Incorrect output scaling on Officejet 7612

I bought this printer last weekend and it has installed fine.  I have updated the drivers and it will both print and scan.  But I have found that the print output is incorrectly scaled.  I have a PDF document that contains a 12" line that is printed only 11.6" long.  The problem is the same both horizontally and vertically.  I can fix the problem by setting the print scaling in the Adobe Reader to 103.9%.I had planned to use this printer for my landscape designs but without an accurate output, the printer won't be acceptable and will need to be returned. My plans are generated using Vectorworks and the same problem occurs there so I know this is not an Adobe problem.

The paper type does not matter. The size of the paper does not matter. Choosing borderless or not does not matter. Ditto for margins. I tried it any number of ways and the scaling still came out wrong.
I set up a layout with the certificate at a specific size and to print on letter sized paper. I saved the document as a PDF and printed out a sample of it where I work, in this case, on a Ricoh laser printer. It came off that printer scaled to the proper size with nothing cut off. Is there an understandable reason that it would not print out at that same correct size, on an 8.5 X 11 sheet at home on this color inkjet? I used both Acrobat Reader and Acrobat Pro, and it still was not correct. I actually had to "fudge" the percentage at the Acrobat Pro stage to even get a print I could use! Even it wasn't an accurate size.
If there is a solution, I want to know. If this is an issue that hasn't been resolved, it urgently needs to be, for the sake if anyone who spends money on HP printers in the future, and expects to complete a project with accurate results, without hacking.  Hacking is not a solution, it is a disappointing workaround.
If it's a driver issue, it should be fixed. If a bug that was not fixed, has it been fixed since? Do HP's new printers all do the same thing or are some printing properly to scale and others not ? Please inform me what HP's expectation is for this particular model. Finding that this machine cannot print properly is not acceptable and the product should either be fixed or discontinued.

Hello All, I have been trying for DAYS to print 11x17 on my new HP Officejet 7612 Wide Format Printer and to NO avail. I have uninstalled and reinstalled driver after driver and nothing has worked. I have seen on other posts that others with Windows 8 are experiencing the same issue.                               When on the print screen, 8.5x13 is the largest it will allow me to print. Others have had the same issue. (See Link Below)

Could someone PLEASE tell me why Windows 8 OS is so horrible. Just kidding, I just need to know how to get this driver to give me the option to print 11x17 on my WIDE FORMAT printer. Otherwise, this HP Officejet 7612 is going back to the store. Thanks in Advance,JessTandi

Hello JessTandi, Welcome to the HP Forums.  I see that you are having an issue when attempting to print on 11x17 paper. What is the software or printing program you are using when attempting to print on this size?  Please make sure the size is set in the software and on the printing preferences. We can run the HP Print and Scan Doctor just in case there is an issue with the software. Please feel free to write me back if you have any other questions.   Cheers,

    Hi:
We actually are using SRM v. 5, and we detected an intermiteng error in SM21, it says
       <b>Terminal type 202: Incorrect output destination/message type TERM</b>
It is generated at Client 000 and relates to program BBP_BGRD_APPROVAL. The actual output of the log is described:

We were looking for some information on SAP Notes and forums, but we didn't find any useful info.
Does any one know what is this error about? We will appreciate any comments.
                        Thanks in advance, Abrahamdelgdaov

    Hi,
This kind of error message usually arises if a program wants to send
data to the partner program which will be identified via the
conversation ID, but this conversation ID is not in the list of
    active RFC links.
This always happens when one of the two partner programs finishes the
conversation and informs the remaining partner program.
Also included in this information is that the gateway already deletes
the communication entry in the communcication table and conveys the
    message to the partner program.
This partner program in turn accepts the message but still wants to
send a receipt or something else to the program that is already finished
Another send after you've received the close of the connection is not
    allowed.
Therefore the messages you are seeing in the syslog are definitely ha
rmless because even if the send would go through, the receiver is not
    able to receive the message.
Check if there are any other network related errors in the system.
    Regards,
    Marcelo

  • Officejet 7612 Wide Format e-All-in-One

Hi, my printer shows a message wireless communications has been disabled, and I cannot access the wireless setup wizard,  can someone help me to fix this.
    Thank you

Hello @Grant2484  Welcome to the HP Forums
I read about how you cannot access the Wireless Setup Wizard on your Officejet 7612, and I would like to help you!
I would either suggest trying to restore the Network Defaults, or restore the printer itself to Factory Defaults. Definitely try restoring the network defaults first.
Select Setup, Network, Restore Network Defaults, Yes
Select Setup, Tools, Restore Factory Defaults, Restart the printer and try running the Wireless Setup Wizard again from the Network Menu.
Let me know what happens when you try to connect to your network again!

  • Officejet 7612 E All in one printer will not wake up from sleep mode or powersave

We cannot get a Officejet 7612 to wake up from sleep mode or powersave.  I have tried logging into the web interface but I am only able to delay sleep mode up to 15 minutes.  I need to shut this off or have the issue fixed.  The only way to use the device is to unplug the power cord and plug it back in.  The printer does not even respond to the power button.

    Hello,
Please try the  below mentioned steps... Firstly print an network configuration page by touching the Setup > wireless Menu > Wireless Settings > Display Network Configuration > Print info [Ok] -type in the printer's ip in address bar of your browser ( Internet explorer or firefox or chrome ), which would display printer inforamtion. click on Network Menu ,
click Network on Left, of the window.
click on Network Address (IP), the info will be displayed on the right side. - by default the selection will be on Automatic IP.- click on Manual IP and then type in the following..
printer's ip address in "Manual IP address"
subnet mask using the printed report in "Manual Subnet Mask"
default gateway using printer report in "Manual Default Gateway" Now click Apply. Wait untill the settigns are applied.-After which, power Off the Printer.
    -Restart the PC.
-Power On the printer.  Hopefully the issue should be resolved.

  • HP OfficeJet 7612 - Can't scan on OS X Yosemite

Hi, i am having trouble connecting a HP OfficeJet 7612 to a Macbook Air running OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 (14C109).
When searching for printers through the HP Utility setup or just by adding a printer it does not show in the list of available printers.
I can add the printer by IP address but i can only print to it. It says at the bottom of the window  "Please note: An IP connection is supported. However, only the print feature will work properly."
The printer is connected to the router via ethernet and the Macbook is connected to the router via Wifi.
    Things i have tried already:
Uninstalling the driver, printer and software with the HP Uninstaller, this includes a "Reset printing system…"
Downloading and installing the latest drivers and software from the HP website.
    Repairing Disk Permissions.
In EWS chaning the Bonjour Highest Priority Service to 9100 Printing.
Any help would be really appreicated thanks!

    Hi @JWest28
Based on what you have described, I don't feel the issue is related to the software or Mac, instead, I have a feeling the issue is related to the network.  Specifically, the Bonjour protocol or the IP setting.
    Please disable the IPv6 on from the front panel of the printer with the following instructions;
Scroll to the second screen of the home menu
    Touch Setup
    Choose Network Setup
    Touch Advanced Settings
In the IPv6 option, choose 'Off'
If the issue persists, let's leave the router on and unplug the power cable (NOTE: Do not reset the router.),  then do the same with the printer, and shut down the computer. After a full minute, plug the router back in, wait for it to fully power up, then plug the printer back in and wait for the wireless light to become solid. Once both the router and printer are on, go ahead and turn the computer back on. Doing this will refresh the network connection.
Also, make sure that your router can forward Bonjour packets, and then restart the Apple device. Follow these steps to make sure that your router can forward Bonjour packets, and then turn the Apple device off and on.
Step 1: Make sure that your router can forward Bonjour packets. Not all wireless routers support Bonjour or all of Bonjour's features. Since Bonjour is the default method for discovering printers on a network, you must first make sure that your wireless router supports Bonjour.
Check the specifications or support documentation for your router, or contact the router manufacturer, to make sure that your router supports Bonjour. It must also support forwarding Bonjour packets.
If your router supports Bonjour, continue to the next solution in this document.
If your router does not support Bonjour, contact the router manufacturer for options. Alternatively, you can work around the issue by adding the printer with the printer IP address.

  • Officejet 7612 cartridge stuck

Officejet 7612 Cartridge stuck so carrier won't move. No paper jam. Am suspecting that one of the ink cartridge clicked out ... and is causing the blockage -- ie carrier can't move... No info in manual. No info on website. Telephone support -- over 1 hr 34 minute wait and eventually cancelled the call. I would like HP to stand behind their products. sdcinc

Hello,  Is the carriage stuck on far right in the printer ? If yes,Ensure the printer is ON, try moveing the carrriage ( which holds the cartridge ) from right to left slowly. If it does not move, then call HP Tech Support as the printer has to be serviced in this kind of a situation. Please call HP Tech Support for further assistance.

  • HP Officejet 7612 won't connect wirelessly since Windows 10 update

Update: I have the IP Address settled. I actually think it isn't a wireless problem... because the blue light is on the wireless symbol on the printer. When I get to the install network printer stage, it takes ages, and then says "unsuccessful network installation" so that is the real problem. Whether that also means the wireless connection between the printer and the computer is not established I am unclear. So hope someone can help  Thanks Selene

Hi I am stuck. When I first set up my HP Officejet 7612 on the same computer I am using now, everything went fine. I set the printer to print wirelessly and it worked great. I didn't use the printer for a week. Then I upgraded to the free Windows 10. Was running Windows 8. The computer- laptop is only 7 months old. Today, day two of operating Windows 10, the printer won't print wirelessly. The print window came up as if I was sending a fax, and there was no HP Officejet 7612 in the drop down menu of printers, just the Fax HP Officejet 7612. Problem solving done to date:Deleted HP software  off laptop and reinstalled everything. Still on wireless connection.Re-set printer to default settings and re-set up wireless on printer using the wizzard. Still no wireless connection.Rebooted internet. Didn't help.Printed HP Network Configuration Page and noted IPv4 IP Address was different on page one to page two. Tried 'other' IP Address, system told me that definitely was wrong.Retired original IP address - no improvement. In the middle of all this trouble shooting, I realised that the initial IP address that the printer gave me at the very beginning of this problem was one digit different to what it gave me tonight when I sat down to try and fix this issue. I am about to try the this discovered IP address. But if anyone can help, I would really appreciate your assistance. I am just stabing in the dark now. Thank you for your time. Selene

  • Smu 236 incorrect output

    Hi
I am using a Kiethly 236 SMU to measure IVs this normally works fine, but appears to have an intermittent fault.
Sometimes when performing a series of measurements the first outputted current file is correct, however all subsequent files give the same dataset with a random offset. Restarting the pc seems to resolve the issue.
I have recently discovered that a colleague has been altering the pc date and time settings, could this somehow account for the incorrect data?
Any help or ideas would be gratefully received.
    Thanks

What programming environment are you using?
I don't beleive the time and date have soemthing to do with this but you mention a current file. Is that file still correct or is there no change when a new file should be selected.
If you are programming in LabVIEW add the program so we can see what is going on.
    greetings from the Netherlands

    Is it a limit?
    Or is it a bug?

  • Incorrect output formatting when report send directly to printer

    Hi All,
We have developed a report in report 6 and initially configured to send output to file and then open in notepad and then send this output to dot matrix printer. In this case the output prints correctly. Now we want to send this putput directly to laser printer but when we send this output to laser printer extara baln line are printing and due to this output is printing on two pages which we previously prinig on one page which is the requiremnt. Can anyone help me to identify what wrong is going?

    Hi,
there is a reports forum where this question is handled best. Though Forms is the initiator of Reports, it has nothing to do with the formatting.
