Incomplete download of iTunes 9

I bought a new ipod yesterday and decised to upgrade to iTunes 9 before attaching new iPod. The upgarde would complete and I got an error message about not having sufficient privledges. When I called Apple the rep seemed very new and unsure. She had me uninstall iTune, Quicktime and other related programs, but apparently not in the right order. Eventually I go escalated and this guy indicated that everything had to uninstalled in a specific order. Eventually, I appeared to have a successgul install, but when I tried to open iTune it said that I didn't have Apple Application Support program which is required to open iTunes and said that I had to uninstall and reinstall. But each time I do that it doesn't install the Apple Application Support program. Anyone have any ideas? I running it on Windows Vista on a laptop I bought a year ago. Previous version of iTunes worked fine

when I tried to open iTune it said that I didn't have Apple Application Support program which is required to open iTunes and said that I had to uninstall and reinstall. But each time I do that it doesn't install the Apple Application Support program.
Doublechecking some things before proceeding.
In your "Uninstall a program" control panel, does Apple Application Support currently show as being installed?
Do you have a 32-bit or 64-bit version of Vista?

  • TS1424 Incomplete downloads from itunes store

I purchased songs in the itunes store, but the entire song did not download.  I need the full song dowloaded.  How do I correct this?  When I redownload songs purchased, it downloads the same incomplete song!

Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past music purchases, delete the corrupt tracks from your iTunes library, close and then reopen iTunes, go to the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Music and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your tracks there.
While downloading select Downloads in the left-hand column and make sure Allow Simultaneous Downloads is unticked.
If the problem persists, or that facility is not yet available in your region, contact the iTunes Store support staff through the "Report a problem" links in your account history, or via Contact Support.

  • TS1566 How to remove an incomplete download from itunes store on iPhone?

    Hi,
I have recently purchased an HD movie from itune store using my mobile. Being a 16 gb iphone4 with numerous other aps and playlists already cluttering the phone, I  had no room for downloding the 4.8GB  movie file on my phone. Hence I constantly see the movie being attempted be automatically downloaded which throws up an error.
I have already downloaded the movie on my home computer and do not wish to download the movie on my phone. And most certainly want the incomplete movie download to be deleted.
How do I do it. Is there any way apple can stop the file from reflecting on my phone?

first you sync your phone with itunes and remove the broken files from the itunes library.then resync the phone.:)

  • How to delete an incomplete download from iTune when "delete" function isn't available?

I recently rented a movie from iTune via iPad Air, the download of the movie never finished. It's still "processing" after 2 weeks. How do I delete this movie from Downloads? I haven't been able to access iTune store since this failed download. The "delete" bottom next to "cancel" is not availalbe on Downloads.

Reboot the iPad and then see if you can delete the stalled download. Try swiping across the progress bar as well after you reboot.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • HT203433 Incomplete downloading of iTunes song even when says is complete

I used iCloud to download a song onto my computer that I had purchased on my phone.  I says it the song is 2:54 long yet at about 1:15 the song spontaneously ends and goes to the next track.  I do not have this problem with the track on my phone.  I wanted to re-download it however when I deleted it from iTunes on my computer, when I went to the iTunes store it still said that track was "downloaded" to this computer so it wouldn't let me get it again.  Thoughts?

I called and spoke to supervisor, plug yr phone into computer, rt click on yr name and transfer purchases, this redownloaded whole song onto computer and fixed the problem

  • ITunes 10.6.3 keeps generating incomplete downloads AND it rearranges the order of the playlist when I burn a playlist to an mp3 cd

iTunes 10.6.3 keeps generating incomplete downloads AND it rearranges the order of the playlist when I burn a playlist to an mp3 cd.
I purchased an album on iTues from my MAC book Pro & the song downloads were incomplete. The song length shows correctly in the column, but they cut off between 1/4 & 1/2 way through the songs. Now, I dwonloaded it on my iPhone 4 through my itunes account after the purchase & the songs play fine. This happened with the very next song I purchased, as well.
I got around this issue, then created mp3 versions of all the songs, put them in their own playlist, then "Burned an mp3 disc." When it completed, the songs were in a different order.
Are there any fixes for either of these problems/bugs?

How to fix incomplete music download from itunes?

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

    A song I downloaded from Itunes isn't complete...how do I get a refund??

Other people have been having similar problems with incomplete sone over the last few days, I assume that there has been a problem with Apple's servers.
Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting it from your iTunes library and redownload it via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if it re-downloads in the state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that song and use the 'Report a Problem' link.

"A duplicate file name was specified", why is this poping up and preventing me from downloading from iTunes.

Try looking for and/or deleting incomplete downloads from the the iTunes Media folder. Then try downloading again, so its not resuming or overwriting a previous download.
Apple does have this article that talks about a very similar syncing error -> iTunes: Troubleshooting issues with third-party iTunes plug-ins.
    WTH.

  • Have same copy of book with incomplete download.  Cannot read and cannot delete entries.

Have downloaded iBooks with ePub. Some were incompletely downloaded. Cannot read and more importantly cannot Delete. Connecting iPad 3 to MacBook Air does not show incomplete downloads. How to remove as selecting edit and tapping on icons yields nothing.

I've had the same issue for the past two weeks and have finally been able to resolve it.
For references, I have my iPhone syncing to the following settings:
    1. iTunes Match (OFF)
    2. Automotic Download (OFF)
    3. iCloud (OFF)
I'm guessing my solution would still work if your syncing has been configured differently, but I've only tested this solution with the above configurations.
    1. Make sure all the songs you want are also backed up in your iTunes (because you will be deleting it off your iPhone).
    2. On your iPhone, access the Music app and navigate to a filter that contains the affected songs: i.e.
         a. Album
         b. Artist
         c. Genre
         d. Anything that the duplicate songs (the one with the odd play buttons) are grouped within. For me, all the duplicate songs were within one particular album. So, I selected the Album (I could have easily selected the artist as well, but that would have deleted more songs than necessary). If your duplicate songs are scattered across albums and artists, this could take awhile depending on how many songs are duplicated.
    3. Swipe to delete the "Album," "Artist," "Genre,' etc. Not the song. You won't be able swipe to delete the song and will be eternally frustrated by this.
    4. Re-sync your songs with iTunes.
    5. Nasty, weird, non-playing duplicate songs should now be gone.

  • How to delete incomplete downloads in iPhone 4

How can I delete the incomplete downloads in iPhone 4 ?

Not on your end, no. Once an item enters the download queue, the user cannot remove it. Either let it complete the download (easiest) or contact the iTunes Store customer support department through the form linked from the bottom of their Download FAQ web page and ask them if they'll remove the item from your queue for you.

  • ITunes does not resume downloads for itunes match after quitting

On my main computer (with my iTunes library), I deleted several songs that matched at 256k but were 128k.
I had about 300 iTunes match songs downloading and had to quit iTunes.
Upon quitting, iTunes threw up a dialogue box saying I would be prompted to resume downloads after restarting.
    That never happened.
Now, among my collection of over 3,000 "matched" songs, I do not know which are the incomplete files.
Additionally, several of the files had timed out because Apple's server's couldn't keep the connection open, and those too have disappeared from "downloads."
I tested by trying to download additional "matched" songs, but the timed out and incomplete downloads did not reappear.
    Does anyone have a workaround?
    Thanks!

I've run into this too.  You should be able to create a smart playlist based on icloud status = matched, then if there are files that can be downloaded, that playlist should show a cloud with a down arrow that you can click on and download everything in that playlist.  Another option is if you have both of the iCloud columns showing in your music category, you should be able to click on the one with the cloud icons to have it sort by those, select the ones with a down arrow and download them.  You should also be able to do a right click and select "download" but if you select all your music it may not show up if there are ineligible songs selected.

  • Songs downloaded from itunes not playing on ipod

Hi, maybe someone can help me. Recently I noticed that the songs I have downloaded from itunes are not playing on my ipod. They are working fine on my computer. As far as I know all my software is up to date and I even tried backing up my files and restoring my ipod, and the songs from itunes are still not playing. Is there something else I can do?
