Incorrect album art

i have the 1st gen nano. on itunes i have the correct album art for each song but when i use my ipod the album art is not always the same for the correct song w/ the correct album art

If your iPod is set to update automatically then try this:
iTunes 6
1. Connect your iPod
2. Disable "Show Album art" in iTunes>Edit>Preferences>iPod.
3. Syncronise the iPod with iTunes. (Disconnecting and then reconnecting your iPod will do the trick)
4. Re-enable "Show Album Art" in iTunes>Edit>Preferences>iPod.
5. Syncronise the iPod again.
iTunes 7
1. Connect your iPod
2. Disable "Display album artwork" in iPod>Music tab and click Apply.
3. Syncronise the iPod with iTunes.
4. Re-enable "Display album artwork" in iPod>Music tab and click Apply.
5. Syncronise the iPod again.

  • IPod Nano (1st gen) Displays Incorrect album art.

I woke up this morning and went for a bike ride with my nano when I realized it was showing incorrect album art for some of the songs. I have not noticed any pattern. I also have a 60gb photo that IS showing the correct album art so I'm pretty sure its just the nano (I updated them both today to check, and still same situation). I have tried restarting the iPod already. Anyone know what I should do?

  • Vid iPod displays incorrect album art

My video iPod has started to display incorrect album art when playing back songs. The songs and their corresponding album art play back fine in iTunes on my computer. But when playing back on the iPod, it displays the wrong album covers. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Same problem. I am still lokking for a fix for my 5G pod.

  • Wrong Number of Songs On My iPod Shown/Incorrect Album Art

I have two things that are wrong with my iPod Touch 4G that are bugging me and I don't know what to do about them. One thing is that the number of songs I have on my iPod is incorrect. When I go into the Settings menu > General > About it currently states that I have 55 songs when I don't, I have way less than that. Does anybody why this is happening or what can be done about it? Second of all, for some of the songs I have on my iPod, the album art is incorrect. It shows a video clip from a video I have on my iPod instead of the album art it should have. I don't know why it's like that now, it wasn't like that before, it used to have the correct abum art. Can anything be done about this?

I'm having the exact same issue on my iPod Classic. Haven't used this forum before - do experts provide feedback, or do we just hope that another user can suggest a cure? I haven't reformatted my iPod yet - huge pain, as I also manually manage my music - but will do that if no other solutions present themselves.

  • Incorrect Album Art in iPod (G5, 80g)

Some of the album art is incorrect on my iPod. It's OK in iTunes.
The last time this happened, I had to restore.
    Is there another way?

Thanks for the reply. At least I know that other iPod owners have the same problem. For the time being, I've tuned off album art on my iPod.

  • Incorrect album art on iPhone even when I try to manually correct the album art in iTunes.

I recently replaced my iPhone 3GS with a new iPhone 4S. The album art is fine when viewed via my iMac in iTunes, but when I sync an album to my phone, it gives it a random album cover from my library instead of the correct one. I go to iTunes and manually re-upload the album art but when I sync again it's still incorrect. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I think I have the same problem with an iPhone 3GS running 6.0.1 and iTunes 10.7.  I didn't have this problem with 6.0.0.  My album artwork is fine in iTunes but when I transfer it to my iPhone, I get either the wrong album art or no album art.  I've tried deleting the music from the phone and re-adding it.  I rebuilt the album art cache.  I reformatted all my music as an audiobook and then back to music (don't laugh - this worked for someone!).   I loaded Media Monkey to see if there was something wrong with my mp3 files.  My mp3 files are fine and if I load my iPhone with Media Monkey, the artwork is fine.    I think the problem is that the vast majority of my music is 300 bps or better mp3 files.  Even if the artwork is imbedded in the mp3 file,  iTunes is doing something wacky with the album art and I can't figure out how to fix it.   If it weren't for all my iTunes playlists, I would just use Media Monkey to manage my music on my iPhone.

  • IOS 7 music app does not display artist pictures and has incorrect album art after master reset.

Strange issue here. I did the update from iOS 6 to iOS 7, after I did the update, I noticed my synced music has just a random photo of the artist / group, that seems to be downloaded from the iTunes sites, because these pictures of the artist/group is not my album artwork.
I did a master reset on my device because I wanted to start from a clean slate, and set it up as a new phone. I went through and adjusted all of my settings and synced my music back on via iTunes, now its not showing these pictures any longer, infact, the strangest issue of them all.. is now when I view artists, the album that I synced now has a complete different album artwork picture that is not related to that album.
I am at a loss, my iTunes is extremely organized, I have everything configured to be 100% accurate for track names, artist, album, and album artwork.
Anyone have any input here? It only screwed up after the reset I did. This has to be a bug or something.

SiMooew469: Thank you!  After countless wasted hours messing with this, your solution was the only one that worked!  After setting up a few phones "as new" I noticed all the artist images would appear (for those that have one) even with my Match turned on.  I could not duplicate it on my restored-from-backup iPhone5S, as I would get a mix of the images and album art, even for those artists that have profile photos on the as-new setups.  I couldn't afford to lose all my text messages, etc. that come with restoring a phone as-new, so I tried about everything else under the sun: I tried logging in-and-out of my Apple ID, toggling Match on-and-off, I even deleted iTunes_control folder using iExplorer on a Windows machine.  Nothing worked.
    Here's what finally did:
If you don't have it set this way already, toggle "Group By Album Artist" in Settings->Music. For some reason that makes a difference for some artists in your library that appear when album artist is set to "Various Artists" or something other than the track's artist.  Logout of your Apple ID.  Log in with any other Apple ID.  Open the Music app and watch all the artist images load in the Artisits tab.  Once it is done, logout of the other Apple ID and login with your regular Apple ID.  Finally, all the artist images will remain.  Those artists that do not have a profile photo with iTunes will still show album art, which is by design.  Hopefully Apple will keep updating that database.
Incidentally, it's a bit odd that those profile photos don't appear in the Artists view in iTunes 11...or am I the only one?

  • Tracks often displaying incorrect album art in playlist and podcast modes

Strange one this, and not at all consistent.
I'm often noticing that the album art for another unrelated album is being displayed when I am playing music from a playlist or playing a podcast.
Any ideas how to stop my iPod Touch doing this, and to display the correct artwork?

I too have the exact same problem, and pretty often too. It's really a pain when I've taken the time to find almost all of the correct artwork for all 18,000+ songs (92+ GB) in my iTunes library, and yet it won't be displayed correctly on my iPhone. I've tried countless reset's, restore's, starting fresh with a new library, etc. Nothing I can think of works. Does anyone have a successful solution? I sometimes get an error when trying to update my iPhone 3GS with the number (-6999) at the end of it. I'm wondering if there's any correlation there...

  • IPod displays incorrect album art for some songs

Hi, I hope someone can help. I've tried a bunch of things and I'm still having problems with some of my album art. They display fine in iTunes and other music players, but sometimes not on my iPod. Sometimes it'll display a different album cover than it should, and it kinda annoys me. The only thing I can do is to open the iPod in iTunes, delete the song off the iPod and drag it back on. I think I've had this problem with songs I've brought back in though. Also, once the wrong art is displayed, it remeains that way unless I delete the song and replace (like I just said). I thought maybe the iPod was stressed by starting up, so I tried running through all songs figuring it would endure less stress, therefore displaying the right album art, and thus it would remember the artwork than me, but artwork still messed up
I tried the diplay album art setting in iTunes
    running through songs on iPod
I started in automatic update and now I'm in manual update, but this problem occurred in both
    Please Help me, someone!!!

  • Sometimes when I move music from my iTunes library to my iPod I get incorrect album art. Any known causes/fixes?

Sometimes when I move music (typically an album) from iTunes to my iPod I get incorrect album artwork on the iPod. Is this a known issue with the iPod classic and are there any fixes other than a complete restore and sync of the iPod?

You can manually manage or you can sync by playlist/artist/album/genre/checked songs.
Maybe you should read the manual:

  • Album art Incorrect

All my songs in the iTunes Library contain the correct album art, when I sync my 5th generation ipod classic I get the incorrect album arts. Example for a Tom Petty song I get a Stone Temple Pilots album art an so on. Anybody experiecing this issue?
    Thanks,
    Richin

Several users have reported this over the years and it's usually the result of a corrupt artwork cache db on the iPod's hard disk. There are a few things you can do to try and correct this issue.
The first is to just try a hard reset of the iPod. To do this, press and hold both the Select and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.  A hard reset has no affect on the content that is stored on your iPod.
If no luck with that, try to un-sync and resync all of your content from your iPod via iTunes.  To do this, simply remove the tick mark next to Sync Music at the top of your iPod's Music configuration tab in iTunes and apply the changes.  Then reapply the option to resync all of your content back over to your iPod.
Try a restore of the iPod in iTunes. This process will wipe all data from the iPod and set it back to its original default settings.  Here are instructions for restoring your iPod.
    Restoring iPod to factory settings
Lastly, try replacing the artwork for the problem tracks with artwork that is of smaller size/resolution as larger size artwork has been known to cause corruption and other issues with playback.

  • Album art on iPod Touch

Help! I've downloaded Album art for every song on my iPod Touch - although the album art matches each song correctly in my iTunes library on my desktop, about 1/3 of the songs have the incorrect album art on my iPod. For example, a song by Chicago that has Chicago album art on my iTunes library, displays album art for Flo Rida when that Chicago song is playing on my iPod. Some songs have the correct album art, but others do not. I've tried to delete the album art, re-download it and then reload the song to my iPod, but it doesn't always work. Any suggestions?

Fixed my problem with the artwork. I just went to amazon.com and searched for the albums where the artwork was getting mixed up on my iPod Touch. I would right click on the album artwork on amazon.com and select copy. Then I would select all the songs from that album in my iTunes and right click to get info for all the album tracks. Then just paste the album artwork. It took two syncs (for some reason), but at least now all my album artwork is right in both my iTunes library and iPod Touch. Easy to do, but time consuming. One downside, some images on amazon.com aren't the highest quality. In those cases I would do a google search of the album name and click the images tab to find the best quality images. Then use the same copy and paste technique.

  • Creative Zen 2 Gig displays incorrect album a

My creative Zen 2 G with the current firmware stores incorrect album art for artists that have the same album name such as "Best Of" or "Greatest Hits", The only way around it is to rename all of my greatest hits to something unique such as Rolling Stones Greatest Hits, I have thoousands of these songs tagged that way.
    Any Ideas?

It is listed at the top of the forum to read the FAQ before posting. I don't work for Creative though, so am not responsible for the other content.
I don't know why your files aren't working. The theory is that as long as the files are tagged with this, and you are queuing them via the album part of the music library, they will queue in order. If they aren't queuing then there's either some specific bug with the player, or there's something wrong with your files. You might want to try another tagging program to double check that it isn't some issue with the way MP3Tag writes its files, and also make sure to remove the v tag just in case this is causing an issue.

    Hello,
Please try to copy the following file from another SQL Server instance to this one.
    %Program Files (x86)%\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Tools\Binn\Resources\1033\sqlcm.xml
