Inconsistency File Content Conversion

Hi,
My scenario is file to r/3 wherein the source file is a fixed length file. So I am using file content conversion in my sender adapter.
My source structure looks like:-
DT_TRAN
|__RECORD 1..unbounded
|_____HEADER 1
|_____QUOTE 0...unbounded
|_____ORDER 0...unbounded
|_____INVOICE 0...unbounded
|_____BILLING 0...unbounded
|_____CONTACT 0...unbounded
|_____FOOTER 1
I am getting this error while executing the scenario.
Conversion of file content to XML failed at position 0: java.lang.Exception: ERROR consistency check in recordset structure validation (line no. 5: missing structure(s) before type 'Header'.
However, I checked the record in line no.5 and it's clean and perfect. But still getting the error. If I remove this record and execute, the file is picked and data is processed.
In File Content Conversion, I have used the following parameters:-
Recordset Name = Record
Recordset Structure = HEADER,1,QUOTE,,ORDER,,INVOICE,,BILLING,,CONTACT,*,FOOTER,1
I am using Key Fields to separately identify the details records. I used ignoreRecordsetName = true. In this case, in XML message payload does not contain <Record> node and so there is an error.
Can anyone suggest, how to overcome the issue such that all the records in the file are processed.

The content conversion parameters are:-
Record.endSeparator = 'nl'
Record.fieldNames = HEADER,QUOTE,ORDER,INVOICE,BILLING,CONTACT,FOOTER
Record.fieldSeparator = 'nl'
like the above, i have done for all the nodes. However, if i remove the record from line 5 and process the file, the file is picked up and processed succesfully. i have checked many times. the line no.5 record is not having any issues with structure or fixed length calculation. for some reaosn, it gives the error.

some times some segements will not come with Idoc..

all Segement in that idoc are optional..

.txt file is of fixed lenths with no field Seperator
IDOC contains number segements..
the resultant txt file if we created first 3 segements data..
00112345 address1 street1
00212345 office1 street1
00312345 homw2 city2 street2
if we create 001 segment and 003 segement the text file should be
00112345 address1 street1
00312345 homw2 city2 street2
but for new row of each segment ... endseperator 'nl' after first segemnt in Content conversion parameter and 002 segement values..and again endSeperator 'nl'...
if we are not sending 002 segement data in the IDOC ..then it will give blank
00112345 address1 street1
00312345 homw2 city2 street2
my requirement is if we dont send 002 segement data then no blank row .how to check if the segement is having data or not and also how to declare it in Content Conversion parameters of File Adapters.

FIle Content Conversion Problem in IDOC-XI-File Scenario

I am doing IDOC-XI-FILE scenario.
I am facing one problem related to File Content Coversion.My requirement was to generate a dynamic file like %store_code%_%current_date%_sitemaster.xml , I have completed the dynamic generation successfully .
Now there is slight change in the requirement ,we have to suppress the current_date node of the xml content . i have tried to suppress the current_date using these DATE.fieldFixedLengths 0 , Date.fixedLengthTooShortHandling Cut , But I am unable to suppress it Can some body provide me the details on this .
The output xml version generated by Reciever file adapter is as below :

If u see my earlier reply, I mentioned that u can not suppress the field from the one node.i.e Form SITE_DATA data type u can not suppress the field called CURRENT_DATE.
My suggestion is that , modify the Data type in such a way that you will be having two nodes as I have mentioned earlier. Then use the Suppress Logic for the Current Date.
So it will look like this-

So ur SITE_DATA is not having a field called CURRENT_DATE. This field is in separate node (segment ) called CURR_DATE. Now u can use the Suppress Logic for the same like this.
CURR_DATE.fieldFixedLengths - 0
CURR_DATE.fixedLengthTooShortHanling - Cut
And in your Variable Substitution you can use the date from the other segment called CURR_DATE.

As per the client req I'm going with FCC. The file is picking fine with the FILE. But not picking with the FCC.
The parameters which I gave are as follows.
SOURCE I feel it is fine since file is picking fine and keeping the same for FCC also.

Poll Interval -- 10
Processing Mode -- Delete
Empty-File Handling -- Process empty files
CONTENT CONVERSION Parameters
Document Name -- (am giving sender data type name) DT_send
Document NSpace -- http://OTO-Continue.com
Recordset Name -- SEND
Recordset Structure -- SEND,*
Recordset Sequence -- Ascending
Recordset per Message -- 0
And in the table the parameters am settings are
SEND.fieldNames abc,bcd,cde,def,efg,ghk
SEND.fieldFixedLengths 7,7,7,7,7,7 (because each and every field has 7 characters)
SEND.keepIncompleteFields No
SEND.fieldFixedLengthType char
SEND.fieldContentFormatting trim
SEND.fieldEndSeparator 'nl'
This was the configuration. But this is not working I monitored the Communication Channel and file is not reading and not getting deleting.
What actually went wrong in above configuration. Why it is not working.

There is no root node, so in your FCC you need to mention your RecordsetName and you can ignoreRecordSetName in result structure. Check the following blog simulates your requirement.

Problem in file content conversion from XML to CSV

I am finding problem in file content conversion. I need to convert the following XML file into CSV file:

The problem I am facing is while specifying the content conversion parameters in communication channel i dont know what recordset structure i should mention as all the records are directly under root. If I mention recordset structure as "ns0:MT_CROSS_REF" and parameters as
ns0:MT_CROSS_REF.fieldSeparator ,
ns0:MT_CROSS_REF.endSeparator 'nl'
i get error in communication channel monitoring and no file is posted.
Please help me as to what correct parameter i should mention in my case.

Hi Chirag,
I cannot change the xml file as it comes after mapping idoc to a message type. How can I add ROOT in the xml? My message type is like MT_CROSS_REF and it has those 6 fields as in the XML (Update_type, PLU etc.). I do the mapping of these fields from a IDOC and get the XML.

Complex file content conversion in case of CSV file

Hi Friends,
What you see below is generated from Excel i.e excel file saved as CSV file. This file i need to map in XI.
Problem is i have to take only the data and not the header part.
for e.g in this particular line
Employee ID          :,,E00315
I need only E0315 and not the header value. Similarly i have to find some solution to map all the required data.
Please suggest me how to use file content conversion in such scenarios.
Solution is required on top priority. Points will be immdly rewarded.

In this CSV file, what all i need is the value E00315 after the label Employee ID. I used in FCC the parameters u asked me to do. Also in the Document Offset i gave value 3 so that the first three lines are ignored.

Conversion of file content to XML failed at position 0: java.lang.Exception: ERROR converting document line no. 4 according to structure 'tims_header':java.lang.Exception: ERROR in configuration / structure 'tims_header.': More elements in file csv structure than field names specified!

Field values are being identified according to field content conversion, but, the hierarchy of the fields is missing.
Can you please tell me how should i change my FCC config?

You will always get a flat structure from FCC. If you want hierarchichal strucuture, you have to create a target and map. You will get only like -
Root
--Recordset
Group1
Fields
Grop2
Fields
Group3
Fields
VJ

I have a problem with file content conversion in receiver file adapter.
This is my recordset structure: Header_Record,1,Claim_Record,*,Check_Rec,1
These are the content conversion parameters:
Header_Record.fieldSeparator = ,
Header_Record.endSeparator = 'nl'
Claim_Record.fieldSeparator = ,
Claim_Record.endSeparator = 'nl'
Check_Rec.fieldSeparator = ,
Check_Rec.endSeparator = 'nl'
In SXMB_MONI, i can see that the data is correctly extracted from proxy, and correctly mapped to receiver message, and i see a checkered flag (success).
But, Adapter status is RED with the following error message:
Conversion initialization failed: java.lang.Exception: java.lang.Exception: Error(s) in XML conversion parameters found: Parameter '1.fieldFixedLengths' or '1.fieldSeparator' is missing
In communication channel monitoring, i get the following error message:
Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: Channel has not been correctly initialized and cannot process messages
What is going wrong here? Can anyone please tell me?

Error in Receiver File adapter using File content Conversion

I am getting the following error in the receiver file adapter.
Conversion initialization failed: java.lang.Exception: java.lang.Exception: Error(s) in XML conversion parameters found: Parameter 'statement.fieldFixedLengths' or 'statement.fieldSeparator' is missing
I am using the below parameters for FCC:
Recordset Structure - statement
statement.endSeparator - 'nl'
statement.fieldSeparator - '0X09'
statement.fieldNames -xblnr,wrbtr,newbs,kostl,newko,prctr,xref1,rke_wwfud,rke_wwst3,blart,bukrs,bldate,budat,gjahr,monat,ctype,waers,bktxt,posnr,wbs_element,mwxkz,businessplace,businessplace,c_waers,c_wrbtr,g_ctype,g_waers,g_wrbtr,h_ctype,h_waers,h_wrbtr,trade_id,lob,sgtxt,zuonr,reason_rev,ldgrp,tcode,lifnr
ignoreRecordsetName - true
Please let me know where i am going wrong.

I feel the problem in your content conversion parameters is with
statement.fieldNames and ignoreRecordsetName
When you are confirguring receiver file adapter for file content conversion the above one is not required. Please refer below link for details on configuring content conversion in file adapter

I'm using File content conversion in receiver Adapter
I want my output like this.
ABCDEFGHF
I don't need the Segment Seg1.
In my parameters RecordsetStructure only I have Seg2 and the details for this Segment
but When I receive a file, the adapter convert with segment 1.

can you help me?.

easiest alternative is mentioned here already, drop it in the mapping.
You can also try to write a java pgm and invoke it as an OS command. that cuts the segment1 out before passing it to content conversion. ..more painful..but will work.

File Content Conversion i.e Flat file 2 Flat file

Hi guys,
I am new 2 SAP XI
and i am trying 2 do "Flat File To Flat File".
Input File contains following data:
Name:varun
Surname:rajaraman
Address:B-2
Employee no:8204
i.e Each Data is in separate Row.
Output File Should contain the following data:
I am varun rajaraman staying at B-2 bearing employee no. 8204.
(name,surname) (address) (Employee No.)
i.e data should be in a single row.
So, i have a problem of reading the data from input file i.e data from each row and transfering it into output file along with which i need 2 insert "i am " ,"staying at", etc.
pls tell me the procedure in detail.

File is not creating on the Receiver for File Content Conversion

Hi,
i have created a scenario with this blog

for sender side i am using File Content Conversion to read .txt file and on receiver side i need xml file i have done that.
when i placed the file in the sender folder it gets picked up and i checked in Communication Channel monitporing in Runtime WorkBench it is processed Successfully. but no XML File is created on the Receiver side. i am unable to see the messages on SXMB_MONI also.
Please suggest some ideas to solve this.

If the file got picked and in Communication Channel monitoring RWB you can see that it is processed without any errors ,, then i feel it should come in come.Please check the Audit log in RWB, there you can see the error message if any.
Please check the connection parameters in FTP and make sure that the same sender folder is
not being used by any other scenario.If you have done any recent changes then do a cache refresh .
Please post if you see any error in content conversion.

File Content Conversion Parameters in FIle Adapter

I am doing a scenario - XML file to Text file using File content conversion parameters in Receiver File Adapter Channel.
I given FCC Parameters like:
DATA.addHeaderLine - '0'
DATA.fieldSeparator - ,
DATA.endSeparator - 'nl'
But im getting error in Receiver File Adapter as - fieldSeparator not specified.
i would be greatful if any one help me.

Error in reciever file content conversion

I have the following error in the file content conversion
Could not process due to error: java.lang.Exception: Exception in XML Parser (format problem?):'java.lang.Exception: Message processing failed in XML parser: 'Conversion configuration error: Unknown structure '' found in document', probably configuration error in file adapter (XML parser error)'

File Content Conversion Error in PI 7.1 (file to Proxy)

I am working on File to Proxy Scenario and I gave the File content conversion as below, File is picking up by the PI Server when I look at Communication Channel Monitoring, However when I open the Message ID in the CC monitoring it says as
404 Not Found
The requested resource does not exist.
and I do not see any message SXMB_MONI(Because the content is not converted), Can anyone give an idea how to debug this

Can you check the error in sender communication channel?
Go to RWB ---> Component Monitoring ---> Adapter Engine ---> Communication cahnnel monitoring --> it displays new page. Then give your file sender communication cahnnel name. There you will definitely see some error.
The error what you are getting is a different to this one. Can you please check the error what I have given above path.
