Inconsistent display of hyperlinks

I'm using iWeb for the first time. I've created a page with five hyperlinks and have formated them all the same--same "normal" colors and the same "rollover" colors-- but when I preview them by opening the index.html file or view them online, three of the links display in the wrong "normal" color. I've deleted and re-made them, published them to the folder and overwritten the existing files, and re-published the page to iWeb, but keep getting the same results. Am I missing something/doing something wrong? I appreciate any advice. Thanks.

I noticed that on a web page I had. It turned out the text on that page was in a graphical object and the text on the other pages was not. Replacing the first page with a plain text presentation made my links consistent.
Your problem could be another issue. Best would be to provide a link to your site so we can give it a look.

I have a report which is based on opportunity object, certain columns like DUE DATE, SUBJECT, CREATED DATE are displayed as hyperlinks in BLUE color.I dont want the data in these columns to be displayed with hyperlinks.I want them to be displayed as normal text in black.How do I remove them ?
P.S - I have not provided action links too.

Hi Natraj,
If you select the column properties you have to set the Column Heading Interaction and Vale Interaction (at the Column Format Tab of the Column properties) at "No Interaction".
This should help.

Display a hyperlink within forms 9i

hi,
I want to display the hyperlink on the lefstside of a form using web.show_document.Rightside holds some another frame.But it displays in the whole window.I wnat the link to appear only within the target frame.

when creating frames the you can specify percentages of the available width to each of them. This way you can make sure that the Forms size always is kept. You can apply absolute values too if you donh't like relative values expressed by percentage.
Also, think about using frames that are positioned horizontally not vertically. This way Forms always stays on top and the opened page will be scrollable in the second frame.

URGENT: inconsistent display of design time pages

hello,
I have installed oracle9ias rel 2 on a single machine running on windows xp for academic purposes. i seem to have this problem of getting errors when loading pages and the buttons on the pages doesn't work. sometimes the pages displayed are also messed up and inconsistent. how can i solve this error? Currently,i'm stucked at trying to develop a form for Portal and it keeps on giving me errors on step 4:Formatting and validations.
here's a list of things i've done currently to try to solve the problems :-
-restart OC4J_Portal instance whenever the page doesn't change but it still keeps on giving me errors.
-set my internet explorer to check for newer pages everytime i visit the pages.
-install netscape navigator and hopefully it would perform better than internet explorer. but it's still the same although it improved a bit.
would the situation be improved if i installed Oracle9iAs on windows2003 server environment?
Or would it be better if i installed Oracle9iAS with UTF-8 character types instead of the OS default type?
anybody that has installed oracle portal on a single machine environment and have encountered this problem b4 please help ?i'm so frustrated by keeping my fingers to press f5 for hundreds of times just to get a page load properly. please help it's urgent. thanks in advance

Inconsistent display of navigation pane

Hello folks,
Sorry if this has been covered. Did a search but didn't find
a thread that addressed this issue.
I am generating WebHelp via X5.0.2. We use a
context-sensitive system using RH's Map IDs. Each call displays the
correct Help topic. However, sometimes only that topic displays;
other times, the topic displays with the expected nav. pane,
Contents/Search/etc buttons (which is what I'd prefer). I inherited
the current configuration of RH and cannot find out the cause to
this inconsistency.
Any ideas?

I would think that has to be something to do with an
inconsistency in the way the developers call the help rather than
the output you have produced.

Bookmarks not displayed in hyperlink dialog

My hyperlink list looks like this (b=bookmark flag)

My Project window looks like this:

I've rebooted my computer - still seeing this.
Any info on how to fix this? Thanks for any advice.

Are the bookmarks possibly hidden beyond the visible area of
the dialog where you need to scroll to see them?
I don't believe there is a way to cause them to display
differently in the dialog. The only thing I can think of to suggest
is to try clicking View > By (Topic Title or File Name -
Whichever is opposite to how you are currently viewing).
Additionally, you may wish to try clicking File > Save All and
see if that changes what you see.

How do I display a hyperlink in a Spry data set from static xml?

I have a page that should display files available for clients to open and save. The xml works because all info displays, but I get no link. I've tried putting the <a href></a> tag in, but get an 'undefined' . The current iteration gives me the title, but no link except in Opera where I still get undefined. What am I missing here? Here is the XML line in question:
<doc value="docs/MCB_Landfill_II_75_dwgs.pdf">Dwgs</doc>
This worked in another site, but that used xsd and xml docs rather than the spry dataset. Active link below.

Never Mind. HTML & XML 101. I put the <a href> tag in the html doc and not the xml. I DID have to add an additional line to separate the name from the file name, but who cares.

MBAir inconsistent display detection

Greetings, Apple Support,
Using a brand new MacBook air with a relatively new - purchased new but slightly old - Vizio 24" monitor. At first it worked fine, and then after leaving with my machine and coming back to use the display again it simply would not detect it. I tried the oddly hidden detect display button, did not work. Finally after power cycling the monitor, unplugging the cable countless times with restarts, it worked. Then the next day, didn't. Since then it has been slightly better, and usually when it fails to detect the display I can power cycle it and then it works.
Today, nothing is working. Scouring forums I see a lot of people blaming their display problems on software or firmware updates, which is definetly not the case with my machine, as I bought the machine and display at the same time and haven't updated. (I did update to 10.9.2 today but this changed nothing).
Although it doesn't detect the display, the MacBook screen does flash black for a split second, just like it does when it detects my display--it knows something happened. However the resolution doesn't change and I see no mirroring icon. What's more, system profiler says that nothing is connected to my thunderbolt port.
I'm using a rocket-dog HDMI to thunderbolt cable, seems to be good quality.
Please help me fix this infuriating problem and / or help to restore my admiration for Apple / MacOS.

Displaying a Hyperlink in Smartforms

Hello,
I have a problem with Smartforms. I would like to include a hyperlink in it, so that the URL is not shown, but only the description. For example: For information, click <a href="http://www.google.de">here</a>. (The link links to google, it's just an example). I can mark text as URL, but I always need to enter the full link, which is long and ugly in my case.
I have searched for answers in this forum and found a lot of threads asking the same question. However, in all the answers (mostly containing links), the actual question was not answered. Help would be very much appreciated, as I need this for my diploma thesis.

Leopard Inconsistent Display Drivers?

I just installed Leopard on my iBook G4 12" (mid 2005 model) and since then, the display driver randomly switches between the correct driver and a generic one (or so I'm guessing). The generic driver offers a bunch of unsupported display settings in system profiler, while the correct driver limits the choices to 2 display settings. Is there any way to correct this? I don't get a startup screen nor brightness control function while the generic driver is active (90% of the time). Tried clean installing tiger, still same issues. Tried pram/vram and pmu reset, not working at all. Here is a screenshot of the two driver profiles in system profiler (the correct driver on the left, generic on the right):

I know other users are having brightness control issues as well (in tiger/leopard) so this might also help solve their issues.
Thanks to anyone who can offer ideas on how to fix this. I really don't want to revert to Panther.

The vendor's website has the same info from a year ago ... the actual manuf. of the board is unknown, no name on it ... uses Silicon Image chipset ... but there is no driver update for Leopard. The vendor is a small company that makes enclosures and SATA cables and has poor Mac support. I'm not going to waste my time.

Inconsistent display of tracks per artwork item?

I imported two songs from an album into iTunes. I gave them both the same artwork, marked their track numbers (like 10/25) correctly, and marked them both as 'part of a compilation'. When I browse music with the artwork column expanded, each track is listed by itself instead of both of them on the same album.
If I close the artwork column, they appear as I would expect, together when sorted by album. I can't get these to go on the same album with the artwork column open no matter what I do. Some other albums have 5-6 groupings of tracks, all with the same cover art. I doesn't seem to make any sense.
So - how do you combine songs into an album so that the artwork display doesn't separate them again?

Displaying a hyperlink in UWL Item

Hi Friends,
I am current configuring the Appraisals module and everything works fine, except a small bit.
The URL which gets displayed in the UWL is displayed as plain text and not as a link. What changes would I have to do in order to display that as a link which the user can click. (The email which gets sent out is also fine and the link is clickable there)

Times are displayed as hyperlinks

In every app on my phone, anything that looks like a time is displayed as a link to "Create Event", "Show in Calendar", etc. Is it possible to turn this "feature" off?

No.
It will also show as a link, anything that looks like a phone # (to call or store in Contacts) or an address (show in Maps or add to contacts) or email address (to email or add to contacts).
Auto detect of certain items (phone #, dates, emails, times and a few others) is a feature of iOS (and Mac OS).
This allows you to easily do something without having to retype/copy the info.
The app programmer (or website in Safari) can turn it off when they create the app.

How to Display a hyperlink at end of video?

I just posted this in the encoding forum but I am pretty sure
it is something I will need to do in Flash and not Flash CS3 Video
Encoder (correct me if I'm wrong!).
I have videos currently that I have encoded (from avi) to FLV
using Flash CS3 Video Encoder. It is such an easy program to use
especially once a template is made. I now need to have at the end
of the video a clickable button/hyperlink to take the viewer to a
"Buy DVD" page. How much work will be involved in doing something
like this? I am very efficient with some of Adobe's software
(premiere, AE) but have never used Flash (except the mentioned
stand-alone Video Encoder). Will this be a steep learning curve?
The FLV files are placed in my html pages using Dreamweaver
CS3's "Insert>Flash Video".

Flash? Searching only seems to return results for using Flash Video
Encoder, not Flash.
If I can learn how to compress within Flash then I am sure I
can go from there with making a new chapter to play at the

Inconsistent display of Muse site on mobile devices

I know that Muse doesn't fully support mobile devices at this point, but it should be possible to have at least some level of consistency on how the websites are displayed when opened in a mobile browser.
My website is supposed to fill the browser window, but when viewing the site on a mobile browser, the pages are aligned to the left, and the 100% width elements are cut off. However, on some pages, it looks fine, and on other pages it looks even worse.
Here are some screenshots that shows how differently the pages are displayed. I have also included a screenshot from a normal browser window. What can I do to make the site look "normal" on a mobile device? I have tried using some viewport meta tags, but I can't seem to get it right. Please help! It's embarrassing to have a company website that looks ridiculous when opened in a mobile browser.
This is the front page. As you can see, the horizontal header and footer has been cut off, and the page has been aligned left instead of filling the browser window.
This page is displayed even worse! The header and footer has been cut like above, but the whole page is scaled down to expose even more unnecessary gray space to the right.
This page is displayed correctly! However, other pages pages with the same bookshelf have the same issues as above.
This is how the website looks in a normal web browser. The header and footer follows the width of the browser.

The "correct" behavior for elements with both rollover and click behaviors on Mobile Safari is that the first tap provides the rollover behavior and a second tap provides the click behavior. For menu items with submenus this behavior is broken. The first tap both shows the submenu and follows the link on the top level menu item.
We don't have a fix for this yet, but it should be fixed for the next quarterly release of Muse (curently looking like late August).
