Inconsistent calendar data precluding calendar sync

For the past week or so, iCal on my iMac has been having difficulty syncing with MobileMe. I spent an entire evening on the phone with an Apple tech support guy, and we walked through a process in which he had me repair the permissions on the iMac and set things up to protect the good copy of the calendar from being compromised. Then he either caused or observed the resetting of my calendars on MM. Immediately after that, iCal seemed to sync "properly" with MM and I went on about my business.
A couple of days later, though, I discovered that none of the events that I had entered on either my MacBook or iPhone appeared on the iMac, and none of the events that I had entered on the iMac appeared in MM (and thus either of the remote devices). Subsequently, I have tried to reset the whole process by pointing the sync arrow in System Preferences toward the iMac and then presumably overwriting the calendar data on the iMac. Didn't work!!
Occasionally over this period I have gotten the "inconsistent calendar data" message while iCal has been syncing with MM, but I can't figure out where the inconsistency might lie.
I'm thinking that the only way to resolve this is to delete the entire calendar from iCal and then download the MM calendar again. What I don't know is whether or not this will actually solve the problem, or just "update" the calendar on the computer without fixing whatever the syncing issue is.
What is the best way to delete the calendars on the iMac - delete them from within iCal or delete the calendar data in the Library? If it is the latter, where is the actual calendar data? The iMac is on OS 10.5 and the calendars, obvious in 10.4, have changed names and moved.
Any other ideas are certainly welcome.

I'm having the same problem. I've been using Microsoft Entourage but began having difficulty syncing it back to iCal and therefore my iPhone. I reverted to paper. I am trying to reestablish my usage of iCal, but whatever appointment I add to iCal, does not appear in Mobile Me and therefore my phone.
I'm getting the same error: "Inconsistent Data" and a suggestion to reset Mobile Me within system preferences. I don't want to reset all data. But I'm stuck!

  • Calendar sync stopped working: "Unable to process organizer data"

I'm trying to help a consulting client whose Blackberry Q10 stopped synchronizing calendar data 5 days ago. It looks like that's the only thing he synchronizes with his desktop. I've tried looking up answers, but I've found very little information about this problem, and the few suggestions I found have not worked.
    Phone: Blackberry Q10
    Model#: SQN100-2
    Software Release: 10.1.0.4189
    Blackberry Link Release: 1.2.1.31
Symptoms: After clicking on the Sync Contacts/Calendar button, Blackberry Link sits for a very long time on the "Syncing your contacts and calendar appointments. Do not disconnect your device." screen, with sporadic activity on the progress meter, before being returned to the Sync Contacts and Calendar Appointments screen. In the lower left, a warning message "Sync was unsuccessful" is displayed. When I click the Show Recent Activity link under that, a Recent Activity screen that repeats "Sync was unsuccessful" along with a second message, "Unable to process organizer data" appears.
Is there a way to resolve this short of restoring the phone to factory defaults? The calendar data on my client's phone has now gone 5 days without being synced, and he doesn't want to lose the latest changes.

HipsterZ10, I didn't mean to suggest that you aren't entitled to gripe, only that doing so in response to a post on a community support forum isn't particularly useful. (Do BlackBerry support teams even monitor this forum?)
You sound like someone who knows his way around BlackBerry very well, and I would love to do some brainstorming with you if you're so inclined. I have nowhere near as much BlackBerry experience as you have, but I have worked in many areas of computing support for over 25 years. I'd like to think that between the two of us - plus anyone else who can chime in with something constructive - we can come up with something that helps us all out,.
    With that in mind:
You've tried uninstalling and reinstalling without success. Did you just uninstall and reinstall the latest version of BlackBerry Link, or did you try uninstalling the latest version and going back to one that used to work? (Or did you try upgrading because the previous version stopped working?)
Did you try any direct edits to the Registry to clean out any BlackBerry settings that the uninstall program might've left behind? Uninstallers are often not kept up to date as software developers make changes to software, so they often leave digital detritus in the Registry. This usually has no effect on anything else, but can prevent software that was uninstalled from working properly when it's reinstalled.
You also mention that you've tried a lot of settings changes. Would you please share with us the settings changes that you made?
I know from other companies' devices that updates to the Windows software is sometimes accompanied by firmware or programming changes on the device. Does anyone know if that's the case for BlackBerry Link updates? If it is, then simply uninstalling BlackBerry Link may not be enough.
Have you been unable to sync only the calendar, or your contacts as well? (I don't know what else BlackBerry Link can synchronize.) My client has only been trying to sync his calendar. If the problem is confined to calendar sync, is there maybe a cleanup procedure that needs to be run on the device or on the Windows side to clean up old appointments every now and then? I know of other products that will fail to sync their calendars if there's too much old data.
Finally, does BlackBerry Link just sync the BlackBerry device with itself, or does it sync it with Outlook? That wasn't clear to me the last time I was in my client's office; he uses Outlook 2003, but I wasn't certain if BlackBerry Link was connected with it in any way. Come to think of it, my client also uses Windows XP, which does not come with the .NET framework by default. Some commercial software depends on particular versions of the .NET framework, and I've seen situations in which Microsoft updates to the .NET framework breaks 3rd party software. Does BlackBerry require .NET, and, if so, does it try to install the version it needs? To sum these things up, we could be looking at lack of support for older versions of Windows, Outlook  or the .NET Framework.
Those are some ideas; let's see if we can narrow down the list. I should be back at my client's office on Monday, but if anyone else has time to try any of this today, kindly post what you discover here.

  • Where does iTunes  calendar sync get its info data  from?

Does it get it from one source? for example, I see a birthday in iCal, but it does not want to appear on my iPhone, and I can't figure out why that should happen. I keep looking for a source of data that might not jive , like looking in Entourage address book or looking in Apples Address book. Both those sources have the correct information. I normally use Entourage as my mail program. Bottom line, my question seems to come back to what data source does the iphone/itunes interface use for Calendar sync, or for that matter, contacts, and mail?

It syncs to the program that you selected.

  • How do I remove one of the calendars from iCloud but keep it on the iPhone to sync with Outlook by USB and keep the other calendars synced on iCloud ?

iPhone 5, Macs and iPads at home, Windoze7 system at work.
Using iCloud to sync calendars, contacts, etc on all the home devices.  Used USB cable to sync at work with the Windows system, with the Outlook 2010 corporate account (corporate server).  I need only the Outlook calendar to be synced, syncing the contacts created too many problems with duplication, etc.  No need for that.  Worked fine until the latest upgrate to iOS7 and iTunes 11.1.  Used to have a calendar that was not on iCloud and was simply and exclusively syncing between the iPhone and the Windows computer at work. The other 3 calendars synced fine with the macs and iOS devices via iCloud but not with the machine at work - keeping private records private.
Upon the iOS upgrade, all calendars are now on iCloud.  I am no longer able to remove one - for security too - from the iCloud and sync it with the Windows computer exclusively.  I managed to sync it once on the PC with iTunes by switching iCloud off on the iPhone before connection by USB cable.  Trying it again, it tells me that it will erase all items on the Outlook account (the "more than 25% of your records are going to change" alert) and won't add or modify any.  I stopped the sync in time...
Tried on the iCloud site for a solution to remove the calendar, nothing.
There is no iCloud setup on this corporate computer - no access permitted. The USB cable connection is the only solution and up to the upgrade of the iOS this went seamlessly.
    Any solution out there?
    Thanks
    Vladski

I share a similar situation (usb iTunes sync with Outlook with my corporate laptop; personal calendar on icloud).
With IOS7, at first, iTunes/Windows does not propose Outlook sync anymore. I need to switch off calendar from iTunes to enable usual usb sync with Outlook. I had to sync it twice while checking "replace iphone data" to get a stable behaviour (like before) IOS7.When I try to re-enable icloud calendars, it proposes me to merge them...
I did not test merging so far...
IOS7 and iTunes 11.1 are not completely polished ;-)

  • Outlook 2003 + iPhone calendar sync problem solved

Here is how I solved my sync problem. Seems a lot of people have the same problem here with Outlook sync suddenly not working after it worked fine for a long time.
I've had Outlook 2003 calendar sync with my iPhone for a few month without any problem, but a few days ago the sync suddenly stopped without any error message. iTunes Diagnostic found no problem and I followed all the steps that Apple outlines to fix the problem but nothing worked (TS2776).
As Apple asked to, I created a new user account on my Windows machine and setup a few test calendar entries to sync with my iPhone. That all worked fine.
So I did what Apple doesn't tell you, and I copied my original Outlook Data file (.PST) over to my new user account and tried to sync that one. Now this didn't work. So I knew the problem lies somewhere in my PST file.
I have then tried to create a new one from scratch in my original Windows account, and copy all the data over. Again, it didn't work. So I emptied the file again, and copied all my calendar entries over to the new PST file in batches (first 10, then another 10, etc).
What I found at the end is that one single calendar entry I created a few days ago caused my sync to stop working. Once I removed this entry, everything worked fine again. Don't ask me what was wrong with it (I made a backup just in case Apple wants to see it), but now everything works again.
If you want to save some time to find which one it is, you may start deleting entries that you created just recently before it stopped working.
    Hope that helps.

Hi im having the same problem. I use outlook 2003 on windows xp and until recently my sync (using usb) was working fine. Now it would seem that calendar items are no longer syncing. can you give any further details of the calendar entry which was causing your problem? im wondering if it was added on a certain date perhaps.
I am running the inbox repair tool to see if my pst file has any problems but would appreciate any other help in the mean time.
    Cheers

  • Iphone 3G - Calendar sync issue via Microsoft Exchange

I have my iphone sync fine with mail and contacts via Microsoft Exchange with my work PC outlook, but can not get the calendar to sync. I upgraded to Microsoft 2007 and it sync once (possibly after accepting a meeting invite), but then no updates. I have turned calendars off and on and lost all entries. I do get meeting invites though, but they too disappear.
    Any ideas?

Onicabbit has nailed this one. It has to do with appointments not having an end or start date or having a length of 0 minutes. Track those in outlook (use the category view and make sure you have no filter on which could obscure a few nasty ones), fix the dates and duration (open the meeting or event and add or change one of the dates) and the sync should work.

  • Calendar Sync for Palm won't install Conduit

Hi, I'm trying to install Calendar Sync for Palm 10.1 on Windows 2K. Installation proceeds with no errors, but the conduit does not appear in the Hotsynch conduit list. It does remove the default conduits for Calendar, Date Book and To-Do. I've tried uninstalling Palm Desktop and Calendar synch, and reinstalling them, no luck. HotSynch works fine with the conduits that are left, and works with the default conduits if I don't install the Oracle Calendar Synch. I can't find any mention of this problems on the forum, does anyone have an idea of what could cause it?
    Thanks.

There's a bug on the conduits as to were to find needed DLLs. It depends on setting itself in the path via environment variables.
The thing is that the conduits are not compatible with other Oracle client installations, which also add themselves to the path. An example is Oracle's Instant Client.
Check your system's path to see if you have any other Oracle client directories before CalSync's directory.
I had a TAR created for this and supposedly they will be 'patching' it for next version...

  • Longstanding Exchange Calendar Sync Bug Persists in iOS 7 / 7.0.2

For those who sync their iPhone / iPad / iPod touch to a Microsoft Exchange e-mail environment, you may be aware that there's a longstanding Exchange Calendar Sync bug (affecting iOS 4.x - 6.1.3).  An otherwise functional iDevice may suddenly remain warmer to the touch than normal, exhibit much shorter battery life, and start using cellular data at up to ten times the user's typical pattern.  I've taked with Apple Support several times, and was never able to get an answer.  The fix involves simply opening the Exchange account settings on the iDevice, shutting off calendar sync for thirty seconds, and turning it back on.  This is nothing new.
Over the weekend, an executive’s iPhone 5 (on Verizon) and his iPad 2 (Wi-Fi only), both running iOS 7, began exhibiting runaway connections to my employer’s Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync server.  The user upgraded his iPhone 5 to iOS 7.0.2 over the weekend, but the problem persisted.  In one 24-hour period, his iPhone checked in with our server 45,009 times, while his iPad connected 55,547 times.  Normally we’d expect to see a single device connect a few hundred times per day rather than tens of thousands.
I've written more about it here.

This is still a problem in iOS 7.0.4 as well.  We just had runaway calendar sync behavior on a 4th generation iPad running iOS 7.0.4 (iPad3C4/1102.55400001), which connected 75,436 times in a single 24-hour day.

    Hi silverk,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand the need for all of your calendars to be up to date across all of your devices and how frustrating it can be when they are not syncing as you would expect. In this situation I would suggest reading over and using the attached article for troubleshooting.

  • Calendar Sync, Palm Zire 31 and Mac OS 10.4.6

We just purchased several Palm Zire 31 handhelds because that model is one on Oracle's list as "certified" to work with Calendar Sync. However, I cannot seem to get it to sync properly to Oracle Calendar. Prior to installing Calendar Sync it synced to my Palm Desktop data just fine. Please point me in the right direction.
Here are all the versions and hardware:
Powerbook G4 running Mac OS 10.4.6
Palm Zire 31 running Palm OS 5.2.8
    Palm Desktop software 4.2.1
Oracle Calendar Sync 9.0.4.2.10 (installed on Zire 31)
    Palm HotSync Manager 3.2
    Oracle Calendar (desktop software) 10.1.1.0.2.694

I don't sync a Zire 31, but I do sync a variety of Treos and Tungsten units with 10.4.x. I sync my Events and Tasks with Oracle and my Addresses with the Apple conduit.
Here are the directions I have come up with:
First, make sure you are using the latest Oracle Palm Sync (sounds like you are)
Second, make sure you have the latest iSync Palm conduit (version 3.0.2 under OS 10.4)
open the iSync application, go to the Devices menu, and choose Enable Palm Sync for this device
Click on the device name. Make sure Contacts is checked, but NOT Calendars
    Quit iSync
Open Palm Desktop -> HotSync -> Conduit Settings
choose iSync Conduit and click Conduit Settings. Check the box to enable Palm Sync for device
Open MacintoshHD -> Library -> Application Support -> Palm Hotsync
    move Apple into Conduits folder
move Oracle Calendar Address Conduit into Disabled Conduits folder
HotSync, and you should be good to go.

  • The calendar sync is recently not working correctly, not display "All events" but it only displays the last six months for my individual entries. My repeating entires do go back further, though. How do I fix?

I have an iPad 5.1.1. The calendar sync has started to not work correctly. I have it checked "All events," but it only displays the last two months for my individual entries. My repeating entires do go back further, though. How do I fix?

HI Jason269. Thanks for your reply, however I wrote that I already have "All events" checked. If All Events is checked and it doesn't diaplay all events, how do I fix? It seems this is a common issue, as I have read many others on here state the same problem.
I believe my problem occurred when I synced my iMac calendar to my iPad calendar using yahoo. Yesterday, I unsynced them on my iMac controls. When I checked my iPad calendar, all of my old entries reappeared - but only for five seconds and disappeared again. So, the data is saved and still there but cannot be displayed, even when I have All events checked. In fact, it only shows my individual entries for the last two months, but does show all my recurring entries. If I switched to last six months, I will see everything for the last six months. If I switch back to all events, it is only for the last two months.
As I mentioned, others on here have expressed exactly the same issue, including the two month example and having used yahoo.
For legal purposes, I need to be able to use the information from my indidual calendar entries in an upcoming court case. So I really need to fix this ASAP!

  • Problems with calendar syncing

I am having problems with my calendar syncing... my iPad has the correct date/time, and so does my computer (Mac Pro with Snow Leopard). I use Entourage 2004 on my computer for my calendar. I have the sync on Entourage to sync with iCal, and then in iTunes I tell it to sync with the "Entourage" calendar in iCal.
So when I tried to sync both my iPhone (which always worked before) and my iPad, all of a sudden people's birthdays were a day off, and then it went and duplicated all my calendar entries.
I managed to delete the duplicates with some scripts, and got Entourage looking right. I told Entourage to overwrite iCal's calendar. So both of them looked good. I told iTunes to overwrite the iPad's calendar with the iCal calendar...
and so my "all day" entries on the iPad are now spanning 2 days, and people's birthdays are 2 days off. I have NO idea what the stupid thing is doing, everything is correct in Entourage. But I need to get my calendars working. Please help!!

It turns out that I may have not waited enough time for the wipe of all of my existing calendar appointments to sync through.
I created a few more in outlook, deleted them, checked via the office 365 web calendar they were deleted.
Then I waited another 15 minutes, created the Exchange/Office365 account from scratch, and magic I appear to be back!
(until something else goes wrong that is)

    Hello everyone,
I have 2 questions as below:
    1. Auto Cc function is missing.
    2. iCloud Calendar Sync always error.
    my Q10 is under 10.1.0.4181
I'm very appreciate for your support.

1, the AutoCC was a service of your former BIS account, and there is no BIS account now. Instead, if you're using an IMAP email server, you should find the function to autoCC your emails there.
On an IMAP email account, your sent emails should sync to your server anyway. Why do you need the AutoCC?

I'm responding to Outlook calendar rather than iCloud calendar.
First, let me say this is not normal; calendar sync should take a few seconds.
Are you syncing via USB to your computer, via WiFi to your computer, or through a Microsoft Exchange server?
If you are using WiFi try USB.
If you have a problem on USB also you probably have corrupt entries in the Outlook calendar, or you have a very long history in the Outlook PST. To correct corruption Export the Outlook calendar to CSV (I think the export is on the File menu in Outlook), then import the CSV back to Outlook. This will remove corrupt data records.
