Incompatible extensions were not disabled at first-run
After having success running FF4b6 on one windows XP SP3 laptop, I decided to install it on my other XP SP3 laptop. The install on laptop #2 went fine, but when b6 loaded, I noticed that extensions I knew from installing on laptop #1 were incompatible with the beta (i.e. Personas changer, Echofon) were not disabled on first-run. Instead, they seem to now be zombie extensions, with their icons hanging out in my statusbar and menus, but unable to function. Clicking on the zombie icons gets empty lists or no reaction, rather than the usual options. I am unable to manually disable the zombie extensions because the extension manager shows empty space where it should show a list of the extensions (i.e. it loads the sidebar of "find add-ons, add-ons, plugins, etc, but the inner frame that would list the contents of any of those tabs is blank). A restart of the browser didn't help.
Deleting the extensions.* files didn't help, but I think safe mode helped me get a handle on things. (I also forgot to mention the first time around that I installed the beta on a system that already had 3.x installed. Not sure if that matters.)
Here's what I've done based on/after your reply:
1. Closed beta and made sure 3.x wasn't open
2. Deleted extensions.* files
3. Opened beta. Observed that same problems persisted
4. Uninstalled beta
5. Opened 3.x. Observed that extensions were all working perfectly in that install.
6. Reinstalled beta.
7. Launched beta. At first run check for extension updates, before the browser window launched, progress bar got approximately 3/4 of the way through, then popped up an error dialog box that said, "The operation can not be completed because of an internal failure. A secure network communication has not been cleaned up correctly."
8. Observed in launched beta that same problems persisted.
9. Closed beta. Launched beta in safe mode.
10. Checked add-ons manager. Displays properly in safe mode. Disabled all add-ons that said they were incompatible with beta6.
11. Restarted beta. I now have a functional add-ons manager! Woohoo!

As title says.
Both Disable Office First Run on application boot and
Disable Office First Run on application boot are enabled via GPO, confirmed via gpresult /h. But then when I open the application the "Welcome to your new Office" screen shows.

Extensions were not installed properly is this normal?
Hi, I recently did an erase and install of Snow Leopard. After the install I used Migration assistant to restore all my files. Before it completed I got about 7 messages that extensions were not installed properly and need to be reinstalled. One of them had something to do with my Canon Printer and the other was for my Elgato TV Tuner. I'm not sure what the other extensions were. Is it normal for some extensions to not restore correctly after using Migration assistant?
Those aren't available in SL as such. Just reinstall, which removes all OS components, puts down new ones, and leaves everything else in place. E&I requires you to use Disk Utility to erase and then separately to reinstall. Erasing removes everything, requiring reinstalling all 3rd-party things and resetting all preferences, a veritable PITA.

I am a system administrator and need a way to set a global preference to not open the Whats New and first run pages. I found the browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone preference in the user profile but want to be able to set this globally.
Use a mozilla.cfg file in the Firefox program folder to lock prefs or specify default values.
Place a file local-settings.js in the defaults\pref folder where you also find the file channel-prefs.js to specify using mozilla.cfg.

Items picked in APP proposal but were not included in payment run

There has been a payment run, in which 4 items are excluded strangely. The proposal picked up the 4 items.
There are document numbers shown in the log against those items. But those documents were not posted. Has
any one ever come across such a situation? please guide me as to what the problem may be.it is red and the payement method is also fine . Problem is in proposal log I can see the entry for that line item .In the square box the accounting entries are visible.I mean there it qualifies for payment . A posting document number is also mentioned n proposal log. I mean if it would have picked that item for payemnt that document number would have been created. But that document number is not present in FB03. PFB how the log appears.

Show not flagged as "first run" in listings, causing dvr headaches
As of 21 April 2014, "The Boondocks" episode that airs on Cartoon HD at 10:30pm EDT each Monday is a first run. However, the listings on my FiOS guide don't show it as such, so if I have my dvr set to record first run only, it doesn't record ANYTHING. If I eliminate the first run requirement, it schedules EVERY airing of the show to record. Please fix this. Thank you.
One area I saw a major improvement (about 2.5x faster) was in the processing of Magic Bullet effects, specifically Colorista and Looks.
If you use those effects at all (or any others that may be processed on the GPU), the extra CUDA cores really do make a significant difference. -
Flash does not register on first run

after flash 9 is installed, I tried running a flash file on
our web site. The first time one clicks on the link to the flash
file, it brings up a new browser window, but nothing happens. If
one clicks on the refresh button, the flash file begins to run. Any
subsequent visits to this or any flash file and the flash file runs
correctly (ie, the user does not have to click the refresh button).
Is there a setting that I am missing so that this flash file will
run correctly the first time?
Most of you are thinking, "Big deal, it works... move on."
And I agree. However we have the typical users who will call the
helpdesk when the flash files does not run correctly. Our helpdesk
fields enough ID10T calls as it is. I would like to minimize those
calls as much as possible.

Office 2013 Home and Business OEM First Run screen
Hi There
We are starting to roll out office 2013 oem Home and Business our users are reporting that the first run screen get coming up every time there open an office application.
In Group Policy I've disable the First Run Movie and Office First run on application boot however the users are still getting to first run screen this is every annoying.
Any help with would be great?

BrettThe policy setting should work: it correctly adds bootedrtm=1 value to HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\office\15.0\firstrun. But for some reason Office apps ignore it. I tried disabling the entire policy, then go through the welcome screen. After finishing
with it, office created the same value, but in another place (HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\FirstRun), and the screen never appeared anymore.
So to make the setting work, you have to manually create registry setting (via GPO preference) with the following data:.
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\FirstRun]
"BootedRTM"=dword:00000001
P.S. this was pretty easy, but did anyone look at disabling the EULA prompt? The acceptance is marked by creating a registry key for each user, but the path contains computer name :)) Therefore if all users of the PC have accepted the agreement, and you

When I upgraded firefox, my skype and McAfee were disabled. Received a message that they were not compatible with the new version of firefox.

After the installation of the extension pack (local sql server and installed local) i get this warning:
Common requirement SSMA Runtime emulation components were not found on SQL Server, please check if Extension Pack is installed correctly
and
Common requirement SSMA Synchronization components were not found on SQL Server, please check if Extension Pack is installed correctly.
In the Program and Features Control panel the Feature "SSMA Extensionpack" (or similar) is installed and i see it in the startmenu.

2. Make sure that your computer meets the following requirements for the SSMA for Oracle Extension Pack.

When I first bought my ipad and connected it to my PC ten years worth of photos were downloaded ont ipad. It is now full! Cannot delete them as they were not taken with the ipad. Can anyone tell me how to delete them? Apple Store been very unhelpful.
Many thanksphotos that were synced to the pad can only be deleted by re syncing. When you do the resync, on your computer running i tunes, select the photo tab, and uncheck anything you do not want put back on your pad.

Class not found on the first run
The piece of code following is in my servlet. The first time (after start
WL server) I access the servlet, WL complains It can't find
ArgosClientBeans.ArgosSession and gives me a "500" error in the browser.
But if I open up the a new browser and re-run it, it would see and create
the bean fine.
What's going on? Am I missing something?

The problem was indeed related to the failure to load the plugin.
I renamed the package containing my test using the refactor command.
But the refactor did not update the plugin.xml file. This was prevent
the test plugin to load and generating the exception.
The fact that the refactoring does not update the plugin.xml is already
entered as a bug:

Recover software as you have described is pretty much your only option - keep in mind that if wait, some of the currently recoverable data may well be over-written and lost.

I had files stored on a hard drive that were not on my Mac. I used the hard drive for my first Time Machine back up, but it was not enough hard drive space to finish. Now those stored files are gone. Is there any way I can recover them? No, they were not part of previous Time Machine backups, and I have checked both the hard drive the documents were lost on and the new one that I now use for backups. Any suggestions would be helpful, as the lost files are old pictures that are gone forever. :[ Thanks!
1. Yes, if both drives are formatted as Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
2. Reformat the drives if needed, open the Time Machine pane of System Preferences, and remove the drive with the pictures from the list of items set to be excluded.
