INCOMPLETE PURCHASES MISSING TRACK/ALBUM/ARTIST DATA (generic song files)

For the past 6 weeks, across the past 2 iTunes versions +(7.4.3 + previous)+ Purchases from the iTunes Store are downloading incorrectly.
All purchased tracks download, as evidenced by the iTunes Store > PURCHASES section.
However, these purchases are incomplete in: iTunes, therefore my iPod, and most critically: on my hard-drive.
ITUNES:
When viewed within Library > Music, most of these new tracks will display BLANKS.
All elements for the core data: Artist, Album & Track will be blank
The tracks are all functional in that i can play them, which sometimes means i can identify the core data.
However, the purchases CANNOT be updated via GET INFO. The info i supply is never written/displayed in iTunes Library.
IPOD
Just like in iTunes Music Library, these incomplete tracks play on my iPod. But again: are BLANK-BLANK-BLANK generic.
HARD-DRIVE +(windows file system)+
Artist & Album folders are rarely created. Instead, the "Unknown Artist" folder will be filled with generic files:
"01 download 1.m4p" where both numbers keep incrementing so that they're unique.
The files can be re-named in the XP file system, but i have over 100 tracks like this, for which i've paid.

I submitted an Apple Support form, which after a few days generated a ticket. However, i was directed to phone Apple Support.
On the phone, Apple Support stated that my iPod was out of warranty for free support, and i would need to pay $30 for Support.
This issue is manifesting independently of the iPod. This is a CONTENT issue within iTunes.
I requested this be escalated to iTunes Store Support, as these are defective files.
I cannot be expected to manually re-name all these tracks. Any additional purchases will continue to manifest this issue.
*MY SUGGESTIONS:*
I STRONGLY suggest you submit a form-request to Apple Support: http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/download/
Even though you too may be directed to the toll-free Phone Support, this will at least generate a ticket for the issue you're experiencing.
Then, call the 800 number and give them all the details.
Tell them this is occurring between iTunes and your HD.
Tell them these incomplete/incorrect downloads are faulty goods and need to be addressed.

  • Why does my new iPod touch sort music by album artist, instead of song artist?

    I recently go an iPod touch 4th Gen. My old iPod sorted music by song artist, but the new one sorts it by album artist. My problem is this: There is an album called Re:generation. It was a project in which 5 DJs each made 2 songs for the album. So I enter the info for each song, but my iPod sorts it by album artist, which is listed as "Re:generation". I wanted the songs to be sorted by the 5 artists that actually made the songs, so there would be 2 songs under 5 different artists. If I wanted to listen to the whole album, I could press the album tab, scroll down to "Re:generation" and play the whole album. This all worked fine on my old iPod, but now it doesn't.
    My first solution was to change the album artist on each song to the artist that created that song. But then by iPod list 5 different albums, so I can't listen to the album as a whole if I wanted to. My next solution was to erase the album artist info  for each song, but now none of the ten songs can be found under the artist tab. I have to go over to the album and pick which song I want to hear.
    If you don't understand, here's an example. 2 of the songs on the Re:generation album are by Pretty Lights. I want to be able to select Pretty Lights under the artist tab, choose all songs, shuffle, and have those 2 songs play at some point. But I would also like to be able to got to the album tag, select Re:generation, and play all 10 songs in order. However, the new setup won't allow me to do this.
    So I'm wondering if I can fix the problem by somehow editing the iPod's sort settings (if possible), or reverting back to the old system (if possible), and why Apple even changed the system in the first place. It seems pretty stupid to me, and I honestly see no reason to change what I thought was a perfect system.

  • Some Album Art Missing in Albums/Artists/Genres

    An issue with iTunes 11.  I have noticed that I have several tracks that are not displaying the album art when I view them in the "Albums", "Artists", or "Genres" modes.  I'm seeing the generic white box with the gray musical note, not the art.  These tracks DO have art attached to them.  The art is there when I bring up the track's "get info" box.  It also displays next to the progress bar and in the pop-up album art player window that shows up when I click the art.  But it's refusing to display in the main window in any of those three modes.  How do I fix this?

    Been watching this problem an these forums and no known (easy) fix.
    What I've done is manually:
         From the ALBUMS pane, select the offending Album
                   Select an individual track and do Get Info
                   In the Get Info window, Press the Next button.     
                   That usually works .... but if not
                   Select the cover art, cut it (CMD-X)
                   Press the Next Button, then the Previous Button to go back to the empty pane
                   Paste the art (CMD-V)
                   Press OK to exit  .....

  • How do I combine a purchased bonus track album and the same, regular album on my iPhone?

    I recently purchashed the several songs from the "bonus track version" of Cat Power's new album, and then used "complete my album" in iTunes to purchase the rest of the album.  However, when I view the album on my iphone, two versions appear of the same album: (1) the bonus track version with some songs and (2) the rest of the purchased songs as the regular album.  How can I combine these two so I can just listen to the album straight through??

    I had the exact same problem even after I ensured all of the album "Info" data were identical.  iTunes and my iPod Classic treated all songs as ONE album.  But my iPhone and iPad treated the songs as TWO albums.
    To fix, I had to completely change the album name and sync my iPhone/iPad.  For example, I changed the album name as follows:
         "Battle Born (Deluxe Edition)" > "Battle Born". 
    Note that when I changed the album name in iTunes like this:  
         "Battle Born (Deluxe Edition)" > "Battle Born" >  "Battle Born (Deluxe Edition)"
    ... and then sync'd, there was no change on my iPhone/iPad.
    I think the key is changing the name so that it differs from what the iPhone/iPad has.  Maybe the indexes aren't rebuilt?  Who knows.
    If you want to revert back to the original album name, you must change the name in iTunes and sync again.

  • Nomad Explorer Problems: Genres, Albums, Artists all bad, Song Lists F

    I got the latest of everything, running on Windows Me, Zen Touch mp3 player.
    Worked fine out of the box, player works just fine, the Genres, Artists, Albums are all great there. While it shows the songs lists just fine -and- allows me to copy new songs and edit/delete/etc existing songs, the Nomad Explorer under windows shows the same repeated list of techno-glyphs (non-ascii characters) for each of the Genres, Artists or Albums that should appear. If I dare to click on some of these items I get the following error:
    "Explorer has caused an error in CTNJBDB.DLL"
    I have googled and searched the forums for references to the DLL file and find none.
    I downloaded the Notmad Explorer (3rd party software) and it shows the Genres, Artists, Albums just fine.
    Gotta love windows.
    Does anyone know what is wrong and what will fix it's I deleted the Creative folders in my windows area for the database (so it can recreate) and that does not work. Totally uninistalled the nomad software and reinstalled latest, same error.

    All I can say is that Nomad Explorer is not a very wonderful piece of software, and Notmad is far more preferable in my experience. Just stick with Notmad if you can.

  • Music Manager - Not Recognising Album/Artist

    Hi All,
    This seems to be a bit of a **bleep** - Music Manager is not recognising my Track/Album/Artist titles when I import my music files.
    I keep all my tunes in iTunes. Now, I think probably 90% or above of the world population use iTunes to manage their music files, so I'm assuming Music Manager would have been developed with this in mind and should integrate fully on something as simple as a track/artist/album title tag?
    Or is there something stupid I'm doing - I have a 5500 and run XP, all up to date.
    It's damn annoying to have hundreds of songs on your phone, but when you go jogging/snowboarding/holidays you can't tell which artists you've got on there!
    Any news on this chaps? I really don't want to be individually editing hundreds or thousands of tags - is there an update planned for this? Seems like a big bugbear for what are supposed to be 'media phones'.

    What you can do is from your phone songs copy those songs into My collection of Nokia Music Manager, then all your artists details will be displayed if the artist column is checked (ticked) in Customize view in View option of Nokia Music Manager,the songs which are copied in My collection only be displayed... Yeah i too agree this is an akward but this is how it works

  • Album Artist...Broken

    This isn't a question per se, and I'm not looking for any responses. I just want Apple iTunes + iPod developers to know that the Album Artist criteria for songs in iTunes messes with the ordering of the songs on the iPod (but not in iTunes). For example, if I have a CD by "John Doe Band" and the album is called "Album" and each song has an appropriately labeled track number, but two of the songs (songs 2 and 11, let's say) have listed "John Doe" under Album Artist and all the rest of the songs have this field blank, then those two songs will be the first two songs on the iPod under "Artists" --> "John Doe Band" --> "Album" instead of being in track order.
    I spent an hour once trying to figure out why iTunes is listing the tracks of a CD in order but not my iPod. I saw that the track numbers were all correct, and there were no misspellings of the artist name or album name. Somehow Album Artist (a field I care not about) was only filled in in the two songs that continually appeared at the top of the list on the iPod.
    If Apple could fix it so that "Album Artist" has no bearing on the ordering on the iPod that would be great.

    no idea, this is the only sorting field giving me problems. It's clearly acting like the entire album is done by the artist on the first track. I have the same playlist in wmp, but I don't have any problems sorting by track artist. I'm too ticked off to try anymore. I have just accepted that this playlist will never work in itunes... It won't even sort the field correctly in the main music section where everything is. It still puts all the artists in the albums like they're just one artist. I guess I better restore the album artists slot and be done with it. all the other sort fields work just fine. There is clearly a link between artist and album that I can't see or it won't show me. What a piece of junk!

  • Not able to view data and song folders/files in my ipod

    Hi All,
    I have a 30 GB Video iPod which I have been using since the past 6 odd months. Recently, my iPod was infected with a virus. I managed to clean up the virus but since then I am not able to view the data and song files or folders stored in the iPod. I can only view a hidden folder with the name 'astry' and when I double click on it nothing is visible. I tried some freewares available for data recovery but they just scan the iPod and tell that so many number of files are available. But for retrieving them I will have to buy the software.
    Has anyone faced similar project? Does anyone knows any solution to this problem?

    First be more clear about Aria Application. As Aria, is been related to an hrms part of an organization carrying the people infomation and it has some separate features too.
    But in your prespective i couldnt able to understand what do you want to do with that packeged application.
    Since you want to customize the aria application according to your organization needs means, First collect all your necessary organization information that is needed(like tables etc.). Then substitute those (i.e) your organization tables in the appropriate places in the form of query.
    Please dont use the same Aria people table, as the Oracle may framed according to their employee information. Nearly Aria application has 200 supporting objects. If you want to use the same objects means whether u r going to creating nearly 200 supporting objects..It is not worth at all.
    Please be more clear in your requirement that, what you are doing, and then raise the question. Be more prepared with your tables along with datas, and let give your reply once you were been prepared with your organization details table.
    As there are more peoples in the forums to help you other than me.

  • Song and Artist Info missing under itunes but not in the original file, and putting track number next to certian songs. Help

    i recently updated my itunes...today i opened it up and moticed abuout 100 songs missing...they are now at the bottom of itunes song list with a number next to them with information mission such as this the example below
    01 human                                                                 (this song should have the killers name as artist and cd title, etc)
    01 hosanna     hillsong united                                 (this song should have the cd title to it)
    02 lay me down                                          burning light
    02 leave out all the rest
    02 let it be                       the beatles
    03 papercut
    when i go under the original folders and files in the itunes folder everything is normal no missing info, etc. but under itunes orgnising its picking and choosing the same songs and putting the track number next to it and others songs in the same cd not. plus info missing. under the infor when i click right button all info missing there...but not under original file.

    A response on this subject from another post:
    It could be that you have inadvertently imported these CDs into iTunes as part of a compilation. If so, the artists won't show in the artists menu on the iPod.
    To check, highlight the tracks on one of the offending artists CDs in iTunes, right click and select "get info". This brings up a multiple song info window, and from there you can check if you have 'yes' in the box marked "part of a compilation".
    If you have, select 'no' instead and click 'ok'. Do this with any CD that has this issue. This will alter the info in iTunes, and you should then connect your iPod and synchronize the changes.
    The problem arises because the information contained on the Gracenote CD Data Base (where iTunes gets all it's album/artist/track info from), is sometimes incorrect. It can show CDs as compilations when in fact they are not.

    These are user-to-user forums, you are not talking to Apple here.
    Do you mean that you can't download it or that you've downloaded them but the tracks don't play ?
    Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting the incomplete tracks from your iTunes library and redownload it via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
    If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if they re-download in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that album and use the 'Report a Problem' link (iTunes support should reply within, I think, 24 to 48 hours).
    Some people have had a problem with the 'report a problem' link (it's been taking people to this site on a browser instead of showing a form in iTunes) - if it does that to you then try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page.

    i have tried importing ensuring all artist info is the same, still i miss certian tracks from the album.itunes reads it as an album but when imported i have the odd track missing, help help..please

    Generally all you need to do is fill in an appropriate Album Artist. For more details see my article on Grouping Tracks Into Albums, in particular the topic One album, too many covers.
    Sorting on the album column may help to reveal the missing tracks which could be sorted elsewhere in the library and so only appear to be missing.

  • Some Artwork missing in Album and Artist view

    So, after updating to iTunes 11 and my library being trashed. I now have a restored library on Windows 7 with all plycounts and ratings in place. So far so good but a lot of my artwork is missing in both Artist and Album view. I took the trouble to tag my artwork to each file and as I have a 160gb library I don't fancy much doing that over again.
    Incidentally when I choose a track, from an album that appears to have no artwork it **sometimes** shows up in the now playing section of the interface as a small icon.
    I have even tried pasting in artwork to an album or two but they still don't show.
    Any help or advice greatly appreciated.

    A similar thing happened to me but on my iphone. On your laptop make sure that in your albums the songs have album artwork. For me they had it all but when i synced it to my phone the album artwork didnt show for some of the albums so I plugged my phone in and unchecked sync songs to delete the songs from my phone and then rechecked sync music to bring the music back to the phone and all the album artwork were there.     I have created a contract with a foreign (european) vendor. When doing the call-off from the contract I get this message "The import data is incomplete or missing" because the import procedure is'nt copied to the PO.
    The foreign trade data (<b>Commodity code</b> and <b>Export/import material group</b> is maintained in the Material master.
    In the Purchasing Info Record I can specify the Import Procedure and that's copied to the PO.
    How am I able to copy the Import Procedure to my PO, when calling off from a contract.

    Hi,
    If you want to get that message eleminated then you need to fill in all the data in the header and item level import data tab in PO(call Off)
    Make use of the small button Incomplete analysis which you would find on import tab page in PO.
    It will tell you which dayta is not maintained.
    Mostly you will have to enter data in the sub tab Origin/Destination/Countries Involved tab for Import procedure and BusinessTrans Types fields.
    If you do not find any values then maintan it.To do so press F1 on the field then it would take you to Performance assistance screen.From there you click the key icon which will take you to the correct IMG node.
    Like this maintain every field the analysis suggests you both for item level and also Header level.
    By the way even if you do not maintain this data, system should allow you to save the PO.

  • Downloaded album missing tracks

    I recently downloaded the album "Thunder, Lightning, Strike (Bonus Tracks)" by The Go! Team. It contains the correct number of tracks, with the correct titles, but two of them are in fact duplicates. Can anyone tell me how to remedy this? The vanilla version of the album doesn't seem to have the same issue, but it would cost me extra to download the missing tracks from there.

    You could try deleting the tracks that are wrong, then using iTunes Store > Quick Links > Purchased > Music > Not in My Library to redownload them.
    If the problem persists use the report a problem links in your account history to contact iTunes Store support. Be clear exactly which tracks by number and title you are missing and that redownloading them yourself from your purchase history hasn't fixed things. Check the previews of those tracks in the store in case they are in error too.
