Incorrect DNS when using DHCP. DNS server is considered to be a Virus??

Running 10.5.5. Noticed extreme slow down in resolving domains in safari, firefox. I currently use Verizon FIOS. When looking in network settings it shows a DNS server as 85.255.115.30. This is not verizon's DNS server. When I delete that server out and add the Open DNS server's address internet works great. This is not an issue on Verizon's end because any ethernet connection to any internet provider will default to using that address for DNS. Only does it over ethernet. Tried deleting the port and re adding and still comes back. No issues when booted off another drive. Mcafee says that a Trojan changes the DNS on PC's. No PC's are networked to this mac. I cannot delete this DNS server under the DNS tab in advanced settings...?

That IP address does seem to fall within the range known to have been used by the DNS changer trojan (try searching the web for "DNS changer", puper, OSX.RSPlug.A, 1023.dmg, etc.). That very likely means that at some point, malware managed to run with "root" privileges on your system.
Under such circumstances, it would be safest to back up all of your data and reinstall the OS and applications from known "good" media.

Usually access is controlled by permissions which are set in the CMC (BO web admin tool). You can map 3rd party groups from AD or LDAP and then assign permissions to those groups or set up security with built in enterprise groups as well. You may elect to use any combination of the above. For more complex security models there can use database and row level security built into our meta layers called business views and universes.

When using a proxy server at work, Deezer page does not load normally?

When using a proxy server at work, Deezer page does not load normally, but when I go home and use connection without proxy, everything is fine.
It loads, and some features on the website work, but the look is not the same. Over the proxy it shows just text on the left side of the screen and I can't choose some of the options.
When I go home and use my home connection without proxy, there are no problems, everything is OK.
Could you please solve this?

DHCP giving out incorrect DNS server information

Migrated my ONLY DHCP server from a 2k3 server to a new 2k8 server and I cannot figure out why it wont give out the correct DNS server settings.
Here is what I have tried so far:
Stopped service on the old DHCP server and forced a /release /renew on the workstation.
Stopped service on both DHCP servers to see if there is some other DHCP server, computers wouldn't get any IPs.
If I setup a reservation for the workstation it will give out the CORRECT DNS settings.
Ran a GPO Policy result for the user and computer I'm testing and no IP configuration is configured at all for any GPO.
Other Information:
Only have 1 scope setup.
When I run a ipconfig /all it does show the DHCP server as the correct one (new server).
This problem was happening on the old server as well, I thought maybe migrating to a newer server would help but I'm getting the exact same results.

We can perform a network capture on the client. It will show the process of the DHCP.
Please check the DHCP offer message sent by the DHCP server and the DHCP request message sent by the client.
Make sure that the server gives the right DHCP setting.
If the server is giving the right setting, it should be a client issue. Please check the event log of the DHCP client.
If the server is giving the wrong setting, it should be a sever issue. Please check the configuration of the DHCP sever.

Order of DNS servers when using DHCP random after 10.9.3 update

I am operating my local DNS server on my home network for resolving all local IP addresses and names.
The router which connects me to the ouside world is also running a DHCP server serving the local network.
It inherits from outside world two DNS server IP addresses (which cannot be disabled) and has the local DNS server
manualy configured to be "first". I.e. it supplies via DHCP option 6 an ordered list of three DNS servers.
So far so good and all was working well until the 10.9.3 update...
I.e. the local DNS was on top of the list and the others where only queried when it was not responding for some reason.
After the 10.9.3 update every time I do a DHCP renewal the list of DNS servers has a different (random) order.
Not surprisingly if the local DNS isn't on top local lookups will fail.
I have done some packet analysis on the LAN and the DHCP is definitely sending the DNS server IP addresses in the correct order
(see rfc 2132, chapter 3.8).
So why does 10.9.3 get the idea that it has to re-shuffle the order? To "improve the experience"???
And more importantly hot to get rid of it and restore normal behaviour?

Samba mount problem when using Oracle VM Server 2.1

I´m trying to mount a remote samba share from an Oracle VM Server 2.1 installation.
To be able to do a mount.cifs, I installed samba-client manually using yum.
yum repository based on Enterprise Linux 5 Update 1
In the first step the mount failed with
CIFS VFS: Server requests plain text password but client support disabled
CIFS VFS: Send error in SessSetup = -13
CIFS VFS: cifs_mount failed w/return code = -13
After doing an
echo 0x37 > /proc/fs/cifs/SecurityFlags
the plain text password error message is gone.
but
CIFS VFS: Send error in SessSetup = -13
CIFS VFS: cifs_mount failed w/return code = -13
still exists.
The mount command looks like that:
mount.cifs //*servername*/*share* /mnt/*localdir* -o sec=none,user=*username*,pass=*password*
The samba server which provides the share, only accept plain text password with no chance to get this adjusted.
Is there anybody who knows how to fix this issue? Help would be really appreciated.

Which is an indicator that the password is transfered incorrectly.
As the password is for sure correct, it seems to me that the sec=none option is not working correctly when using OVM 2.1.
When using Enterprise Linux 5 Update 1 all is working well.
There you did not even need to use the "echo 0x37"
It works out of the box using sec=none mount option.
That is also a reason why I started this post under Virtualization and not under Linux ;-)
I assume it is a OVM 2.1 specific issue.

"Other.." takes a while to appear when using DHCP

Ever since upgrading to 10.4.6 I've had to use DHCP in Directory Access to bind to the Server, before I was doing it manually but its suddenly stopped working on all client computers.
Using DHCP does work but occassionally it can take anywhere between 20 seconds and 20 minutes for "Other.." to appear in the log in window. I seems to happen randomly and not a peak usage times (sometimes Its just one person trying to log in) we only have 8 Network user accounts at the moment.
There are no errors in the DHCP log. Any suggestions other than rolling back to 10.4.5 ?

I have noticed the same behavior when closing Mail. Sometimes it hangs by itself for a few seconds, sometimes it shuts down immediately. I guess what I trying to say is, that this behavior appears to be random, and that I have learned to live with it
As for the All Mail folder under Gmail, for your IMAP Gmail account, you need to know that Gmail archives email threads as conversations - i.e. differently than with other email service providers - and that deleting certain emails in Mail, if they belong to a conversation, might/will result in deleting the entire conversation, which you may not want to do if one or several emails in that conversation are important to you. So the bottom line is you do not want to delete anything in All Mail if you save emails to individuals folders in Leopard Mail or labels if in gmail over the web. What you want to do is limit the deleting to the Trash and the Sent folders. Incorrect Results When Using an In-Line View and User Function in 10g

My developers are complaining of incorrect Select statement results when using an in-line view along with a user defined function. Below is the statement:

Test_f() is a user defined function and the above query returns thousands of rows. It should return 308 rows. It is apparent that the target database is not evaluating the "where wo1 is null;" clause.

In the above query return 308 rows. The user function was replaced by an Oracle function. The Where clause is now evaluated correctly.
The query is executed from an Oracle 10g R2 database and retrieves data from a 9.2.0.6 database.
I've seen a little information on Metalink. It appears that there was some trouble in 9i, but were fixed in a 9.2.0.6 patch. I don't see any information about a 10.2.0.2 database.
Anyone have any experiences or a successful solution. I suspect that I will need to report this to Oracle and wait for a patch.

I can only think of two reasons for this behaviour:
1) You are executing these two queries from two different users and there is some policy on the table.
2) The function doesn't do an upper, but returns null a lot of times, even when the input is a not null value, like this:

Do i need to authenticate when using my mail server

I am trying to send an email using my mail server who i have an account with. When i run the code it returns a connection timed out and could not connect to SMTP host. Do i need to specify my username or password if so how do i do this.

It depends on your mail server. Most mailservers dont expect you to authenticate while a few do. First, try to telnet to your mail server using the telnet utility.

If this is not what happens, then your mailserver requires authentication and I dont know how to do it. But from what seems to be the problem, I think you are not able to contact the mail server itself. When you do telnet to mailserver just see how long it takes to connect.

Columns incorrectly omitted when using states: AdvancedDataGridColumn, includeIn

When setting the includeIn property of any column in an AdvancedDataGridColumn array, the first column that is set to include is the only column shown, regardless of the includeIn or excludeFrom directives of the other columns. The code below should show a datagrid with two columns, but only the first one appears.
Does anyone have any idea why? The behavior is correct for regular DataGrid, only incorrect for AdvancedDataGrid.

This does not work for me, as I've added functionality to select which columns should be visible. Setting visible to false will hide the column initially, but this column will be listed in the select visible column options.
That's why I need to understand what is wrong when using includeIn/excludeFrom.

Visibroker Bind Error When Using Sun Application Server

I have a servlet that utilizes Visibroker 3.4 to access CORBA objects. My servlet works fine when using Tomcat; however, when using the Sun Application Server 8.2 PE, the same code does not work. After a few second delay (timout?) then the following exception is thrown.

Incorrect workbook results using pre-calculation server

Hi,
I encounter problem running BW 3.5 workbook (Excel 2007) using pre-calculation server. The results show incomplete data, mostly of the time missing characteristic values. However, it works for one of the report.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have tested with new workbooks inserted with new queries, and those are running OK manually. The workbook does not exceed 65k rows or 255 columns.
I discovered one of the workbook showing correct results except for calculation using function %A, so I suspect there is missing setting in Excel 2007 that has caused the macro not working properly.
Anything to share ?

DNS Registration Issues when using DHCP Server in Other Domain

We have an issue where we have 2 domains with an external trust between and a set of DHCP servers that are only located in Domain A.
Clients in Domain B receive the DHCP information from Domain A which also gives them DNS settings pointing to Domain Controllers in Domain A. There are forwarders in place so resolution works.
However clients when registering their DNS information in their own domain gets refused by Domain B Domain Controllers.
Is there a way to populate a security group to allow client's in Domain B to register DNS configuration on their Domain B Domain Controllers?
I know the easiest way would be to create additional VLANs for DCs and clients and segregate clients with IP helpers to different DHCP servers per domain. But this cannot be done unfortunately.
Any help or advice appreciated on this one

VPRS incorrect cost when using Split Valuation

Hello,
We are using split valuation thus each valuation type has a separate moving average price. When creating a billing doc, my pricing procedure is called which includes VPRS. The problem is the cost returned is not for the correct valuation type which is passed in the billing document (Field BWTAR). The cost returned in pricing is the moving average without any valuation type. Does anyone know of any configuration to calculate VPRS based on the batch/valuation type provided in the billing document?
My pricing procedure includes condition VPRS which is set to SUTOT = B, Reqt = 4 and statistical. The condition type is set to defaults (Cond Class = B, Calculation Type = C, Condition Category = G). The article master has field Price Control set to V and split valuation is enabled.
The billing document type being used is FP (POS Interface)
The item category is DLN
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am not totally knowledgeable on this subject but want to give my best shot.
I think you need to ensure that the system takes (redetermines) the cost from Valuation segment in the material master.
1) So make the cond category a T (Moving price). Don't change VPRS but copy it and set up ZPRS and then use it in the pricing procedure as an alternative to VPRS.
2) You may also need to work on the copy control- Item cat level- especially Pricing Rules- Probably you need to set up a custom one which says 'keep manual prices as they are, but redetermine cost". Then you need to set up USEREXIT_PRICING_RULE from Program RV61AFZA to make this work. . Use OSS note 24832 to set up your new pricing rule.
3) Also check out 'Price Source' field- in copy control again- to see if it helps you achieve your objective.
Also about VPRS, OSS note 547570 says "If the condition control (KSTEU) is set to 'H', the cost was taken from the goods issue. If it set to 'A', it was redetermined from the valuation segment of the material master, in case of 'D' or 'E' it was copied from the preceding document:. But I don't know how you can use this information.
Go through these OSS notes and those mentioned within for a good idea of VPRS.
