Incoming Phone Call DND (Do Not Disturb) or ability to send call to voicema

Does anyone know a good way to put a DND (do not disturb) on incoming phone calls? The idea is to send calls directly to voice mail while still leaving the phone on to receive email & text messages. While at work or in meetings, it would be nice to not be bothered by calls especially from specific people. Ideally it would be really nice to one or all of the following:
-Function to send all calls to voice mail without ringing
-An option when an incoming call is coming in to send the person to voicemail with the choice of a prerecorded message such as "In a meeting" or "At work" etc.
-Send specific people to voice mail without ringing, possibly with a prechosen message.

The only option for the iPhone not ringing when a call is received and the same when a text message is received while in a meeting is by turning the silent switch on located above the volume buttons.

hi i have an i phone 4 the do not disturb fonction does not work with?

Salut, I have the iOS6 with an iPhone 4 and still the "do not disturb" function doesn't work. I just wanted a bit of peace for a couple of hours this morning, tried this new function and NOPE no dice. My son still managed to get through. So tonight I'll put my iPhone into "airplane" mode as usual to get undisturbed sleep !

Well, assuming all of the above, Notifications, etc., it just might be time for a visit to the Apple tore genius center for a session with the techs.  See if it is a fault in the hardware or just an iOS reinstall is the answer.
One more thing you could try, backup so you have a record of content, then restore to factory conditions be an Erase All Contents and Settings.  Then restore from the backup you just made.  That has helped some with WiFi problems, may be it would work with your problems.
But with that behavior of another app with problems, the geniuses looks like a less stressful thing to do.

don't update to iOS7 just yet if you prefer 6.  Many are saying that's the cure, but there are lots of iOS7 users here who can't make Facetime work either.
It would seem Apple has either a big problem on their hands, as this is now a week old, or they don't know how to fix it.  Either way, email Apple tech support your concerns

  • I no longer recieve notifications of missed calls when 'Do not disturb' is on

I use 'Do Not Disturb' on my iPhone 5 very often. In the past, if someone called me while DND was activated, the call would show up in my list of 'Missed Calls' and I would get a notification of it. Since the most recent software update (iOS 8.2) this does not happen anymore. I have no idea whether or not someone called me during the time when DND is active, unless they leave a voicemail (in which case I do get a notification of new VM). Is this a bug, or was this changed on purpose? (I can't think of a reason why people would prefer this change, so I assume it is a bug, but....)
Thanks for any insight you may have.

Text alerts never have come through when DND is on. It's not an option and never has been. Calls from your Favorites are allowed through but that the only option in settings

  • HT5463 My do not disturb isn't letting any calls or texts through

Even from numbers on my favorites. I have tried resetting the phone and changing the scheduled time for do not disturb.  Any suggestions?

Thanks for the suggestions.  Those things are good.
When one of my favorites calls, I get the missed call message when I wake up my phone.  When one texts, I see the text on the screen when I wake up the phone.
    Very strange.

  • In do not disturb option what does repeated calls option mean

I had been facing problem of second Incoming call not received.
But when I went to do not disturn option, I found repeated calls option was enabled.
This says that if enable a second call from the same person within 3 mins will not be silenced.
    What does this mean.
Is it related to my problem ...... What should be the status of repeated calls.....
Also explain the silence feature in settings option >> Always and only while Iphone is locked.....
    Thanks

Please explain what you mean by "second incoming call not received". Do you mean that if you are on a call and another call comes in to your phone you do not have the option of seeing it or answering it?
This means that when you terminate the call to the Iphone user within say less than 3 mins you get to hear the annoucement that your phone you are trying to reach is out of network coverage area....
And then you try third call it matures....
    Thanks

  • Do Not Disturb turned on, call got through after being silenced 7 times

    Hi all,
I scheduled DND to automatically turn on every night and it's been working fine until tonight. Someone called me during the night and after 7 missed (silenced) calls, the 8th got through. Fortunately I was not asleep yet but it was very irritating as I don't like being disturbed at night.
"Repeated calls" has always been and is still disabled; the 8 calls took place within 16 minutes and came from the same number, which was not in my favorite (it wasn't even in my contacts) so I really don't know what went wrong.
I was not using the phone at the time so I'm sure it was locked.
Has this happened to anyone else?

I turn the do not disturb button on and I am not given any options for setting or calls allowed. Does anyon have a fix for this?

    Do Not Disturb and Notifications
Push notifications appear in Notification Center and alert you to new information, even when the
associated app isn’t running. Notifications vary by app, but may include text or sound alerts, and
a numbered badge on the app icon on the Home screen.
Turn off all notifications: Go to Settings and turn on Do Not Disturb. When it’s turned on and
iPhone is locked, all notifications and calls are silenced, but alarms will still sound. You can set the
following options in Settings > Notifications > Do Not Disturb:
    • Automatically turn on Do Not Disturb: Set the starting and ending hours for when you don’t
want to be disturbed. iPhone turns on Do Not Disturb during these hours each day.
    • Allow some phone calls during Do Not Disturb: When Do Not Disturb is on, calls are silently sent
to voice mail. To allow some callers to ring through, tap Allow Calls From. You can allow calls
from your Favorites list or other Contacts groups you define. For information about Favorites,
see Chapter 25, Contacts, on page 100.
    • Allow persistant callers to ring through: Turn on Repeated Calls. If the same caller (based on
their Caller ID) calls you twice within three minutes, iPhone will ring.
Turn an app’s notifications on or off: Go to Settings > Notifications. Tap an item in the list, then
turn notifications on or off for that item. Apps that have notifications turned off appear in the Not in Notification centre

  • Does anybody know how the "Do not disturb" button on iOS 6 will work?

I understand you will still be receiving calls, messages, etc and your iPhone will remain silent and you will be able to see your messages later, but if I set the DND timer for an especific time like everyday at 10pm, will it activate next day at 10 pm like the night before or do I have to set the timer again? thanks in advance.

Turn on Do Not Disturb to suppress all incoming calls and notifications. Enable it manually or schedule a recurring time. Or allow calls from your favorites or specific contact groups.

  • Schedule DO NOT DISTURB differently on certain days.

I go to college and DO NOT DISTURB is a god send as I can schedule it to work during class time.  However, I do not attend class EVERY day and my schedule varies day to day.
Is there a way (or a way in the works (HINT HINT APPLE)) of being able to schedule the Do Not Disturb feature based on my schedule?  FOR EXAMPLE:
Monday/Wednesday, I have classes from 8am to 4pm.  So I want it active 8-4.  BUT, I want it to reactivate on Tuesdays from 11am to 2:15pm for my classes.  I want DND deactivated Thursday-Sunday.
Right now, the only way I can do this is to manually turn it on and off each time.  Before someone calls me lazy, it is far from laziness.  It allows me to have one less thing to worry about.  It allows me to focus on academics and not if I remembered to turn my phone on and off.
Interestingly, alarm clocks on ipads have this feature.  I have multiple alarms set for different days at different times so I never need to reset my alarm or remember to turn it on.
If DND doesn't do this (and wont do it), can anyone steer me in the direction on an App that does?????
I am an apple lover but I have noticed the last year or so, they have been sending out half minded, half finished apps and products.  Maybe DND should be iOS 7 app with the added features and not iOS 6 with such limitations!
Anyhow, any help with be appreciated!
