InCopy track changes in tables

Does anyone know if any plugins allow you to track changes in tables, I have ctrl changes but can't get it to track changes I make to a table.
I would like to be able to track when I add or delete a row or a whole table.
Any help appreciated.

I downloaded the new pages for iPad and edited a word document.  I switched track changes on but it did not track any changes I made in the tables only for the text outside of tables.  How can I resolve this?

  • How to track changes in table

    hi,
I have a table on server with some columns.
After few days i added some more columns to it. Now i don't know which columns were added by me.
We use common log in so it is also not possible to track by name.
Please tell me how could i get the column recently added to that table.
    Thanks,

    Hello,
Afterwards you can get it may from the default trace: In SSMS do a right mouse click on the database => Reports => Standard Reports => Schema Changes History.
An it's not good practice to "just add columsn on the fly", without knowing what you do. Use always scripts for versioning.

  • No change tracking inside of tables?

    Morning.
I've written a document in Pages with a table containing cells with text in it. I've sent it to my co-worker. He has made a lot of changes in red-line mode and sent the file back to me. I've opened the document in Pages again. But in change track mode no changes are visible. So I've opened the file in Word 2004 and all changes are visible in change track mode.
Is there a bug in the change tracking?
    TIA and kind regards, Friedrich

If it's not designed to track changes in tables then it's not a bug. It's a feature. Or a shortcoming.
The simple fact is that Pages doesn't track changes IN tables. It will track a deleted table, a moved table or a replaced table +in toto+ but not changes IN the table.

  • Track Changes -- Author Color

I have made one set of changes in a doc in blue.  I now want to add a second set of changes without eliminating or changing the first set.  Can I add the 2nd set of changes in a new color ...e.g. green, while still keeping the first set of changes in blue?

Look page #71 in Pages User Guide.

  • Track Changes colors not working when story contains table

Can anyone duplicate this problem/bug, or let me know if it is just my machine?
    Steps to reproduce
Make sure your Edit > Preferences > Story Editor has non-black text colors defined for Added Text, Deleted Text, and Moved Text.
Create document, and draw a text box
Inside the text box, Right-click > Fill with Placeholder Text
With the cursor in the text box, turn on Track Changes and Show Changes from the Track Changes pallette:
Open the Story Editor with Ctrl/Cmd-Y
Cut/paste, delete, and insert some text.
Confirm colors appear in Story Editor as defined in step 1:
Now insert a table anywhere in the story. For me, all non-black text coloring (bg stays fine) disappears:
Is this an InDesign bug, or something I'm experiencing on my own machine? I've been able to duplicate the issue in InDesign CS6, InDesign CC and InCopy CC on my Win7 Pro 64-bit machine.

I'd recommend filing a bug report here to make sure it gets reported:

  • How to track changes to longtexts (in tables STXH, STXL) ?

    Hello everybody,
I need to track changes made to the long texts in sales orders.
Reading change documents tables (CDHDR, CDPOS) does not work for the long texts tables STXH, STXL as no relevant data is written.
Only the latest entry is stored in STXH and STXL.
Where to look for changes made to the text tables ?
    Many thanks and kind regards,
    Chris.

    Hello Carsten,
Thanks for the tip, it was very helpful !

  • How to track changes in InCopy?

I'm very new to InCopy, in fact I'm still running on the trial version.
We at the office want to know if it's possible to track the changes that are made... for example:
Say if one writer was given the task to proofread a story. Is it possible for the Editor to have final say, before the changes have been made official? Is it possible to give the Editor with InCopy an administrive right, to overight all edits?
    Thanks,
    wade

    Yes, on all counts.
Check out the changes menu. There's also a track changes tool bar.
Once the changes have been made and the story checked in, the editor can check it out and accept or reject changes.

    Hello,
SAP has provided many changes tracking related programs for Sales order, Vendor changes etc.
They all use the standard function Module
      call function 'CHANGEDOCUMENT_READ_HEADERS'
    call function 'CHANGEDOCUMENT_READ_POSITIONS'
so with these you can get the changed records
Let me know if this helps you

  • Track changes on 'Z' tables

    Hi,
We have a requirement that to track changes on our Z tables. Could any one help me in process of doing this ?
    Thank you,
    Surya

    HI,
U Read follow this for clarifies u r doubt..........
As with business objects, we recommend that you activate the logging of changes to table data for those tables that are critical or susceptible to audits. (See the SAP – Audit Guidelines R/3 FI, in Section 4.3.5, for examples of important tables. This document is available at
http://www.sap.com/germany/aboutSAP/revis/infomaterial.asp. You must also explicitly activate this logging. Note the following:
    ·        You must start the SAP System with the rec/client profile parameter set. This parameter specifies whether the SAP System logs changes to table data in all clients or only in specific clients. We recommend setting this parameter to log all clients in your productive system.
    ·        In the technical settings (use transaction SE13), set the Log data changes flag for those tables that you want to have logged.
If both of these conditions are met, the database logs table changes in the table DBTABPRT. (Setting the Log data changes  flag only does not suffice in recording table changes; you must also set the rec/clientparameter.)
You can view these logs using the transaction SCU3.
Although we do deliver pre-defined settings, you generally have to modify them to meet your own requirements. Use the report RSTBHIST to obtain a list of those tables that are currently set to be logged. Use transaction SE13 to change the Log data changes flag for these or other tables.
For more information, also see SAP Notes 1916 and 112388.

    sudheer.

  • How do i clear all previous track changes in Incopy/Indesign

    Hi,
I have an old document which i now need to work on again. We worked on the same document last year and we are going to use the old text and just rewrite it.
We are many people involved and the things is that all our previous changes from last year are still visible. I would like to clear all the changes from last year to get the text "clean".
We want to have new track changes to see all the new changes that are being made.
    How do I do that?
I am working in Indesign and the team I am working with are using Incopy. I do the design and they handle the text.

Click here and follow the instructions, or if there’s a type of adware not covered by them on the computer, these ones.

  • InCopy CC crashes when using track changes

    Hi
We have had a lot of problems with InCopy chrasing.
We are using the package system.
It seems to happen when clients are using Track changes, they open the file and if i opens in Story mode it just spins and won't works. If ou open it in Layout mode it seems fine but as soon as you go to Story mode it spins again.
If the track changes are accepted the package will work fine again.
Does Adobe have any updates for this it's becoming very frustating and clients don't want to use InCopy.
    Thanks
    Louise

I don't think there is anything specific in the upgrade that addresses tracked changes, sorry.
If you need to keep a version of the INDD file with all the tracked changes (before you accept them, to reduce problems), then I'd suggest you make a whole new version of the project. Archive the old one with all the tracked changes intact, and wipe out the tracking markup by accepting all changes in the new doc.
    1. The ID user makes sure all stories are checked in and up to date (easiest via the Assignments panel)
    2. They unlink all the InCopy stories ... select them in the Assignments panel and click the Unlink icon at the bottom (trash can)
    3. Do a Save As to the InDesign file into a new folder with a new name ("v2" appended, for example, or "_changes-accepted").
    4. In the new file, re-export all the stories to InCopy format, saving them to a new subfolder.
    5. Check out all the stories at once via the Assignments panel
    6. Go to the Type menu and choose Track Changes > Accept All Changes > In This Document
    7. Archive the old INDD file with its linked InCopy files (that have the changes)
    8. Tell users to continue working on the new INDD file.
Alternatively, InCopy users can export each story showing the tracked change markup to PDF, archiving that for auditors, before accepting all changes.

  • Change tracking on qualified table

    Hi
We are using MDM 5.5 SP05. I want to track changes made to a field on a qualified table. I have enabled the track changes option on the console for a field with qualifier flag set to yes .Any changes I make to that field are not being recorded in the A2I_CM_History table. I m able to see records for the changes made to the main table record.
Is there some additional step required to track changes on the qualified table fields.
    Regards,
    Prashanta

If you working on MDM 5.5 SP03 and the field which you track for change is <b>Non-multilingual text fields</b> then you will have this problem. check this note

  • InCopy/InDesign Track Changes

I just watched the Lynda.com video on tracking changes in InCopy. My question is do the changes need to be accepted to stick?  I just want to make sure all the changes stay in. We do not have a one person editor who would accept and reject changes. We just want to see what they were, and who did them.
    Thank you in advance,
    Holly

Yes, they "stick" even if you don't accept them. Accepting them  takes them out of  tracking (you can't see who did what when), so if you want to be able to see all the changes ever made, don't accept any changes (but don't reject any either, which does just what it says--you will lose those edits).
