Incoming caller show unknown

Hi, after upgraded 4s from 6.1.3 to 7.0.4, all incoming calls become unknown even contact list available.
Please help.

HT201412 All my incoming calls show unknown caller

Whenever I get a call from any number, the caller ID is always displayed as unknown caller. How do I sort this out?

All Incoming calls are 'Unknown'

About 6 days ago all my incoming calls are coming in as 'Unknown'. Also my phone calls to my friends/relatives were showing up as 'blocked' or 'private'.
I was on the phone with at&t and they said all my settings were fine. They put me through to apple support and we did a reset of settings on my phone and that resolved my outgoing calls as showing up as 'Blocked/Private' but STILL all my incoming calls are showing up as 'Unknown'. VERY frustrating. What is weird though all my incoming text messages know the name of the contact...why would this not work for phonecalls. ANY suggestions at all on how to resolve? I really don't want to have to try and reset all my default settings again on my phone, but if another attempt at that is suggested I guess I'll try. Please advise.

I have a similar problem although it's only with some numbers showing up as "Unknown". I went to the local Apple store and a busy Genius said it ws an AT&T problem. So I spent an hour on the phone with an real good AT&T tech. 866-700-2105 gets you right to iPhone tech support. He said it was a iPhone issue. So I made an appointment with a Genius. We put my SIM card in a new phone - same problem. I had a person call, whose number shows up as Unknown on my phone call the Genius'iPhone. Caller ID shows the number. So we think it's my SIM card. Off to the AT&T store for a new SIM card. With a new card - same old problem. The ball is back in AT&T's court. I bet you thought there would be a solution here. Sorry.

Incoming call shows Name - work/mobile/home of deleted contacts !!

i have iphone with firmware 1.1.3
I was trying to add a contact while on a call- a feature unavailable in 1.1.3
while doing so, all my contacts were deleted and I did not sync with my computer.
THough I do not have a contact in my contacts list, if one of my old contact calls me, his name is correctly displayed with work/home/mobile information.
This means data is still there but not accessible nor visible? Has anyone encountered such an issue ?
Trying to sync with computer does not show contacts that were "deleted"
Any ideas to fix? Else i will upgrade phone firmware.

I agree that I have old firmware and I should upgrade. Would the update restore my deleted contacts? I do not have unlocked phone or any Non-apple apps.
I Added a contact with home and mobile#. I then deleted the home# and called my cell from the same deleted home#. The incoming call stil shows the correct information "Name - Home". This means the data is available somewhere in the phone but not visible.
I tried to do a sync using iTunes 7.7.1 or latest. It only shows me Contacts that I added recently after all my contacts were erased. But when i get calls from those who were in my Contact list, I still see their names poping up when the call comes in and more over it identifies which phone they are calling from home/work/mobile/other. How is that ?

Incoming calls always "Unknown" ?

I just recently switched to Droid Razr Maxx HD. Everything works fine but all incoming calls have neither name nor number. They always come in as "Unknown" even when they are in my contacts. Especially family & friends are NOT ID blocked on their end. I checked all the settings and everything seems to be set the way it should be. Can anyone help, please?

Quite an interesting situation you have going on here, Montill. I'm commited to helping you find a solution. Thanks to B33 for your input. I reviewed the options on your device, but I was unable to locate any option to turn caller ID on or off. I was going to suggest that you ensure that your contracts' numbers are saved into the phone correctly. For example: If your calls come from a ten digit number (xxx-xxx-xxxx), but you have the contact saved as seven digit number (xxx-xxxx) the caller ID on your device may not recognize the number.

Why is it that when someone calls my dad's phone, the incoming call shows up on both our screens?

Whenever someone is calling my dad, we both get the call. It only happens when we are close. It only happens when the calls are for him. It happens even when the other person is not doing a multiple call. Does it have something to do with us having the same Wi-Fi? He has an iPhone 5 with iOS 8 and I have an iPhone 5c with iOS 8.

It has to do with you and him sharing an Apple ID. This is not a good practice. Create a new Apple ID: http://appleid.apple.com.
You could also go to Settings > FaceTime > iPhone Cellular Calls and turn if off, but ultimately you'll probably run into other problems down the road by sharing an ID.

Unknown "cisco" incoming calls

Hi,
anyone here who can assist me with this? we have a C40 endpoint whose configured using NAT. the issue is that we are getting an incoming calls from unknown "cisco" regardless if we are engaged in a call or not. when we checked the history, there is no logs saved.
by the way, the unit is configured using NAT. but we tried to remove the NAT settings so the Endpoint is only transparent within the network. but still we are getting the same issue. unknown "cisco" still can call our end point.
the endpoint is not registered to any GK or SIP server. anyone can assist me with this?

In short, not much you can do, apart from either on your firewall, only allow incoming calls from trusted IP addresses, put the systems) behind a VCS etc or turn off auto-answer.

See caller's name in an incoming call - Nokia 1600

Hi there,
I have just bought a Nokia 1600. I have noticed that the incoming calls show only the number of the caller. I have the caller number and name in the phonebook. Is there anything I must configure in order to see the caller's name? I sure hope that this is a misconfiguration, otherwise i'll have to return the phone...I don't think I'll be memorizing people's numbers...

I had the same problem and worked out that it was because I had the same number stored more than once in the phone memory under different names. If you have this then the phone displays the number as it doesn't know which name to use. This occurs even if one entry is on the SIM card and the other in the phone memory. I think this is a quirk of Nokia phones generally and not limited to the 1600 as I know other people who have had the same problem.
To get round it you have to delete any duplicates from the phone or sim card contact lists.

Incoming call alert

Is there a way to make incoming calls show as a banner instead of interrupting what I'm doing on the phone? Sometimes I don't want to answer or answer right away, and would rather not reject the call.

Settings>Phone>Call Waiting...If you turn this to "off", the calls will go straight to voicemail.

Is there a way to send incoming 'Blocked' and 'Unknown' calls directly to VM without having the call ring or vibrate? (iPhone 5, iOS 7)

I'm tired of getting calls from sales and /or winning a cruise. How can I automatically send incoming calls that are either 'Blocked' or the number is 'Unknown' directly to Voice Mail. It seems you are experiencing an issue with contact syncing and management. It seems you've removed an email account which contained a number of contacts that are not associated with your iCloud account. You may want to consider importing the contacts from the email account you removed. You can do it easily by following the steps in this article:
iCloud: Import a vCard
You can import an electronic business card, also called a vCard, into iCloud Contacts. If the vCard contains contact information for more than one person, each contact becomes a separate entry.
In iCloud Contacts, choose Import vCard from the Action pop-up menu , which appears at the bottom of the All Contacts list or a list of group contacts
Select a vCard to import.
The contacts from the vCard are added to the All Contacts group in Contacts. You can add the contacts to any other group by dragging them to the desired group.

My Iphone 5 updated to IOS 6.2 and now my contact names do not show on incomming calls or text messages. All i can see is the number of the person calling. how can i fix this?? please help

I updated my iphone software to IOS 6.2 yesterday and im not sure if it is a coincidence but now, my contact names do not show on incomming calls or messages. Also they do not show on past calls or recent history.
All my contacts in my phonebook still exist and are correct, the problem only occurs when receiving calls or messages. please help i need this fixing

Try to restore your iphone via iTunes or update to ios6.1.2.
If itunes gives an error with restoring (DFU/Recovery or just normal)
try this:
open your computer and search on windows; C://windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts
open up the hosts file in note pad you will see IP adresses and more add another line and put in this:
#74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com
this is a by-pass to the cydia/saurik restore server, it has nothing to do with jailbreaking over voiding apple's warranty
