Incorrect link for "Oracle9i Release 2 for Windows Server 2003 (32-bit)

Hi. Go to here http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/oracle9i/index.html
Then, under "Oracle9i Release 2 (9.2.0.1)", try to download "Oracle9i Database Release 2 Enterprise/Standard/Personal/Client Edition for Windows Server 2003 (32-bit). It just gives you a patch. It's not the correct link. Where is the full CD images!
Compare this to the 64-bit version under "Oracle9i Release 2 (9.2.0.2). This does have 2 big CD images.
Can you fix the link? I need the software for Windows Server 2003 (32-bit). Thanks.

Yes, it's a little confusing but it's all in the release notes on that page. Basically, you need to install 9.2.0.1 for WinNT/2000 first and then apply the patch to bring it up to v9.2.0.3 for Windows 2003.

Installation problem with windows server 2003 64 bit

I downloaded all hyperion components from e-deleivery for windows server 2003 64 bit when i tried to install it a message said that some component are not compatible when i removed stratigic finance and FDM components the installation started and completed .in the configuration phase many components failed to configured and here's a copy of the log file:

Hi,
EDGE/Crystal Reports Server and Enterprise are no native 64bit applications. That does mean that they only run in 32bit mode. But you can install it on a 64bit hardware with a 64bit OS.

ERROR FRM-41211 Windows server 2003 64 bits

I install Forms&Reports 6i patch 17 on windows server 2003 64 bits an i get all times FRM-41211. The report background service is open but i don't see anything in the log.
I test the call to the report with RUN_PRODUCT and RUN_REPORT_OBJECT and the result is the same.
Anybody can help me?

Is this correct. Does "Crystal Reports 2008 Service Pack 0" supports (Full) x64 systems??? But i suppose that it will not work in IIS 7.0 on Windows Server 2008 x64!?
I'm actual works on moving all my reports to Reporting Services, because BO gives no information about the support for x64 Systems. They say, that SP 1 of CR 2008 could support x64. But how long do loyalty customers wait for this? I do wait enough...

Laserjet CP2025 share issue (64-bit drivers from Windows Server 2003 32-bit).

We are migrating our Desktops from XP 32-bit to Windows 7 64-Bit and I'm trying to update all of our printer drivers on our Print Server (Windows server 2003 32 Bit).
I am adding the new drivers by opening up each printers properties on the print server, going to Sharing and then add new driver and directing it to the relevant folder for the 64-bit drivers for the printer.
Every printer (HP, Panasonic, Brother) has worked so far, except for the HP Laserjet CP2025. The Net Express installer doesn't work. Nor do the Universal Printing Drivers (PLC 6). Does anyone know a way around this?

Officejet 8600 Pro and Windows Server 2003 (32 bit)

The company I am consulting for purchased three 8600 Pro printers to replace three older and non-working printers. They are still using XP Pro on their workstations and running Windows Server 2003 (32 bit version) on a file server and data server. All of the workstations have the drivers for the 8600 installed and are printing with no problems through the network. I checked the driver page on HP's site and there are no drivers listed for the 32 bit version of the server OS, only the 64 bit version. I need to install the printer drivers on these servers to be able to print reports without having to purchase another printer. Has anyone found a workaround to this problem or do I have to install one of the older printers in order to print and fax from the servers? I really can't shut down these servers in order to reinstall the 64 bit version of the OS.

Install the software using the command prompt, the software do supported on Windows Server 2003 but its installation process is different.

Installing CE 7.1 in Windows Server 2003 (32 bit)

Hi,
I am trying to install CE 7.1 on Windows Server 2003 - 32 bit. Is this possible on a 32 bit system?
If not, then what is the alternative?
I cannot install CE 7.1 on Windows XP as the DB i am using is SQL Server 2005 which cannot be installed on Windows XP.
Plz give me the possibilities.

A 32 Bit Systems seems to be the only way to go. As I said in the other thread, the installation chrashed during the Installation on a Win 2008 64 Bit system, it works fine on a 2008 32 bit one.

Issues with creating PDF's (Acrobat 8.1.6. and 9.1.3) in Windows Server 2003 (32 bit) and Windows XP (64bit)

We have a report package that generates customised reports
We generate the PDF's by simply "printing" to the Adobe PDF printer
In Windows XP Pro (32 Bit) the report creates the PDF perfectly
In Windows Server 2003 (32 Bit) or Windows Xp Pro (64 Bit) the PDF is created 90% perfect but some of text has slipped on the page.
Whilst we are looking into the report writer (Dev Express) I would like to rule out any Acrobat issues.

I think it will work fine if you use the "Enterprise" authentication option. It may have dependencies on 32 bit components. So, that's why we must run IIS in 32 bit mode even though it's on a 64 bit OS. That means CR supports 64 bit OS systems only if you bring down other components that CR uses to 32 bit levels. I'm not sure if that is considered "full support".
We are trying to use the LDAP authentication option, but that tab is disabled. Other tabs such as Active Directory and WinNT are disabled as well. There maybe another component that we must bring down to 32 bit processing.
Is there a way to enable the LDAP authentication configuration tab?

•Site
•Domain
•Organizational Unit

Symantec antivirus Best practice for oracle database on windows server 2003

I have an oracle database server on windows server 2003 platform of version 10.2.0.4. what would be best practice of running symantec antivirus on that server as well as database file exclusions from scanning them.
My server had rebooted unexpectedly for many times. in event log i have id as 6008. what may be cause of it..?

Normally, you don't run a virus scanner on a database server because your database server isn't vulnerable to viruses. It's behind firewalls, people aren't reading mail on it, people aren't plugging thumb drives into it, etc. If you do decide that you need to run a virus scanner on a database server, at least exclude the Oracle data files from the scan. Oracle gets very unhappy if someone else tries to open its data files (or, worse, if someone opens a data file before it gets the chance to acquire exclusive access).

2. Did you clear the cached files in your browser post patching
3. Generally the first time you access the system it takes time but the consquent attempts should not take much time.

Hmm,
I think you intend to run such a configuration in production later on. My $0.02: don't even bother. Even if it works, it's not supported by Oracle as you say. The answer to your first SR will be: "We don't support this configuration" and you're really alone.

Here is an update:
I have renamed the 'symcjit.dll' file as per your note and starting the installation process again.
This time the oracle installer came up and tried to install the products.
I tried to install the client on my D drive (d:\oracle\ora81).
The source path was showing as 'drive letter:\oracle\oracle 8i\stage\products.jar'.
While loading the products information, I got an error message which stopped me going further in the installation process. Below is the error:
"Invalid Staging Area. There are no top level componenets for Windows NT available for install from this staging area. "

Error : Apache tomcat 5.5 not starting with windows server 2003 32 bits

I can not start Tomcat 5.5 installed and deployed from the Business Objects BI Edge 3.1.
BO installs normally, but Tomcat does not start.
I tried to start tomcat from the control panel -> administrative tools -> services. But also not start.

By default the BO install tomcat with:
Initial memory pool: 0 and
Maximum memory pool: 1024
I changed the settings in the Tomcat to:
Tomcat -> Tomcat configuration -> java>
Initial memory pool: 128 and
Maximum memory pool: 256
Then I accessed services.msc and start the Apache Tomcat.
