Incorrect App Store acknowledgement of previous purchases and install after Mountain Lion

Why do my purchases in the app store still say "Download" for OSX Mountain Lion and Lion and "Install" for FaceTime after successful Mountain Lion install. Lion and Facetime have also been previously installed.

For Mountain Lion and Lion, you can use the download to create an OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion install drive | MacFixIt - CNET Reviews
If you have problems with an app like FaceTime, you can re download the app using the same Apple ID and apps can be re downloaded on all your authorized Macs.
Association of Associated Devices is subject to the following terms:
"You may auto-download Eligible Content or download previously-purchased Eligible Content from an Account on up to 10 Associated Devices, provided no more than 5 are iTunes-authorized computers."

If you don't want to re download, just ignore the Download button at the App Store.

  • App Store stuck with "Waiting..." after Mountain Lion download.

The status of the install seemed to be stuck at "7 minutes remaining", so I closed the App store and re-openeded it. The status changed to "Waiting..." and I am not sure if anything is happening. Has this happened to anyone? If so, did it resolve itself or did you have to do something to push it forward?
This is the second computer I've upgraded to Mountain Lion today from the same Internet connection. I appears that the download completed, and it began installing the OS. How long should this take?

So, the download was finished like I thought. I went to the Applications directory and saw the "Mountain Lion Installer" app. I clicked on it and it installed immediately with no issues.

  • I downloaded music onto my iPhone 4S from from the iTunes Store that I previously purchased, and now I can't delete them from my phone.  I tried do remove them from my MAC too, but still can't delete them.

I downloaded music onto my iPhone 4S from from the iTunes Store that I previously purchased, and now I can't delete them from my phone.

How are you trying to delete the music direct on your iPhone?
You tried to remove the music from iTunes on your Mac how?
Do you have Sync Music selected under the Music tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes on your computer?

  • Can iDvd be removed and reloaded after Mountain Lion loaded ?

Can I remove iDvd from Lion operating system and then reintroduce it after Mountain Lion has been installed?

If you are upgrading from Lion to Mountain Lion, nothing should happen to your iDVD installation (or any other apps you have); but, to be sure, either use the retail  install DVD method Colin mentioned (whatever version of iLife you have - iDVD is included in all of them) or have a bootable clone or Time machine backup before you upgrade (it's good practice to have one anyway).

The missing apps could have been done by setting the Restrictions that can hid those apps. If the backup was made with those retrictions set the the Restrictions are also restored.
Thus, if you get it to work restore to factory settings/new iPod, not from backup

  • App store says I've downloaded and installed lion but its not installed Lion

I've purchased Lion this evening and its downloaded, so it seems by looking at the Purchased area in the App Store, it also says Installed, however Lion hasn't installed, now a little stuck, any kind offers of

Not to worry, managed to sort it in the end.

  • If I buy and install Mountain Lion with my Apple ID, can I log into the App Store on my other Mac and install without paying again?

I want to buy it and install it on all of my Macs but I wanted to see if this was possible by only paying once.

Yes.  Buy it and sign on with your other Macs using the same AppleID.  It will be available in the Purchases tab.
You can also make a copy of it after the first download and move it to your other machines to avoid another 4 gig download.   Make sure to do this before installing as the installer will delete the download from the applications folder.

  • Cant restore previous purchase of OS X Mountain Lion

I had to completely wipe my hard drive today due to my MacBook Pro going to the gray loading screen after a standard restart. This is the second time in a week this has happened to me. I have no idea why or what is causing it. The first time I went to an Apple store and the genius bar was extremely helpful. Although I lost some things due to not having a proper backup because of lack of an external hard drive. This time I decided to fix it myself and I tried to repair the disk but there were way to many problems and it wouldn't repair. The only way I could get my computer to turn on was to erase my hard drive, so that is what I did. After I did that it gave me the only option to download OS X Lion and so I went ahead and did that. Now that my computer is back on and running, thankfully, I want to put OS X Mountain Lion back on my computer. But for some reason the app store is not recognizing the fact that I have already purchased OS X Mountain Lion so the only option it gives me is the $19.99 option. I really don't want to have to buy it again and don't feel like I should have to since I already bought it once. So my question to all this is there any way for me to restore my purchase and download OS X Mountain Lion again but not have to pay again. If anybody can help I would really appreciate it. Also if anybody has any idea why my MacBook Pro is messing up like that twice in only one week? It is extremely frustrating for me. I feel like I seriously got a bad MacBook with all the ridiculous problems I've had in not even two years. Thanks a lot.

Possibly the hard drive is bad. While rare, they sometimes do fail right out of the box.
After erasing and reinstalling, did you add back any third-party software. If so, what software and versions?

  • HT4848 Two days ago I upgraded my MAC PRO from Lion to Mountain Lion via my account at the Apple App store.  My machine runs so slow with Mountain Lion especially mail that it is completely useless.  It take about ten minutes per mouse click to register.

I also run Parralles 7.  I re-installed this a few times with no affect.  I have it not running and my Mountain Lion is still too slow to use.  Again a single mouse or keystroke takes up to ten minues to register.
    Suggestions ?

Then you can update or uninstall your problematic third-party software.

  • Safari and Twitter after Mountain Lion upgrade

After upgrading to mountain lion, Safari doesn't remember me when logging into twitter.com. Once I log in, Safari asks if I want to allow other apps access to my twitter account. This happens every single time. Anyone else have this problem? Any solutions out there?

    Same here.
I login (asks every time), asks if I want to use the account OSX wide, I say 'yes' - twitter loads OK but then the message 'we did something wrong...'.
    Next time - same again.
All other siteswith passwords are OK.

  • HT201272 I have a 2nd gen ipod touch and had to restore it from back up. When I did that, I lost a lot of apps that I had previously purchased and now they will not re-install. How do I get the apps to install on the ipod now?

Please help Obi Wan, you're my only hope.

So you are saying that you purchased it by:
Purchasing iOS 3.1 Software Update for iPod touch (1st generation)
Is iTunes signed into the same iTunes account that purchased it?
How long ago did you purchase it?
Did you purchase it on another computer?

  • App Store says I need more memory to download Mountain Lion.

System says ineed 2GB of memory, but I have plenty of memory.  What is going on?

Well, from the disk utility, it says I have 117.34 GB available.  I am not a computer person at all so perhaps I am misunderstanding what this is telling me:
    Capacity :          124.42 GB (124,419,833,856 Bytes)
Format :          Mac OS Extended (Journaled)          Available :          117.34 GB (117,341,642,752 Bytes)
Owners Enabled :          Yes          Used :          7.08 GB (7,078,191,104 Bytes)
Number of Folders :          89,034          Number of Files :          292,500
Where am I supposed to look to find this out?

  • I have downloaded Mavericks and yet the App store shows "download" under purchases.  Why? Do I keep downloading?

I have previously downloaded Mavericks and yet the App store shows "download"  I did and now I have done it twice.  Today i noticed that 4 apps were marked update and yet they have been updated earlier.    Why does it still say "download"

It will allow you to download again, but you do not have to do so.
If you Sign Out and then Sign In does it still show these status marks?  Do you get the update red badge on the App Store icon, or only in the Purchases area?

  • HT204053 Why does it say that there was a problem with a previous purchase and not let me download apps?

Everytime I try to download a new app it says that there was a problem with a previous purchase and then it said that my card was declined

These are user-to-user forums, nobody on here will know what the problem with the previous purchase might be.
Does the name and address on your credit card match exactly the name and address on your iTunes account, and have you checked with your card issuer to see if they are ones who are declining it ?  You can contact iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • Should data entered in apps purchased in the Apps Store sync on my iPad and iPhone?

Should data entered in apps purchased in the Apps Store sync on my iPad and iPhone?

Syncing between iOS devices should work automatically once you enable it for each app in its Settings. Syncing between iDevices and your desktop, at this time, is more comlicated.
