Incompatible Plug-ins Disabled

Everytime I select the Mail App on my iMac, I receive this message:
Incompatible Plug-in Disabled
Mail has disabled the following plug-ins:
UnsubMailPluginMailAppOSX
Contact the makers of these plug-ins for versions that are compatible with Mail 8.0.
Any Help here?  Where do I find this plug-in on my mac to delete?

Hi elisio,
The article linked below provides information about the plug-ins disabled alert message which you’re seeing when launching Mail since updating to OS X Yosemite. It also shows where the plug-ins are located.
OS X: Third-party plugins for Mail may no longer work after updating OS X

  • "How to remove incompatible plug-ins" in the Mail.

I have installed Intego/virus barrier and after removed it. Every time I open the Mail now I receive the message: "Incompatible plug-ins disabled". I have to press OK, the mail works fine, but is annoying

The basic question is ... How did you remove it?
Many? Most? apps install things in various system directories independent of /Applications where the app itself resides. Simply dragging "the app" to the trash does NOT delete these items.
"Theoretically," the vendor provided an "un-install" script.

  • Firefox plug in container has stopped working, even in safe mode with plug ins disabled

My firefox keeps crashing every 5 - 10 minutes. Sometimes I get a windows error message saying "firefox plugin container stopped working", but most times I don't. These are the actions I've taken so far, with no effect:
    1. Updated all my plug-ins
    2. Run firefox in safe mode with plug-ins disabled
    3. Uninstalled and reinstalled firefox
    4. Run an AVG scan which turned up nothing
Can anyone offer advice on how to fix this (very annoying) problem?
I've had to write this in IE because firefox wouldn't stay open long enough for me to copy and paste it into the text box.

  • How to disable incompatible Mail plug-ins?

When opening Mail 6.5 (build 1508) in OSX 10.8.4, I get the following error message:

Mail has disabled the following plug-ins:
              Letter Opener
Contact the makers of these plug-ins for versions that are compatible with Mail 6.5 and Message 6.5.
I never use the Letter Opener plug-in anymore, so I would be totally fine with simply deleting it.  However, I can't find it anywhere on my system.  I did a bit of research and it appears that Mail plug-ins should appear in ~/Library/Mail/Bundles ... but I don't have a "Bundles" folder at that location.
Any ideas where else to look?

Look here. There is a contact us link towards the bottom. Ask them for uninstall instructions.

  • UNIX-side plug-ins (Frame7, 8)

    Hi all;
Does anyone know where I can find documentation on using the apliclients file to install a UNIX-side plug-in (normal-mode Frame8). I can do 1 of two things inside apliclients:
Make the file identical for another plug-in and ours, but ours won't install ("Cannot initialize API client [OurPlugin].")
Eliminate the error message by declaring that our plug-in is an import filter.  But alas, I can't get plug-in's menu to install correctly on the menu bar.
The plug-in is not an import filter.  Instead, the plug-in maps XML to Frame tags inside a text inset (see http://www.design-reuse.com/articles/17309/ip-xact-adobe-framemaker-register-specification -system.html for something similar).  Double-click the inset and Frame calls a separate XML editor.
But setting this up as an import filter isn't working, so I'm trying to determine what options are available inside the apiclients file.  Getting any information at all on the apiclients file would also be helpful and yes, I've looked online and through the UNIX side help files.
The only other idea that comes to mind - for now - is to modify the plug-in so that it doesn't try to install a menu on the menu bar then roll-our-own menu to call functions from the plug-in.  Tho I'm not sure if that would work either.
BTW, this post is similar to post #315439, but that referred to PC Frame8 and now we're back UNIX side.  Michael, re 315439 I like your idea of using a table, but we need to get the inset read-only.  Thanks!
Any ideas will be much appreciated!

It is disappointing indeed, and perhaps a bit more explanation is required:
"Rosetta Mode" means that your Intel-based Mac is executing PowerPC-code instead of native Intel code. This requires that the processor has to look up every single instruction, translate it, and only then can execute it. This leads to significant performance loss. The mere fact that Apple has managed to get even somewhat (perhaps borderline) acceptable performance out of Rosetta is a testament to the ability of their engineers.
Our (cf/x) plug-ins currently are PPC-based only. Because of the nature of plug-ins (they are code that is literally plugged into the running code of the hosting application), a plug-in must always be written for the same processor as the host. iMovie can't simply cick into Rosetta and pop out of it randomly. Therefore you must run iMovie in Rosetta to run PPC-based plug-ins, or run it natively, but with non-native plug-ins disabled.
Which leaves the question why we don't have native plug-ins. The answer is that we dont have them yet as there were significant compiler issues. 'Were', as in 'past tense'. A few weeks ago we had a breakthrough, and are now busily upgrading and porting the PPC code to Universal. Progress is slow, as we need not only to bring the code to Universal, but also have to integrate and test lots of new technology. On two architectures simultaneously. But we are quite sure we'll get there eventually. As always, though, I recommend you do not base any decisions on what I or other people assert, but simply wait and see what gets delivered.

  • Using CFX Plug-ins: Requires Rosetta to be turned on?

    Hello
I very much enjoy using the CFX free plug-ins that allow one to black out the edges of imported VHS video, where the static or not well aligned heads on older video, often occurs.
Since the plugins are not Intel ready yet, the CFX states that you must force your iMovie app to be able to use Rosetta.
One thing they do not address and I need help on, does this make everything I do in iMovie now become slower because of using Rosetta all the time? Or does it slip into Rosetta only to implement the plug in?
    TIA
    d
Here is what the workaround is:
This is a small tutorial on how to enable the option of "Open Using Rosetta" for iLife '06 applications. Here's how you do it. For this example, we will be using iMovie:
    1. Right-click on the iMovie application.
    2. Click "Show Package Contents"
    3. A Finder window should show up entitled "iMovie HD", and there should be a folder called Contents.
    4. Open Contents, and double click "Info.plist"
    5. Scroll down a ways to the bottom, and look for:
    <key>LSRequiresNativeExecution</key>
    <true/>
    6. Change <true/> to <false/>, or just delete it.
    7. Save the file.
    8. Then, open "Disk Utility" and repair disk permissions.
    9. After permissions are repaired, go to /System/Library/ and delete Extensions.kextcache and Extensions.mkext.
    10. Simply reboot, and...
...Voila! The "Open Using Rosetta" option should now be under there in "Get Info". This works for all of the other iLife '06 applications.
EDIT: If deleting Extensions.kextcache and Extensions.mkext doesn't do anything, try moving the application from one directory to another. Also, what will definitely do it, is duplicating the file, however that may take a while depeneding on the speed of your computer and the side of the file.

  • Odd noises, Plug-ins, and the Need to upgrade

Hello my computer specs are as listed, i am running Logic 9, and using Toontrack's Superior Drummer 2.0 and T Racks mastering compression plug in. I get these odd snapping noises from certain tracks, usually when they come in. if I track audio while using one of the T racks EQs or compressors, these noises show up on the audio. I have put in a query with IK multimedia's support and they are spectacularly unhelpful. I suspect that this noise is due to insufficient memory or processing power. I've been meaning to upgrade anyway as I can't seem to run Superior drummer in 24 bit mode, and would like to, but I'm wondering if I should only get more memory, a better processor, or both.
    Thanks
