Incorrect app receipt...

I just received an iTunes receipt listing twenty free apps. Only three of these were actually mine. I have no idea who downloaded the other seventeen, but it wasn't me.
Do I need to worry that someone else has been downloading with my username & password? These mystery apps were free, but others might very well not be.
How can I report this directly to Apple?
Any thoughts?

Has Snow Leopard changed the way Apple Installers and Software Update handles receipts? Used to be if you installed an app like iLife (or any other app), there'd be one or more .pkg files in /Library/Receipts.
I've got a fresh install of Snow Leopard that does not show any .pkg receipts from any Apple-installed software, including iLife, iWork or Logic Studio. And I just updated the OS to 10.6.1 via Software Update along with iTunes 9, and still not a single .pkg file in Receipts. There's over 20 of them in there from Microsoft Office, though...
Has Apple changed the receipts procedure under Snow Leopard, or do I have a problem here?
Can anyone with a fresh, clean install (not an update or a migrate) of Snow Leopard take a look in their /Library/Receipts folder and tell me if there's anything in there from an Apple install? Any Apple install...?
Clean Snow Leopard installs only, please; update installs might have old receipts left over from 10.5 installs and old Software Updates.

Get this: the new Software Update has done away with the menu option that allowed "Download Only". I guess they're trying to limit the distribution of their installers.

IPhone displaying incorrect app icons

I have an original 8GB iPhone running OS 3.0. Since I upgraded, every time I install a new app, it displays an incorrect icon. It seems that it displays the icon for the most recently deleted app. For example, I installed the Pizza Hut app, and the iPhone is displaying an icon for the msnbc app which I deleted a couple of days ago. This happened when I first installed the msnbc app, it showed an icon for a different application. I have re-booted, and re-synced, and still have the same results. Any ideas?

I had the same problem, deleted apps re-downloaded still did it, restarted the phone still did it even doing a restore still did it. the only thing that worked for me was to power the phone off not restart just off, now every app has the right icon.

App Receipts to iCloud address

Here is the long story, I would like to switch my primary email address from gmail.com to icloud.com. All my devices are Apple and gmail doesnt play nice with Mail, Calendar, etc. Now, since I cannot switch the primary address of my Apple ID from the gmail.com to the icloud.com one, I am wondering how to go on. I already have a load of stuff bought using this particular Apple ID and I know for a fact that I am not allowed to either open a new Apple ID using the icloud.com address or move purchases to a possible new Apple ID. I guess, much to my disappointment, I have to live with gmail.com being my Apple ID.
The above raise couple of questions:
1. Can I get my purchase receipts to the icloud.com address instead of gmail.com?
2. I noticed that I can use icould.com email address to sing in to my gmail.com email address, is there a practical difference after doing so that I am not aware of?
3. Is it possible to create an icloud.com address without having an Apple ID?
4. Can I have more that one Apple ID using an iCloud address?
5. Can I have more that one icloud.com address under on Apple ID?
Excuse my confusion but this iCloud thing is filling me with questions.
So many things to figure out just to get my Mail and Calendar to play nice.

An Apple ID can be used for iTunes store account and for icloud accounts. You can use the same ID for both or a different one for each account.
App purchases are tied to the ID/iTunes account used to purchase them, they cannot be changed over to another account. In your case, use the old ID for itunes (otherwise you'll lose the connection to all your app purchases), and if you want, use the new one (icloud.com) for icloud.

Incorrect app name in Activity Monitor

Has anyone else ever noticed an application's name misspelled or incorrect in the Activity Monitor list? E.g.: Illustrator is spelled without the 'r' as 'Illustrato'. Other apps are spelled correctly, including longer names. I have never seen this on other machines with Illustrator or any other app's name.

You may have to inspect the computer's desktop and other file/folders once you
change settings to allow +invisible items+ to appear, where you may see them all.
The system uses invisible files, and sometimes a user accessible file may go
invisible. While I have not done it, some of my utilities (OnyX) can make them
appear; this usually requires an admin password to alter system settings.
If a file name accidentally gets a . (period) in front of it, the file may change and
this may make it invisible, too. And if you change the name of an item whose
icon is on the Dock, the link back there probably won't work anymore.
And if you see a null item in Activity Monitor, you may turn it off or delete it.

Incorrect app badge number

The Reeder app shows an incorrect badge number of 1 (indicating the number of unread items in the RSS feeds of my Google Reader account). The correct number should be 0.
My latest attempt to fix this consisted of uninstalling the app, synching my phone with iTunes, then reinstalling the app. The reinstalled app still shows a badge number of 1, despite the fact that it doesn't have my Google Reader credentials (since all settings were lost during the reinstall).
The fact that I still see the badge number on a newly installed app is what makes me think this may be a problem with the sync service, rather than with Reeder. Any idea how to fix this?

The problem seems to have been fixed after configuring the app after a second reinstall.

Incorrect app icons

From time to time my icons display the wrong app!
Done it a few times now.

It won't be more than a month. The thing is, when a huge update like 3.0 is released or a product is released, there are going to be bugs in it. The reason you ask? Think about the scale, there are probably under 100,000 people that tested the 3.0 software, and far less than that that tested the iPhone 3GS. How many bugs are they going to see versus when the 3.0 software is released and when the iPhone 3GS is released? They might have tested it a ton and never experienced some of the bugs we are experiencing, the fact is, there are millions using the 3.0 software and about a million using the iPhone 3GS, which is a huge difference from the number they had beta testing. If you think about it too, how many people are experiencing these problems? A small fraction of the people, so it's not like it is a failure on Apple's part. They were quick in releasing updates to 1.0 and 2.0 when it first came out, and they are already handling this 3.1 update very quickly.

Incorrect App Store acknowledgement of previous purchases and install after Mountain Lion

Why do my purchases in the app store still say "Download" for OSX Mountain Lion and Lion and "Install" for FaceTime after successful Mountain Lion install. Lion and Facetime have also been previously installed.

          1. Go to MB51 and find the material document
          number with the wrong entry.
          2. Type in MIGO_GR and click enter.
2          1. Click on Cancellation for the first Box and Material Document for the second box.
          2.Type in the Material Document number and
          hit enter.
3          1. Click on Item OK
4          Click on the check button to see if the Document is OK
5          1. Click on the Save button and
          2 make sure the message comes up in the bottom as Material Document is posted
                                             Now i got another prob:
We have run into a problem. The batches of material that we need to reverse has been consumed already in SAP. How do we handle this?

Office 2013 - Incorrect Icons In Taskbar When Apps Running

Hi,
I have a a strange issue relating to Office 2013 (all apps in suite) in our school based Windows 7 domain environment.
When students login and run any app from the office suite they launch correctly and are able to be used. However the icon that is displayed in the task bar for say, Word, is not that of Word but is the icon for Database Compare 2013. Powerpoint
as another example always displays the Publisher icon. If you right click the icon the options available also refer to the incorrect app, so instead of an option to bring the Powerpoint app to the forefront it says Publisher.
The incorrect icon is always the same one for each app whenever launched and is the same for all users.
We have updated Windows and the Office to the latest patches. Possibly worth noting that we are running this config on Apple iMacs using bootcamped Windows 7 but I don't personally believe this has any bearing as it's only Office related.I have search
for instances of this issue and see there is a hotfix for incorrect icons when in a remote session rather than physically logged onto a machine. I also see references to deleting the icon cache for the user but local user profiles are scrapped on the
machines here when the student logs off.
Any help or pointers are greatly appreciated.

Since the icon shows fine in local but only incorrect through RDP session, I am thinking this might not be the promblem of Office application self. RDP session might not load the correct icon for Office duo to the file permission or wrong path.

Receipt for Apps I have not bought!

I have been given a receipt for some trashy apps that I have no bought. I contacted Apple Support more than 30 hours ago and have had no response at all. I changed my password and security question AND GUESS WHAT? That's right, another receipt for some more trashy apps from the same developers.

I'm going to sound a bit like a mediocre school-kid but I do not have a credit card attached to my account, the money was taken after I loaded my account with a gift card given to me Christmas 2010. I haven't myself purchased any items from the store since I loaded the account.
I know what you mean by the receipts taking some time to arrive so yes, they may have taken it before I changed my password.
And no, my iPhone has never left my possession at all this week, and I don't login at school. I'm an only child so it wasn't some kind of "sibling prank". I highly doubt someone actually wanted these apps, more likely that the developers are all the same and they wanted some cash & to write good reviews for their own apps.
Another note, on three of the apps from the first list there are short 5 star reviews for each app by the same person 9same account name) perhaps another victim?

Problem re activation of FaceTime. Input apple Id and am told password is incorrect but I am ok with same id for app store or itunes.

I cannote activate FaceTime or Message on my new ipad mini. When I type in my apple id to activate either i get a message stating that the user name or password is incorrect. I am only aware of having 1 apple id and everthing works fine using this id for the app stoe, itunes or icloud.Can anyone help me please? John

i have the same problem. i've just recieved my ipad (4th generation) and succesfully transferred everything from my ipad3 throug icloud backup and now it doesnt want to activate my imessage and facetime.

How do I remove App Store account that isn't mine?

I open App Store application and it shows that I have 1 update available for an app I never purchased. I try clicking the update button and get the message "You have updates available for other accounts: Sign in to [email protected] to update applications for that account." -- I have no clue what this account is or where it came from but it's not mine. MY updates seem to be working OK but I can't get rid of this 1 update available message.

All app downloaded from Mac AppStore(MAS) contain a receipt inside their app bundle (example: appname.app/Contents/_MASReceipt/receipt). MAS will scan this file to check whether the new version is available.
Sometimes the pirated app receipt doesn't necessarily use the same name as the app.
For example: The app name could be 'Angry Birds' but inside the receipt it's 'Cut the Rope'. Hence MAS will search an update for 'Cut the Rope'
You can use this application (Find Any File) to search any receipt on your drive: http://apps.tempel.org/FindAnyFile/
Launch 'Find Any File' and search for: _MASReceipt
Go throught each result that you think could be the culprit, copy the receipt to your desktop as a backup, and after that delete the receipt inside _MASReceipt folder.
Open MAS and let it scan for software update. If it's still showing the update for the problem apps, it means that you've deleted the wrong receipt. Copy back the receipt backup from your desktop to it's previous location.
Repeat the process until you find the pirated receipt

I have a $20 credit on my iTunes account from Gift Cards and I have no credit card. Why can't I make an in-app purchase?

I've never had a credit card on my iTunes account because I mostly purchase free apps and because I don't own a credit card. If I want to buy an app I use a family members Apple ID. I had two $10 iTunes gift cards and I put them as credits to my iTunes account. Now I'm trying to make an in-app purchase of something worth 19.99 and it says that my iTunes account has insufficient funds. The billing information appears and I choose "none" as I always have for it to charge it to my credit balance but again it says that I have insufficient funds. I checked in my iTunes account and it still says that I have a $20 credit balance.

You have a Puerto Rico address on your account ? From a quick search I've found one site from somebody in Puerto Rico that includes a screenshot for an app receipt showing tax of 7 cents added to a 99 cent purchase. Are you able to view the purchase history on the account that you've been using, and see what prices show on them (e.g. if the store's listed price or price plus tax) : Store > View Account menu option on a computer's iTunes, then 'see all' link next to the Purchase History section.
