Inconsistent Integration Scenario Modeling behaviour

Hi folks,
In order to created an Integration Scenario, i defined Application Component Views in three swim lanes. Created 4 actions and established connections between them.
Scenario is working fine. But after some time, in display mode of scenario. If i choose to Display connections between selected actions, connection window does'nt populate. If i check same using change mode, window populates and connections are broken (means sender service and receiver service check boxes are unchecked). After making changes, neither i am able to apply those changes nor cancel. Then i have to kill my java session.
I could not able to figure out this inconsistent behavior of IS Model. Please help

○     Select the multi-mapping you defined previously from the Integration Repository.
To select the interface mapping, use the input help ().
The target interfaces of the interface mapping are displayed in the Inbound Interfaces frame.
The number of messages (for an inbound interface) created in the mapping step is displayed in the Occurrence column.

  • Process Modeling in ESR vs. ccBPM( Integration Scenario & Process )?

    Hi...
I'm very confusing this two type of solution in ESR.
When should we use the modeling like Integration Scenario Model, Process Component Model and Process Component Interaction Model?
    and
When should we use ccBPM like Integration Scenarios & Integration Processes?
What's the differences between Modeling & ccBPM in ESR?
    Thank you.

One needs to go for ccBPM when you have a business logic to implement in PI or you have to communicate with multiple systems sequentially or simultaneously from with in XI.
(In my words..)Integration scenario is nothing but a graphical depiction of the entire integration scenario. It is not a compulsion but good to have. By looking at it one can understand which systems are participating and what are the sequence of actions being executed among them and the type of communication they are using. Also I am not sure but, a properly designed Integration Scenario can imported in to Directory to create the ID configuration objects in  wizard like mode.

  • XI SRM Integration Scenarios for ShoppingCart model

We've loaded the XI content for SRM (XI7_0_SRM_SERVER_7.xxxx) from the sap marketplace and reviewed the data types, messages, and interfaces. It appears there are no pre-built integration scenarios associated with a Shopping Cart model (Purchase Orders, Advance shipment notice, etc). Does a set of pre-built integration scenarios exist, or are these generally built manually? We are going to be pushing purchase orders from ECC to SUS in most of our scenarios. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Brian,
You will have to use the standard XI scenario - " Plan driven procurement with supplier enablement" for document exchange between ECC & SUS.
This will help u push ur PO's from ECC to SUS.
    Thanks

  • Integration Scenarios vs Process Component Modelling

    Hi Experts,
    Just wanted to know:
    1) How theoritically and technically, is 7.0's Integration Scenarios different from 7.1's Process modelling?
    2) For what kind of cases we go for Integartion Scenarios and for what kind of cases we model a PCM?
    3) What is "Deployment Unit" in PCM?
    Thanks
    Shailesh

    Hi,
    >>>1) How theoritically and technically, is 7.0's Integration Scenarios different from 7.1's Process modelling?
Process Component modeling is ment for modeling SOA, where you create a Business Object, Service Interfaces, etc and this help to understand the business semantics of enterprise services in the business process platform. And you will not create Receiver Determination, Interfaces Determination out if that. Where as Integration Scenario is meant only for integration where you define Sender system, receiver system etc...
    >>>2) For what kind of cases we go for Integartion Scenarios and for what kind of cases we model a PCM?For normal integration between 2 or more systems you use Integration Scenario. But Process Component Model is for Service Provisioning.
    >>>3) What is "Deployment Unit" in PCM?
All the related/dependent Process Components are tied together in one unti and this is called Deployment unit. It also describes the logical boundary of the  Process Component. Apart from this deployment units are the only installable units and this shows what types of interactions are needed between process components.
    Thanks,

  • Confusion with PI 7.1 with integration scenario

    Hi, expert,
I read a lot of documents before I have physically logged on to PI 7.1, I thought I had a very good idea about the new version. However when I am physically in PI 7.1, I found I get a little confused.
I know ES is a big thing in 7.1, but I will be working on integration (integration scenario), I thought this part is not changed from 7.0 to 7.1. Basically in 7.0, you defined message type and message interface, message mapping and interface mapping, then you go to ID to configure the integration scenario. However in 7.1, you do not have message interface anymore, instead, we have service interface under which you define operations, which is fine from ES perspective. But if I am only interested in integration, what I need is like PI 7.0: outbound interface, mapping, inbound interface, NOT the operation. Now how can I define 7.0 message interface in PI 7.1? (I know operation mapping is 7.0 interface mapping).
    Can I make following understanding?
    1) Operation in 7.1 is like messag interface in 7.0
    2) Service Interface is a tool to group multiple related operations under one roof.
    3) To define integration scenario, I do NOT need the modeling. Modeling is only relevant to model ES, NOT for integration scenario.
So if I am only interested in integration scenario, what is changed from PI 7.0 to PI 7.1?
    Thanks for advice
    Jayson

    > Can I make following understanding?
    > 1) Operation in 7.1 is like messag interface in 7.0
Service Interface with one operation whose name is same as the service interface and Xi 3.0 compatible type is same as 7.0 Message Interface
    > 2) Service Interface is a tool to group multiple related operations under one roof.
    Yes.
    > 3) To define integration scenario, I do NOT need the modeling. Modeling is only relevant to model ES, NOT for integration scenario.
    Yes.
    >
    > So if I am only interested in integration scenario, what is changed from PI 7.0 to PI 7.1?
I did not work much on this area but, as long as you are replacing the interface mapping with operation mapping things must be pretty much same here. For your information, Integration scenario is not a compulsion unless u want to represent the scneario graphically and create the ID objects automatically.
You can create the ID objects manually whitout creating an integration scenario on ESR.

  • Not able to add a  business component in Integration Scenario

    Hi Experts,
I have Imported an Integration Scenario from ESR into ID. I am trying to assign a business component but its showing only the business systems in search result and not any business component. What would be the reason?

    Hi,
I have created integration scenario in ESR using two actions for IB and OB interface. Then I have imoprted IS into ID.
Now in model configurator in ID,  while assigning the business component to Inbound interface action, its not showing me the business compnent created in search result.

  • Configuration Scenario for BPM Using Integration Scenario

    hi All,
I Have an Scenario where i am using BPM. Most of the blog tells about manually creating all Configuration objects. I had created an Integration Scenario for this scenario by referring to the earlier threads available for same.
Hoe to Create Integration Scenario for BPM Scenario
Integration Scenario in BPM  and few more.
    My IS looks like
Sender App Component - Integration Process - Receiver App Component
Now when i am trying to create Configuration scenario for same using model configurator, i am getting Model as "Not Configurable"
And when i click "Configurability Check" Button, i am getting below as status:
Component view IS_POC_BPM: Connection from receivePayload to getABSPayload does not have an inbound service interface
Component view IS_POC_BPM : Connection from sendABSPayload to getPayload has no outbound interface
getABSPayload and sendABSPayload are actions for Abstract interfaces.
IS_POC_BPM is the Integration Process Name.
Also in Integration Scenario, when i create connection between sender action to BPM action there is no inbound interface coming. And viceversa.
Please help me in identifying if i am doing any thing wrong in creating this scenario.
Is it possible to create Configuration Scenario for BPM Using Integration Scenario?
    Thanks,
    Mayank

I think you shoudl refer the available Integration Scenarios created for BPMs in IR --> SAP BASIS --> http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/Patterns
Sender template will have the Action with Outbound Service Interface and then in the BPM Template the action will have Inbound Interface.....then within the BPM itself this inbound will be mapped to Action with Abstract Interface
may be after looking the Integration scenarios you will get more idea

  • Integration Processes within Integration Scenario

The process I need to model is as follows:
SRM XML PO => OAG XML PO => Embeded OAG XML PO in another message.
I have looked at trying to use an integration process to handle the first conversion and then a regular interface mapping for the 2nd. However despite creating the Integration process in the same software component as the Integration Scenario I get nothing in the drop down list when searching for the Integration process in the Application Component definition. Even if I try to create a new integration process from within the Application component I get an error saying that the SCV of the integration process and the SCV of the Application component are not the same
Does any one have any suggestions

    Hi Rajasekar,
           Hope u do fine.
Ur not mentioned any of ur requirement.
In BPM scenarios only we can create the INTEGRATION PROCESS.
In REPOISTERY--> we can design the INTEGRATION PROCESS.

  • To SAP-XI Product Developement... Bug in Integration Scenario, swimlanes..?

    Hi,
I am not sure whether such questions can be posted in this forum or not.. but i have no other alternative. If this is not the right forum i will not post such queries again.
I have posted a query reg <b>"Integration Scenario, swimlane diagrams"</b> in XI Forum, but there were no replies to that. So i like to forward the same to the Product Develpment team and <b>like to know if this is a bug or things do work like this..?</b>
I have designed my Integration Scenario in Design Time, imported the same into configuraton time so that the Configuration Objects (Receiver Determination, Interface Determinaiton, Receiver agreements) are automatically created. I tried the sacenario and its working fine.
    In my scenario, i have 3 swimlanes corresponding systems, Sys1, sys2, sys3.
In Run1, a connection is made b/n sys1's and sys2's actions. Imported into Configuration, Configuration objects created,(<b>Rx Determination Created</b>) scenario working properly.
In Run2, another connection is made b/n sys1 and sys3's actions (sys1 and sys2 still remain connected). Imported into Configuration, <b>receiver determinaition changed</b> according to the scenario, scenario working properly.
In Run3, the connection b/n sys1 and sys2 is removed and again imported into configuration, but the receiver determination is not changed to cater to the scenario in design time. The old receiver determinaiton is not getting deleted/chaged). The <b>receiver deteminaiton reused</b> instead of being changed, which is incorrect according to the scenario.
Is this a bug in the software or do things work like this only...  U can reach me at <b>Siva_Maranani(at)satyam(dot)com</b>
    Cheers,
    Siva Maranani.

    Hello Aamir,
you are right, I don't need virtual receivers for my scenaro and I also don't want to use them.
However, when modelling my scenario with an integration scenario in the design, I'm forced to do this and I would like to know whether there is any way to avoid this.
In order to be able to use a business service on the sender side, it seems I have to select the checkbox 'External party with B2B communication' in my integration scenario. When importing & configuring the scenario in the directory, I am then able to select by business service for the sender side. However, for the receiver side I have to specify a virtual receiver, otherwise I cannot finish the config wizard.
    Any more ideas?

  • Mix B2B and A2A in integration scenario

    Hello XI experts,
I'm trying to build an integration scenario in the repository that I want to import later on into the directory for automatic configuration.
The scenario is HTTP -> XI -> RFC. On the sender side I would like to use a business service, so I selected 'External party with B2B communication' for the sending application component. On the receiver side I would like to use a SAP business system, so I didn't select that option there.
Now, if I import into the directory, this doesn't work as expected. I can select my business service for the sender side, this works. However, for the receiver side I always have to specify a virtual receiver service and my receiver determination and interface determination are created with a virtual receiver service in it.
Is there any way to avoid the virtual receiver? Any help is appreciated!
    Best regards,
    Matthias

  • Doubt in Integration Scenario

    Hi All,
I wuld like to know whether  I can  create a Integration Scenario after completing the Configuration steps (eventhough it doesnt make much sense)

    Hi Aarthi,
Its not mandatory to create the integration scenario.
The integration Scenario in IR will be useful for re-presenting the whole flow of the interface.
If you do the itegration scenrio in Design time then you do not need to follow the stpes which is required in configuration like creating Aggrement, determination and all. you just need to import the scenario from integration repository that will avoid configure part.
Usually during the audit time the auditor checks whether IS is designed or not? as that is the good practive to design ur scenario with IS.
    Companion Guide to Integration scenario
    /people/venkat.donela/blog/2006/02/17/companion-guide-to-integration-scenario
It will be good loaction to get all the information about whole interface.
You could either create or transport the same Integration scenario in ID.
With the use of Integration scenario you could model the whole interface with all minute details
It comes under best practices. So if you create the IS it will be very easy for you to understand the and designe the business flow. Morevere becomes very easy while creating/configuring the Integration Directory, you just need to import the design objects form IR.
If you will not create IS, there is no harm. So it all depends upon client and also you.
    Thanks,
    Vijaya.

  • SCENARIO CREATION IN INTEGRATION SCENARIO

    hi
I have one sender and two receivers. I am creating integration scenario in repository. in integration scenario creation i have to create three swim lanes or
two swim lanes? can i add both receivers in one swim lane? and how will i made
connection between sender and both receivers?
can any one please help me?
    thanks&regards
    venkat

    Hi Venky,
I guess you will be sending the same data to both receivers.
So you do not have to use 3 swim lanes. Create only 2 swim lane.
    1. One for Sender
    2. Second one for Receiver (no need to think here for 2 receivers, think it when you do receiver determination)
Now, Making a connection will be very easy, just select the ACTION of Sender and Receiver and right click and say create connections.

  • Integration Scenario

    Hi All,
I am new to XI. I need to know about Integration Scenario. What is it? Why we are using Integration Scenario? How it differs from Integration Process? and how to use Integration Scenario? Give a simple example (like file to file using Integration Scenario).
    Thanks and Regards,
    Nithya

    Hi,
    >>>Integration Scenario,Why we are using Integration Scenario, how to use Integration Scenario
Integration scenario is used to logically relate all XI objects for a particular scenario. It also eases the creation of configuration objects.
You use an integration scenario to define the message exchange and message flow for collaborative processes. Normally, these are processes between different business partners that are generally coupled by the exchange of messages.
The integration scenario provides you with a central point of access for all objects that you require for semantic and technical integration, for example interfaces, mappings, and software components.
You can integrate an executable integration process into an integration scenario.
Follow the blogs for more details:

  • What is integration scenario & integration process in IR?

    hi friends

2).  why we need to use this IS & IP(integration scenario and integration processes?
3).  what is advantage of using IS & IP(integration scenario and integration processes?
if you have any related links and documents please refer to me..................

    chinthapatla.bharat

    Hi Bharat,
    Integration Scenario
An integration scenario completely models the exchange of
messages for a collaborative process and provides an overview of the process flow.
It is overview of your whole integration scenario. In Integration Scenario each Swimlane represents a different business system. Mean you will have number of swimlanes as number of business system involved in your integration. Swimlane contains action. Actions are used for mentioning Inbound and outbound interfaces for the corresponding swimlane(business system).
Why we are using Integration Scenario?
We use integration scenario to genearate Integration Directory objects like Receiver Determination, Interface determination, Sender agreeement etc.
All XI content objects must be assigned to one or more integration scenarios (IS). Delivering XI-Content in the framework of an IS has the following advantages:
    1. The IS provides you with a central point of access for all integration objects. This is necessary for semantic and technical integration and facilitates business-driven development.
    2. The IS helps customers to understand the underlying business scenario of XI content objects.
    3. The IS serves as a kick-start for the configuration of the content at the customer site. The aim is to minimize the configuration effort for the customer.
