Incoming call volume

I noticed that many people have been having issues with outgoing sound quality and volume.  I have a problem with the incoming volume.  Compared to the Curve 8330, it is very quiet even at maximum volume.  Is this a common problem with all newer BBs?  I had a Curve II for a brief period, and it was also much quieter than the Curve.

Hmm... I really haven't noticed I'm using an 8900, but I'll ask around

  • Incoming call volume problem

I am getting very frustrated with the low volume of my incoming calls. Has anyone else had problems with this? Did you get any assistance from Apple?

It abides by the Bluetooth standards and worked perfectly with my previous Nokia phones so I can't see why there should be a problem. This was one of the main reasons why I stuck with Nokia when replacing my old mobile. The only possibility is that the N95 is trying to do something particularly clever and isn't backwards compatible, but I'd find it hard to believe that a simple function like volume would change, or that Nokia wouldn't consider compatibility on such a fundamental function of the phone interface.
The car kit isn't upgradeable as it's built in. Backwards compatibility should mean that this shouldn't be an issue.

  • Incoming call volume settings when locked

Hi, I have the Iphone 5, for some reason incoming calls when the phone is locked are mute or on vibration. When the phone is unlocked it rings normally.
Can someone please advise how I change the volume settings on the phone when its locked? I keep missing phone calls when its locked.
Secondly, how do I change my email address?
    Many thanks

When you unlock the phone and are looking at the home screen, if you press the up or down volume button, what do you see? It should say ringer, then a bar at the bottom showing how far the volume is turned up.
The ability to change those settings in Do Not Disturb are only available when Do Not Disturb is turned on, and they are only active when Do Not Disturb is on, not when it is off.
Secondly, make sure the mute switch on the side of the device is not turned on to block the ringing. See this fugure.

my up volume button does not work and i need to turn the incall volume up. is there an app that does this?

    Hey skeith75,
Thanks for the question. Based on the information you have provided, your iPhone may need to be serviced to fix that button. However, if in the meantime you would like a workaround for turning the volume up on a phone call, you can use Assistive Touch:

  • Adjusting Volume Control - Incoming calls too loud

I have a Samsung Galaxy S GT19000 mobile phone. I have no problem adjusting the volume of normal calls, but when using Skype on my mobile, the speaker volume is so loud that I have to hold the phone away from my ear or put in an earplug. Does anybody know how to adjust the volume in Skype?

I have played with the media volume while on calls and when not on calls.  This does not adjust the sound for skype.  None of my phone's sound options adjust the sound for skype.  Still no solution?

  • No ring sound volume on incoming call, no speakerphone

My Xperia Z3 Compact is about 6 weeks old (US-unlocked) and recently the phone quit ringing audibly when I have an incoming call. When I get a call, the screen comes on and shows that I have a call, the phone vibrates like it always does and the LED flashes bright white. But no sound, no ringtone. Actually - a very quiet ringtone but through the small phone receiver speaker (where you listen to a caller with phone to your ear). All other notifications and stuff sound out normally: SMS, email, alarms, startup sound, music all work fine. Only incoming calls have no ring volume. I have checked the volume settings and have the ringtone & notifications volume slider wide open. I have changed ringtones, adjusted every sound and volume setting on the phone to no effect.
I did a hard reset and that did not solve the problem. After hard reset I let the phone update as necessay (the phone was up to date, many Sony apps updated). I did not re-install my data and called my phone a few times after the hard reset, still no ring sound on incoming call.
I did another hard reset and did not let anything update, still no ring sound on incoming call.
Related to this is the fact that on any phone call, the speakerphone does not work. If I turn on speakerphone, the caller can hear me but I cannot hear them. If I turn off speakerphone, everything is fine (I hear the caller in the earpiece, they hear me). The external speakers do work fine, I can play music, video, etc. and it all sounds fine. I have tried all of the different ringtones and they sound fine except for when someone is calling in and I hear nothing.
As an aside, this phone has not been dropped or wet or any of those things that might have created a problem.
    Any ideas?

So my I phone 4s volume has decided to pack  allowing only my phone to make sounds when I have an incoming call, I can also here fine using facetime and receiving calls. YouTube, soundcloud, any of I players will no longer play sound. I've restored the phone using iTunes on my laptop and checked all the volumes are turned up and the button at the left hand Side of the phone is in the correct position.

Try inserting and re-inserting your headphones 7 or 8 times. Also try cleaning out the headphone jack in case of debris that might be interfering with the connection/disconnection.

  • Volume keys will not work with incoming calls on headphones

So the headphone that came with my iPhone 4s, and others of the same type I have used, will not allow me to lower the volume of the caller. I would be listening to my music or something, it could even be at 50% volume, however the incoming call pushes it to 100% and will not allow for my headphone or iPhone volume control turn down the call. I have to unplug my headphones and just talk on the phone its self in order to turn down the volume.
This problem was first noticed in iOS 6, and is contiued into iOS 7. I do not recal it happening in iOS 5.

TTY was on after going through the settings one by one. They need to explain what TTY is within the settings menu. I have been useing TTY for 2 years now not knowing it.

    Hi rsample,
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Your symptoms make it sound like the iPhone side switch is set to silent mode.
iOS: Understanding sounds, ringtones, and alerts
Set your device to silent mode
iPhone: Toggle the Ring/Silent switch on the side of the device.

  • Incoming calls adjust computer volume unwarranted

A few times in the past I've tried to use "supported devices" with my Mac and newest version of Lync via USB. This didn't work since you still needed to register the devices independently through the device itself (Polycom CX600, Snom 821, etc.)
instead of through Lync like you can with the PC version... (that's another sad story of Microsoft's software claims!)
To get to the root of this issue, now that I no longer use any USB connected devices with Lync, I cannot get the software to STOP adjusting my system's audio levels upon incoming calls. I currently use a standalone phone device for phone calls. The software
still shows a "Custom Device" attached and the only selection under "Audio Device Settings" and there's no way to de-select it or turn it off.
    Any ideas?

Are you running Skype by chance? It has a similar behavior.

My I phone 4 has just recently lost it's volume on incoming calls, there appears to be no way that I can increase the volume

Have you tried giving it a reset? Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds. When you see the silver apple let go and let it reboot and see if htat helps.

  • SPA3102 incoming PSTN call volume

    Hi,
Hope I'm in the right place!
I have owned an SPA3102 for several years. Principally used for dialling out on a standard DECT handset via my VOIP provider. This works well with no issues at all.
However, although I do not suffer from echo, I have a problem with call volume if I receive, or make, a call on the BT line. All incoming calls are on the BT line - I have no VOIP number.
I have now upgraded the firmware to 5.2.13(GW002) hoping that something might magically change but it hasn't of course. I'd be really obliged if someone can give me some settings to play with / tweak. I'm pretty technical but the UI is complex so not sure where to start.
    Many Thanks,
    Jeremy

Some settings that you can try, the info is from the admin guide.
The following 2 are in the PSTN Line tab.
SPA To PSTN Gain - dB of digital gain (or attenuation if negative) to be applied
to the signal sent from the SPA to the PSTN side. The range is -15 to 12.
    The default is 0.
PSTN To SPA Gain-  dB of digital gain (or attenuation if negative) to be applied
to the signal sent from the PSTN side to the SPA. The range is -15 to 12.
    The default is 0.
The following 2 are in the Regional tab.
FXS Port Input Gain - Input gain in dB, up to three decimal places. The range is
    6.000 to -12.000.
    The default is -3.
FXS Port Output Gain - Output gain in dB, up to three decimal places. The range is
6.000 to -12.000. The Call Progress Tones and DTMF playback level are not affected by the FXS Port Output
    Gain parameter.
    The default is -3.

  • I have no volume for incoming calls ,texts and emails how do i fix it

I have no volume alert for incoming calls ,texts and emails  . How can I fix this as I can watch video clips wiyh sound

    Hello Strangers1,
After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help in this situation. It contains a number of troubleshooting steps and helpful advice concerning audio issues:
iPhone: No sound or distorted sound from speaker
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts5180
Verify that the volume is set to a level you would normally be able to hear.
Ensure that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack or the dock connector.
If the iPhone is in a protective case, make sure that the speaker port isn't blocked by the case.
Make sure that the speaker and dock port aren't clogged with debris. If necessary, clean it with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush. Carefully and gently brush away any debris.
If an audio issue occurs when using a specific application, try testing other applications to see if the issue persists.
If the iPhone is paired with a Bluetooth headset or car kit:
    Try turning off Bluetooth.
If you experience difficulties with the Bluetooth feature, follow these troubleshooting steps.
    Restart the iPhone.
If restarting doesn't fix the issue, ensure that your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS.
