Including Flash Player Into Ebook

Hi,
I am wondering if anyone could give me just a little
direction regarding inserting/including the adobe free flv player
into my ebook that I'm creating?
I have no idea as to how to go about including it in the
ebooks html (or whatever) so that users can already have it in
there in order to view my videos.
Also, I am planning on streaming the video in .flv files into
my several pages (around 100 or so) of the ebook from a website -
to conserve space when folks download the book. I'm not sure as to
whether I'd need to have the player set up in each individual page
or just in one area of the book.
I would like to have either a simple text, such as "Video" or
possibly some sort of video icon that can be clicked on from within
the book - then the flv file pop up right there on the page.
Would anyone be able to help me out in this area. I
appreciate your time. Thanks so much.

I am not sure if you can find the answer to your question here.

  • How create an exe-file including Flash-Player?

    Hi,
I'm a beginner in Captivate and I have to develop an
elearning course about our software tools. It has to be distributed
to clients by a server. But the user don'T have internet access and
admin rights to install the flash player!
Is there any solution to create an exe-file including the
flash player without installing on each client?
For any help, I will be very happy!
    Thank's
    nadine

    Hi Nadine
As I understand it, Flash Player is included when you create
.EXE output from Captivate. However, if your end users have PCs
that are too restricted, when they attempt to run your .EXE file,
they cannot view the content because the .EXE temporarily installs
a player and it can't because the PC is too restricted.
Are you certain that your users don't already have Flash
player installed? Have you tested and you know for sure that you
can't simply upload a .SWF/.HTM to the server and have them view
    it?
    Cheers... Rick

  • Including Flash Player in my install

    Greetings,
I have two questions regarding the flash players
    functionality.
    1. I see there are two installs for windows (IE,Plugin
Capable Browser). If I include the "Plugin Capable Browser" version
will it work in IE. I only want to include one player in my setup.
    2. Will the version 8 player installer determine newer
versions of flash, such as version 9, and abort it's installation?
    Thanks,
    Ross

    Ross,
If you're planning to distribute FLash Player inside your
application you'll need to complete the free Flash Player
    Distribution License (
    http://www.adobe.com/license).
The answer to question #1 is that if you want to support IE
windows AND all other browsers then you need to install both the
Flash Player ActiveX control AND the plugin.
The answer to #2 is 'no'.

  • How do I embed a flash player into my website

I have an mp4 vid that I need to play on a website...
    tia!

you specify the path to your f4v/flv and everything else you load into your swf using actionscript (or sometimes the properties panel).
the correct path is usually relative to the html file's location, not the swf.  if both html and swf are in the same directory, there's no issue over the correct path.
in any case, you need to upload swfobject_modified.js to your Scripts directory.  did you do that?
and you need to upload that f4v file to your main directory.  did you do that?

  • Windows 8.1 not recognizing Adobe Flash Player and Adobe help not helpful

I have a new laptop with Windows 8.1 64 bit. I tried to view a video and it said I did not have flash player. I went to download adobe flash player and your website said I had it intergrated into 8.1 and that it was either disabled, not the right version or that active X filters needed to be clear. I followed all instructions. Flash was installed with the 8.1 64 bit version. Flash was enabled for all websites and I cleared the active X filter and I still get told that I don't have install flash because it is intergrated and but it does not work. Please help I am in a cycle where Adobe is not helping just sending me in a circle. Thank you

Your problems aren't with Adobe or Flash Player. They're with Internet explorer 11 and Microsoft.
IE11 (Windows 7, 8 & 8.1) has been an abomination since its release October 18, 2013. Yahoo, Facebook, BBC, ESPN and dozens of other sites and domains have had trouble recognizing the Browser. If the site doesn't recognize the browser, it won't recognize any plugins in the browser, including Flash Player. Microsoft was made aware of the problems by millions of users within hours of the release, and so far they've shown no sign that they intend to fix it anytime soon. Their recommendation is to enable Compatibility View for affected pages. Two problems with that are that it's had only limited success, and you must enable it manually for each affected page. Basically, they're telling you to "pretend" you're not using IE11.
I'm not big on "pretending", and I recommend actually using something different. Something that works where IE11 won't.
    Firefox (from Mozilla)
    Chrome (from Google)
    Safari (from Apple)
    Opera (from Opera)
ANY of those will work where IE isn't recognized, and they use the Flash Player Plug-in (for other browsers), except for Chrome, which has its own plugin embedded in by Google.

  • Scam Flash Player Download Site

Apologies in advance if this is posted to the wrong forum.
Looking down the list, I couldn't find one that seemed more relevant.
There is a scam Flash Player download site at:
    flashplayer.10-downloadcenter.com/
Typing "flash," "flash player," "flash player 10," and other obvious search terms into Google brings the site up at the top of the page.
It is using graphics that look very much like Adobe's trademarks which can lead people to believe the site is connected with Adobe.  They are also using phrases such as "Flash Player 10" that would appear to be Adobe trademarks.  The first time I looked at the site, I thought I was at an Adobe page because the trademark appeared to be there, and there was no notice that an Adobe trademark was being used - something one almost always sees at sites where a trademark in use is not owned by the site. If I were Adobe, I'd have my magnifying glass going over that site, looking for infringement.  (Who knows - maybe they've already looked ... )
There is a lot of stuff on the page that could lead one to believe they are Adobe, offering enhanced software and services.  And - bingo - selling is what they are doing.  Get out your credit card to download their stuff - including Flash Player 9.
The trick, when reading the fine print, is that they are selling "memberships."  I wonder how many people have downloaded Flash Player from this site, believing they are buying it directly from Adobe.  My niece did.  She's trying to get the charge removed from her credit card as I type this message.

Further information regarding suspicious actions of this site.
The site had been asked to cancel the transaction within two hours of it taking place.  Some of the charges involved extra "premium" software sold along with the "Flash Player 10" download.  An extra ~$10 for software that would supposedly increase download speeds greatly.  The software all turned out to be PC only, with no mention of there being no Mac version, and no place to check.  The site indicated that Flash Player 10 would be downloaded, but all that was available was Flash Player 9 - which was probably already on the machine.  One also has to wonder whether their versions don't have zombie payloads.
An archive of the the purchase confirmation page was fortunately kept to save the confirmation numbers and other information.  Among the information on the page was the way the charge would appear on the charge card.  Checking the card company's invoice, no charge by that name existed.  But there was a charge with a completely different label for about the right amount.  Calling the (866) number got us to a phone center in India.  Sure enough, the mis-labeled charge was the charge in question. The customer service person said that the amount will be refunded within 7 days.  We'll see.
Note that an immediate request for cancellation had been made, so the charge shouldn't even have appeared.  The site boasts a 7-day money-back guarantee.
I hope that someone, somewhere, will look into this site.  I was looking for some kind of complaint link at Google, but haven't found one yet.  The site appears not only in the search results, but they run an ad at the top of the Google search page - very visible.
Once again, I hope Adobe will take a look at this highly questionable site.

First, Flash Player is up to version 12 so I have to wonder where you're getting the file you're trying to install from. This link is direct to Adobe, where you can get the latest version. This link will tell you which version (if any) you currently have installed. Always get Adobe products, including Flash Player, from Adobe, since other sites which tell you you need it and then offer it may be installing malware instead.

  • 11/6/2014 - Beta - Flash Player 15.0.0.222

The latest Flash Player 15 beta builds are now available. Beta builds can be downloaded from labs.adobe.com.  Today's build brings the Flash Player beta up to date with next week's official release.
New Features for Flash Player 15:
    Relaxing Stage3D Render Target Clear
In previous versions of Stage3D, after switching the render texture through Context3D::setRenderToTexture, you were required to clear it before drawing. In this release, we're removing this limitation and optimizing the use of render textures. This change will allow you to further optimize and reuse depth and stencil buffers between different render textures.
For additional information, please see Relaxing Render Target Clear Operation in Stage 3D.
Improved support for browser zoom levels - Windows 8
Flash Player now has improved support for browser zoom factors other than 100% on Internet Explorer on Windows 8.x.  Devices, like the Microsoft Surface tablets, default to a zoom level of 150%.  In the past, this could cause problems with Flash Player and some 3D content.  With our new implementation, we can now scale the content and 3D buffers to keep everything aligned.  In addition, Flash Player introduces an option to render to an increased Stage3D back buffer, rather than scaling, on browser zoom to keep the resolution of the rendered content high. This option allows to the stage3D buffer to change in size in synch with the change in the browser zoom factor.  Developers are notified of this change with a new ZOOM_FACTOR_CHANGE event.
For additional detail, please see the article Improved Resolution of Stage3D Content on Browser Zoom
Flash Player Fullscreen Orientation Change - Windows
Flash Player will now detect and appropriately scale your content to fit best in a fullscreen display when your device orientation is changed.  This change is specific to Windows and is implemented across all browsers.  We're focusing on providing the best tablet experience possible.  A resize event will fire when in fullscreen mode and the device orientation changes.  Developers, if your content does not resize, you will need to handle the resize event appropriately.
For additional details, please see the Guide for Supporting Screen Orientation with Full-Screen Flash Player Content.
Hardware video decoding on Chrome (PPAPI) for Windows
We're pleased to announce that hardware video decoding is now enabled by default for Chrome users on Windows.  This feature will drastically reduce the CPU usage and improve performance on supported videos players.  We're working closely with Google to bring this feature to OS X and will provide additional details when available.
Automatic software fall back with StageVideo
Flash Player 15 now supports a Software version of StageVideo that provides an automatic failover to the software version when hardware StageVideo is not available. To leverage this automatic failover, the swf apps need to be compiled for Flash Player 15 and above.
When the swfs are compiled for Flash Player 15 and above, and when hardware StageVideo is unavailable, the app will get a StageVideoAvailability event as earlier, but instead of being "Unavailable" it will ALWAYS be "available", and the reason will always be "noError". The app will no longer need to implement a Video object failover as the failover is automatic inside flash player. The apps can still choose to use Video object instead of StageVIdeo if needed.
Hardware StageVideo availability is dependent on a number of factors, including:
Browser hardware rendering support: If available, all wMode based apps will support hardware StageVideo. If not available, wMode=direct based apps will be the only ones that will support hardware StageVideo, unless there are other exceptions, like the ones mentioned below.
    On Windows:
IE11: IE has an accelerated pipeline and the FlashPlayer is HW accelerated in all wmode, so StageVideo should always be available. Note that the decision to use the HW accelerate rendering pipeline reside in IE.
Firefox: There is currently no HW accelerated pipeline available in Firefox on windows and only wMode direct will have StageVideo available all other wMode should generate a unavailable event.
Chrome: Pepper has HW acceleration in all wMode, but some restrictions apply. For example Chrome will refuse to use HW acceleration on Windows XP and it has its own driver blacklisting mechanism. It is also possible for the user to disable the HW acceleration in the settings panel. Chrome exposes a somewhat useful page to allow one to see the status of its gpu acceleration: chrome://gpu/
    On Mac:
Safari: All wMode should expose StageVideo
Firefox: All wModes should expose StageVideo
Chrome: All wMode should expose StageVideo, with the same limitations as the windows version.
Driver version: Certain older drivers may not support hardware StageVideo
User settings: If a user turns off hardware acceleration, then hardware StageVideo will not be available
Full Screen: Hardware StageVIdeo is always available in Full Screen mode.
When the hardware StageVideo fails because of browser support, wMode, driver version or user settings, starting with Flash Player 15, SW StageVideo will be used automatically without needing any configuration or code in the app.
PPAPI Installers for Windows and Mac - Extended Beta
We're pleased to announce that we now have PPAPI installers for the standard version of Flash Player for Windows and Mac.  Previously, this version of the Player was available only as an integrated component of Google Chrome.  With the introduction of these installers, Flash Player is now available for all Chromium based browsers using the PPAPI interface.  Please note that these installers are not required nor used by Google Chrome.  Chrome will continue to include Flash Player without requiring any additional installation.
Both the standard and content debugging versions of the PPAPI installers are now available on http://labs.adobe.com.
    New MMS.CFG Flag - EnableInsecureJunctionBehavior
Flash Player 15 restricted the ability for Flash Player in Internet Explorer to write to paths that traversed Junction files in Windows. This affected some enterprise organizations that relied on redirected user folders that also leveraged Junctions, and we have introduced a new mms.cfg that allows organizations to revert to the insecure behavior as temporary pain relief. We recommend that administrators only use this flag as a short-term workaround.
This Flag only works in Internet Explorer with Protected Mode disabled.
To enable this behavior, add the following line to your mms.cfg file:
    EnableInsecureJunctionBehavior = 1
    Testing Focus:
Hardware Video Decoding is now on by default for Chrome users. If you experience playback or stability problems when watching Flash-based video, please report them to the Beta forums. Including the output of the DirectX Diagnostic Tool (dxdiag) would be especially helpful.

    Multiple Stability and Security Fixes
    About the Beta Channel
Beta Versions of Flash Player are available for automatic installation via our Background Update service.  Please subscribe to automatically install or receive update availability notifications at runtime

Thanks Clark for addressing my problem.
I was out of town, just returned today. Hence some delay in my reply.
The application being at an enterprise level and huge, I am not sure how to share a simplified source.
The complexity of the elements getting created in the application may also cause error in rendering at that zoom level.
Let me find out some way out of how to share more details on this.
I will be able to share the swf link with you after discussing the confidentiality terms with the concerned person.
    I appreciate your patience.
    Have a good day!
