repair before now!
Regards,
Andrew.I guess I don't have to wait
I got it fixed

I cannot turn my wifi on. The button is greyed out. This problem started after I update my software. First tech I spoke to said it was my problem because I chose to update the software and since I was out of warrenty, I would have to pay $19.99 for service agreement before anyone would talk to me. The next tech admitted this had happened to ssomeone else and stated it was a problem with my phone triggered by the software update, and because I was 57 days out of warrently, it would cost me $199 for replacement phone. So basically, anyone that chooses to upgrade their software, risk messing up their access to wifi and have to pay the developer of the software to fix the problem, their program caused. Does anyone have a clue how to fix this. Why wasn't I informed of the risks that could occur if I updated my device.
FYI, this is a user to user technical support forum.
No one from Apple monitors, reads, or responds here.
Try the following:
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network settings
If the Wi-Fi is still not working, basic troubleshooting from the Users Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
The vast majority of users upgrade with absolutely no issues. -
My wifi button has been greyed out ever since updating to iOS7, is there anyway to undo this update? I have tried resetting my network setting numerous times and it still doesnt work!! Any help?
Thanks. You are correct. This is a very bad hardware error of the WiFi Chip on the Logic Board. The Chip malfunctioned or was previously damaged, but the initialization error was not detected until you Update/Restore the iPhone recently. The Problem was there, just not detected yet. The repair or replacement of the WiFi Chip is very difficult. Because Apple does not repair iPhone 4S, they only replace iPhone 4S, it costs $199.

TS1559 Wifi still greyed out?
Solutions i've tried to fix this problem:
- Reset All Settings
- Reset Network Settings
- Turning iPhone off and back on
- Restoring iPhone on iTunes
- Turning Airplane mode on and back off
This problem started happening after the 6.1.1 and 6.1.2 update. My wifi was working perfectly fine before those two updates. When i updated to the 6.1.1, i tried the solutions and it worked but it only lasted for a couple minutes until i updated it to the 6.1.2 is when the solutions had no effect on fixing the wifi whatsoever.
I've heard about the freezer trick that supposedly fixes the wifi, i haven't tried it yet but not sure if it'll actually work but it's one of my only options left.
I know that i could probably just take my iPhone to the apple store but the closest apple store is pretty far and i want to find a way to fix this right now because i've been dealing with this for about 4 weeks at least.
Anybody got any other solutions or have the same problem?Did you update router firmware?
IOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings greyed out or dim.

Wifi is still greyed out after quite a few weeks.
I first contacted O2 online and tried everything with them. They said to contact Apple as it sounded like a software issue. I made an appointment with the Apple store. The guy who dealt with me said that because my warranty had now run out (still got another 12 months to go untill my contract ends), I was unable to have my 4S replaced. Instead I could pay £120 for them to fix it. I decided not to do this because if it was a software problem then surely Apple should be responsible. I am now constantly stuck in 3G and it is using up all my data. I am absolutely disgusted that Apple are not prepared to replace my phone. Does anybody have any ideas of my options?
If you go to the Apple store, they can replace it for a fee since this will be an out of warranty replacement. That is your only option as you know

File owned, but security options still greyed out.
After a recent Server migration many file did not handle it well. I had to retake ownership of files so that I could apply security settings. Unfortunately after taking ownership of every file on my C drive with the "takeown" command, I am still
unable to make changes in many folders, subfolders, files and so on. Has anyone had this issue? Is there an answer to my struggle?
Thanks - Josh
Hi,
Glad to hear it's now working, thanks for the feedback!

Can I go back to my 3gs from my 4s? Wifi still greyed out after all resets.
I have had it with all the resets and restores I have performed to get wifi on my 4s. Out of warantee but still8 months on my contract. My old 3gs is available. How do I go back to it until my contract expires?
See if this helps for wifi.

if not, it is a hardware failure. Contact Genius bar for evaluation and possible replacement.
If the iPhone 4S is paired to your contract, talk to your Carrier. -

Hi all. I can’t tell you how to solve your iCloud 3.x issues. Heck, I don’t think they’re even solvable.
But if you had a previous version of iCloud that was working correctly then I can definitely tell you how to solve the “iCloud Photo Stream is not syncing correctly to my Windows 7 PC” problem. …without even a re-boot.
Log out of iCloud 3.0 and uninstall it.
Open My Computer and then open your C:\ drive. Go to Tools/Folder Options and click on the View tab. Select the “Show hidden…” radio button and click on OK.
Open the Users folder.
Open your user folder
Open ProgramData (previously hidden folder)
Open the Apple folder – not the Apple Computer folder.
Open the Installer Cache folder
In Details view sort on Name
Open the folder for the newest entry for iCloud Control Panel 2.x – probably 2.1.2.8 dated 4/25/2013
Right click on iCloud64.msi and select Install.
When finished, the synching between iCloud and your PC will be back to working perfectly as before the 3.0 fiasco. The pictures will be synched to the same Photostream folder as before the “upgrade”. Now all you need to do is wait until Apple/Microsoft get this thing fixed and working before you try the 3.x upgrade again.
I think the iCloud 3.0 software was written by the same folks who wrote healthcare.gov with the main difference being that healthcare.gov might eventually be made to work.
For those of you who hate to go backwards, think of it as attacking to the rear. Which would you rather have, the frustration of no synching or everything working on an older version?
Good luck… -
Any ideas on how to correct ct. This?
If you Restored the iPhone with iTunes on your computer, and there is still no WiFi or Bluetooth, this is hardware error. If there is Warranty or AppleCare, make Genius reservation or set up Service and take or send iPhone to Apple for resolution.
