Incoming iMessages going to another phone
Whenever I turn on iMessage (this never happens with texts), some of the incoming messages go to my family member's phone. This person is not sharing an iTunes account, and our phone numbers are completely separate. I did go to Settings > Messages > Receive At, and the Caller ID is correct, and nowhere on that page does it show anything related to my family member's phone. How do I fix this?
I don't want to stop using the same Apple ID for both devices, we have been using the same ID for two years now and have not run in to this problem.

HT1688 problem with some of my text messages going to another phone and other devices on my account
Some messages that are texted to my phone go directly to another phone(with a different number) on my account.
More than likely someone sent you an iMessage addressed to your Apple ID email address that is also registered with iMessage on your iPhone in addition to your cell phone number. The cell phone number is registered with the Apple ID email address when activating iMessage on an iPhone.
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive.
Under You Can Be Reached By iMessage At, deselect your Apple ID email address.
Under Start New Conversations From, make sure your cell phone number is selected. -
Incoming texts going to old phone instead of new one.
I upgraded from iphone 4 to Nokia Lumia 928. I can call out, receive calls, and send texts on the Nokia, but all incoming text messages are still sent to my iphone. Any ideas on how to fix this? It's not real handy having to carry two phones around.
Hi there TGuinn!
I definitely don't want you to have to carry around multiple devices! As Suzy Q mentioned it seems as though your iMessage may still be activated for your phone number. The great news is it's easy to remove. Visit this link: http://vz.to/1aTAJuM sign in with your Apple ID and remove your number from iMessages.
Please test and let me know if you have any other questions!
Thanks!

TS3406 Missed called goes to another phone with same Apple ID
Since new softwear update if I don't answer call it goes to my partners phone with same Apple ID, how can I stop it?
on both devices - settings - facetime - iphone cellular calls - off
this occurs when two people share the same icloud account. -
For some reason my iPhone 4 won't take incoming calls and everytime someone phones me it goes straight to voicemail what's gone wrong??
Look at the AT&T VVM User Guide for help setting up your visual voice mail.
If you still have problems, contact AT&T Customer Service at 1-800-331-0500 and ask them to check that your account is provisioned for an iPhone 4. -
Hi, I share an iTunes account with my wife. Sometimes she gets my iMessages and I don't and vice versa. Also if people face time me it goes to her phone. How can I stop this from happening?
You can share the same Apple ID in
Settings > iTunes & App Store > Apple ID: here
But for all other Apple services like:
FaceTime, iMessage, iCloud, etc, one of you should use a different Apple ID. -
I'm going to another country for a year and I would like to unlock my phone to take another sim other than my carrier. My contract with my present carrier is finished yet they still wouldnt unlock the iphone 4 for me. How can I be able to unlock it?t
Only the carrier to whom the device is locked can unlock it.
If you do not meet their requirements or they do not offer unlocking there is no official way to unlock the device.
Who is your carrier? -
Hi, Was wondering if
Firefox OS have a feature that alerts or notify's you if an incoming call has been redirected or diverted to
your phone (from another phone)?
This feature was common in basic phones and feature phones but is absent on Android, Apple
and Windows phones.
It's useful if your operating a business and want to distinguish if an incoming call is a personal
or a business call.
Cheers
GregHi GregCh,
I understand that you would like a way to distinguish between incoming calls that were dialed directly to your phone number, and incoming calls that were forwarded to your phone number (from another phone).
Unfortunately, there is no such feature in Firefox OS that I am aware of. Forwarding services such as Google Voice may have settings available that would allow you to distinguish the forwarded incoming calls, but I am not entirely sure.
Please let us know if you have any other questions about your Firefox OS device.
Thanks,

Why am I seeing outgoing and incoming text from another phone number that is on my plan?
Why am I seeing outgoing and incoming text from another phone number that is on my plan?
That is why. If you take the time to go into Settings>Messages>Send and Receive. Then uncheck everything but the phone number for each particular device, you should be alright after that.

when i try to delete my messages it turns my imessage off so i have to restart my phone to get it to work again, by then all my messages have come back which i deleted... how can i delete old messages i dont need anymore withou imessage going off?
To get rid of "pop-up ads and other crap on my computer when I am on the internet", click on Safari in the Menu bar, and select Preferences. Next select Extensions. Delete all of them. Restart Safari.
The first step in addressing the black screen is an SMC reset.
Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.

i Had a simular issue years ago with my blackberry on ATT. As it turned out, my SIM had some issues. I would head over to your carrier and get a free sim replacement. It could be a phone or SW issue, but the Sim is my first guess give my experience

Wife is getting old and keeps closing my google phone window is there a way to stop it from being closed or going to another site? The window needs to be left open so we can receive phone calls.
You can use an extension to lock specific tabs.

Is there a way to view messages received on another phone in my plan?
Is there a way to view messages received / sent on another phone in my plan?
There are ways. The easiest would be to look at the phone.
Another way would be if Verizon Messages were installed on the phone in question and you could log into the MyVerizon account for the line in question to view SMS/MMS messages to/from that phone. Of course any messages sent via iMessage would not show up in Verizon Messages as they are not SMS/MMS messages. For those, you could possibly log into the Apple ID account on another Apple device to view those, but then SMS/MMS messages would not show up there.
This is why I prefer to disable iMessage on my iPhone so that I don't have to look in multiple locations to read my messages. I prefer to have all my messages sent/received via the same messaging platform so that I don't have to look in multiple places to view/manage them. -
Can I use my SIM card in another phone temporarily?
Question for you all - I'm new to the GSM world having been a long-time Verizon customer prior to my new Iphone. As such, I really don't know much about SIM cards since CDMA doesn't use them.
Can I use my Iphone SIM card in another phone temporarily? There are situations (like this weekend where I'm going skiing) where I'd like to carry a phone but not the iphone, for obvious reasons.
Can I get a cheapy GMS phone on ebay or somewhere else and take the SIM card out of the Iphone and plug it into the cheap phone?
Thanks in advance! The Iphone doesn't have a sim card.
The iPhone most certainly does have a SIM card since it is a GSM phone. Verizon has a CDMA network and CDMA phones do not have a SIM card. I believe Verizon now sells/carries a hybrid phone that is a combination CDMA/GSM phone but other than this, you cannot switch SIM cards with a Verizon phone or with any CDMA phone.
