Incompatible Concurrent Program
Hi All,
Please suggest when we keep a CP Incompatible to itself, why basically we do that. I mean to say on what analysis we can say that my CP has to be Incompatible to own.
Is the Only reason is we want one to run at a time. If that is the case what is the harm if another can run at same time.
Please suggest.
Thanks
Sachin
Hi,
Generally you'd want to make it incompatible with itself for two reasons:
1. If the performance of the program is such that running it multiple times in parallel would degrade performance
2. If the dataset it operates is not guaranteed to be operating on in a single transaction. E.g. if you have data in a staging table, read it, update it to processed and finish. If two of the programs ran at the same time they could conflict with each other. Easiest way to guarantee no conflicts without having to think about anything is to make it incompatible with itself ;-)

Concurrent program to be submitted y only one user at a time
Hi
I have an issue with one of my reports. The report is using temporary tables, those will under go insertion and deletion while the report is running. So, to make sure that two or more concurrent requests submitted for same report, will not conflict, I want to make my concurrent request to be submitted by only one user at a time.
How can I do that?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
BalaKrishnaThe "run alone" box should not be checked. This indicates that this program can only run when no others are running. Pl see MOS Doc 1078462.6 (Custom SQL Concurrent Program Returns NO MANAGER Error). This option should typically not be used.
To be able to achieve what you need, set the incompatibility (as you have done) and then bounce the concurrent managers for the setting to take effect. Pl see these MOS Docs

Multiple instances of Concurrent Program Being Submitted Diffrently
h3. Hi Oracle Gurus,
I am new here and was unable to find the correct category to post my thread into. So please if you know the right category please move it or let me know.
I am having an issue with the order of submission of the same concurrent program with different responsibility.
h4. Let me explain with an example:
I have program CProg which is incompatible to itself in the present setting. There are multiple schedules running of the program with different responsibility. The problem arises when the schedules overlap.
Now let's take 2 schedules:
1. Runs daily at 2 PM. To identify name it as CProgSch1
2. Runs the program every 3 hours. CProgSch2
The priority of both requests is same.
h4. Terms:
Request_Date:+The time at which the parent program requested child program to be submitted.+
Requested_Start_Date:+The time at which the program was meant to be run.+
Actual_Start_Date:+Time when the program was actually run.+
Actual_Completion_Date:+Time when the program finished execution.+
h4. Now, the details are:
Program________Request_Date_____________Requested_Start_Date________Actual_Start_Date________Actual_Completion_Date
CProgSch1_________25 Dec 2012 2.20PM__________26 Dec 2012 2PM_____________26 Dec2012 2.02 PM________26 Dec 2012 2.22 PM
CProgSch2_________ 26 Dec 2012 10.58AM________26 Dec 2012 1.55PM___________26 Dec 2012 2.23PM________26 Dec 2012 2.26 PM
After I checked why not one but both programs missed to start at Requested_Start_Date( by 2 minutes and 23 minutes) I came to know that there was another program running which completed at 2.02PM.
After its completion to my surprise CProgSch1 which was scheduled 5 Minutes later ran instead of CProgSch2.
And as listed above, CProgSch2 which was scheduled to run at 1.55PM was actually run at 2.23 PM after completion of CProgSch1 at 2.22PM.
It seems that Oracle prioritizes the programs based on Request_Date rather than Requested_Start_Date. Is this so? Can we do something so that oracle picks up programs based on Requested_Start_Date instead of Request_Date.ok, and can you please tell me how it doesn't follow those guidelines? If he where to make it shorter then it wouldn't be self contained. He showed us just the methods that where causing the problem. How would you present the problem "Hlpes prgrm no wrk!!!!!" and leave it at that? I'll just point this out before you say anything else:
U nEd 2 b clearer bout wot d prob iz!_
Fact is your not helping him at all.
Now on to his question. I have run code similar to yours in my own sessions and everything turns works out fine.
public class Monster{
public int AC;
public Monster(int a){
AC = a;
public class State{
public State(){}
public void h(Monster mon1, Monster mon2){
System.out.println(mon1.AC+","+mon2.AC);
public class Test{
public static void main(String[] args){
State h = new State();
final Monster Goblin = new Monster(12);
final Monster Pirate = new Monster(14);
h.h(Goblin, Pirate);
}That outputs "12,14". So the problem most be somewhere else in the code. -
Receiving Transaction processor with Receipt Traveller Concurrent program
Hi
We have customized Receipt Traveller Concurrent program (Customized) to get rich Publiishing features using BI Publisher Reports technology.
For some receipts we are getting blank page, on observation we noticed that When Receipt Traveller Concurrent program is complete earlier than Receiving
Transaction processor then we are getting blank pages for receipt program, Where as if Receitp Traveller concurrent Program is getting completed after
Receiving Transaction processor completion then we don't have issue of blank page.
As a possible solution we have tried to make Receiving Transaction processor Incompatible to Receipt Traveller Concurrent program but still issue remains.
Would like to know if any hint on fixing for this.
Thanks
Kamalakar.GYour Traveler program may need some data that is generated by the transaction processor.
Try setting "RCV: Processing Mode" profile option to On-line; logout and log back in.
See if the problem goes away.
But keep in mind that if set to on-line, the users have to wait (a second or more) till the receipt is processed. Depending on your volume and response times, this may not be acceptable.
Hope this helps,

Data inserted twice in a table through concurrent program
Hi All,
I have a concurrent program that is run from two different responsibilities, CANADA and US respectively.
Now it sometimes happens that since its being run from two different responsibilities, it is inserting data twice in a table.
I want to know what is the best way to restrict this, setting incompatibility would be the right option, so that i make that conconcurrent program incompatible to itself or is there some better way possible.
If setting the incompatibility is better, please let me know how do i do that.

FNDLOAD CONCURRENT PROGRAM INCOMPATABILITY NOT DELETED
Hi ALL
We have tight control on migrating object changes from one environment to another. We have to use FNDLOAD for migrating the Concurrent Program changes using FNDLOAD. We have concurrent program with 3+ incompatible programs, due to business requirement, we need to update the concurrent program definition to just have one incompatibility. We update the change in Development environment with just one incompatible program in it definition and trying to migrate to other environment. The FNDLOAD is not deleting the incompatible list even after using the CUSTOM_MODE=FORCE.
Command used
FNDLOAD apps/apps 0 Y UPLOAD $FND_TOP/patch/115/import/afcpprog.lct $XXPRUGL_TOP/data/PFI/extract/RECONTRCASHBI1.ldt - WARNINGS=TRUE CUSTOM_MODE=FORCE
afcpprog.lct
$Header: afcpprog.lct 115.42 2008/09/26 21:19:14 tebarnes ship $
This happen even after bouncing the concurrent manager. Please advice
Thanks in advanceWe have concurrent program with 3+ incompatible programs, due to business requirement, we need to update the concurrent program definition to just have one incompatibility.Do you mean it is already defined in the target instance and you want to update the definition of this concurrent program using FNDLOAD? If yes, have you tried to use "UPLOAD_MODE=REPLACE" option?
If this still does not help, then I believe you have to do it manually from the application by deleting the other two incompatibilities.
Thanks,

Thanks,
SuvigyaThere are two ways to look at what error the PLSQLBLOB API is throwing.
1) Call your PLSQLBLOB API GNE_PO_CREATE_FILE_ATTACHMENT.Gne_Create_File_Attachment directly from a PLSQL block and verify that it returns the BLOB data successfully.
You could also call another WF API that in turn executes the PLSQLBLOB API internally. For example,
<pre>
declare
l_document blob;
l_doctype varchar2(240);
l_aname varchar2(90);
begin
dbms_lob.CreateTemporary(l_document, true, dbms_lob.Session);
-- 207046 - This is the notification id of your failed workflow
-- PO_REPORT - Document type attribute
-- 'text/html' - Content Type being generated for
Wf_Notification.GetAttrBLOB(207046, 'PO_REPORT', 'text/html', l_document, l_doctype, l_aname);
-- Print the size of the document here to verify it was fetched correctly
end;
</pre>
2) Turn on log for SYSADMIN user with following attributes.
Log Enabled = TRUE
Log Level = ERROR
Log Module = wf.plsql%
Restart the Workflow Deferred Agent Listener and Workflow Notification Deferred Agent Listener and run your workflow process. Search for log messages written for above context and you can identify the error at wf.plsql.WF_XML.GetAttachment module with message starting as "Error when getting BLOB attachment ->"
Hope this helps.

Error while running a concurrent program.
Hi All,
I have written a plsql procedure and registered it with apps. When i run the program it is giving
FDPSTP failed due to ORA-20100: File l0137058.tmp creation for FND_FILE failed.
You will find more information on the cause of the error in request log.
I am not able to find out what is the problem with this. When i remove the FND_FILE.PUT_LINE statement from my code and execute it is executing properly without errors. Please suggest me what might be the problem. Also please suggest me where i can find this .tmp file or where i can find the request log.
Thanks and Regards,
MaheshMahesh,
On the instance where this concurrent program fails to run, please verify the following:
1) Make sure that APPLPTMP is set to a valid directory as shown above (Verify from the OS by issuing "echo $APPLPTMP" as applmgr user)
2) Make sure that both the applmgr user and the database user "oracle" have read/write permissions on $APPLPTMP
3) Make sure that APPLPTMP is the first entry in utl_file_dir (utl_file_dir is set in the init<SID>.ora file). To verify to what "utl_file_dir" is set:
SQL> connect / as sysdba
SQL> show parameter UTL_FILE_DIRPlease go through the first document referenced in my first reply (Note: 261693.1), it should be helpful.

Rtf template not showing as uploaded in concurrent program
Hello
I have created xml data definition and uploaded a rtf template. Then linked it to my concurrent program. But when i ran the concurrent program successfully all i get is the xml output. Upon closer inspection it shows that no template is uploaded. Yet in xml publisher it shows as uploaded.
so my question is: what can prevent a rtf template from attaching to a concurrent program?If you and send the template, it would be helpful.
kindly send it to [email protected]

Unable to generate XML's for BLOB datatypes from Concurrent program
Hi All,
I've a requirement to print images on rtf layout. Images are uploaded by end user through attahments men

BI Publisher Charts not getting displayed in concurrent program output
Hi,
I am using BI Publisher version 11.1.1.3.0 on Windows 7 with word 2007. After creating the Bar chart in RTF template of BI publisher when I load sample XML data and check it in "Preview" is displays the output correctly.
My requirement is to print the charts in concurrent program's output on EBS version 12.1.1. (preferably HTML but PDF will also do) However when I run the concurrent program which processes the data definition and the RTF template registered for this report, the output is just an image of the chart. The XML output generated by the program is not reflected in the chart display at all. (I have verified that XML is generated properly)
Can someone please let me know if there is some setup required to make the charts display properly in concurrent program output?
I have also tried BI publisher version 10.1.3.2.1 for this. With this the concurrent program output is just blank. Not even an image is displayed.
p.s. The program uses standard executable XDODTEXE (which is normally used to run BI publisher reports)
Thanks,
ArchanaHi,
I have finally found solution to this issue....
Two setups are required to display the charts in the concurrent program's PDF output:
1. We need to edit the variables CLASSPATH and AF_CLASSPATH. These variables should have the complete path added for the xdoparser.zip file on the server.
2. The DISPLAY variable should be correctly setup to direct the server output.
Also as per my findings so far, the BI (XML) publisher version 11.1.1.3.0 (or any 11g) does not work with EBS (at least for charts). We need to use BI publisher version which is XML 5.6.3 compatible for EBS. This version is 10.1.3.2.1. (patch 12395372) Now this 10g version does not work on Windows 7 so you need to use Windows XP!
With this... finally... your charts should be getting displayed in EBS output...
Cheers!! :-)
