Incomplete sync of video podcasts and have plenty of storage available
Hi,
I have a video ipod with plenty of free space (30+ gig). Not all of my video podcasts in my itunes library sync to my ipod. I have tried both "auto syncing" amd "manually" dragging them from the library to the the ipod. It is very frustrating becuase I may only get one or two podcasts while there are 10 that I want to view. All the podcasts I am trying to sync where obtained on the itunes website and are the correct file types for the video ipod. In additon, my itunes says I have the lastest verision of software for my ipod and it is "up to date". Anyone have any ideas to help. I really appreciate your feedback.

Itunes/quicktime crashes when trying to play video podcasts and 3GP files
Hello all,
I've searched these forums and didn't see anything that might help me, so if know of any solutions posted already, please let me know. I have an HP laptop(AMD Turion 64 X2 2.0 GB processor, 2 GB or RAM) running Windows Vista Home Premium. I used to be able to play 3GP files at one time with Quicktime, but now I cannot. Then, the other day I tried to play a video podcast and it starts to play, then says, "Itunes has stopped working". Quicktime does the same thing with 3GP files. This was before my update to Itunes 8.0. It happpened with Itunes 7.5.11.1 or whatever the last version was. It obviously does the same thing with Itunes 8. I've tried completely uninstalling Itunes and quicktime, then reinstalling them both and I still have the same problem. Just a note: I tried playing the video podcast via Windows Media Playey, and it worked fine, except for no audio(I don't think WMP has AAC support) so I think something is conflicting between Itunes and my computer. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance!Do you have any better luck with that if you update to iTunes 10.6.1.7?

Download and playback of video podcasts and vodcasts
Hi Folks,
I have looked at the Classic features manual, looking for info on downloading *video podcasts* and Vodcasts into itunes, and playing them in ipod Classic. I couldn't get from the manual what I needed to understand the video issue . Does anyone have any advice, anything that I should know, or do, before downloading and playing these two types of video? I have read bits here and there about having to chang format of videos for successful download to itunes and playback on Classic. I am not techy enough to understand. (Just as info, I downloaded "Best of YouTube." It promptly locked itunes forever. I couldn't even uninstall itunes and reinstall. I had to create another User on my computer, in order to get itunes again.)
Questions:
1) Do I have to do some sort of conversion to download and play *video podcasts* and Vodcasts?
2) Are *video podcasts* different from Vodcasts? Or are they the same format--just named differently? Is there anything that I need to do differently in the download process and playback of these two types of video? (FYI--The Bill Moyers show on PBS is where I was confronted with the *Vodcast.

Randyyou don't need additional tools to load the podcast or video podcast to your ipod, excepting an ipod manager like itunes, floola or juice.
Just provide the feed into the ipod manager that you use and you are done. Probably the simplest option is to go with itunes. You need an internet connection though.

FPC wont let me render! I'm a video editor and have over 70 gb worth of videos on the imac which all need to be kept for various clients/backup/original versons but now beloved imac is full, only had it for 5 months! Will Ineed external hard drive every 5 months?? This can't be I've already resorted to getting rid of unsed applications such as garage band, iTunes,address book ect. I've trashed everything I could. what next ???
My video files are massive, converting them to a different format doesn't reduce the size of them it just turns them into mp4 or apple pro res ect

I know many have this issue but i can't find a solution to the problem. i get message saying insuffisiant disk space in the volume iPhoto library and i have plenty of space available. i have the new macbook pro with retina display. i have never seen this message before and i have 2 other macbooks and have had many other also. i am assuming this is a problem with the new macbook retina. does anyone know the exact fix to this issue? i have seen many sugestions to try to fix this issue but none have solved the issue for anyone that i can find in the Apple Support Community. thank for looking into this in advance.
******A true apple fan********Actually your suggestions are the ones that i have tried. i have seen that you have tried to help others with this issue and the only one that i could find that said they found the problem said that it was an ilife update issue and it fixed it and i have no available updates. i know it has to do with something in photo stream because it happens when i create a new library and it is loading the photos but i get the message before i reach the maximum 1000 photos. so i've tried updating, new library(first backing up photos and then deleting them from iPhoto), reinstalling OSX many times, running disc utilities. I called Apple the first day i had this issue and i was the first person to call them for support with the retina display and i actually had it escalated to a senior advisor and we thought we fixed the problem but we did not. i am pretty fluent in dealing with troubleshooting these type of issues and this is the first time i'm reaching out to the community. i figured now that the retina has been out some time now that there would be an obvious answer to this issue. thanks for the quick reply.

I want to set up 5 different ipods to sync from one library, but want to be able to control what is synced to each ipod and have it remember that for future synching and just look for new songs and not sync all the other music in the library

Does anyone know what "other" means in the sync summary bar? I have 850mb using storage space in my iphone and can't understand what that is. I have tried to delete everything, restore to factory settings and change the icloud account. Thanks.

Inserting video clip and have both audios at once
Hi everyone, hopefully somone can help answer my question. My friend has a video blog and the person who used to do all of his technical stuff is no longer with him, so he's trying to figure it all out, and I figured I'd try to help him.
In iMovie, does anyone know how to insert a video clip into the main video clip and have the inserted video being shown on the screen but the audio of both videos playing at the same time, with no break in continuity of the main video's audio? Then, how to transition from the inserted video with both audios playing at the same time back to just the main video, again with no breaks in audio continuity? I know it's possible on FinalCut Pro, because that is what his tech person used, but for some reason that program freezes my friend's computer, so he's stuck with iMovie for now.

Everything you said is great, EXCEPT that I want to KEEP the audio on the inserted video in ADDITION to the audio on the original clip. So to break it down....
- Main video clip is playing.
- Segue into the inserted video clip. Have the screen be showing the inserted video clip and have it be playing it's own audio, WITHOUT interrupting the audio of the original/main video.
- Inserted video clip plays on the screen and you hear both the audio of the inserted video clip in addition to whatever my friend is saying on the main audio....To give you an example, my friend blogs about figure skating. So he will be discussing a competition and the screen is showing him at his desk talking about the different skaters. While he is discussing a certain skater, he may input a clip of their performance and you will see and hear them skating to their music, but still be able to hear him discussing it uninterrupted in the background.
- Once the inserted clip ends, the video switches back to my friend at his desk, with his commentary uninterrupted.
Am I making sense? lol -
I just subscribed no new video podcast and download restarts again and again
i just subscribed no new video podcast and whenever it tries to download the episode the download cancels and restarts when some kbs of podcast is left to download, and this loop goes on, struck here. and i am not able to download even one episode.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then take an action that isn't working the way you expect. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
Some private information, such as your name or email address, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting. -
I recently dropped my ipad and had to get a new one. I backed up the first I pad and used the icloud to reload all my data on my new ipad. Now when I go to backup the new ipad it says I cannot because I don't have enough ICloud storage available.
If you can't get the password correct, you CANNOT restore from that backup.
However, if you've been using your phone as recommended by Apple, there should be minimal data loss.
Your iTunes library is on your computer, so you can synch all your apps, music, movies, ringtones, etc, on to your new phone.
Similarly, contacts should be synched to Address Book, Outlook, or a cloud service for you to easily synch back to your new phone.
Pictures taken from your old phone and not synched to your computer are lost, but you would have been synching those photos to your computer frequently as recommended. Other photos that you synch TO your iPhone are still on your computer.
You won't be able to get text messages back. -
I have 17.2GB storage available on I cloud yet my I pad can't even upgrade a simple app as it says it is full - it says I have 0 bytes available

The purpose of iCloud storage is to store backups and put files in order to be synced through all your devices, not to use it as an additional local storage. This means that you cannot put any app there if you do not have enough space on your device; in other words, you have to delete data from your iPad in order to update apps.
