Incorrect dates on picture file

Whenever I import pictures from my camera into iphoto it marks them with a date of December 1, 1921. The camaera company (Samsung) says its not a problem with the camera but a problem with iphoto. Any way to correct this without having to manually change the date of each picture?

I have a FujiFilm FinePix S9000. Image Capture (and iPhoto) transfers .jpgs just fine from the camera. The date modified and the date created are correct. BUT, both programs transfers the .AVI movie files with bogus dates. The original date set by the camera is lost, and it gives a new date as 2 days in the FUTURE past Today's date! This has made a mess of my home movies since I got my new iMac. My iBook G3 never had this problem. AK!
I just tried your trick with changing the date format on my camera. I tried all three choices that the camera allowed:
month/day/year was was causing Image Capture (iPhoto) to set the modified movie date as 2 days from today (in the Finder).
year/month/day caused the movie date to be today but 4 hours from now (in the Finder).
day/month/year which set the date as correctly today.
BUT, none of this helped, because none of these dates assigned to the file by the Fnder was the actual date of the movie itself. This correct movie date can be seen when I open up the camera card that loads as a removable. I can physically drag the movie file to my Movies folder from here, but there is no creation date assigned, only a modification date (which can change with any edit).

  • Removing Incorrect data from .xml files

    How do I remove info in the .xml files.
    When I 1st got my kit it read my fastest km as 4.55mins/km
    This is way too fast as my average is 6.00mins/km.
    Because the info is incorrect I am not getting congratulated by Paula or being able to improve slowly as I will never get to 4.55.
    HELP

    Haplogroup k,
    I think you have understood me. The file was created
    when the unit wasn't callibrated and recorded a false
    reading which was way too fast for me and a lot of
    runners also.
    I want to post best results now that the machine
    works right.
    Most people have said that they were amazed by how accurate the Nike+ was right from the box without calibration. But I'll take your word for it.
    I can get to the .xml files but it won't delete
    records, that's all I want to do.
    I don't know what you mean by "it won't delete records." Are you talking about your Personal Bests? No you cannot edit that fle. But you can delete a run from your Nano.
    However, you can save all your run data to your computer hard-drive, then RESTORE your Nano. But that will also wipe your calibration data and everything else (personal bests). I guess you could then recalibrate before doing any runs. Then put your old run data (your old xml files) back in your "latest" folder.

  • Correcting the date stamp with files converted with mpgstreamclip.

    I have converted some files using streamclip but it changes the date of the file to the date of the conversion. When I try importing them into imovie they are sorted incorrectly. The files were recorded in 07 but now have the date stamp of today. Can anyone help me solve this I am new to the mac and converting footage.

    It seems that I have solved my own problem while searching for answers.
    First I selected the clip with the incorrect date
    Next select File and select Adjust clip date and time.
    Hope this helps someone.

  • When I open up "originals" in my iPhoto library, the dates are not there or are incorrect.  I see date created and date modified, not the original date the picture was taken.  How can I find the accurate original dates?

    I have had a lot of issues with my iPhoto program. After many trips to the Genius Bar and numerous hours with phone techs, I am now rebuilding my library, starting with a backup of it from before the corruption. When I "get info" of a picture, I notice the original date the picture was taken (most important for me), is not there or is wrong.  When I check package contents of my iPhoto library, the originals show up, but most (not all) of the dates are wrong.  Can anyone tell me how or where I might find the original dates?

    I did post to the iPhoto forum and am hoping for an answer soon. I don't want to continue rebuilding my iphoto library if I can do it using originals. My library has 45,000 pictures...a huge job!

  • Encoded picture file with included XMP data

    Hi folks,
    I'm all new to this forum because I can't find a solution to my problem for days now. I have these picture files which are used by a freeware design tool. I badly need to use one of the files in an other design project. But it seems like those files are somehow modified in there file header or encoded.
    Is anybody able to shed some light in the type of file used? I renamed already in .tif .zip .dng and so forth and opening it in an HEX-editor tells me that XMP technology has been used at least for tagging.
    I uploaded a file here http://www.megaupload.com/?d=4N7OYDXR
    and the HEX-code is below.
    Thank you all very much!
    Greets
    Marc

    Hi Marc,
    the XMP states (obviously):
    dc:format = "image/jpeg"
    xap:CreatorTool = "Adobe Photoshop CS3 Windows!"
    According to the XMP it is a JPEG file. But your file is corrupted:
    Each JPEG file has to start with a "Start of Image" tag, which is 0xFF, 0xD8.

  • How do I change the date of pictures in an event?

    I have just noticed, the date on pictures in an event are incorrect ( Jan 2099 ).I have tried to change it, but it will not allow me to, any ideas?

    The date is taken from the EXIF data in the picture file.  That data is added by the camera when you took the photo.  First thing to do is to check the date and time on your camera, so this problem does not continue going forward.
    It appears that iPhoto does not allow you to adjust the EXIF data, so I don't think you will be able to change the date, at least using iPhoto.  There may be some software out there that allows you to do this, but I am not aware of any.

  • Just moved to Mac from Windows, so far biggest headache is the way folders are treated. I manage several very large websites and involve a lot of files within folders and I need the folders to show the date the last file inside it was changed?

    In my FTP client I can click to sort by date modified which is fine if you are in a folder and then it shows the file dates correctly - but any folders within the root folder don't they seem to display randomly all together at the bottom of the list and it is a nightmare trying to find what folders have files in them that have been changed.
    Is there any way to get the folder to register the last date of a file within it that was modified?

    I dont know the answer yet, but i have noted what appears to be a bug in 10.9 in how it handles folder dates.  Right now i am seeing folder modified dates changing randomly ot "today" - whatever date the parent folder was opened.
    In the past my folders "modified" date was always the same as the last modified date of the items within.  But this only moved down ONE level - if a subfolder's entries were updated the "gradfather" folder did not update.
    But now severa people are reporting random, incorrect folder dates. I hoep this will be corrected soon, but who knows?

  • How can i read data in pagemaker file (PMD) using Visual Studio C# NET ?

    I have bunch of data in .PMD file (Page Maker Document). Which contains mathematical equations and chemistry formulas, I am a .NET developer, and I am writing code for one of the educational learning system. For that I need to read and store mathematical equations/ chemistry formulas from .PMD file into database then display on the browser page.
    Is it possible to read data from .PMD file using C#.NET, do I need to use any external libraries. How can I import .PMD to MATHML (Mathematical Markup language)?
    Any existing examples for C#.NET?
    Please help me regarding this.

    I can't claim to know much about visual C# Net, but I do know a bit about pagemaker. It really can't handle equations. there are a few work arounds involving things like baseline shifts and multiple text boxes, but generally equations were created in different programs and placed in pagemaker in picture or eps files. Either way the chances of extracting usable data out of pagemaker is very slim.

  • My hardrive just got diagnosed as 'faulty' even though its only 1year8months old!!! I had adobe bridge installed on the computer with many picture files that included raw images. How can I get these raw files back after computer died?

    computer did not start up one day. it was a white screen
    took it to a mac bar and they said the diagnosis was a faulty hard drive
    I had backed up most of my images ( i am a photographer)
    had not backed up atleast 6 files full of raw images!!!!
    they suggested sending it to a data recovery specialist which would cost around $500!
    I am not getting the answers I need on how, why, or what is going to be recovered or if raw picture files will be able to be saved.
    Not sure what to do next because I dont have loads of extra money laying around to pay for something that should have not occured in the first place if I was actually sold a good computer.
    payed $1095 for this imac and it only lasted just under 2 years. I feel cheated and scammed! Has any one else gone through this same thing?? what did you do?

    If it is only 20 months old it is still covered by the 3-year Applecare.
    You did take out Applecare didn't you?
    I had backed up most of my images ( i am a photographer)
    had not backed up atleast 6 files full of raw images!!!!
    Why did you, as a photographer, not make several backups, not just one or a partial one, of your material?

  • Unable to stop incorrect date exports

    How do we set up a form in Adobe Acrobat XI that allows dates to be formatted a certain way (mmm/dd/yyyy) and exported in the same way to Excel and always be recognized as a "proper" date in Excel?
    Currently the following does not work (Attempt #1):
    Set up a field; Set the format category as date; Set up a Custom format of "mmm/dd/yyyy"
    Create a distribution file
    When users fill out the form if they type in an incorrect date, eg., "August 27 2013", the form automagically shows the date on the PDF as "Aug/27/13" - Great!
    When the users submit the form and it's brought into the response file the dates are shown in a default date format of mm/dd/yyyy - Fine, once the form owners understand this
    When the form owners export the information the data exported is the same as the original users entered it, not as it was automagically formatted to. For instance, if submitters originally entered "August 27, 2013" then that's what goes across to Excel. And some of these formats Excel doesn't know how to convert. - Understandably frustrating for form owners
    Attempt #2: As a workaround we set up special formatting that has a mask of "AAA/99/9999". This at least provides forces the users to use the same formatting, but is confusing the submitters when they need to enter dates from 1-9 and we've also found that the conversion of this format to a date in Excel doesn't work, but at least it's consistent! Javascript was also added to force users to use specific month abbreviations.
    d = new Date(event.value.replace(/-/g, " "));
    if (!Date.parse(d)){app.alert("Please enter in a proper date.\n\nThe month abbreviations are: Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, May, Jun, Jul, Aug, Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec");}
    Attempt #3: The last attempt was to continue to use the set up as Attempt #1, but to also use the javascript from Attempt #2. The theory being that if a user entered in "August 27 2013" the javascript would complain. Alas, the javascript appears to run after Adobe automagically does its date format conversion.
    Does anyone know how to get around this or have any other ideas to either enforce a usable date format or have Adobe export the dates as they've been automatically formatted to? We've tried to find a way to turn off the automatic date conversion that Adobe's running, but haven't found a way yet. Another option seemed to be to allow a masking that allowed for optional characters (so that the "0" wouldn't be needed for the dates 1-9) but there doesn't seem to be one.
    Thanks in advance!

    Since there was no clear way to ensure that the date formatting was correct prior to exporting, we're going to get the respondants to use drop downs to ensure the formatting is correct. Not the most convenient for the users though as they're accustomed to being able to type in the values to select it (e.g., for the date of 23 they would expect to enter 2 then 3 for 23) based on other applications, but the Adobe pull downs don't "group" what's been entered (e.g., 2 then 3 will select 30, not 23) and so it will take them a bit to get used to it. I still can't believe that Adobe wouldn't simply export what it's been formatted to though... after all that's what we set the form up for.

  • ABAP Data to XML file

    Hi,
    I have read this weblog
    /people/patrick.baer/blog/2005/02/24/abap-serialization--part-i-quick-n-easy and tried to serialize ABAP data into XML format.
    In fact, I have copied the exact code from this weblog, but somehow this file is not visible in my pc.
    DATA example_data TYPE spfli.
    select single * from spfli into example_data.
    DATA xml_utils TYPE REF TO if_ixml.
    xml_utils = cl_ixml=>create( ).
    DATA xml_stream_factory TYPE REF TO if_ixml_stream_factory.
    xml_stream_factory = xml_utils->create_stream_factory( ).
    DATA xml_output_stream TYPE REF TO if_ixml_ostream.
    xml_output_stream = xml_stream_factory->create_ostream_uri( system_id =
    'file://c:test.xml' ).
    try.
    CALL TRANSFORMATION id
    SOURCE data_node = example_data
    RESULT XML xml_output_stream.
    catch cx_sy_conversion_base64 CX_SY_CONV_ILLEGAL_DATE_TIME.
    write 'there is an exception'.
    endtry.
    This part of the code, I have also changed to :
    xml_stream_factory->create_ostream_uri( system_id =
    'file://test.xml' ).
    and still the file is not visible.
    I presume three reasons:
    a) Looking in the wrong place
    b) Some configuration, I am not doing properly
    c) Something else has to be done, to write a file to system
    Any help on this regard, is highly appreciated.
    Next issue being, how robust is the approach of serializing ABAP data into XML format, so that a third party system can pick up this data and do a comparison ?
    Some parameters that I am looking for in this regards are:
    a) Error Validation (can XML data be incorrectly written into a file/while transmitting this data some errors can creep in. If so, how do I rectify it. As far as I know, this data can only be written to Presentation Server or using FTP ,transported to required destination. Is there any other approach ? )
    b) Security
    Would be great if you could drop some hints for the above procedure.
    Regards,
    Subramanian V.

    I think you are perhaps overestimating the capabilities of the osteam object.  If you want to write the XML to a file the easiest thing to do is render it an ostream_itable (internal ABAP table).  Then you can download it your PC with the GUI_DOWNLOAD function:
    parameter: ifile type file_table-filename obligatory
               default 'c:issue.xml'.
    ****Temp File name for function module call.
    data: ifilename type string.
      move ifile to ifilename.
      create object issue

           id     = id
           create_mode = abap_false.
      data: g_ixml type ref to if_ixml,
             g_stream_factory type ref to if_ixml_stream_factory,
             xslt_err type ref to cx_xslt_exception,
             g_encoding type ref to if_ixml_encoding,
             ostream type ref to if_ixml_ostream.
      constants:  line_length type i value 4096.
      types:      line_t(line_length) type x,

          g_encoding = g_ixml->create_encoding( character_set = encoding
            byte_order = 0 ).
          refresh restab.
          ostream =
            g_stream_factory->create_ostream_itable( table = restab ).

    As far as a different system, once you have the data serialized into a string or internal table you have lots of possibilites.  If the other system is an SAP system you could send the data via RFC.  You could always write the XML string to the server file system (via open dataset, transfer to dataset).  You can then FTP the file (using built in SAP FTP functionality) just about anywhere.
    What are you looking for as far as robust and secure.  The XML serializer is built in the ABAP Kernel and quite robust.  As far as secure- the data isn't secure at all.  The data is written into a simple string (if written into the file system or your pc - it is a text or binary file that can easily be read by just about anything).  Serializing to XML in and of itself isn't going to provide any security.

    Not a problem when using iPhoto on a Mac, which the transfer of photos is primarily based on - not manually managing photo storage as seems to be common with Windoze.
    The same should be available with a supported photo management app on a PC.

  • Vaildating File name with the data in the file using sender file adapter

    Hi,
    Below is the scenario
    1)       Pick up files from a FTP server, the file name is dynamic, how do I put dynamic name in sender file adapter?
    2)       Determine if the user correctly named the file based on data in the file.
    a.       File naming structure that we will be concerned with is <company_code><accounting_time_period>.<extension>
    b.      The company code and the time period in the file name have to match the data in the file.
    i.      For example.  If the file name is 1001_200712.csv and the data in the file is for company code 1005, time period 200712, the file is incorrectly named.  Both values must be correct.
    How do we do this?

    Hi Sachin,
                    As Rightly said by Krishna, You can not put Dynamic name in sender File Adapter .You have to provide the name of the file like "*.txt" in Sender Adapter and at runtime you can access this file name by using following UDF:
    DynamicConfiguration conf  = (DynamicConfiguration) container
      .getTransformationParameters()
      .get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File","FileName");
    String valueOld = conf.get(key);
    return (valueOld);
    As now you have picked up the file name at runtime.
    Now concatenate source file fields Company_code and Accounting_timeperiod using "_" as delimiter in properties.Also concat the extension .Now you have required file name.
    So using EQUALS standard function ,compare it with File Name fetched at runtime using above given UDF, and pass result as you desire to process further or not or to raise Alert to resend the file.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Anurag Garg
    You can validate this file name in Mapping itself.

  • CS4 programme error trying to save picture files!

    Hi,
    I have a frustrating error when trying to save some of my older picture files with CS4 Extended.  The ones that I am looking at are 5 years old and taken with my Canon 5D.  When I open a file and then try to save it the save option is grey and only save as is available.  When I try to save as I get the error Could not complete your request because of a programme error.
    I have been trouble shooting the problem images and see that I cannot get File Info on these images with the following error, Could not complete the File Info command because of a problem with the File Info module.  When I look at some earlier D10 pictures they operate perfectly as do my more recent 5DMkII images.  I have tried removing the Exif data from the problem files and all the problems go away so I must be something to do with this embedded data.  The problem images don't have corrupt data... it is all there and looks correct.
    I keep track of my photos with IDimager V4.
    Does anyone have a explaination or a cure for this problem as the last thing I want to do is loose my File Info for all those old picture that I still need to work on and use.
    Many thanks,
    Nick

    Aperture Video Import Problem - from Lumix GH4: Imported clips have their dates changed to the import date.  The files show up on the hard drive with import date not created date, but many of these same files are not showing up in Aperture. Sometimes the clips actually show up with the current import but take on the video information from a previously imported file.

    It was suggested I move this question to IPhoto or IMovie which I did.
    Well moving to a different discussion group did not provide an answer to this question either. But what I finally did was import one batch of photos and videos into IPhoto for a given day at a time. Working with these I could change the date and times in order to get them in the original sequench taken. Then I would create an album with that batch. These would all be on the same day (IMove was closed for this phase). Then I would open IMovie, generate the thumbnails for that album, and select the album I had created. This was necessary because the importing process in IPhoto was using incorrect dates for my video so it was a real struggle finding them in IMove until I developed this approach.
    I believe that this whole process was so screwy because I was importing from an external hard drive not a camera. I had these photos on a PC and did not have the original cameras to use to import directly which I am fairly sure would have made this easier!
