Include HTMDB Page in HTML app

Hi,
I have some public pages that I would like to include into existing webpage.
How can I acheive this ?
Is there a way that I can use Server Side includes ??

We have an existing web site and I would like to include one simple public page into an existing html Page.
I tried iframe but I would like to see if there are other solutions than using frames.
Any idea or pointers on how to do a webrequest and include it after ? I guess that this would be done with server side includes ?

No it does not. The 2 are separate.
To get Pages on your Mac mini purchase it from the Mac App Store. The icon is on your Dock.

New Safari 2.0.3 displays some Router Firmware pages as HTML Source text

Hello Safari users and gurus.
I installed the new 10.4.4 Combo Updater yesterday, preceded and followed by permissions repairs and other maintenance, including cleaning Safari Caches. Safari 2.0.3 works.
My problem: 10.4.4's new Safari 2.0.3 displays HTML source text after I click "Save" from within my Linksys (latest firmware) router's web based administration pages that worked correctly with the previous version of Safari.
When I check or change my router settings, the initial router settings pages appear as they did with the previous version of Safari. However, with 10.4.4's new Safari 2.0.3, as soon as I click "Save" to attempt to save a changed router setting, the confirming info from the router is displayed as HTML source code instead of the expected HTML page display.
If I wait for the router lights to indicate activity has ceased and then reload the router's opening admin address, the page opens again normally, and I can navigate to other pages and see that the changes have been saved. However, any click on any "Save" changes button in the router's pages delivers another page of HTML source text.
I will watch for future router firmware updates to see whether the issue is resolved from the Linksys side.
Does anyone have any suggestions for improvement now? All assistance will be appreciated.

Thanks glefand. As you suggested, I tried my old iBook G3 that is still running 10.3.9, and it works fine for me.
My G5 DP also worked normally up through OS X 10.4.3. My problem only began after I installed the 10.4.4 update. I think the Safari update included with the 10.4.4 update is what is causing the issue with the firmware pages on my Linksys router.
Hopefully a future router firmware update (or Safari update?) will restore proper operation. If not, I will continue to reload from the router's Start page. The need to work around this glitch is annoying, but the actual function of my router setup works without problem, even though the pages do not display properly.

How to create a popup help page in html db

i'm trying to create a popup up help page in html db by having a help button from the main page and when clicked a popup page will appear... but can't seem to get it working...

I have incorporated your popup code in navigation 'Logout' link.
Now after clicking on that the popup page appears fine .
But i like to include two button in that popup page such a way that --
after clicking 'Confirm Logout' button some database updation has been done and the child popup page unloads,but the parent page redirect to login page.But if cancel pressed then only child popup page unloads and no database action will will be carried out .
Could you plz help on this .

I dont want to jump to different page but wanted the same servlet
that could include different page on conditions.
Ex. if your logged in it will show your company details with the middle
of page with all the 'page-side' contents(menu , banners etc) around it.
Now this same servet will include the login page in the same middle of page, when you need to login.
Hope this could explain what i want not how i may make a login system.

Repeater fails using {container.item} context within included JSP pages

I'm using Bea Workshop 8.1.2 and netui's based framework.
I'm experiencing a problem relating to the use of jsp:insert tags as a way of templating the code as to make it more maintainable and cost effective.
The problem arises when using repeaters and then binding a <netui> tag with a "container.item" context inside the included jsp page.
Example:
On a PageController we define on its scope a rather simple data structure:

With this example the {container.item} tag fails with this exception:
"Caught exception when evaluating expression "{container.item}" with available binding contexts [actionForm, pageFlow, globalApp, request, session, appication, pageContext, bundle, container, url, pageInput]. Root cause: com.bea.wlw.netui.script.xscript.IllegalContextStateException: The Tag "com.bea.wlw.netui.tags.html.Label@cb5dce" does not have a valid parent of type DataAccessProvider. The expression "container["item"]" requires a parent of this type."
BUT - and here is my problem with this - the label tag with {pageFlow.array[0]} PRINTS THE DESIRED ELEMENT.
Also, on an extended example with a <form> tag around the main index html and the array structure inside a FormData class, {actionForm.array[0]} ALSO PRINTS THE DESIRED ELEMENT.
Only {container.item} gloriously fails with an exception complaining about IllegalContextStateException.
This is a total nonorthogonal behaviour, the features do not work as expected and indeed, with the importance of repeaters for netui's development, this preclude us from the minimum standard for structured web application design.
Does anyone have any clue about this behaviour? If not a fix, at least an explanation...

I am trying to insert multiple rows I when submited I am get ting only 1 row in the DatabaseForm.

Occasionally Connected LightSwitch HTML Apps Using JayData

JayData, as many are probably aware from prior blog posts and discussions on this forum, is a powerful JavaScript utility library for OData providers, including LightSwitch.
Recently, the JayData developers have expanded the
provider offerings to include many other database programmatic interfaces.
Their latest release, JayData 1.3.6, codenamed “Advanced Sync Edition,” aims to support occasionally connected apps by exploiting the local storage capability of the browser (Web SQL. sqLite, IndexedDb, etc.).
Development is simplified when using the same data model and API for writing to both local storage and the OData endpoint.
An example of this is shown at How to Create a Synchronized Online-Offline Data App with JavaScript and JayData.
This model, the “To Does” project, was successfully adapted to a LightSwitch HTML app without difficulty.
Although “To Does” projects like this serve as a nice proof-of-concept, they are excessively simple compared to real world business applications.
Fortunately, JayData 1.3.6 also includes support for configurable foreign keys.
With this, more complex object-relational mapping that would typically be used with Entity Framework and similar RDBMS may be approximated.
To illustrate, the To Does project was expanded to include entity relationships.
Specifically, a To Do must be assigned to a single individual Project, and any single Project can have many To Does.
A Project can be assigned to an Employee or to multiple Employees, while an Employee can have a single Project or many Projects, thus defining a many-to-many relationship between Employee and Project.
So how might and online-offline LightSwitch HTML application work in practice?
Ideally in my opinion, the transition from online to offline and back should be seamless and transparent to the user, allowing for both UX and UI to be unperturbed.
This approach turned out to be too difficult for me as a developer, as I experienced problems with the closed-end nature of LightSwitch’s Visual Collection object, for instance. Separation of concerns is a real challenge with this approach.
There is also the separate UI approach for both offline and online data entry, which have been nicely illustrated by Michael Washington and Paul van Bladel on their blogs using JayData and BreezeJS with AngularJS alongside a LightSwitch HTML
app. This approach is valid, and from the viewpoint of the developer has its advantages. From a design standpoint, it is likely to be frustrating for an end-user who must deal with “spotty” network coverage, necessitating changing back-and-forth
from one UI to another.
I opted for a hybrid approach, staying entirely inside the LightSwitch HTML app environment but having individual menu options to select depending on the user’s online status, which is constantly displayed with a status icon (see Main Menu figure).
In many cases, the native LightSwitch screen and menu buttons are fully functional in the offline state.
When they are not, most often with regard to a “Browse” screen or involving a Visual Collection, I have substituted the updated WinJS library (now at
version 4.0, capable of replacing LightSwitch’s v1.0 with no breaking changes) to create a custom control that resembles the LightSwitch listview.
To use the app, you can use any of the online Menu buttons to enter Employee, Project, or To Do data in the usual way while connected.
The Offline menu buttons are functional in either a connected or disconnected status, which can be tested by disabling your devices WiFi, for example.
This LightSwitch app does not work with all browsers, however.
Because the local database is stored using the Web SQL/sqLite JayData API, it is not supported by either IE or FireFox.
It is supported by Chrome, Safari, Opera, Android browsers, Kindle Fire, and iPad browsers
(see link).
To see the local data stored in Web SQL while using Chrome, you can press F12, select Resources, and expand Web SQL to see the Table data updated with each transaction (see figure).
After entering data using the Offline menu selections, you will want to synchronize your local data with the remote LightSwitch database, which is performed by clicking “Synchronize Offline to Online” on the Main Menu.
A success or error dialog message should follow, depending on the result of the sync.
The dates and times of the last synchronizations are displayed on the Main Menu.
With each online database transaction, including offline to online syncs, the offline database is updated to reflect the very latest LightSwitch application data.
This method attempts to have the LightSwitch online database as the “single source of truth” as much as possible while the user is online.
Lastly (if anyone is still reading this far), note that by design there is no business logic programmed into this application; business logic is a separate issue to be addressed.
There can be as many incomplete To Does as you want, an Employee can be assigned the same Project many times, etc.
If your application requires business logic, you will have to program it into the client-side in order for the user to be prompted to follow it while offline.

TL;DR:
JayData provides an attractive solution for creating online-offline LightSwitch HTML apps by automating a single codebase to carry out CRUD operations on both a local datasource and the remote LightSwitch database.
Integrating the offline portion of the app into the LightSwitch UI requires an individualized solution and is code-intensive, however.

Thank you both for the input. Zardoz, I tried making a couple of updates to address items you mentioned. I left unfixed the problem that occurs when editing an offline Project's budget item..this still does not work. LightSwitch identifies this
entity as a decimal, WebSql expects a plain number, but LightSwitch's post-processing business type formats it to currency (I see USD, you may see NZD, AUD, etc.) In the console there is a "getModel() is undefined" in msls.js. If I take
out the Money business type to regular Text on the View, it works fine.
I'm not sure if I understood your last item just right, but I tweaked the Add Edit Offline Project screen to prevent the Project from being null if the user only enters a new To Do. Not sure why the screen validation wasn't firing before.
Regarding navigation, I don't wish to use the browser's back or forward buttons at all for the app, especially the Offline portion, only the LightSwitch menu navigation and command buttons. I know Xpert360 has shown how to put the former LightSwitch back
button in the app which is useful too. Navigation, cacheing and disposing were some of the tricky parts getting to integrate between LightSwitch UI and offline custom controls. Occasionally I felt like I was having to be "clever" at solutions,
except that when it comes to programming, I'm not a fan of cleverness.

here. Hopefully this serves as a good starting point for someone, and I look forward to seeing how it can be improved upon and used in practice.

You can use the script below from MS DOS prompt (Client Machine).

I have been using this for quite a while and no issues so far.
I have not used jpximport, but this also should be similar to xmlimport.

Include dynamic pages

Hi i have a jsp page(page1) which includes another jsp file (page2), but the name of (page2) jsp file is dynamically generated. I tried using <jsp:include="<%= variable %>" />, but it's not including the page2, it's giving error.

1. Please make sure that dynamically generate jsp is available in $OA_HTML
The <jsp:include> element allows you to include either a static or dynamic resource in a JSP page. The results of including static and dynamic resources are quite different. If the resource is static, its content is included in the calling JSP page. If the resource is dynamic, it acts on a request and sends back a result that is included in the JSP page. When the include action is finished, the JSP container continues processing the remainder of the JSP page

Including jsf pages

Hi,
I am trying to write a small jsf app. I am tyring to modularize it and having problems with <jsp:include..>. When I include a page with a jsf fragment it fails to render anything. Am I doing something wrong?

code. Right, it may work fine for some simple cases. All I
meant was that the behavior is not really specified,
and there are therefore a number of cases where it
doesn't work at all. It's on the list of things the EG
will look into.Doh! You're using static includes. I read it as if you were saying that you got dynamic includes to work.
