"Include Full Resolution Photos" option NOT available!

Hi -
I'm running iTunes v 7.5.0.20 on a Windows XP, SP2 machine. On all the tutorials / help topics for this version of iTunes, it states that I can move full resolution versions of all my photos onto my iPod by checking the "Include Full Resolution Photos" checkbox in the photo pane. This option isn't showing up AT ALL in iTunes. My iPod is selected in the "devices" area in the left pane, and I have clicked on the tab labeled "Photos." Here is exactly what appears:
- A "Sync Photos From" checkbox and drop-down that allows me to choose a folder
- Two options for selection. One says "All Photos" and the other says "Selected Folders" with a list of folders.
- the ONLY other thing it says in that pane is, in small type, a brief description of how iPod will sync the files.
There is NO CHECKBOX for including fell-resolution photos, and I need it.
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Yes, I do have the touch, thank you for the help.
Since there appear to be only two zoom levels to photos on the touch, anyway, it appears I can't use it the way I wanted to. (I wanted to use a large map and be able to zoom in wherever -- I guess I'll just have to include lots of smaller maps.
I don't quite understand part of your answer -- do you mean that the full resolution photos could only be viewed AT full resolution if they'd been moved back onto another computer?
Thanks!

  • Full resolution iPod photo option not available??

I want to transfer my photos to my iMac using the Full-resolution photo option so I can then transfer them back to other computers. The problem is the full resolution option in the iPod options is greyed out. I have enabled disk access as per the iPod tutorial. What else do I need to do?

    Unless I misunderstand your question....
The two places (ipod and mac) where you could view your library images are displayng two different sets of data.
The iPhoto library was in one format and the iPod has only (ipod formated) thumbnails on it.
The iPod thumbnails are kept seperate from your iPhoto Library. On my machine they are in my PICTURES folder in iPod Photo cache.
Since this is not the same set of files you could not restore it.
NOW IF YOU REALLY HAVE YOUR iPHOTO LIBRARY on your iPod you could move it back to your hard drive while in disk mode to the expected location but DO YOU REALLY HAVE THAT FOLDER or do you have the thumbnails of that folder?

  • Is there a big differnce when you check "include full-resolution photos"

I was wondering the major difference, becuase if I wanted to transfer the images from the ipod to another device, would that be the right way, and will the full res pics take up to much space on the ipod hard drive.
also how much compression is used when you don't use full res images?

if you're looking at tranferring photos from the ipod to something else, it's important to include the full resolution photos. if you have that box unchecked, the only images you get on the ipod are the little "thumbs" that display on the ipod itself.
the full res photos take up some room. i've got a test folder of 4 photos on attractive beast. "Photos" shows as 10.8 MB if i'm including the full res ... but only as 3.1 MB i'm not including the full res.

  • Incoming caller full screen photo still not available in iOS8

I saw iOS 8 videos and can see incoming caller photo is restored with full screen we all love to see in iPhone. However I upgraded my iPhone to iOS 8 and still see that thumb nail caller pic.. Is this corrected or still the same as iOS 7?

    Is this me or everyone?

  • Do not show the Mac menu bar and the Dock in full-screen mode option not available

"Remote Desktop Connection" for mac has an option to
hide the menu bar in full screen mode.  I am unable to locate this option in the new
Microsoft Remote Desktop.  Without this option the remote desktop connection bar becomes completely inaccessible.  And since the old "remote desktop connection" program has poor support for windows 8.1 I cannot go back.
Is there a workaround?  Can you please add this important feature back in?

    H,
I am afraid that we have no solution or workaround for this. I will help to submit this as a customer wish to the product team.
    Thanks for the feedback.

  • How do i sync full resolution photos from computer to phone?

anyone know how to sync full resolution photos from computer to phone using itunes?  itunes does not show the option to "include full resolution photos."  photos i'd like to sync include both photos taken with iphone and photos i've taken with another camera.  i also don't have to use itunes, whichever program gets the photos in their separate folders back onto my iphone in full resolution is fine.  using itunes 10 / iphone 4S / ios 5.0.1
    thanks!

As far as I know that's not possible when using iTunes. See this post: https://discussions.apple.com/message/15172235#15172235 and this one https://discussions.apple.com/message/15254581#15254581

  • ICloud and Photos app are not showing full resolution photos

Since migrating my iPhoto library to Photos, it has had problems showing the full resolution of photos. I initially had "Optimize Mac Storage" selected, but even when I had space available, it would not download the full resolution version of a photo. The loading circle in the bottom right corner would spin until it would be 'fully loaded' but the photo would not become the full resolution photo. I then checked "Download Originals to This Mac", but after it said it had downloaded the full sized versions of everything, the same problem occurred. I then went to iCloud and the iCloud Photos app and saw that some of my photos were displayed at about 1/3 the size on the screen. This wasn't just zoomed out. When I zoomed in closer the image did not resolve any better.
HOWEVER, downloading the photo from iCloud and opening it in preview gave the full resolution photo. I have attached an image showing the different levels of resolution from os x Photos app, iCloud, and the downloaded image (shown in Preview). I used the zoom slider on Photos until it reached 100%, I set the view in Preview to "Actual Size", but in iCloud to get the same dimension image, I had to zoom to 200%+.
Another thing that I noticed was that this doesn't happen to all of my photos:
It definitely happens to all of my photos taken with a Fujifilm X-M1, where I shoot in RAW, adjust and process in Lightroom, then export JPEGs to iPhoto. These tend to be slightly smaller (largest side 2048 pixels).
It doesn't happen to photos taken with 645Pro app (where I still export JPEGs to iPhoto with largest side 2048 pixels).
It happens to some, but not all, photos taken with the iPhone's native camera app
I am very confused. Also, even after having checked "Download Originals to this Mac" and letting it download everything, the Photo Library is only 3.77 GB. In iCloud it is ~10GB and my old iPhoto library was about ~15GB.

I now discovered that I can't edit photos in the Photos app (presumably because Photos is not communicating well with iCloud and can't download the full resolution photo to edit).

  • Iphoto does not support the resolution of my dslr camera...how do i upload full resolution photos?

iphoto does not support the resolution of my dslr camera...how do i upload full resolution photos?

You actually need to give information to get help - just stating an abstract problems (which is most certainly not a problem at all) gives the volunteers hearer nothing to work with to help you
What version of iPhoto? Of the OS? What exactly is the problem (iPhoto does support the resolution of your camera so that is NOT a problem)? what exactly are you doing? What error messages do you get? why do you incorrectly think that iPhoto does not support full resolution?
At this time your question is like my car won't start - why not? Could be anything from you did not put the key jun to being out of gas to having the engine stolen - no way to tell anything - except that the problem you claim is not true (at least in my example I would know that the car did not start)

  • Bug with MP3 tags & full-resolution photo storage...

My birthday was last week and I got a new iPod classic 120 gb......
I am a music (67 gb) and photo buff (22 gb)......and I am having trouble with each. I am using the XP box to do the syncing, since my wife's iBook doesn't have enough storage space to hold all of our photos and MP3s.
    1) Music...... for xmas and my birthday I got 7 new CDs.... I ripped all 7 into iTunes prior to syncing my iPod for the first time and all 7 work perfectly on my family's 3 computers (laptop running OS X 10.4.11, laptop running Ubuntu, and an old Windows XP box that I use as a file server). Yet they all don't show up correctly on the iPod.....
    a) +Slumdog Millionaire+ soundtrack shows up in iTunes with each artist for each track listed correctly....yet on the iPod all songs are under "Various Artists"
    b) +The Best of Clifford Brown+ & +The Juno sountrack+ don't show up at all on the iPod even though they register correctly in iTunes
    c) Charles Mingus' +Mingus Ah Um+ & The Soundtrack for the movie Once.......shows up under album view on the iPod with "Charles Mingus" listed as the artist, but does not show up under Artist view.
    d) The other two CDs work normally.
I ripped all of these CDs at the same time. They all work perfectly in iTunes and in Amarok on my laptop running linux. Why won't they show up correctly on my iPod? It is only these new CDs, the rest of of my giant library synced perfectly. I deleted the files and restored the iPod and the MP3s on the desktop from my back-up but that did nothing.
What is causing this? Should I re-rip the original CDs?
    2) Photos.....I think this is just an Apple thing....but I thought I'd ask....I take LOTS of pics.....my pictures all synced up perfectly with my iPod. I selected the option to upload the full resolution photos as an added redundant back-up since i have the extra space on the iPod......but iTunes didn't take my existing file structure (each folder is an album)...it dumped my 20,000 plus photos into a single folder for March 15th (The day of the original sync) in the iPhoto style file system. The tags are all intact with the correct date, but iTunes didn't read them.
I know this is a personal preference thing.....but I stopped using iPhoto exclusively because it made backing up my photos too cumbersome between different operating systems. I've always found it ironic that it is easier to illegally share copyrighted MP3s out of iTunes then to share non-copyrighted family pics out of iPhoto. It seems my iPod is forcing me back into the iPhoto file system. Is there a way to get iTunes/iPod to just copy my existing file structure so that I can navigate through album folders rather then the giant mass of photos.

Shawn, the issue with the music is likely due to the fact that the CDs in question are compilations (or at least marked as compilations in iTunes).
When an album is labeled as a compilation, the iPod will not list its contents under the artist, instead, you need to enable compilations on the iPod and look there. It will also place the album art for these tracks at the end of Coverflow.
You can undesignate tracks as compilations by right clicking the tracks, choosing "Get Info" and go to:
Options tab (if you are highlighting multiple tracks)
Info tab (if you are highlighting single tracks)
I can't help with your photo issue (I only have music on my iPod), though you are probably correct that this is just the way Apple has chosen to file the photos.

  • My pc crashed and I lost all my pictures and music that was stored on the pc.  Now i have a new pc and when i connect to itunes using my password all my music and photos are not available.  they appear to be lost.

my pc crashed and i lost all my pictures and music that was stored on the pc. now i have a new pc and when i log into itunes all my music and photos are not available.  I guess i dont understand the pupose of itunes and its worth.  I thought it backed up all my photos and music, but apparently not.  So what do I use so that when i lose data on  my pc i can retrieve it again at a later date or after a crash?/

Your content will only be where you put it.  It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
You can transfer itunes purchases from your iphone: File>Device>Transfer purchases.
You can import your pics taken with the iphone as you would with any digital camera.
You can e-mail the other pics to yourself, they will never be of the original quality.
You can out a unique contact and calendar entry on the computer.  You should get the option to merge the data when you sync.

  • Photo from iMessage saved to my camera role, how come the saved photo is not available to edit with iPhoto on my iPhone?

When I save a photo from iMessage to my camera role, how come the saved photo is not available to edit with iPhoto on my iPhone?

I tapped a photo in Messages to vie it full screen.
Tapped the Share icon and saved it to my camera roll.
Opened iPhoto for iOS and my image library updated. After the update I could see the image in my camera roll. I selected the amera roll, then tapped the image I had copied from Messages. I was able to edit the photo with no problem.
Did you follow this same procedure or ry to copy the little thumbnail photo from Messages?

  • Why does photo information not available when you email a photo?

Why does photo information not available when you email a photo?

How are you mailing from iPhoto? If you have iPhoto set to mail using Mail.app, you can set what will be included, when you mail with Share > Mail:

  • Preview on [device name] option not available

Preview on [device name] option not available on Folio Overlays

In v20 its available in the Folio Builder panel (iPad only, I think). You have to plug to your Mac to the iPad with the USB cable and starting the Adobe Content Viewer app on the iPad first. Otherwise check iTunes on your Mac if your iPad is listed under "Devices".
Are you using InDesign CS5.5 or InDesign CS6?
You have to be up to date with the Overlay Creator panel to v20 as well. Check for that.
Recently I had no chance with InDesign CS5 and the v20 tools installed on a Mac with OSX 10.5.8.

Use CC 2014 menu Help>System Info... use its copy option and paste the info here.  So we know your running CC 2014 not CC and that you have an enabled GPU....and latest device drivers.
