Incorrect number on my cell phone from Skype?

In trying to set up my account I put in the number that was on my cell phone #759-73, and it says that is an incorrect number??? Please check and see if I have two accounts and am using the wrong number or what is happening.

Let me add to my earlier response.   DO not even attempt to discuss this matter with comcast or their techs. They simply are unaware of the problem and can do nothing to fix it. Call Neustar at the number I gave you in ealrier post..  Tell them the problem and either have them delete your cellphone number from their data base or set the caller id to show city, state and your number.  Deletion is probably better. Tech at Neustar did this told it would take effect in two hours and the problem was gone in 5 minutes. I am sick and tired of disconnects, talking to techs at comcast who barely can speak english, mumble, one told me today to go to the website and disable call blocking from my cell then call  home and then reenable it after making the call.  LMAO!   Yeah, while driving down the road. This afternoon I got a call from a  rather arrogant tech who didn;t want to hear the problem, didn;t undertand the problem and tried to blame the problem on my cell service.  No problem when I call anyone outside of Comcast and it was corected once before .   So the problem is with your cell phone number listing at Neustar.  Since Comcast uses Neustar for their caller id numbers they should be be able to delete or correct entires but apparently cannot.   Good Luck, my days with comcast are limited.

    No, you cannot transfer a number (landline or mobile phone) to Skype.  Skype does not participate in number-portability programs, so you would have to select a number from whatever Skype has available for the country and area/city code you desire.

  • I Have Received Two New Defective DroidX Cell Phones From Verizon

    On Thursday, July 15, right after midnight I ordered the new DroidX Cell Phone from the Verizon Wireless Internet Website.
    I received the new DroidX Cell Phone on Friday, July 16.
    The DroidX worked perfectly except that it had Dead Pixels in only the Camera and Camcorder Applications.
    I then called Verizon Wireless and they sent me a new replacement Droidx Cell Phone which I received on Wednesday, July 28.
    It was great at the time since I received the new replacement DroidX Cell Phone seven days before the anticipated August 03 date.
    My new replacement DroidX Cell Phone has a very small dent like a impact hole on the back of the main unit.
    I noticed the dent as I was unpacking the new replacement DroidX Cell Phone.
    I did not even activate the new replacement Droidx Cell Phone since I noticed the dent right away.
    I was assured by Verizon Wireless that I was to receive a new replacement DroidX cell phone.
    I then called Verizon Wireless and they are now going to send a another new replacement DroidX Cell Phone which they said I would receive the earliest by August 05.
    I do not know how a new replacement DroidX Cell Phone can have a dent on back side if it is totally brand new and not refurbished, although Verizon Wireless assued me agian that they are only sending out new replacement DroidX Cell Phones at this time.

    I take it that the device came in the usual brown box, not in a usual commercial designed box, if so I would say there is a very good chance that it was a referb unit... This is exactly why I decided to wait when they wanted to send me out a replacement when I called about the volume level on my device because I have a fully functional unit with only that low volume issue and I can live with the issue until the fix with a update or get some replacements in the store for a exchange.
    I really dont want to give up a brand new device to possibly have a referb replacement, a coworker bought a phone through another carrier and the phone messed up and they reported that they would send out a new one since the device was only a week old, but he got the NEW ONE?? the device still has someones information in it. You really dont have any way to know if the device is a refeb or new one when they all come in the plain brown box.
    And if you think about the number of individuals that reported that CS sent them a replacement for one reason or another, you know that they are not short on used units...

    No this is not possible.
    But you could use the iPhone Simulator of Xcode if you have access to an Mac. Like the name explains, it simulates an iPhone on an Mac, but you cannot use all standard apps

    I have a couple of recommendations for you here.
    First if you havent already, I would use the iPhone Troubleshooting Assistant found here http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/phone/ to attempt to resolve the issue.
    Steps one, three, and five to be exact. Here is step 1 to get you started on that:
    Restart iPhone
    To restart iPhone, first turn iPhone off by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button until a red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider and iPhone will turn off after a few moments.
    Next, turn iPhone on by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
    Is iPhone not responding? To reset iPhone, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least 10 seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    If your device does not turn on or displays a red battery icon, try recharging next.
    If the issue persists then I recommend resetting the iPhone:
    Resetting your device
    Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

    I have an odd sort of question that I am hoping for some help on.  My wife's uncle recently passed away and we are now in possession of his old cell phone.  He was slightly estranged from the family and didn't share a lot of information so we currently have no idea whether this phone is prepaid or if it uses a service provider.  We would like to find out who the provider is, if there is one, so that we can cancel service, but are not sure how to go about doing this.  We have been unable to find any information on his phone as of yet.  Is there any way that this information can be found?

  • Xact XVP640 USB voip phone from Skype 1.0

    I went to the Xact website to download driver software, but its not working with newer versions of skype.
    can you please hand me an iso cd rom image for all the software that came with the Xact xvp640?
    The newer version of Skyp is not compatible with this usb phone, and the new version of Skype keeps locking up the computer here, lagging and won't stop messing up.
    I don't need video chat, txt messaging and all that, just Skype 1.0 the skybee driver can't even tell the phone is plugged in from the newer driver for the unit.
    an iso cd rom image for the Xact xvp640 would be appreciated, including the device driver and skype release that was on the cd rom. Thanks,
    The Skype 5.0 is terrible, and does not work properly on this new computer.

    A few days after I originally posted this and I have just solved the problem, nothing to do with the iMac or the VOIP phone.
    I figured out that I needed to do some more configuration to the router I received from my new ISP in order to disable a hidden SIP setting hat otherwise prevents VOIP from working properly.

    I just purchased a Nokia 6102i from Cingular after their sales lady said the phone worked with iSync. I told her I didn't see the model listed on the Apple iSync supported phones web page, but she said not to worry. Well, the phone just arrived and when I tried to iSync it with my Address Book, I'm getting an iSync window saying: "This device is not supported by ISnyc."
    No big deal, I'll just return the phone, but next attempt, I want to get a model from Cingular that works well with iSync. Can anyone advise me? Perhaps a Razor, but what I might really want is a smart phone.

    I can answer the last part of that question. I'm disappointed the Nokia 6102i will not transmit photos via bluetooth to my Mac. iSyncing addresses and calendar works like a champ, just not sending photos (and I suppose other files) from the phone. However, on my MBP, I can open up the Bluetooth File Exchange program and both get the 6102i pics, as well as send photos to the phone. So, not bad, there is a work around.

    I closed my account with sprint in the US when i recently moved out of the country. 
    My family noticed the number still comes up on caller ID when I called them with Skype. 
    Is there anyway I can keep this number and it can be used to ring my skype account.

    Create separate User Logons for each person using the computer. Each logon has it's own Apple ID and iCloud ID signed on separately for that user.

    What can this be??? We can call Canada -- California and scads of other places.  But our own Verizon WIreless phones??? NADA!!!

    can you keep your same number if you buy " lets say a 169.00$ deal for a Iphone 4S"(pre paid). can you just have it shipped and then have a third party retailer activate it for you? with the existing number you have?

    Open Photobooth App.  It should be on the bottom of the window.  Drag a copy out to the desktop.
