Inclusion of new hierarchy

Hi,
We have a cube in production. In it we have certain infoobjects for which we
are using hierarchies on the reports.
In case, we create a new hierarchy on an infoobject which is used in the cube...what adjustments do we need to do to make this reflect during query design? Do existing queries get affected?

Hi,
There is no impact in the query design if you add a new hierarchy in the datawarehouse.
However, your end users will not see it, as long you do not insert it in the query design or make it variable help to a selection screen.

your existing queries wouldnt be affected. As you would have pointed to the hierarchy that was already there. If you need to point the query to the new hierarchy, you need to change the IO properties in the query to point the new one. Or if you want the users to have a choice to pick either one of the query, create a hierarchy variable to let them get the option.

DSO or ODS "Insert New Hierarchy Nodes" under Data Fields

When you insert info objects under the Data Fields in DSO right mouse click on the Data Fields icon and you will find Insert New Hierarchy Nodes . I created a hierarchy node with infoobjects associating with it which will be visible under the Filters Folder in BEx Query designer as a seperate folder. I can add them to the infoobjects from this folder into the query. I did not know how to apply this functionality in Queries and what it really does. My guess was you can create dynamic hierarchy using characteristic infoobjects from transactional data.Any ideas or links to documentation. This option was available from 7.X in DSO's and i think even in 3.x ODS.

Insert new hierarchy nodes for key figures

Hi All,
In BI 7.0. when you right click on the key figure folder , you get an option called " insert new hierarchy node". Can anyone please explain what is this feature for. Is is just for reporting purpose where you can drill down for a particular key figure for more clarity. Thanks in advance.

This is for reporting purpose.
For example you have four key figures which consists the "TOTAL DEMAND".
Suppose TOTAL DEMAND = Purchase Requistion + Planned Order + Purchase Order + Production Order
We may provide hierarchy on TOTAL DEMAND, so that in display you may expand TOTAL DEMAND. When expanding TOTAL DEMAND it will show all four key figures with the total numbers in TOTAL DEMAND.

Is it possible to import a new hierarchy into an existing version?

I want to add a new hierarchy to an existing version . Is it possible to do via import process?

The import process by definition always creates its own version. The process to incorporate a new hierarchy int an existing version is as follows:
1. Create the IMPORT and run the import into a new version that you specify.
2. Validate that the hierarchy in the new version is as you want it.
3. Create a BLENDER and run the blend using the new version as the source and the version you want as the target. Make sure you blend the properties that you created during the import process as well.
4. Validate that the BLEND was successful into the working version you wanted it to go and that the properties and structure are as you want them.
5. Delete the new version you created in steps 1&2 above.
Following these steps will incorporate the new hierarchy into whatever existing working version you want.

Changes in Bex and web page when adding a new hierarchy...

Currently when we add a new hierarchy - we need to make a change to both the hier workbook in BEX as well as the web page.
can any body help me what are the new changes?..

Bala,
To my understanding only if you use the hierarchy then you have to make changes otherwise it is not necessary.
Run the Workbooks and Web Pages and check out whether you are getting any problem.

Problem in Transporting the changes in Payslip after inclusion of new WT

Dear Experts,
Here we have added the new wagetypes in Payslip Through Transction code PE51 in Dev Client.And the changes were saved in a Transport request.After movement to Quality the respective changes are not shown up.Then we checked the Transport request and is showing only the respective Payslip and is not showing any config part in the TP Request.
Could you please tell me the way of inclusion of Changes in the Transport Reqest.

What should i do now.Shall i delete the WT in the Form from DEV and save them ina new request and adding of the same Wt in the same new Transport request .

Inclusive / exclusive keyword hierarchy

Keywords in a hierarchy should be inclusive or exclusive of child keywords if desired (parent-child relationships). For example, if I have a brother named Jack, and he has a wife name Jill and a son named Bill I might created the following hierarchy to show a logical relationship.
David (me)
---Jack
------Jill
------Bill
If I select David I probably only want to see photos of David, not Jack, Jill and Bill. Having a switch to hide or show child keywords would make LR much more usable.

I see this as related to the up roar over sub folders always being visible. I think the question is how much control do we want. We could have a global filter on the toolbar with the others. Check it, and you see all sub items for selected folders, collections, and keywords. We could have a check box on each header so you could select which you want sub items visible. For the ultimate in control, but not ease, we could have it be in the context menu for each folder, collection, or keyword that has a child. I'm leaning toward the second one, but I'd like to hear arguments.

Creating new hierarchy based on existing r/3 hierarchy & loading

Hi,
We have an existing hierarchy in BW which we bring in from SAP R/3.
I want to use the majority of this hierarchy but I need it in a different sequence. If I copy this existing hierarchy and then re-structure it to how I need it, I assume that whenever any changes are made to the existing hierarchy, that these changes won't filter through to the hierarchy I need to create.
If my assumption is correct, does anyone have any suggestions as to what, if anything, I can do in order to make any changes in the existing hierarchy come through to the new one without any manual intervention.

The 4th option is to write a code in CMOD and restructure the internal table there itself. In this case you do not need worry about the change in the hierarchy. Please let me know if this helps.

Authorization to new hierarchy node (Profit center) in 3.5 Transaction code

Dear Colleagues,
I have an autorization problem that I wish you can help me with.
I have a (3.5) profit center hierarcy with authorizations on each node. These were made a long time ago by another consultant. Suddenly we have an additional node in the hierarchy (a new region). How do I give authorizations for this new node? Which transaction codes do I use, and how? I am a little bit familiar with PFCG, and have just briefly seen RSSM and SU01. But I can't see where I add authorization functionality yo the new node, and then give it to the user.

Look in RSSM to find out what your authorization object is for Profit Center.
Then lookup the roles that use this Profit Center authorization object -- Not sure how to do this because I usually know the roles I create! Ask the security or basis team for help if you can't find them.
Look at those roles and get an idea of how they are used ... In some cases you can group together values and use a wildcard to select a whole group. Such as, if I have profit centers ABC, ACD, ADE and BAC, I can select the group A* to only allow access to the profit centers starting with A. This person will not have access to the BAC profit center.
So, try to figure out how the other consultant assigned the profit centers, then add your new one in in the same way.

How to revise keyword list new hierarchy

My present keyword list is just a list of words with no hierarchy. After exporting as a text file, it was noted that many single words have the brackets around them, e.g. [cat] rather than just plain cat. How did this happen? Can I delete my present list and import a "clean" list? How can I create a hierarchy with my present list? Reference to a tutorial or manual would be great. Thanks.

If you have a list of words with no hierarchy, such as the one below:
geography
Europe
Italy
Campagnia
Mount Vesuvius
Naples
Pompeii
and if you export the keyword list to a file, and edit the hierarchy as follows:
geography
    Europe
        Italy
            Campagnia
                Mount Vesuvius
                Naples
                Pompeii
everything would be fine if you did not have any photos associated to these keywords to begin with, but if all of the keywords in the flat list of keywords were already associated to photos, then after importing the keyword list, the keywords in Lightroom would appear as follows:
geography
geography
     Europe
         Italy
             Campagnia
                 Mount Vesuvius
                 Naples
                 Pompeii
Europe
Italy
Campagnia
Mount Vesuvius
Naples
Pompeii
That's because Lightroom stores the full path of a keyword hierarchy when that keyword is associated to a photo.
Based on the above hierarchy, the keyword "Pompeii" can be associated to a photo in the following ways:
Pompeii > Campagnia > Italy > Europe > geography
or
Pompeii
So if you already had photos that had the keyword "Pompeii" associated from the flat list of words, this keyword is different from the keyword "Pompeii > Campagnia > Italy > Europe > geography" and there would not be any photos associated to this last one.
All this said, if a hierarchy is to be changed, it is best to do so within Lightroom itself, by drag and drop, and not by doing an export/import of the keyword list.
Also note that when considering keyword hierarchies, it is best to only assign the keyword that is at the bottom of the hiearchy to your photos, as the ones above will automatically be inherited.
As for the brackets around keywords when you export a keyword list, they mean the following:
The square bracket [ ] around a keyword means that the "Include on Export" is not checked in the Keyword Tag options of the keyword; this keyword will not be included in the export of photos that have this keyword associated to them. The other special character used is curly brackets { } which define synonyms of a keyword. A hierarchy is simply defined by adding a tab for each level of the hierarchy.
Here's an example:
[geography]          - this keyword will not be included in exported photos (its purpose is just to organize the hierarchy)
    Europe
        Italy
            Campagnia
                Mount Vesuvius
                Naples
                Pompeii
sport                    - while this keyword is also for organization of the hierarchy,
                              it has more value and I decided that it should export with photos
    running
        3km
        5km
        first race
        half marathon
    soccer
        {football}          - this is a synonym for the word soccer
So the square brackets [ ] have nothing to do with the hierarchy; it simply indicates wether you want that keyword to be exportable or not.
Finally, a good use of the export/import keyword list is to add or remove these brackets, add synonyms to existing keywords, or add new keywords to the hierarchy, but NOT change an existing hierarchy or create one based on existing keywords.

Creation of new product hierarchy and products in SAP CRM.

please help with resolving of following issue:
In CRM system base hierarchies were replicated from R/3 system with materials. Current requirement is to create new materials in CRM directly (as standalone scenario). As far as I understand, I have to create new hierarchy with required list of set types in order to allow creation of products in CRM directly (product type = material). Can anybody describe changes in the system step by step, what should be changed and where?
As a result I need to have a possibility to create products in CRM directly for sales scenario processing.

Here what I tried to do:
1. I created new category in hierarchy R3PRODSTYP, added 3 set types: COMM_PR_MAT, COMM_PR_SHTEXT, COMM_PR_UNIT as basic set types.
2. In the SPRO - Cross-Application Components - SAP Product - Settings for Product Type - Number Assignment - Define Number Ranges for the Product Type "Material" I found my new product category is unassigned, so I assigned it to the "CRM Products" group.
3. Farther I tried to create a new product for created category in CRM Web UI, but was not able to find it in the Base category search field. All categories correctly displayed from R3PRODSTYP, but my new category is absent. What can be the reason of category absence? Btw, it cannot be found even when I try to display whole hierarchy in Web UI, however, in SAP GUI, it can be seen via tcode comm_hierarchy.
Here is the setup of hierarchies in the system:
I have no idea how to check #3 "Ensure the hierarchy is assigned to CRM application".
Can you please suggest, what should be changed in addition? Thank you!

Introducing new level in existing hierarchy...

I asked this doubt sometimes before but was unable to solve this....
We have one hierarchy for one characteristic...now I got requirement to introduce one new level somewhere in between the existing levels....I tried to do it manually with peoples suggestion but it didnot go well....Can anyone point out where I am going wrong...
I clicked on node under whose level I need to introduce these nodes....choose 'Insert Characteristic'...gave characteristic infoobject name and then choose the characteristic value....I succeeded so far....How can I get old nodes from old hierarchy which were in this level but pushed one level down in new hierarchy to point to this new node?

WHile adding the node there is something called adding as neighbour and adding as child. Use whatever necessary in ur case.
