Incomplete installation Technical Content

Hello,
Again I have a problem with Techincal Content. I've installed TC with transaction SPRO, and the installed dataflows were not complete (4-5 Multiproviders). I tried to (re)install it manually by choosing one Multiprovider at the time and the "dataflow before" option in RSA1-> BI Content.
One example is Multiprovider DTP-statistics (0TCT_MC22), which has two dataflows "before", both coming from the same datasource 0TCT_DS22. One flow, where next to the technical name of the datasource it says ABDCLN100 (our BW development environment) is installed correctly and there is no need to reinstall it.
Buttt, the flow "coming" from the same datasource and where the AEDCLN400 (our ECC development environment) is stated next to the technical name of datasource, cannot be installed. The message is that several datasources (including 0TCT_DS22 ) does not exist for QS AEDCLN400.
I hope my story is clear, if not I made a screenprint.

As I have stated earlier, this is the wrong way of Installation of COCKPIT.
In your case, you have installed by choosing both the source system thats why you can see two entries.
For the Duplicate entries of data sources from the R/3 you need to remove the assignment and delete the entry present in RSA1.
If its too complex for you, then leave it... and try reinstalling the COCKPIT for your BW system alone and check if all the objects comes properly or not?
Delete the entries present in the transport which was stored earlier during the COCKPIT installation.. And try collecting the objects once again using transport connector and also make sure that you choose the BW source system for collecting the objects.

Hi Gurus,
I am installing Technical content in our development box. I have one thing to be clarified before I go further with the installation job. I have got lots of infoobjects installed in our server eg., 0CALDAY which are again part of the technical content too. I have got some routines working on these infoobjects for some other purpose. If I install the 0CALDAY once again by selecting the Grouping option "data flow before and after" what would be the circuumstances. My question is do I need to do any sort of modifications to the objects where my 0CALDAY is refreenced after activating the Technical Content.
Kindly clarify.

You shouldn't need to reinstall these objects. You can either uncheck the Install box, or check the Match box and when you install it will stop at these objects, show you the difference, and allow you to take the new version or keep the old version.
Take care not to install in background, because this will automatically overwrite everything you have collected with the new versions, even if you uncheck the Install box.

Hi,
please go through on below mention steps:
1.     In the administrator workbench, click the Business     Content bar on the left side and then click to set the default source systems.
2. The default source systems are displayed. Click to accept them &       continue. Double click Object Types.
1.     Click     and then select the collect automatically option i.e., BW will collect related objects for the infoproviders to be selected.
       4.   Click     and select the in dataflow before and afterwards             option. Now the infoobject & the object on which the infoobject depends will   be collected and activated together.
        5. Now we will select a Business content object and activate it. Click Select                objects under Infocubes to locate the required infocubes.
       6. Select the required infoobjects and then click
           Now the selected infocubes along with the respective infoobjects will be              transferred for installation.
       7. Click install and then select install to activate the selected infoobject and the              associated objects.
       8. The install in background option can be used when activating a large object.

Error while trying to access data from virtual provider - Technical Content

Hi,
I am trying to install the new BI 2004s technical content. I am done with the installation I am trying to display data for the remote cubes delivered i.e. 0TCT_VC11/21 etc. but getting an error:
Error reading the data of InfoProvider 0TCT_VC11
There is still no data source assigned to VirtualProvider 0TCT_VC11
The virtual providers are of type "virtual provider based on DTP" since standard technical content didnt have any DTPs for the VC cubes I tried to create some direct access DTPs based on datasources 0TCT_DS11 but there also getting error:
Source doesnt support direct access
I saw the type for datasource 0TCT_DS11 and its using SAP SAPI and not direct access and couldnt change the type actually the same datasource is also used by cube 0TCT_C11 so changing the type probably wouldnt have been a good idea.
I found the following notes 996735 and implemented its change...but no use...
we are on SP10 and content 7.03 SP2. Can anybody please help??

The above mentioned solution is a good idea but in this context not appropriate as it aims at resolving an issue in the delivered Content Version of 0TCT_VC11.
In your case, you already have 0TCT_VC11 activated and you can not read any data from this VirtualProvider in queries. Right?
In that case, you have to:
1. Check that the entire data flow is active for the InfoProvider (activation should occur for the MYSELF source system): 0TCT_VC11 with InfoSource 0TCT_IS11 with DataSource 0TCT_DS11
2. Activate the direct access for the VirtualProvider (Context menu of 0TCT_VC_11 > Activate Direct Access > Source Syst. for InfoSource3.x > Mark the column with the MYSELF source system and Save).
This corresponds to Installation "Step 5.) Activate direct access for virtual providers" that is mentioned in SAP Note 934848 "Collective note: (FAQ) BI Administration Cockpit".

Technical Content

we have just finish the BI7 ugprade.
When I run RSA1 (for the first time), it says the job BI_TCO_ACTIVATION is schedule and run in the background. I check on the website site and it says this Job will activate the Technical Content.
1) Question is why it automatically activate the Technical Content?
2) I thought it is up to us to decide if we want to install and activate the Technical Content from RSA1 ->Business Content?
3) Now the job is finished and it seems like some of the Technical Content have been activated a appear in RSA1.
4) Can I just delete them from the RSA1?
What should I do?
Please help.

BI_TCO_ACTIVATION automatically install the technical contents when you execute RSA1 tcode for the first time after system upgrade.
Technical contents consists of objects related to BI statistics, distributed statistics records etc. Which are different than the business content which we installs manually.
The technical BI Content must be installed or activated. The technical Content is installed automatically in the background (job name BI_TCO_ACTIVATION) when you execute RSA1 for the first time. For the other installations, you should wait until the job BI_TCO_ACTIVATION is completed. (OSS NOTE 979581)

Install SAP Technical Content

I have heard about installation of Technical Content.
Can any one tell me how to install SAP Technical Content and why we used it.

After a new install or upgrade, Technical Content will be installed automatically after you run TCODE Rsa1 (BI_TCO_ACTIVATION) for the first time. It is used for the BI Stats and authorization to mention a few.

Help to find the technical Content

I want to install Technical Content in BI 7.0 system, I ran the job RSTCC_ACTIVATE_ADMIN_COCKPIT and it is running, now after
this what are the steps. I need
1. 0TCT_C01 what is mapping datasource 0tct_ds01 but i do not find this when i go to TR- RSOR in BI Content installation.
I guess it will after the job RSTCC_ACTIVATE_ADMIN_COCKPIT is finished
also i think i have to install the process chains manually in RSOR
Please guide me since I want to see the loading time for all my DTP's and Infopakages can i use
"Runtimes of BI Application Objects" Report, what is OLAP Time is it the the time it took for extarction

Hi Poonam Roy,
Whole installation is defined in the note 934848. Once the installation is done you need to schedule the process chains to load the cubes.

Unused queries & Technical Content

Hi folks,
I need to find out the unused queries (e.g. the ones that weren't used in last 13 months). As far as I know the best way is to use the technical content (0BWTC_C10); but unfortunately it's not active in our system at the moment.
Another option is, using the "Last Used" field of RSZCOMPDIR. We have another "but" here. I've figured out that this field is updated even though a query is opened in query designer.
My questions are:
1. Any ideas for defining such queries in this situation?
2. What are the disadvantages of using this technical content? (I mean the extra work load at server-side.)

hi pekcan,
you can run transaction rszdelete to get a list of all queries not used for a defined time.
Unused/unnecessary Queries can lead to higher times in the 'Open' &#56256;&#56526; 'Query' dialog. They also cause an unnecessary allocation of disk space.
Check regularly whether queries are really still in use. The 'Last Used' field in transaction RSZDELETE (Delete Objects) is related to table RSZCOMPDIR. 'Last Used' is updated in table RSZCOMPDIR with the exact timestamp of when queries are executed with the BEx Analyzer or Web Frontend.

Error while installation of content server.

I installed the plumtree portal (PlumtreePortal_v5-0.exe) and Content server (PlumtreeContentServer_v5-0.exe). The portal is working fine. But When I completed the installation of content server I received the following errors, when I checked the diagnosticTests.jsp Which tells whether the installation is successful or not....
I found 2 bugs
- Root Section Publishing Target
- Root Section Preview Target
Possible Resolution is as follows.
The Publishing Target Browser Path is invalid. The item was published successfully but could not be found at the Browser Path. To change the publishing target right click on the root folder in Content Explorer and choose "Publishing Target". Click on the Publish Tab. Change the Browser Path to a valid path.
I am not able to find the Content server explorer. Please let me know how and where can I find these editor

Error indicates memory problem.
1. go to configtool and change the values for > server0 > Max heap size = 2048 MB.
-xx:NewSize=320m
-xx:MaxNewSize=320m
-xms2048m
-xx:PermSize=256m
-xx:MaxPermSize=256m
Please check the note 723909 for any further clarification.
Exclusively for Sun Solaris
Check the following:
1050866 : Java VM terminates under Sun Solaris 5.10 during install.
1048824: JLaunch may fail to start the Java VM during installation

Slow Moving Item Scenario - Technical content for Queries

Hello
Due to preparations for upgrade to BW 7.30 we would make an analysis of not or seldom used BEx reports (queries, workbooks, etc.)
All of unused objects should be deleted in advance of an upgrade.
I checked if there is a query which shows slow moving items for queries.
Is there any technical content (query) which reports this scenario for BEx objects?

Incomplete installation of Adobe Acrobat Pro X - ERROR: DW006 - ERROR: DW050

Hi,
On trying to run a failed update from Adobe, my Adobe Acrobat Pro X became corrupt and failed to open.
I am now trying to reinstall the software, but the software does not install successfully with Exit Code: 6 and the following key warnings and errors:

Please help! I uninstalled the corrupt version X before this installation attempt.
I also still have Acrobat Pro 9 on my machine as backup (for this precise reason) but don't believe this is the problem as they have co-existed without a problem for near a month now. The corruption in version X occured after this morning's failed update from Adobe.

Must have been a font or something causing the problems, as opening in safe mode allowed the software to install correctly.

Error in transports of BI technical content

While transporting BI technical content , we are getting an error 'Program terminated (job: RDDEXECL, no.: 10524800)'
It also giving a dump as follows:
SAPSQL_ARRAY_INSERT_DUPREC
Error analysis
    An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.
    The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB', was not caught
     in
    procedure "RSZ_P_DB_ELT_SET_IMMEDIATELY" "(FUNCTION)", nor was it propagated by
     a RAISING clause.
    Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated that the
    exception would occur, the current program is terminated.
    The reason for the exception is:
    If you use an ABAP/4 Open SQL array insert to insert a record in
    the database and that record already exists with the same key,
    this results in a termination.
    (With an ABAP/4 Open SQL single record insert in the same error
    situation, processing does not terminate, but SY-SUBRC is set to 4.)
Kindly advice how this issue can be resolved .

Hi,
When you have the transport request under the tranport queue of the destination System and click to truck to import appear a windows with some tabs, in the last tab appear some checkboxes with diferent options, there are some that talk to overwrite the existing objets, and other talk abou repair. Click this ans try to import.
Sometimes work.

Aks your Basis person to look into the dump in tcode ST22. Also you can check in the SAP notes for error message displayed in the dump. There you find the correction notes.
Mostly this problem is related to Service packs.

Statistics technical content activation issue with MD process chain in BI7

Hi,
Let me give you history of the issue first.
I had to activate the Statistics in BI7. I followed the SAP Note 965386 and activated the Technical Content.
Faced activation issues in MD process chain, Content Master Data-0TCT_MD_C_FULL_P01. It dint get activated, Followed the SAP note 1065919, which asked me to remove the below process from RSPC and activate it.
Load data- Process Variant Attribute and
Load data- Process Variant Text.
I did the same and it got activated after removing them.
Issue is. Later knew that manually activating the Process chain from Content would have activated those Infopackages aswell.
Now how should I get those processes into the chain and activate? Based on your suggestions, I can let you know what all I have been trying to fix it?

I have this issue solved. I replicated the data sources, activated those infoPackages manually and then added those variants into the process chain manually. So my MD chain now has all the necessary process.
Now i need to schedule them and see if it runs with out any errors. I will keep this thread open till i run it to take your help if i get any errors while running them.
