Incorrect exchange rate is getting picked for Billing doc

Hello ,
For billing document,(i.e document type RV ), exchange rate type B is defined. But when I  pass a billing document through VF01, the exchange rate is picked from exchange rate type M
But if I do a FI document through F-02 for document type RV , the exchange rate is picked from exchange rate type B.
please let me know why the sytem during VF01 is not taking rates from exchange rate B.
Thanks

Hi,
If this scenario includes excise transaction then check in sprologistic general-Tax on goods & Movementsindia- basic settings -
maintain company code setting -
in that check which doc type are assigned which exchange type is assigned i think this may help you.

  • Re: exchange rate did not effect for the billing M

    hi experts,
    good morning to all,
i have a doubt my company code currency is HKD.
the exchange rate given on 01.01.2011 is 10.26xxx and for 01.2.2011 given as 10.37xxx for HKD to EUR.
for january the invoices generated correctly by using M, now where as for february the invoices generated did not capture the M rate. when we see the documents it captured 11.35xxx for HKD to EUR i checked in ob08 the ex.rate for M is 10.37xxx.
so if any body face the same scenerio giveme your inputs awaiting for your golden replies and have a good day to all.
    thanks in advance,
    kumar.b

    Hi,
    I think u maintained 2 exch. rates 10.37 and 11.35 for date 01.02.2011
So system giving priority to 11.35 because you may be enetered this rate after 10.37
Also check which exchange rate type is maintained for customer, it might be there is diffrent exchange rate type in customer master in stead of M, and for that exchange rate type the rate is 11.35.
    Determination of exchange rate
Exchange rate type(in customer master-billing tab) + Valid from date = Exchange rate
    Kindly check thoroughly.

  • Currency Conversion for billing doc and after user exits in COPA

    Hello Friends,
Need your view on this issue:
    1. Company codes currency and Operating currency is different., Costing Based CO-PA.
    2. Value filed "Gross Sales" get posted via Billing doc. In case of correction billing or re-posting (after reversal of original one) of billing doc value
field "Gross sales" get posted based on exchange rate of original (very first) posted document because system is updating "Translation date"
in table BKPF from very first document posted and not taking current date as a translation date. SAP standard program is  reading "Translation date" from BKPF to chose exchange rate and valuating "Gross Sales" on that ex.rate.
    3. Some user exits in COPA valuation to populate some values for other value field (Example - Gross Sales value should populate in value field
"Sales ASP"). After valuation in exits, SAP standard program is re-valuating value fields value (program statement is : perform currency conversion for fields that were changed in exit ) and for this valuation system is taking posting date for exchange rate.
Due to above logic company code currency value is different in Gross Sales and Sales ASP.
Requirement is : Sales ASP value should be same as Gross Sales.
Can you please share your thought to find the solution.
    Thanks
    Ravi

Check if the currency key and the unit of measurement are filled in (these will be the reference fields specified in the field definition of the structure at the database level).

  • Incorrect Exchange Rate on Billing Documents

    Hi All
When checking a billing document, i am getting a conversion rate from GBP to EUR as 1.58, whereas the rate I specified on OB08 was 1.26, why does this happen and from where does this 1.58 get generated
This is a show stopper kinda issue, any help will be greatly appreciated
    Thank u
    Rukshana

    Hi,
You have to clear the "Alternate exchange rate type (ert)" for the currency pair you are interested in the "define translation ratios for currency translation" screen. You can navigate from the img to Currencies to find the transaction.

  • Incorrect Exchange rate used for return deliveries

Hello Friends I have following problem can someone please help
Germany has produced a return document for a delivery in the month of April. The document type WL (GR) has been used for this. The customizing is set up for this document type to use the exchange rate type P. Anyhow, the system has used this x-rate type for the entry on the account 5000000 but the account  5500000 was translated with a different x-rate. After investigating we found out that the x-rate used is the ZPLN rate which was due on document day plus one (13th of April). As a result the account clearing with the transaction F.13 did not work. Additionally a PPV (exchange rate related) has been booked to bring the journal to zero were no PPV should have been booked.
After my research i found Return was done for 7 pc u2013 based on different exchange rate than goods receipt (exchange rate type P) u2013 now we are not able to clear this documents (using F.13) becouse amounts are not balanced.
Could someone Please  help.and provide details what i need to do fix this

  • Exchange rates at line items in billing document - VF04

    Hello,
We are trying to create a collective billing document, via transaction VF04, for deliveries created from two sales orders with different exchange rates (VKBD-KURRF).
When we try to execute this operation, two billing documents are created and in split analysis. This behavior is due to different exchange rates (from sales orders).
Since the sold-to-party is the same, he wants a unique billing document for all deliveries.
So we pretend to post one billing document with different exchange rates at item level, instead of at header level.
    Is this possible?
    Regards,
    José Melo

    Dear José Melo
You can combine multiple deliveries in one billing document provided the following are same in all preceding documents
    -  Payer
    -  Actual GI Date from Delivery
    -  Payment Terms
    -  Inco Terms
    -  Account Assignment Group of customer
    -  Exchange Rate
In your case, since invoice is splitting due to exchange rate, you can achieve to have one invoice.  In VF04, you can see a tab Default Data  where there is a field Service Rendered Date.   Maintain a date and generate so that you will get one invoice.

  • GL Account is not getting picked by billing document

    Hi Gurus,
one new GL account is set up by our FI team for a accrual condition type.
    case 1:
Now when i have cancelled the previous created billing doc and trying to create again then the new GL account is not getting picked.
    case 2:
Whereas when am doing the complete process flow like sales order creation, delivery and billing then the new GL account is getting picked.
Could you please let me know what would be the reason for this, why its not getting picked in first case.
    Thanks,
    Ashi

    Hello Preety,
Unless you see the Revenue Account Determination Analysis for the Billing document, it is very difficult to understand the reason. Please click on the Environment >> Acc.Determination Analysis >> Revenue account in the VF03 screen and find the missing assignment.

  • Alternate Exchange Rate Type Not Picked while converting from Document Currency to Group Currency

    Hello Gurus,
We have setup an alternate Exchange Rate type MNB for rate M for the postings happening in Hungary. Local currency is HUF. Group currency is USD.
If the document currency is, lets say, EUR, latest MNB rate is correctly picked up (EUR to HUF) and postings are correctly converted into local currency (HUF).
Although, for the same document, when a group currency is being calculated (EUR to USD), exchange rate type M is being picked up. Same happens if  document currency is HUF. Even then, the conversion is based on exchange rate type M.
Is this a normal SAP behavior? How to prevent/correct this? This is also throwing off balances when we check in FAGLB03 or BSEG values in local and group currencies. In OB22, we have local currency1 and local currency 2 setup with exchange rate type M and we may not want to make any changes there as it is setup at global level.
Do we need to run any valuations after the fact? if so, how?
Thank you for your inputs in advance.
    Regards,
    Sagar

    Hi,
You mentioned that "in OB22, we have local currency1 and local currency 2 setup with exchange rate type M". Then, I'm wondering how MNB is picked up for the first local curr. conversion to HUF? It should be 'M' instead. There must be some settings in your instance for such behavior. Can you check that?
Actually, Group Curr. conversion happens with the rate defined for 2nd Loc.Curr.in OB22 which is 'M' in your case. Therefore, all the transactions are converted with M instead of MNB.
Since you can't change OB22 per global co.policy, the exch.rate defined in OBA7 will overrule OB22. However, you've to make sure it's set up for all doc.types which are affected and posted in different curr. than HUF.
As a workaround, another thought would be to maintain the same conversion rate for both exch.rate types MNB & M, for eg. HUF > USD rate is the same both exch.rate type MNB & M. This way, you ensure all transactions are posted with correct exch.rate irrespective of whatever rate type is used.
From business, & global org. perspective, I'm sure they are sending the 'M' exch.rates to all their sister concerns monthly, so they would like to consolidate results as per standard rate in their system. Then, why ,as a local company, would you like to fiddle with standard process? It's a management decision, please run them through again before going ahead.
    Thanks,
    Nirav

  • Exchange Rate to be picked up from MIGO Document Date

    Dear Friends,
During MIGO for a foreign purchase order the exchange rate is picked up from table OB08 based on the MIGO posting date.Is it possible for it to be picked up based on MIGO document date using exit.We are not using  Material Ledger.
    TIA
    Sathish Kumar

    Dear Sathish,
We have the same issue about MIGO exchange rate.
We can change exchange rate derived from document date in MIRO via to using BADI FI_TRANS_DATE_DERIVE.  But in MIGO we don't know how to change the exchange date from Posting date to Doc date.
We are using Material Ledger, so we can handle the amount of exchange rate diff. Anyway we don't want post the diff from GR and IV exchange rate.
    TIA

  • Is it possible to use an exchange rate of any date  for amounts of a cube

    Hello experts,
Is it possible or not to use an exchange rate of any date (ex : 23/02/2009) for amounts of a cube where the time are ONLY Fiscal Period.
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for the immediate response.
    The situation is..
We have the cube , that has only FISCAL PERIODS.
The user want to apply an exchange rate of the date 23/02/2009 (which is NOT the last day of the period !).
See here the values of the table TCURR,, for the dates between 20/02 and 05/03.
Normally, the user wants to use the Rate of the 23.02.2009 --> 0.87800
Currently all the queries gives a calculation based on the rate of 0.89330, which is related to the 1st day AFTER the posting period that correspond to the given key-date.
    1.There are 3 fiscal periods ; 001 / 002 / 003.
2.The calculated rate (0.89335) correspond to the TCURR rate of 02.03.2009 (value 0.89330)
which date correspond to the 1st day after the fiscal periods (002) in which the key-date (23/02/2009) was choosen.
    Hence, we can say that the key-date is u2018Recognizedu2019 by the system as a true referenceu2026 (the choosen period correspond to the choosen key-date) ;
BUT, it seems impossible to get the rate of a specific date, for a cube that has only FISCAL PERIODS.
    I am looking for
    1.looking in the literature whether this case is explained clearly ;
2.eventually, finding a way to respons to the useru2019s ,needs
    thanks in advance.

  • Incorrect exchange rate on credit memo.

    BW Experts:
We are on SAP_BW700 0021 SAPKW70021 SAP NetWeaver BI 7.0     Component Supp. Pkg..
Credit memos loaded into the 0sd_c03 sales overview cube is not using the exchange rate from the base billing document.
It is using the exchange rate on the day the credit memo is posted.
    Ex:
Billing date = 9/30/2010   uses exchange rate on 9/30/2010.
Credit memo created = 10/05/2010 uses exchange rate of 10/05/2010. It should use the exchange rate from 9/30/2010.
What do the experts suggest to fix this issue.

  • Exchange rate to be picked

    Dear experts
Kindly let me know how the exchange rate is picked for a document posting.
My scenario is : i am making a Vendor Invoice - Document type 'KR'.
In OBA7, the exchange rate type is Blank.
The Invoice i am making is with Currency Code - USD to be converted to local currency EUR.
    Regards
    Eashwar

    Dear Eashwars,
The exchange rate is decided by your customizing settings:
in Tcode OBA7, if default ex.type is defined as "blank", then system will take default exchange rate type "M" to find the ex. change rate in Tcode OB22 when no "reference currency" and "Alternative exchange rate type" are defined.
If "reference currency" is defined for ExRt "M" in Tcode OB07 , then system will use this exchange rate type :M , and the rates of all currencies in relation to the reference currency. All foreign currency translation is then carried out in two stages via the reference currency. for details please refer to example in F1help of ""reference currency"  field in Tcode OB07.
If " ALT.ERT"-> "Alternative exchange rate type"  is defined in Tocde OBBS, system will take this ex. rate type to find ex. rate in Tcode:OB22, for details please refer to F1 help of this field.
Hope above information are helpful for you.
