Incoming forwarded calls / ringtone problems....

Hi guys,
Hopefully someone can help!! I have a Blackberry Curve 8310, which I use as my direct number for work, but work also have another number forwarded to my phone for short periods of time over the course of a month.
When someone rings my phone normally, their number displays on my screen, and the phone rings.
When someone calls the number which has been forwarded to me, a message pops up saying something along the lines of "Unconditional forwarded call", then the number of the person who is calling displays, and the phone rings.
What I want to do is have a different ringtone for the second type of calls, so that if i miss the message that is displayed on screen, i know its a call which has been forwarded to me!
I've searched the internet and it seems a few people have asked the same question but have yet to read any helpful replys.
Can anyone help?
ps: Just to make it clear, the number that displays on my phone for these forwarded calls is that of the original caller, not the number of the phone that the call has been forwarded from.
Thanks in advance!!

There is no indicator for forwarded calls.

    HI
    Thanks for the reply.
This is surely a phone based feature and not the carrier.
But do you have any solution for this?
    Thanks once again.
It is a phone based feature, but in all the phones you mentioned previously it is only there because the ROM on those phones was modified by the manufacturer or carrier to include the aftermarket application.  The Android OS itself does not provide the feature, but 3rd party apps, which can be bundled into the Android ROM do provide it.
Even if an Android phone does not come with it, you can add the app ("Forwarded Call Alert" by Georg Lukas) but it may not work on some phones if the default ROM has certain switches/features disabled (READ_PHONE_STATE and READ_PHONE_LOGS switches).  For example, it reportedly does not work on the original HTC Desire, but does work on the HTC Desire HD
iOS on the iPhone does not provide the feature, and since no 3rd party app can access the basic phone features of the iPhone, I don't see how a developer could write an app to do it.

  • Incoming International calls receiving problem.

    Hi Team,
I have ISDN PRI E1 connection and i am able to recieve all international calls except two DID number. But I am able to receive national calls
without having any problem. Also noticed that We are able to recieve international calls from certain countries in these DID number.
Also noticed that call is hitting in the gateway and getting debug isdn q931 output with proper digit and Isdn Type:International.
For testing we replaced the phone with another, but issue has same.
Let me know  either is there any  problem with PBX system or problem with Service Provider.
Thanks in advance for your help!!!!
    Best Regards,
    Febin S

    Hi
Provide the debug outputs " debug isdn q931" and "debug voip ccapi inout" when the incoming call is been made.
This will help you to identify the Release Cause for the Call, based on that you can decide the call failure reason while hitting
    the Gateway.

When I have my handsfree plugged in, the sms-tone and incoming-call ringtone is only played in my earpluggs. Any suggestions anyone?

I experience the same problem and it's extremely annoying. Have you found a solution yet?
Of course one might want to keep the earphones plugged in most of the time (if this is the way you prefer to answer you calls + talk on the phone) even if you're not using the phone/earphones. The ringtone does come through to to the speaker when someone calls… yet the sms signal DOES NOT and only plays in the earphones.
This means that the earphones must be unplugged after every call and then plugged in again before every call in order not to miss any sms:es! (Talk about unsafe driving e.g.!)
It would seem to be such an obvious setting/option to include in the iPhones settings. Why has Apple has completely missed this!? .... or is there a solution?
I have searched the internet but haven't found a solution?

  • Skype incoming call ringtone - Change it?

    Using iOS 5.1 and skype 3.7.4 on a ipod Touch version 4;
When I get an incoming Skype call the ringtone is something from the skype app as far as I can tell. Why not use the iOS sound settings and let me choose the ring tone? And why is Skype using a ring tone that I can only characterize as something I would expect from a 13 old girl. Perhaps that's who's making the decisions over there at Skype headquarters. Not that 13 girls can't run the software development a bit better that what we've seen, just don't want her ringtone.

    Regarding above link:
Please be very careful when using third party software and allowing it access to your computer, iPhone/iPod and their applications. I've forwarded your feedback to our iOS product team.
Apple does not allow easily to integrate with the device's ringtone menu to avoid malicious applications interfering with the iPhone's core calling functions. There might be a work around though.

  • My iPad 2 doesn't ring when there are incoming FaceTime calls. This problem started when I updated to iOS 8.1.  IOS 8.1.1 didn't correct this problem.  Any suggestions?

My iPad 2 does not ring when receiving incoming FaceTime calls since updating iOS 8.1.  iOS 8.1.1 has not helped this problem.  I checked the settings to make sure Restrictions were off.  I cannot find anyplace that turns sound notification for FaceTime on or off.
    Any suggestions?
    Thank you

In spite of the fact that you said you checked the settings, I still believe that you have system sounds muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the control center if you are running iOS 7. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to get to control center . Tap on the bell icon and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock can be accessed in the same manner as described above.
This support article from Apple explains how the side switch works.

AS for your other issues, have you done any other troubleshooting like resetting your iPad, resetting all settings or doing a complete factory reset?

  • Problem with incoming FaceTime calls on iPad 2

How to solve the problem, that iPad 2 (WIFI 32GB German) doesn't react to incoming FaceTime calls?
Sometimes it works, usual in a time frame after an outgoing call. Outgoing calls (to different iPhone 4) are always working.

Try restarting your iPad by holding down the on/off and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo.

  • Endless forward calls problem

    Hi,
              I am using WLS6.1 SP2 + Apache.
I'm getting in a servlet a request that the sessionid is in the parameter.
              /servlet/Foo?sessionid=1234&param=abc
The Foo servlet is checking in the beginning of its service() if the
seesionid paramater exists. If it exists, it forwards
the request to the same servlet, where the sessionid is encoded in the url.
              /servlet/Foo;sessionid=1234?param=abc
The result I got is endless request calls until the server dies.
It seems to me that the sessionid parameter is found in the forward requests
even though the url I used for the forward call does not.
This feature work fine on Tomcat and iPlanet... I have the problem only on
              WLS.
Does anyone know why I got this behavior and how to prevent it ?
              Thanks,
              Eyal.

i dont think you can modify the request parameter string when you do a
              forward
So even though you think you are changing the request, the servlet still
sees the original request and hence the endless loop? Perhaps you could
output the query string in the service method or something?
If you want to change the query string then i think you may need to use
              sendRedirect()
I cant quite remember but you may be able to get the desired results by
using a filter. You may be able to modify the query string before the
servlet sees it if you do it in a filter? Not sure.

  • Strange problem forwarding calls

I forward calls from my iPhone on the ATT wireless network to my Comcast landline. When people with other ATT wireless phones only call my iPhone number, it won't ring thru to my Comcast voicemail; instead, callers get a message "The mailbox number you are trying to reach is not in service." This problem only occurs with ATT wirelss phone > iPhone forwarding > Comcast landline. Any thoughts?!! Thanks!!

Could you use IMAP and thereby avoid all the silly forwarding?
If not, look at the Mail Redirect add-on. It's better suited to the business of moving messages between different accounts via email.
Marking the affected messages as unread on the server may help, or you could delete the popstate.dat file in Thunderbird's profile section for this account on the main computer.

  • No voice during incoming outgoing calls

Hi, if anyone faced this issue before....there is no voice heard during incoming outgoing calls. However, we are able to talk on Skype or listen to music.

To me this sounds like the RTP stream problem - it probably does not pass the firewall / nat on the way between SIP provider and you.
What may have happenned is, that either on your Belkin router/NAT, or on internet ISP's router/NAT the SIP ALG (Application Layer Gateway) was enabled.
If this is the case,  you need to disable SIP ALG on your router and/or ask your internet ISP to disable it on the firewall router.
Another issue may have been if you have (accidentaly) changed the port forwarding on your Belkin router, and/or the PAP2T local LAN IP address changed and the port forwarding no longer works.
So my proposals to check would be :
    - check and DISABLE SIP ALG on your Belkin (if router has this feature)
    - check the port forwarding on your Belkin router ... IF you setup port forwarding for 5060/61 you MUST set the same for RTP ports (16384-16483)
    - if you don't have port forwarding on your Belkin, try to setup forward of 5060-5061 AND 16384-16483*.
*(If this is too many ports, set the the RTP portrange on PAP2T to 16384-16394 for example and then forward only that range)
    - if neither of above helps, change your Line1 SIP port from 5060 to let's say 6070, and RTP ports to the range let's say 17300 - 17310
    - last you may do on your side is to remove all port forwarding and put the PAP2T to the DMZ settings of your Belkin router.

  • Can't receive forwarded calls on phone

    Help needed, Thanks!
Just a moment ago I bought an online skype number intending
to have incoming calls forwarded to my cell phone. (in us)
However, every time although my cellphone is ON, the skype
number test calls I make always tell me "You are reaching..
please leave a message"... as if my phone isn't Turned on. Whhhhhy?
    ALSO
When I test call my skype contact from my the other skype account,
(to test the 'forward skype call to mobile phone'function) it always
    show "connecting....connecting... connecting.................."
I read "setting up forward calls" very carefully, the number is set
correctly and the waiting time is only a few seconds, no reason could
    "connecting" takes that long.
What is exactly wrong with this???
    Thank you sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo MUCH!

This is how do not disturb works when you have an option selected to allow the second call within a short time to come through. Do you see a crescent moon at the top of your screen? If so you have Do Not Disturb turned on in settings.

  • JTAPI answer forwarded call

    Hi
I've written a small app that registers as a CTI PORT and accepts calls, confers with a hunt group and then transfers once the call has been picked up by the hunt. (essentially creating hold music for the customer until someone in the hunt answers the call).
I'd like to get 10 of these running simultaniously however cti ports can't belong to a hunt group - so my next thought was to add a forward ctifailure/forward busy/forward no answer to chain the cti ports together, but my problem is this:
I can't get my application to answer a forwarded call - I can see the callchangedevents for it, but where I'd have answered the call for a normal call I get null when I do a getConnections(), obviously this means I can't transfer the call.
is there a better (or easier) way to do this? or can anyone provide me with some insight as to why answering a forwarded call might not be working for me?
    thanks in advance
    this is running on CUCM6

Isn't that how things work on a CCM? The continuing to beep (I'm not a 100% sure you can reconfigure that) seems to be a standard for Cisco (and various SIP phones for that matter), whereas other PBXes take the device on hook after a few beeps.
There's also Call.drop() though I've never used it.
Even on the Alcatel systems I work with.. when I drop a call via CTI, the device plays the busy/reorder tone (as you know in Switzerland they're both the same ;) for a few seconds, and then goes on hook (and that behavior is a standard feature for this PBX).

  • Forwarding calls to iPhone

I have been forwarding calls from another phone to the iPhone. When those calls come to the iPhone, it rings and there is a message that pops up, which says there is a call being forwarded to it. Sometimes the message disappears, but sometimes it doesn't, not letting me answer the call. Has anyone else had this problem?

I am forwarding my Verizon number to my iPhone and I do get the pop-up but it allows me to tap on it and it disappears which then allows me to either accept or decline the call.
