Including sound file and browser plug-ins

Hi,
I've done som PDF:s with included soundfiles. I'm running XP and have the latest Acrobat Reader installed. When opening the docs from the web-site it looks just fine no matter what web-browser is used. The icon to play the sound file is there and the sound plays.
However, I just tested it from the customers Mac and from that machine there was no player button represented. I would be most greatful if someone in this forum has specific knowledge about mini requirements (OS/Browsers/Acrobat version) for those PDF:s to be able to display a play button?

You can't convert to .idml by changing the file extension. You must export the file from the oringal version as a .idml file.
That said, you can use jongware's script to identify the version of the file, even if it won't open: Adobe Forums: [Ann] Identify Your InDesign File
That said, InBooklet SE was part of InDesign CS3, but I see it listed inthe plugins used. I also see a number of what look like third-party plugins listed, and that may be the problem. What's happening when you try to open the file?

ID CS5.5 IDML file and missing plug-ins...need help

I'm currently running ID CS5.5 and trying to open a CS5 file, ( I think). However, even after converting it to a IDML file extension it just hangs and forces me to shut down. The whole purpose of this is there are several plug-ins including InBooklet SE that I no longer have access to. I'm unable to find the other plugins as well but need to be able to work in this file as the original creator. Any help or suggestions?

Are you using the latest version of Silverkeeper? - v.2.0.2 is stated to be compatible with Snow Leopard.

Chrome and Firefox plug-ins not installed with latest version of Reader

I'm running OS X 10.7.2 and just installed the latest version of Acrobat Reader and would like to use the plug-ins it is supposed to come with to view PDFs in Chrome and Firefox. However, the version of Reader that I downloaded (10.1.1) doesn't seem to include the plug-ins. A few additional pieces of information:
1) Acrobat Reader > Contents > Plug-ins contains NO files.
2) In Reader, the Preferences > Internet > "Display PDF in browser" box is checked.
3) In Chrome, Acrobat Reader is not listed on chrome://plugins
4) In Firefox, Acrobat Reader is not include in the list of Plug-Ins
I already rebooted my computer, and also deleted and re-installed Adobe Reader. Now at a loss for what to do next. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!!

How do I upgrade Skype browser plug ins?

One of my system checker programs said that I should update to the latest Skype, so I just updated to 5.10.0.116 and I reran my checker program and it said that I should update the Skype browser plug ins, but I don't know how to do that. Both my Skype Browser Helper and Click to Call are 5.9.0.9216. How do I get the latest browser files? If it matters, I have Win 7.

How do I get the Apple tv to play out of my Bose speakers that has the typical white and red plug ins? Do I need an "optical audio" cord (that is what is available as a plug in on the back of the Apple tv that has the red and the white on the other side?

My TV is recognizing the Apple TV and the sound is playing out of the TV speakers, but even though I plug my speakers into my TV, it does not play what the TV speakers are playing. Do I have to plg the speakers into the actual Apple TV unit? If so, do I need an "optical audio" plug in?

RCA as that is analog and optical and hdmi are digital

Ah, yes- that is an ultra high DPI (dots per inch) display. This is a known issue in Flash Player, which Adobe is working on fixing.
In the mean time, you can get some videos to have normal-sized controls by switching Youtube to the HTML5 video player:

PS I'm still new to Macs so the more broken down the better.

Adobe Flash Player 11.8.800.42 is the most recent version from Adobe. It is a pre-release version. I am using it without any noticeable problems.
The current stable version is Download 11.7.700.169.

yes i know that way, but i want to have a big sound file and keep some pointers in an array with the seconds i want, depending some user actions, the whole sound file is usable, but in different user actions different parts of it will be played! Is there a way doing that? Without splitting the file into pieces?
A similar example could be found at youtube comments when someone writes a time point...example 3:25 of the video this refers to a link and when its pressed you auto transferred to the 3:25 'th second of the video....I tried to give you a related usage...I dont know if you understand what i mean...

Button for iTunes scripts and iTunes Plug-Ins is gone in 7.3.x

In iTunes 7.3.x I am missing the upper button for iTunes scripts and ITunes Plug-Ins for the little add on programs like iTunes-BPM and iTunes-Lame.
Does anybody know a trick how I get this button to show up again?

No idea why it's not working. Never seen this problem before.
Only thing I can think of is make sure the name of the Scripts folder is spelled correctly (not an extra space) /usr/library/iTunes/Scripts/.

There's no Auval or RA or Garritan Personal Orchestra in the Audio Units Manager in Logic Pro. Though Stylus RMX that I also use and Kontakt Player 2 are there and successfully validated. The RA and Kontakt Player component are exactly in the place you said they would be.
I've since discovered that RA does not in fact work in Logic Express. As for whether it's loading up in Rosetta or PPC version - how do I tell that?

Mozila Firefox is always asking me to click to activate and use plug-ins like Adobe Reader, Flash, Youtube videos and other plug-ins which it never did before.

I am using Mozilla Firefox and it is now bugging me. After updating it, it is now asking me to always click to activate and use plug-ins like Adobe Reader, Flash, Youtube videosand other plug-ins. I click on activiate all plug-ins but it still asks me to do it each time that I try to use Flash, Adobe Reader, watch a You Tube Video or anything. Why won't Mozilla Firefox automatically actaivate the plug-ins like it used to do. I tried to follow directions on our website for fixing this but it did not work. I am running

In the past, to protect you from [https://support.mozilla.org/kb/use-plugins-play-audio-video-games plugins] that have stability or security issues, Firefox could only turn off the problematic plugin. Now Firefox can prevent the plugin from running automatically (which prevents many issues) and then let you choose to run or update the plugin. User presets and external plug-ins missing after V 2.6 upgrade

I just upgraded to V2.6 and noticed that all my user Presets for Develope and Print Modules have gone missing. It also happened to all the third party plug-ins software. While the software can be re installed, are the missing user presets gone forever? Isn't LR intelligent enough to leave the user presets alone during an upgrade? Doesn't LR back them up like the catalogue files are backed up? How can I prevent this from happening for any future release upgrade? All this is counter productive. Appreciate any suggestions.Thank you.

You are spot on, no wonder you are the Community Professional and a member for over four years. Some of my presets are in the Lightroom Preset folder and unchecking the Store Presets with Catalog checkbox revealed the presets and by copying the rest of the presets into the same folder all my presets are now visible and better than before. Gotta go now as it is back to business as usual with nothing missing. I simply love this program!
