Incorrect password message

Suddenly today (not sure what I've done) I am recieving the following message on my IPOD. "Cannot send mail. The user name or password for this "Shaw" account is incorrect". I have now had to reset my Apple ID as well.
How do I reset the passord for the mail server so I can send and receive on my IPOD? I can send and recieve on my IPAD and my HP (all the same email account). Also, can I set my email password on my IPOD to make it the same as my Apple ID?
Thank you in advance,
Elf

- Go to Settings>Mail>the Show account and delete the old passwar and enter the updated password.the password.
- However, you have to consult Shaw's Help to determine how to change the password with Shaw.

You can not create an iCloud account on a PC, you may create one on an iPad, iPhone or a Mac

I'm sorry you're having issues with your e-mail account on your phone Rusty1112. Let's figure out what's going on. First, please try deleting account/information again and then restart phone. When phone is back on, try adding e-mail account again, and be sure you're entering exactly as you set up, meaning its case-sensitive. If you're still getting same error, please let us know and let us know what e-mail account it is, Yahoo, AOL, MSN, etc.

Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tends to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
    Any error messages?
    Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • I can not sign in to my live mail and every time I get the" incorrect password " message.

Hi, I am trying to open my live mail but every time get this message "incorrect password please sign in again". I will appreciate if anyone knows the answer to this.thanks

    Hello there, Ruby_01.
Being able to to send and receive email is definitely an important feature of the iPhone.  The following Knowledge Base article provides some great steps for troubleshooting your issue:
iOS: Unable to send or receive email
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3899
    Particularly:
If you are unable to send or receive email, try the following steps:
    Restart the iOS device.
Tap Safari and attempt to load a webpage to ensure that the device has Internet access. If you're unable to load a webpage, try the Wi-Fi assistant.
    Try an alternative Internet connection.
If your email is provided by your Internet provider, try connecting from the home network.
If your iOS device has an active cellular data plan, try to disable Wi-Fi:  TapSettings > Wi-Fi and turn off Wi-Fi.
If not, try a different Wi-Fi network.
Log in to your email provider's website to ensure that the account is active and the password is correct.
Delete the account from Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and then add the email account again on the iOS device.
If you're still unable to send or receive email, contact your email provider and verify the account settings are correct. You will need to gather this information (PDF).
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • Incorrect password message when it is not

I tutor an older lady with a fairly new iPad.  She originally had a Tiscali email address and the outgoing server stopped working so she could not send emails. Her son then set up a Gmail account and tried to reset the Apple ID; this was not done correctly and messed up the iPad. I reset it up with a new Yahoo email.  I set it all up correctly and  created a new Apple ID and password which there was an email confirming. This was assisted by an Apple support phone call so I know it was all done correctly. When we tried to update an App this morning iTunes had reverted to an old gmail ID, for which she has lost the Apple password. I cannot understand why it has gone back to this.  Also, I changed the ID to the new yahoo one and checked on the Apple ID web site that her Yahoo ID was in and correct.  ( logged into messages, Facectime, iTunes etc) I then tried again and the same 'Incorrect password; came up so I reset with a new password; all correctly and confirmed via an ID; the App update STILL would not work!  I then updated the iOS to 8.1.1. 2 which effectively does a hard reboot; still no luck! Still no working Apple password. I am worried about this as a non working Apple password is going to be a major issue at some point.  Where else can I check what ID is where and how can I stop this problem?

If I understand correctly then she originally had a Tiscali email address which was on her iTunes account, and her son then changed it to have a gmail address (or are they two different iTunes accounts ?), and you then created another iTunes account with a Yahoo email address. Is that correct ?
By 'I changed the ID to the new yahoo one' do you mean that is the account that is currently logged in in Settings > iTunes & App Stores on the iPad ? And since changing the account's password have you logged out of the account on the iPad by tapping on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Stores and then logged back in so as to 'refresh' the account on it ?
If the app that has the update was originally downloaded by the old account (the Tiscali/gmail account) then only that account can download the update to that app - all apps (and any other content from the store) are tied to the account that downloaded them.
If that is the case and she can't remember the password for the old account then can get that account's password reset via http://iforgot.apple.com ?

  • Why am I getting an incorrect password message

First I was getting a message that my apple id had been disabled. Now it's telling me my password is incorrect, and I can't send or receive email

    Hi
Try logging on to AIM on port 443 rather than port 5190.
Go to IChat in the menu bar > Preferences > Accounts.
Log out of AIM and then use the Server Settings tab
    Set the port to 443.
    Log back in again.

  • Incorrect password message iweb

When i want to publish my site to ipage, i get the message that my password is incorrect. I have checked it many times and it is the correct password. Is this a problem from iweb or my hosting provider ipage. (according to them everything is correct!)

Deleting preferences and emptying cache are usually my two first steps. Have you tried that?
I next call myself a few names as I recognize that I am using my site log in password for the ftp password, which are different.
Other than that I don't have much constructive to offer, other than to say your post gave me a chance to look at iPage on the web, never having heard of it before. Wow, competition is really heating up out there for web site hosts. The costs are coming down and a lot is being offered.
I use a different place and am very well satisfied with them, but still, people who gripe about losing mobileme need to look at what is being offered for less money and more options.

  • Upgrade to Mobility Service causes "incorrect password" messages

After upgrading to Mobility Service a couple days ago, some users
suddenly can't sync mail on some of their devices. The problem device
will constantly prompt for a password, but then say it's incorrect (when
it definitely is not). Same user will have a second device that's
    ticking along without a problem.
Not restricted to users with multiple devices, though - a few who have
only one device experienced the error.
I'm unfortunately pretty user-level, but will appreciate any tips on
what to look at & how to solve.

I have verified that in my case the following process gets the
problematic device working again (I add users to Mobility server via
ldap. Only iPhones and iPads have been problems for us this time.):
Remove the user from the ldap group and poll for users on mobility server
Add user back to ldap group, re-poll for users on mobility server
Any of that user's devices that were working before will automatically
show up, authenticate, and continue working
The user's problem devices will prompt "Cannot Verify Server Identity"
User can press "Continue" at that prompt, and mail will begin working

  • Jetpack "Incorrect Password" message

I have an iphone 5c that stopped connecting to my Verizon Jetpack today.  It's worked fine to this point and all other devices I own (ipads, another iphone, etc) all still connet to the Jetpack just fine.  The 5c is getting a message saying I'm entering an invalid password, but it's definitely the correct password (using the same on other devices that are connecting fine).  What do I do?

If the Jetpack is working with everything else then the iPhone’s Jetpack profile is at fault. Delete the existing Jetpack’s profile on the iPhone, and reconnect to the Jetpack to create a new profile that will force you to input the password again.

  • I have a confirmed, password, but when I try to sign a pdf, I get an "Incorrect password" message.

I recently changed my Adobe reader password. When I try to sign a PDF, I am told my password is incorrect. How can i fix this so I can sign documents?

Adobe Reader doesn’t have a password. Your digital signature may. If you are having an issue with the password, you will need to create a new digital signature.

  • Incorrect password message - email accounts

I have a replacement Blackberry while mine is in getting repaired. When I tried to activate the email account, it says that the password is incorrect. I have changed the password using my computer and my phone (options, device, blackberry id). I can log into my account on the Blackberry website using the updated password but when I try to activate the email account with the password it says incorrect. I have checked the box to show the password so I know that the password has been entered correctly. I've tried about 5 times.
    Looking forward to a response.

Are you trying to enter your BIS password, or just your password for that individual address?
Try entering your information here, from your device browser.
    www.blackberry.com/integrate
If you are still getting an password error, then you may want to give your carrier a call and ask them to reset your BIS password. Your carrier will be able to help you.

  • ICloud "Incorrect Password" messages for an old unused email account.

Every several minutes I get a prompt on my display asking me for the password for an iCloud account for an email account I do not use anymore. the prompt interrupts anything else I am doing. I've tried deleting the account and restarting. The prompt persists.
Any ideas? My current iCloud account is linked to a different, newer email account.
    Thanks in advance,

Is this something that BB is completely unable to do? Other than not being able to get the old email account off the phone, I really like it....
