Include multiple SAP applications for implementation in CE ESR

Hi guys,
I would like to know whether it is possible to implement different services in the ESR of a CE environment in different SAP applications.
For example operation 1 of outbound interface of process component 1 is implemented in the SRM system. The operation 2 of outbound interface of process component 2 is implemented in the CRM system.
Guss it flys, but just want to be sure.
If this works then use of PI is only necessary for A2A processes with mediation and B2B processes (adapter engine necessary), correct?

Yes, It'spossible.
Eventhough we design the process components we implemnt the service interface.
You can generate proxy for the service interface in multiple systems and implement only the required operations.

Hi All,
We are implementing SAP (ECC 6.0) for one of our client, Due to some contractual limitations, we do not want to implement SAP portal though it is a part of standard delivery, I want to know that is it absolutely necessary to install and implement SAP portal for implementation of ESS & MSS.
What i know and understand is that with the new architecture ESS & MSS can be deployed and accessed as a stand alone application on an internet browser by (Web dynpro client) without any need of enterprise portal. While ESS & MSS application can be hosted on Web application server.
Please validate my understanding if it is correct, Also does the new Web dynpro based client support all the functionality and authorization related issues for ESS & MSS ??

Hi Amit,
Yes, you can run ESS/MSS as WebDynpro application without having to deploy on Portal. However, the look and feel and user accessibility is much better when deployed as Portal page. For WebDynpro, you will still need to publish the individual URL link to application somewhere...
Another point is that on portal you can deploy standard Business package specific to ESS and MSS which contains lots of readymade iviews/page/roles etc so it can reduce your development cost dramatically.
But, at the end it all depends on your individual requirement and project scope.

No it does not. The 2 are separate.
To get Pages on your Mac mini purchase it from the Mac App Store. The icon is on your Dock.

I am working on a object which have multiple webdynpro applications for single webdynnpro component.How to assign a different functionality to each application bcoz when we right click on webdynnpro component and select create webdynpro applications ,it just creates a application how so we assign diff functionality to each of them .Also in the parameter tab of the webdynpro applications ,there is a diff config id mentioned for each application.what is its relavance .

I need some configuration steps which specifies how to modify the Detail Navigation in PPM. Using SPRO we can do some configuration, i wanted to know whether its possible from portal end as well.

Don't take it other-wise, But my Approach is Far-Far Different from Others:
In any Implementation, for any Software Module, Two Important Aspects:
1. Knowledge about that Particular Software/ Module. Functionality-wise, You must know the Capabilities of Software -
a. What Process can be Mapped, in Standard Package
b. What Process can be mapped via Customization
c. What could not be achieved i.e. System Restrictions
2. One must be able to understand Clients' Industry-Specific Business Processes and Requiremements.
Untill-Unless, One is not able to Clearify himself on above Two-Basic-Points, How could he able to resolve/ assist others?
Also, Its not like that one fine day, I got-up and find myself in Consultant's Shoes. I think, Your Company must have provided Basic Assistance, in order to groom, as per your Profile.
Consult your Senior Consultants - WM (MM) for the same.

Multiple WD Applications for same WD component

Hello All,
How can we generate multiple web dynpro applications for the same Web Dynpro Component?
I think one way out was to specify different interface view name for each application. But in one of the applications, I can see that 2 different applications have same interface view but have generated different URL's and have different parameters.
Kindly help me out with this issue.

The functionality of a single Web Dynpro component can be accessed by defining multiple applications, each addressing a different interface view and/or a different inbound plug of the interface view. In order to define a Web Dynpro application, you must specify:
1) The component to be invoked
2) Which interface view of the root component will be used
3) Which inbound plug will act as the entry point for the nominated interface view (this inbound plug must be of type Startup)

Building SAP applications for iPhone, Android etc.

Hi All,
We have a requirement for building SAP online and offline applications for iPhone, Android, Windows phone. These applications would interface with SAP backend (ERP) for fetching data or for executing simple tasks like approvals etc.
We have developed thin client (online) applications using Webdynpro Java for Blackberry users. These applications are browser based applications (deployed on SAP Netweaver WAS) and are accessed through Blackberry browser. What I am not sure is whether the same approach/technology like Webdynpro for Java would work for handhelds like iPhone, Android and Windows phones.
Secondly whether vendors (like Apple) of iPhones, Android etc. provide specific connectors or frameworks for building SAP online/offline applications (or in other words what would be the mechanism for integrating iPhones, Android with SAP)
Lastly how (technology, architecture etc.) are SAP thick client or offline applications built for iPhone, Android etc.
Any pointers would be of great help.

Thanks for your quick response. When you say integrating with "Integrating Custom Client with DOE", do you mean the usage of SAP Mobile Infrastructure (now know SAP NetWeaver Mobile).
We are mainly looking at building online (thin client) applications and also parallely at building offline or thick client applications but that is second in priority.
What we have done so far
We have developed thin client (online) applications using Webdynpro Java (which interface with SAP backend systems)
for Blackberry users. These applications are browser based applications and are accessed through Blackberry browser. We are looking at similarly building applications for iPhone, Android and Windows phones probably using the same technology like Webdynpro Java. But we are not sure how well it would work on iPhone, Android etc. Also we were exploring to see if these vendors (iPhone, Android) provide some sort of connectors or framework for quickly developing and deploying SAP mobile thin client applications.
Please note that we are aware that using webservices in one generic approach.

Multiple SAP Deliveries for a single container

SAP is creating deliveries for single purchase order. Multiple Deliveries are shipped together in the same container. At the end of the day, within WM we only want one ASN (Advanced Shipping Notice)to contain all of the information for the one physical container on WM.

Hi Sam,
Different functionalities for a single webdynpro component can be achieved by many ways. Among them is the use of multiple applications. Say for example if you want different views/windows to be displayed at the start up, you can achieve it by specifying at the default window, for each every webdynpro application.
And if you want control the fields, say for example you want to display input fields as editable for one application and read only for other application, you can achieve it through application parameters. Based on parameters, in HANDLEDEFAULT method of window controller , you can specify the type of behaviour , whether it has to editable or not based on parameters and same can be used at context binding of UI properties.
Application configuration can be used for personalization.Web Dynpro ABAP Application Configuration. This tutorial would help you understanding the concept much better. There can be multiple application configurations for a single application.

This is a standard control.
System checks the value MAIL SAPSY in table T77S0 and for that specific subtype of 0105 does not allow multiple entries.
Changing the value in T77S0 - as indicated in its help - would harm your system and is not recommended.

if you have access to service.sap.com via S-User, you can download "SAP Enterprise Portal Security Guide" in the portal section. It has dedicated descriptions about SSO-Settings, also about netegrity.
You can also search help.sap.com about "SSO" which gives you overview descriptions.
On SAP Service Net, there is also an pdf "Integrating Security functions" in the Netweaver 2004s Portal section, where the description of the Java API for the PDK is included. This is very helpfull for coding.

We have decided not to implement EP in first phase of SAP implementation. But we need to enable SSO for other SAP and Non-SAP applications.

A client of our's uses SAP Enterprise Portal, and is using the SAP SSO, which is implemented with tickets, and requires the use of SAPSECULIB. My company provides an application for this client, and our application in hosted in our data center for the client, as a Software as a Service application, obviously across the internet. Our client, which owns a SAP license, has asked that we support the SAP SSO as a non-SAP SSO application. The client user's SSO ticket will be created from SAP EP, and then passed across the internet to our application, and we are to use that SSO ticket as an authentication ticket to our application. I beleive I know how to do this work technically, having reviewed the SAP document named: "Dynamic Library for Verifying SSO Tickets in Third-Party Software" Specification Version 2.00 December 2005.
My question is, does my company have the right to use the SAPSECULIB? Where is the official download and license download, that indicates we can download this library, and use it to support a SAP customer? We do not own a SAP license. Thank you for your help. I have searched many places in SAP support.
