Incorrect button icons after upgrade

I upgraded to Yosemite yesterday from Mavericks. and now I have noticed that the icons in my applications are showing incorrect images. Below is an example of the incorrect button icons. As you can see beside the full screen button, what would normally be a left, and right arrow buttons are actually a right arrow, and a lock. By clicking on these they still act correct in going left/right. Its just the icons themselves that are incorrect.
The icons are incorrect in Safari and system preferences that I have noticed so far. But since these are standard icons from OS X I assume it will be wrong other places as well.
If it helps before upgrading to yosemite I had installed the obsidian menu bar for mavericks. and forgot to uninstall it prior to upgrade. I have since uninstalled that, and my menubar now looks correct. I don't think that would have affected these icons, but I can't be sure.
Any help in determining what I need to do to get the icons correct would be appreciated.

The only suggestion I can think of is to reinstall the OS.
Do a backup. Boot to the Recovery Volume (command - R on a restart or hold down the option/alt key during a restart and select Recovery Volume). Run Disk Utility Verify/Repair and Repair Permissions until you get no errors. Then re-install the OS.

It's sad that women are a target demographic? Why?
As part of that demographic, I can't say that I get the feeling that Apple is trying to appeal to me. It seems to me that they are assuming that ALL of their users are fairly clueless, not just the female users.
I hardly think the interface changes are due to a desire to market to women. They certainly aren't impressing me, whatever the intent. I don't hate the look of Yosemite, but I don't like it, either. The translucency is a bizarre touch, pointless in terms of function and at odds with the generally joyless flat aesthetic.

Missing application icons after upgrade to 2.0

Missing application icons after upgrading to 2.0. Tetris, Clock and Voice recording icons are missing. Looks like the applications are still installed but they are not showing up with all the other icons.
There is absolutely nothing in the help about restoring icons.
Any ideas as to how I can get these missing icons to display again?

Ipod touch 1G "no wifi" grayed icon after upgrading to 3.1.3

Hello there,
After upgrading my ipod touch to 3.1.3., the wifi icon gone gray and I have no chance to change any wifi settings. I've tried at at least 3 places with different routers where other devices (notebooks, PSP, DS), work fine, so I'm sure it's not an access point problem. Also I can't change any of the wifi settings. I've tried everything (clearing safari cache, history et all, reset network, reset ipod, restore ipod), and nothing seems to work.
The ipod is out of warranty and I wonder if there is some way to "downgrade" it to the previous version or any solution for this problem.

Restore your touch via iTunes. Select "Restore as new" when given the option.
The stuff you got on your PC screen was caused by a basic incompatibility between your browser and the Apple website. Update your browser.

Prohibitory icon after upgrading to snow leopoard from leopard

I have done an upgrade from Leopard to Snow Leopard on several iMacs a Mac Book and a Mac Book Pro to prepare for an upgrade to Lion. The install disk installed 10.6.3. I then did software update to upgrade the system to 10.6.8. This went fine on most Macs but on an iMac and the Mac Book Pro I now get the prohibitory icon when I start them up. I can however start them up in Safe Boot mode by holding the Shift key after the start up chime. Some times If I start-up in safe boot then shut down and then do a regular startup the Mac will start up. Then just to be sure things are working I will do a couple of restarts then eventually the prohibitory icon is back. The problem with trying to troubleshoot this is the inconsistent nature of the problem, some iMacs upgraded fine, one did not and the MacBook Pro did not. Sometimes the Macs with the problem will restart, sometimes not.
I have tried several things.
Zapping the PRAM,
Repairing permissions with Disk Utility.
Removing a login item (a LaCie power button utility)
Reinstalling Snow Leopard starting up from the Install disk.
I am now trying to figure out if there is a third party startup item such as a daemon that is causing the problem. I am planning to remove some third party daemons from the folder /System/LaunchDaemons.
Are there any suggestions as to a process to trouble shoot this? Is there a way to see at which daemon triggered the problem? Is there a log file I could look for?
Is there a reason why the problem is not consistent? Could this give me a clue as to where to look?

Yes, the admin is the first account set up on a fresh install
Make a folder for each user on the data drive
Admin

and drag and drop a copy of each of their
Documents, Movies, Music, Pictures, (Public and Sites if used)
into it if they have files.
When your ready to set up Snow keep this in mind.
Within the iTunesLibrary file there are pathnames to where the music is located.
For example
file://localhost/Users/hummermacjr/Music/iTunes/iTunes%20Music/Music/Enya/A%20day%20without%20rain/03%20only%20time.mp3
When the iTunes music is returned to each users Music folder after you upgrade to Snow you need to match the pathnames so the playlists are preserved.
So you need the same user names and same hard drive name (different passwords if you want) or else there could be location issues, not only in iTunes, but perhaps other files that locate other files and import them.
So in other words you don't want to disturb the order of things as little as possbile.

Printer output incorrect/too small after upgrading to VS 2010 Crystal

I have a Windows Form application that was originally written using .net 3.5 and the version of Crystal Reports that came with Visual Studio 2008. When the VS 2010 release of Crystal Reports came out, I upgraded the application to .net 4/VS 2010 and the new Crystal release.
This application prints checks on blank check stock, so alignment of the output has to be very exact to print the checks correctly. It prints the reports using the PrintToPrinter() method of the ReportDocument class.
In the original version of the program, I had everything aligned correctly in the check report. After updating the application to the latest Crystal release,but making no changes to the report itself, I noticed that the alignment of the checks report was incorrect.
After comparing the output, I was able to determine that the new output is slightly shrunk compared to old output, almost as if it is scaling the report in some way.
I opened the report in the new report designer and verified that all page size and margin settings were correct/the same as before, and they were. The printed output is smaller than it should be based on how the report is designed. I tried adjusted the paper size, and also tried the "Dissociate Formatting Page Size and Printer Paper Size" to see if I could somehow adjust for the scaling, but nothing I tried was successful.
Our check printer is a HP LaserJet 5Si. During my investigation into the problem I discovered that if I printed the report to a pdf printer (PDFCreator) the resulting pdf did not have the same scaling/shrinking problem that I get when the report is sent directly to the LaserJet. I also printed a page from the pdf to the LaserJet using Acrobat Reader, and the output was as I expected it to be.
I only seem to be seeing the scaling/shrinking problem when I send the report directly to the LaserJet. Is there some new setting that I'm overlooking that would be applying some sort of report-wide scaling? Any other ideas as to why this is happening?

I notice that there are several different types (hm, mx, nx, ...). Also, there are different drivers, depending on the OS.
Ensure that you are using the correct driver (hm, mx, nx, ...) for your printer and for your OS and that the driver has the latest updates from HP.

New Tab button missing after upgrade to 7.0.1

I prefer not to have the Tab Bar showing unless I have more than one tab open, but I sometimes like to open a blank tab, so that I can open a link from an email into it. (Not the default for me.) Alas, ever since I upgraded to Firefox 7.0.1 from the version Fedora Linux gave me (3.6.x) I've been unable to get the New Tab button back. Not only can't I move the one on the Tab Bar to the Navigation Bar, it's not available under Customize. It is, however, available on the copy of Firefox 7.0.1 on my laptop, also running Fedora. I've tried running FF in Safe mode, I've backed up my local settings and had Safe mode set everything to default and restarted, with no change. I have Tab Mix Plus installed, but running FF without it doesn't change anything.

I followed the instructions in your first link, but I don't have a user.js file, and in any event, the instructions there aren't really relevant. The problem isn't that Firefox doesn't remember this setting, it's that I can't set Firefox to put a New Tab button on my Navigation bar in the first place because it's not in the list of items I can select. And yes, I've tried restoring the default set several different times with no effect. I know that the button exists, because I can see it on the copy on my laptop, even after the upgrade. The only thing I haven't tried (maybe) is disabling all plugins, so I'll try that and report back.

ITunes displaying incorrect library size after upgrade

I just upgraded from iTunes 6. Before I had about 23 or 25gb worth of music, now it says "5474 songs, 14.2 days, 298.18gb." That doesn't make any sense. How can I fix it? That's definitely not the size of my library. Is this going to mess up my iPod if I try to update it?

Is the iTunes library intact on your computer?
Upgrading to OS 3.0 shouldn't have done anything to your iTunes Library on the host computer.
Try a hard reset on your iPhone (hold both the sleep/wake button and home button down until your iPhone restarts. Reconnect the iPhone to iTunes and check the items you have set to sync (click iPhone icon in devices in iTunes then select each tab on the iPhone page within iTunes).
If the above doesn't help, try restoring your iPhone from within iTunes and set the iPhone up again.

For one our India customer we want to update new TDS slab for the new FY 2010-2011.For this SAP suggested to Note:1452218. As per the note two alternative instruction were given. Apply the relevant HRSP to acquire the corrections. Alternatively, follow the following steps to acquire the changes:
Step 1: Apply the attached correction instructions through 'SNOTE'
transaction.
Step 2: Maintain the customizing entries as mentioned below.
As per the note for the new TDS slab changes Correction delivered in Support Package SAPHRCIN Release 600 SAPK-60056INSAPHRCIN and our cutomer existing system was at SAP_HRCIN Release 600 SAPK-60047INSAPHRCIN._
As our existing system was at SAP_HRCIN Release 600 SAPK-60047INSAPHRCIN, initially we have applied correction instruction and then manual entry in development system and the TDS calculation was correct as per the new slabs.
Now instead of just doing manual correction for the new TDS slab changes we have decide to upgrade SAP_HRCIN, release 600 from 47 to 56 for having better functionality provided by SAP rather than updating of new TDS slab alone. Unfortunately after the upgrade we have found that the TDS calculation is incorrect.
Note: i have already raised OSS note to SAP then haven't respond so far from last two days.
Pls. guide us what we suppose to do now.

Help and Exit button appears after upgradation from External ITS to Integra

Though there some threads with similar problem but still I am not able to fix the problem.
After we upgraded from external ITS to Intergrated ITS some of the application started displaying "Exit" and "Help" buttons. Please note that most of the application are working fine though.

Can't find BBM Icon after upgrade on Torch 9850

Hello all
I did an upgrade to my Torch this morning per a message to upgrade the BBM this morning and all looked like it went well and I restarted the device and NO BBM ICON..
Can anyone help me?
I tried unhide, etc and I can't find it.
I tried to redownload it but it says that it is on my device.

Very sorry, I misread, as the AppWorld missing icon has been prevelant for many, and I jumped in with that solution too quickly.
Do this,
from your Options > Device > Application, scroll to and delete BBMessenger.
Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot.
The, after reboot, using your BlackBerry browser, go to www.blackberry.com/bbm and download/install again.

No iPod Icon After Upgrade to 3.0.1

My iPhone (3G) just finished upgrading to 3.0.1, and now the iPod icon went missing. Its not on any other screen...
Is anyone having a similar issue? Any resolutions?

don't know how similar this is to your problem, but I just upgraded to 3.0.1 on an older non 3G iPhone, and ever since then if I try to access my podcasts or my playlists the phone just jumps back to the main screen. Also, when I'm listening to music or audiobooks, and the phone gets turned sideways, the audio stops and the phone also jumps back to the main screen. What a pain. Everything was fine in 3.0. I've rebooted, I've turned it off and turned it on, nothing helps.

The Publish button disappeared after upgrading to CS5, how do I get it back?

I am administrator for a site that just upgraded from CS3 to CS5. Until then there were no problems, other users would send me their drafts and I would publish them. Now the Publish button is gone and I can only review the draft. The users have writer roles, so they cannot publish either. Could you tell me what I need to do in order to get the Publish button back. For example how to change the workflow xml to get the same workflow that I had in CS3.

Here is the .xml workflow file that I changed a bit, but it still does not work how I want it to and I am not sure where the problem lies. I want to create a workflow where other users in writer roles send their drafts to me and I publish them. I changed the preconditions for publish into "$role == administrator". I don't understand why the button "Send for Publish" does not appear, since it is clearly in the options of this workflow.

Is there a way to go back to the way a game is started by clicking on the icon after upgrading to OS 7?

I just upgrade my wife's IPad to OS7, and now she has to go through three steps to start a game. Is there a way to go back to the older way, which was just to click on the icon for the particular game she wants to play?

Go to the table of contents is one is shown at the top of the page and then use the left arrow key or click on the left side of the page to move back to the cover page. If there is no ToC then just use the left arrow key or click on the left side of the page to move back to the cover page.
