Includes not working on a .PHP3 page

I had a page already set up as a basic html page, it is using
a template, plus some include files for the banner and footer on
the page.
I needed to make the page dynamic so that I could add a
variable to a form action...so I changed the file extension to
.php3
After I did this, the page and the variable work great,
except the include files no longer show up on the page. The
template file seems to be ok.
Any ideas of what I may have done wrong?

I'm not sure how old it is, but it is covered for 1 full year as long as it didn't take that 19 story dive.

  • I upgraded to version 9 from version 8. The following items do not work properly - menu, home page, navigation bar, wheel click. I backed up to version 8, and none of this stuff works right. How do I fix this?

    When I open Firefox, the bookmark menu is a little tab in the upper left corner. If I go to view and un-click bookmark menu and then view, click it, the standard menu bar shows up. The Back and Forward buttons don't work. The navigation window does not show the URL of the current page. When opening, the home page does not come up. The wheel click works on the bookmark bar, but not within a page. The menu (file, edit, etc) does not work after the first page. Version 8 worked well. When I upgraded to version 9, all this trouble started. I backed up to version 8, but the problem persists.

    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

    There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
    If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

    My Safari browser is not working well. Junk pages keep popping up and key pages, for me, appear intoxicated by alien pop ups preventing me navigate that page.
    I updated to latest Safari version (7.0.4) but the problem persists.
    I tried downloading a new version of Safari for Mac OS X Mavericks but couldn't find it available.
    Thanks for your help.

    The pop ups are malware. It's not necessary to reinstall Safari.

  • Php include not working

    Good Afternoon.
    I am having a hard time trying to find what needs to be set to allow url
    include statments in php on Netware 6.5 sp3, php5.
    I know my code is correct after trying it on an external server, and it
    seems all other php coding works. Just not the http includes as shown
    below:
    <?php
    include ('http://your.website.here/filenamehere.php');
    ?>
    php.ini is posted below:
    [PHP]
    ; About php.ini ;
    ; This file controls many aspects of PHP's behavior. In order for PHP to
    ; read it, it must be named 'php.ini'. PHP looks for it in the current
    ; working directory, in the path designated by the environment variable
    ; PHPRC, and in the path that was defined in compile time (in that order).
    ; Under Windows, the compile-time path is the Windows directory. The
    ; path in which the php.ini file is looked for can be overridden using
    ; the -c argument in command line mode.
    ; The syntax of the file is extremely simple. Whitespace and Lines
    ; beginning with a semicolon are silently ignored (as you probably
    guessed).
    ; Section headers (e.g. [Foo]) are also silently ignored, even though
    ; they might mean something in the future.
    ; Directives are specified using the following syntax:
    ; directive = value
    ; Directive names are *case sensitive* - foo=bar is different from FOO=bar.
    ; The value can be a string, a number, a PHP constant (e.g. E_ALL or
    M_PI), one
    ; of the INI constants (On, Off, True, False, Yes, No and None) or an
    expression
    ; (e.g. E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE), or a quoted string ("foo").
    ; Expressions in the INI file are limited to bitwise operators and
    parentheses:
    ; | bitwise OR
    ; & bitwise AND
    ; ~ bitwise NOT
    ; ! boolean NOT
    ; Boolean flags can be turned on using the values 1, On, True or Yes.
    ; They can be turned off using the values 0, Off, False or No.
    ; An empty string can be denoted by simply not writing anything after the
    equal
    ; sign, or by using the None keyword:
    ; foo = ; sets foo to an empty string
    ; foo = none ; sets foo to an empty string
    ; foo = "none" ; sets foo to the string 'none'
    ; If you use constants in your value, and these constants belong to a
    ; dynamically loaded extension (either a PHP extension or a Zend
    extension),
    ; you may only use these constants *after* the line that loads the
    extension.
    ; About this file ;
    ; This is the recommended, PHP 5-style version of the php.ini-dist file.
    It
    ; sets some non standard settings, that make PHP more efficient, more
    secure,
    ; and encourage cleaner coding.
    ; The price is that with these settings, PHP may be incompatible with some
    ; applications, and sometimes, more difficult to develop with. Using this
    ; file is warmly recommended for production sites. As all of the changes
    from
    ; the standard settings are thoroughly documented, you can go over each
    one,
    ; and decide whether you want to use it or not.
    ; For general information about the php.ini file, please consult the
    php.ini-dist
    ; file, included in your PHP distribution.
    ; This file is different from the php.ini-dist file in the fact that it
    features
    ; different values for several directives, in order to improve
    performance, while
    ; possibly breaking compatibility with the standard out-of-the-box
    behavior of
    ; PHP. Please make sure you read what's different, and modify your scripts
    ; accordingly, if you decide to use this file instead.
    ; - register_globals = Off [Security, Performance]
    ; Global variables are no longer registered for input data (POST, GET,
    cookies,
    ; environment and other server variables). Instead of using $foo, you
    must use
    ; you can use $_REQUEST["foo"] (includes any variable that arrives
    through the
    ; request, namely, POST, GET and cookie variables), or use one of the
    specific
    ; $_GET["foo"], $_POST["foo"], $_COOKIE["foo"] or $_FILES["foo"],
    depending
    ; on where the input originates. Also, you can look at the
    ; import_request_variables() function.
    ; Note that register_globals is going to be depracated (i.e., turned
    off by
    ; default) in the next version of PHP, because it often leads to
    security bugs.
    ; Read http://php.net/manual/en/security.registerglobals.php for
    further
    ; information.
    ; - register_long_arrays = Off [Performance]
    ; Disables registration of the older (and deprecated) long predefined
    array
    ; variables ($HTTP_*_VARS). Instead, use the superglobals that were
    ; introduced in PHP 4.1.0
    ; - display_errors = Off [Security]
    ; With this directive set to off, errors that occur during the
    execution of
    ; scripts will no longer be displayed as a part of the script output,
    and thus,
    ; will no longer be exposed to remote users. With some errors, the
    error message
    ; content may expose information about your script, web server, or
    database
    ; server that may be exploitable for hacking. Production sites should
    have this
    ; directive set to off.
    ; - log_errors = On [Security]
    ; This directive complements the above one. Any errors that occur
    during the
    ; execution of your script will be logged (typically, to your server's
    error log,
    ; but can be configured in several ways). Along with setting
    display_errors to off,
    ; this setup gives you the ability to fully understand what may have
    gone wrong,
    ; without exposing any sensitive information to remote users.
    ; - output_buffering = 4096 [Performance]
    ; Set a 4KB output buffer. Enabling output buffering typically
    results in less
    ; writes, and sometimes less packets sent on the wire, which can often
    lead to
    ; better performance. The gain this directive actually yields greatly
    depends
    ; on which Web server you're working with, and what kind of scripts
    you're using.
    ; - register_argc_argv = Off [Performance]
    ; Disables registration of the somewhat redundant $argv and $argc
    global
    ; variables.
    ; - magic_quotes_gpc = off [Performance]
    ; Input data is no longer escaped with slashes so that it can be sent
    into
    ; SQL databases without further manipulation. Instead, you should use
    the
    ; function addslashes() on each input element you wish to send to a
    database.
    ; - variables_order = "GPCS" [Performance]
    ; The environment variables are not hashed into the $_ENV. To access
    ; environment variables, you can use getenv() instead.
    ; - error_reporting = E_ALL [Code Cleanliness, Security(?)]
    ; By default, PHP surpresses errors of type E_NOTICE. These error
    messages
    ; are emitted for non-critical errors, but that could be a symptom of
    a bigger
    ; problem. Most notably, this will cause error messages about the use
    ; of uninitialized variables to be displayed.
    ; - allow_call_time_pass_reference = Off [Code cleanliness]
    ; It's not possible to decide to force a variable to be passed by
    reference
    ; when calling a function. The PHP 4 style to do this is by making the
    ; function require the relevant argument by reference.
    ; Language Options ;

    ; libraries that are meant for redistribution, or deployment on PHP

    ; be supported on the target server. For portable, redistributable code,

    ; Output buffering allows you to send header lines (including cookies) even
    ; after you send body content, at the price of slowing PHP's output layer a
    ; bit. You can enable output buffering during runtime by calling the
    output
    ; buffering functions. You can also enable output buffering for all files
    by
    ; setting this directive to On. If you wish to limit the size of the
    buffer
    ; to a certain size - you can use a maximum number of bytes instead of
    'On', as
    ; a value for this directive (e.g., output_buffering=4096).
    output_buffering = 4096
    ; You can redirect all of the output of your scripts to a function. For
    ; example, if you set output_handler to "mb_output_handler", character
    ; encoding will be transparently converted to the specified encoding.
    ; Setting any output handler automatically turns on output buffering.
    ; Note: People who wrote portable scripts should not depend on this ini
    ; directive. Instead, explicitly set the output handler using
    ob_start().
    ; Using this ini directive may cause problems unless you know what
    script
    ; is doing.
    ; Note: You cannot use both "mb_output_handler" with "ob_iconv_handler"
    ; and you cannot use both "ob_gzhandler" and
    "zlib.output_compression".
    ; Note: output_handler must be empty if this is set 'On' !!!!
    ; Instead you must use zlib.output_handler.
    ;output_handler =

    ; Valid values for this option are 'off', 'on', or a specific buffer size
    ; to be used for compression (default is 4KB)
    ; Note: Resulting chunk size may vary due to nature of compression. PHP
    ; outputs chunks that are few hundreds bytes each as a result of
    ; compression. If you prefer a larger chunk size for better
    ; performance, enable output_buffering in addition.
    ; Note: You need to use zlib.output_handler instead of the standard
    ; output_handler, or otherwise the output will be corrupted.
    zlib.output_compression = Off

    One problem is that you write into the output stream from an action method and don't know what's already in the output stream. Once there is one byte written to hte stream (which you can't know from inside the action method) the pdf stream does not behave as you think it would.
    Next thing is that you use createRootApplicationModule but never release it. This will get you out of resources error eventually.
    A better approach would be to put this code in a servlet and stream the report from there. In the servlet you have control over the output stream.
    Check my blog http://tompeez.wordpress.com/2011/12/16/jdev11-1-2-1-0-handling-imagesfiles-in-adf-part-3/ where I show how to serve images from a servlet which can even use the application module pool from the application (no need to use createRootApplicationModule at all). All you have to do is to exchange the part where I get and stream the image data to your needs.

  • Server-side includes not working

    Running CF9.x on Apache 2.2 Win 7.
    I inherited an older html multiple page site that we are breaking down into includes using html server-side includes:
    e.g. <!--#include file="includes/sidebar.html" -->,  and saving the page as a .html file, which is then <cfincluded> in a .cfm file.
    Is there a way to get <!--#include file="includes/sidebar.html" --> include working on a CF page? All I see is the contents of the page, but none of the sidebar.html, or header.html, etc.
    I know I could switch to cfincludes, but the boss LOVES to muck around with the html side of things.
    TIA,
    Doug

    I know I could switch to cfincludes, but the boss LOVES to muck around with the html side of things.
    All the more reason to do it, surely?
    But anyway...
    I've never used a server-side include, but it looks to me that they just load the file and return it at that position in the document.
    For CF code to be executed, the file needs to be REQUESTED, so it won't be a starter with server-side includes.

  • Image hyperlinks not working for internal menu pages

    Hi, I'm after some help with problems publishing my iweb site to an external folder. My website is www.gingham.com.au and I have uploaded it using Fetch.
    My main problem is with the menu bar - it's an image which i have then created hyperlinks over various headings to link back to the other pages in the site. This isn't working - any ideas on what I could check for?
    I also had an issue with the T_String error, i read a little about it but am very new to websites so deleted the first line of code as was listed in another post.
    Thanks for any feedback.

    I have had problems with link not working or they forget where they are supose dto link too.
    At one time I had a HP web page link appearing in the text box. Not sure why, I haven't visited the HP website for months.
    I just have to go top-down and reassign all the links, and do it a few times.
    I think the problem comes from when designing the website from teh start,if you are like me you will be adding and deleting elements and changing lots of stuff to make the site look the way you want.
    I think iWeb has problems with the deleting of objects, the more you change in a single session the more problems you will get.
    Now I quit iWeb on a regular basis, but now I have setttled for a style of my pages I will not be making big changes so iWeb should settle down for me.

  • Some hyperlinks are not working e.g. #page-item and a name="#page-item" how can I resolve that

    It's a toplink to a page item on the same page internal (hyperlink) that is not working.
    E.g. toplink e.g. #ssc01 to the internal pagelink
    <a name="#ssc01"><b>Algemene Informatie</b></a>

    Don't add the hash (#) to the name attribute. The hash is used in the URL as separator and should not be in the name.
    <pre><nowiki><a name="ssc01">Algemene Informatie</a> </nowiki></pre>

  • Liquid Layout does not work with extreme long pages

    (Solution at the end)
    Hi there.
    I have a layout for iPad with a width of 1024 and variable height.
    I now need an alternative layout for iPad HD. So I try to use liquid layout to alternate my layout to 2048 width and height x 2.
    The maximum size in InDesign is 15552px. So I managed to get all my SD layouts below 7776px.
    to sum things up:
    iPad SD: 1024x7776
    transform into
    iPad HD: 2048x15552
    Problem is, in this case the option to scale everything automatically gets completely ignored.
    Another layout, which uses only text and no images, boxes or multimedia gets transformed correctly.
    Does anybody have a tip for me how I can work around it?
    Thanks in advance.
    p.s.: Adobe, please increase the maximum sizes for documents
    Solution:
    Aaaand I just got it. Specify a new preset for your document-sizes: 2048x15552. Now if you use the page tool just click the new (in my case) "iPad HD" and choose liquid layout: scale.
    Works like a charm

    I am using Automator to find files with the .pages
    extension and then copy them to another folder, which
    lists the copied Pages files by name but with Zero
    KB! The files will not open - error: the index.xml
    file is missing.
    Any ideas on how to get a Pages file to copy with
    Automator?
    Hi Kurt
    To answer the title of your message: no, Pages does not work with Automator.
    But that's not really what you're asking. You really want to know how to copy Pages documents using Automator.
    To help you we need to know what Actions you're using in Automator and the parameters you're using eg the Filter Finder Items action (using a pages file extension) and the Copy Finder Items actions. Pls let us know how you're doing this and we'll try to help.
    Thanks.

  • Windows 8.1 IE 11 not working except on Adobe page. Please help!

    I updated to Windows 8.1 IE 11. Since that time I have been told by several websites I need to get a flash player. I went to Adobe help page and did all it said. Adobe page is the only page my flash works perfectly.  My flash still does not work and now I am getting an error window that I do not understand. Error #2440? Not sure if I remembered that right. Also, just so you know I did try to change my browser. This actually made it worse. Any ideas that can help would be great. I am about five seconds away to playing baseball with this new computer!

    The problem is the abomination called Internet Exploder 11.
    Microsoft thought they were really being cool when the wrote the code for it, and the intentionally screwed up the "User-Agent Strings", which websites use to identify the browser and provide the proper content for it.
    Thansk to the "geniuses" <sacrasm intended> in Redmond, websites see IE11 as either a Gecko browser (Firefox) or a Webkit browser (Opera or Safari). Problem is since IE DOESN'T have that browser engine, the identification is false, and it totally screws everything else up. (See: IE11's User-Agent Strings).
    Since the pages can't recognize the browser, they don't recognize any of the plugins, like Flash Player. So far, Microsoft has made NO indication that they have any plan to fix it soon. Personally, I hope this is what it finally takes for EVERYONE EVERYWHERE to realize what a massive pile of garbage IE is and always has been.
    Microsoft's recommendation is to use Compatibility View for affected pages, and "pretend" you're using an different browser. Trouble with that is it has seen limited success at best, and you have to individually enable it for EVERY page that has problems.
    I'm not big on "pretending" so I recommend actually using another browser.
    Firefox (from Mozilla)
    Opera (from Opera)
    Safari (from Apple)
    Chrome (from Google)
    ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.

  • Java script will not work after creating new page

    I am using dreamweaver cs3 and have a java script to rotate a banner in a template.  This script has worked fine in the past when I created pages in Dreamwever.  Now the  script works fine only when I test it in a template but when I try to upload to my ISP the script will no longer work.  At first I thought it was the ISP made changes but the person who sits next to me running the same version of Dreamweaver can create a page and the java works.  The java is placed in a template, tested by viewing in a brower and it works, however once I try to create a new page using the template the scriipt will not work.  To get around this I have the person sitting next to me save my template and then I can create pages.  Also if I save the template with my pc and it updates the pages created by the template the java will no longer work.
    This is very frustrating as I cannot create or modify my template on this pc.  What would prevent this from working?

    OK - now we are on to something ..... the script on the template only contains:
    function randomImages(){
      if(counter == (imgs.length)){
        counter = 0;
    MM_swapImage('rotator', '', imgs[counter++]);
      setTimeout('randomImages()', delay);
    However when I create a new page from the template with this javascript in it the code changes to:
    function randomImages(){
      if(counter == (imgs.length)){
        counter = 0;
    MM_swapImage('rotator', '', imgs[counter++]imgs[i]);
    function randomImages(){
      if(counter == (imgs.length)){
        counter = 0;
    MM_swapImage('rotator', '', imgs[counter++]);
      setTimeout('randomImages()', delay);
