Incorrect preview in filmstrip mode

My apologies if this has been discussed before. I have searched and not found anything relevant.
Sometime after switching to high quality previews (see the Advanced section of the Preferences dialog), this started happening. When selecting a thumbnail in the filmstrip, sometimes a totally wrong image comes up in the preview window. It happens randomly and intermittently, but once it selects a wrong image, it will always display that image for that thumbnail. Please see the following for an example.

The image chosen is not even in the folder open in Bridge. It is always an image that I have looked at at some point in recent months, but I may have deleted it in the interim. Suspecting the cache, I've purged it, compacted it, exited Bridge, rebooted and gone back in. Yet the problem continues.
Has anyone else see this? Does anyone have any suggestions?
Windows XP, AMD Athlon 6000X2, 4GB RAM, three hard drives totaling about 1TB, dual 1793x1344 monitors.

I had noticed that thread before, but it starts out talking about missing edits, so I didn't catch the connection. Further down, though, it does describe my symptoms, so I'll post any further comments on that thread. Unfortunately it doesn't offer any solutions.

Problem with FMR playback in filmstrip -mode

Is it normal when I try to playback full motion recording in filmstrip mode with timeline it plays fine, but when I pause playback (for eg pressing space) playback position reverts back to frame 0 aka begining. This makes adding captions very time consuming as you need to drag timeline with mouse to see if the caption boxes aling with the recording.
Using captivate 4 and 5 with latest updates.

If you preview a slide (CP5) with F3 (Playback slide) and pause at at certain point (with F3 or Space) the playhead will stay there, you can align objects to the playhead with CTRL-L. That is the way I'm synchronizing audio with objects. During this kind of 'playback' no SWF is created as is the case with all the other Preview modes. You can also scrub, drag the playhead if you want. Some shortcuts are available as well. I blogged once about the functionalities of the Timeline:

I do not understand what you mean by Playback with Filmstrip? Are you talking about the other Preview modes? Then a SWF is created as preview, and you will not be able to stop the Playhead somewhere.

mx:Image no image preview in Design Mode

Inside my Flash Builder (4.01) AIR project, the image preview in design mode for the mx:Image component does not show the image set with the source attribute.
This seems to be a project specific problem. When I create a new project , insert mx:image and set the source to an image, the image is previewed just fine. I also get a possible related error saying : "Design mode could not load swiz-framework-1.0.0-RC1.swc. It may be incompatible with this SDK, or invalid. (DesignAssetLoader.CompleteTimeout)"
This error pops up in several google searches and is by some regarded as an sdk bug, so I dont know the relevance here.
This happens in various flavours of the Flex SDK (4.0/4.1 latest versions).

Ok, I found out it has definitively something to do with the "Design mode could not load swiz-framework-1.0.0-RC1.swc. It may be incompatible with this SDK, or invalid. (DesignAssetLoader.CompleteTimeout)" warning. This somehow affects the loading of the mx:Image.
Recompiling the SWC might work with the swiz swc, but there are more swc's giving this error like the google maps swc which does not have the source avalable freely.
This is a real pain as I like to use a mockup image in Design Mode to place components exactly as provided by the design team.

Adobe CS3 Extended - problem w Bridge - picture displayed wrong in Horrizontal Filmstrip mode

Recently started have problems with Adobe Bridge (CS3 Extended) after it did an automatic update from Adobe for my CS3. The problem is that the panel where the picture appears in "Horrizontal Filmstrip" is now positioned to the far right - partially off the screen; plus, whatever action done previously is showing through the panel area where the picture should have been. Doing "refresh" does not help.
Tried to reinstall the whole program but the problem did not go away. Then uninstalled the whole Adobe CS3 suite (which includes Bridge); then reloaded the probram; and, then the problem went away. As soon as I downloaded the updates from Adobe again, the problem reappeared. Anyone no what to do?

Did you try to reset the preferences by holding down the ctrl key and starting Bridge? You will get a reset window, choose all 3 options.
A re-install will not affect this file so if contaminated before it will be contaminated after.
Also, make sure you have the latest video driver, as this affects the filmstrip mode.

Is there a way to have stack numbers show up in filmstrip mode?

I use filmstrip mode more than grid mode because I like the larger image. However, stack numbers don't show up (for me) in film strip mode. When I view stacks in Bridge, the number is very prevalent and easily seen in filmstrip mode.
Am I missing a setting somewhere?

Scroll bar trouble in filmstrip mode

In horizontal filmstrip mode (Bridge 2.1.0.100), the right end of the horizontal scroll bar is not visible. If I make the Bridge window smaller than full screen, I can drag the slider out of sight beyond the right side of the Bridge window, but not far enough to see all the files. The right side of the Bridge window appears to be otherwise normal.
What's happening?

I seem to have fixed it. I opened the pop-out menu associated with the filmstrip button(#1)in the lower-right-hand corner of the window and re-selected Horizontal Filmstrip. That fixed the scroll bar (displayed the right edge of it). I couldn't increase the screen resolution because I was already at the native resolution for the (flat-panel) monitor. When I had the Bridge window open to less than screen size, it was very strange to drag the scroll bar outside the Bridge window where it disappeared. I could move it even though I couldn't see it.

Have recently lost my star ratings on my files while in Filmstrip mode and the marker that showed that the file had been edited has disappeared ( the little half moon things on the upper right side of the photo... Please help. Im assuming it is a setting but dont know which one

Were they raw images? Did you move them from one folder to another?
A raw image from a Canon or Nikon or other cameras has a raw image that cannot store any changes you make to your image. Rather, ACR creates a side-car file that must be in the same folder as the images. You will see your file and the sidecar so (for example) a cannon image might be _MG_3404.CR2 and the sidecar file would be _MG_3404.XMP. As long as those two are in the same folder, everything is great. Until you move one or the other from the folder. Then Bridge, ACR, or PS doesn't know what to do because there are no clues for the original image to KNOW that a sidecar file exists. If you still have the sidecar files, simply rejoining the two into the same folder will sove the problem.
One easy resolution to this is to convert the original image from the original fomat to a DNG. There are MANY MANY benefits to this (and no liabiliities) but for your circumstances, the sidecar file is stored in the DNG. Your original raw image is also stored within this DNG so they cannot be separated.
There are many ways to convert your images to DNG, one is during the original downloading: if you are using Bridge's Photo Downloader, there is an option to convert them to DNG during downloading. That's what I always do. After the fact conversion can be done using Adobe's DNG Converter.

Why does f12(preview in browser mode) not render the page correctly?

Why does f12(preview in browser mode) not render the page correctly? Instead when i go to the main or original file, it renders properly? It is drriving me nuts! HAHA! Can anyone help? mainly CSS problem, div overlapping but when viewing from original file on browser not through F12, it renders correctly. CS5.5 DW. Thanks!

just that one of it is a f12 (preview in browser) while the other one is going to the directory and clicking the html page by itself.
F12 is simply a hot key that launches your browser.
The only thing I can think of to explain this is that you have a local site folder someplace in addition to a testing server site.
When you hit preview, your testing server on the localhost/ is being called up in the browser.
When you open the HTML page directly, you're seeing the local site file with unparsed data.
Try disabling your Testing Server in Sites > Manage sites > Edit...

Preview and design mode issues

I would like to report a couple of glitches in Muse.
Problem #1:
I had a pair of photos that I added some text with in a separate text box. I had problems with alignment, so I put the photos into a slideshow with the text:
I hit enter to space everything out properly, and a portion of the text moves above where I want it, and overlaps existing text, and the column shrinks:
If I hit enter again, then delete, the text moves back to where I want it to go.
Problem #2:
On occasion, when I preview a page I am designing, it looks jumbled with text in places I never put it and opacity is reduced, like it's under layers. I deleted all text on the page and re-previewed with no difference in how it appeared, text still jumbled and out of place with text I just deleted. I revert to last saved and luckily that fixes it, but it sets me back a few steps. I didn't save any screen shots from that fiasco, but I did with the next one that occurred:
in Design mode I added the red links on the left of the Home page like this:
Preview showed a mess with the text I have on the master page like this, no links, and nav tabs placed above everything:
I have sent this to Adobe for a response with my export file and screen shots and haven't heard anything back yet.
Please advise.

I made some changes to the "Animal Facts" page,
Saved it, Exported it, then uploaded it to my server.
What is shown in "Plan mode" is consistent with what I have designed, but I can't get it
to publish that way:
Now the changes that I made aren't showing up in the Firefox preview when exported, the Firefox view once published, or the preview within Muse.
Further the screen that shows up I can't find on the "Design mode" to change or delete it:

LR Does not use 1:1 previews in Develop mode?

LR2 and LR2.1 are still terribly sluggish for me.
My current example is I'm just trying to flip through photos and blanket paste some copied settings across the majority of a 1900 photo wedding.
It's taken about 6 hours to flip through ~1000 photos... it's an outdoor wedding and the light was good... in LR1 I could typically edit 200-300 photos per hour... now I'm finding I get 150-200 at best, but more like 100 an hour... This seems to be primarily due to waiting on the "Loading..." and sometimes just plain latency between clicking on one photo from another. I should be getting FASTER at using LR over time... not slower.
Task Manager says LR2 is using about 900MB of memory and about 65-70% of the CPU(s) when it's actively working... right now while I write you this it's not using any CPU (which I would assume is the correct behavior.)
This is a 64-bit Vista Ultimate system on an Intel Core 2 Duo 3.16Ghz with 8GB of RAM and 10k RPM WD Raptor drives.
Even with pre-rendering 1:1 previews on import (with the catalog and previews on the 10k RPM drives) I still have a 5+ second lag between switching photos in develop mode.
Can anybody confirm that previews are only used in Library mode and the actual image is always rendered from the source file when using Develop?
That's what I'm starting to suspect the actual behavior is LR is...

You can go into catalog settings and change your preview settings to 1024 size and quality low, then reoptimize, and you will see approx a 10-15% boost in speed using LR
If all you are doing is applying presets any little bit will help.

Can't browse through pdf in Preview's slideshow mode

Hi!
I've been waiting for this issue to be fixed since Leopard was introduced but even at 10.5.3 nothing has happened.
When opening a multipaged pdf in Preview and going into slideshow mode (CommandshiftS), the next and previous buttons doesn't work. If you activate the "Index sheet" mode and the directly deactivate it again, the buttons work and I can browse through the pages of the pdf. This means that the functionality works but not without doing the Index sheet-trick. It's quite annoying to be having to do this every time I want to browse an e-book.
Has anybody got any ideas on how to fix this or is it a bug that should be fixed in 10.5.4?

I think I should've been more clear in my post. I'm used to using the arrow keys on my keyboard for flicking through the pages of the pdf and this doesn't work when entering slideshow-mode, it used to work in Tiger.
Your solution is similar to the "Index"-sheet thing I used to do. When you hit the play-button you can't immediately start browsing the pdf, you have to wait until the second page loads, right? After that the arrows are working as they should, I think this behaviour should be initiated immediately upon entering the slideshow-mode.

When I place SVG files in Muse the appear squashed on the Y Axis. The size of the bounding box is correct but the preview in Design view and Preview View are incorrect. When viewed in a browser all is normal.
This makes it difficult to design and place objects with any accuracy. Is there a setting somewhere that I have missed?

No Previews in standalone mode

If I have understood it correctly it is possible in Aperture 1.5 to have the Library with all the pictures in an external hard drive and at the same time have access to the Previews of the pictures if the hard drive is connected to the computer.
In my case I have a MBP to which I have a hard drive connected with my Library. Previews have also been created by Aperture (have seen the process in the task list and it is possible to drag and drop an image to another an iLife application). However, when I disconnect the hard drive and start up Aperture there are no Preview to be found.
What am I doing wrong?

I've experience no such problem with Push access and Push notifications selected for 3rd party apps that support/provide Push notifications when my iPhone is asleep.
Have you tried any of the troubleshooting steps which in order are power your iPhone off and on, an iPhone reset, which is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release - ignoring the slide to turn off prompt when doing so? An iPhone reset does not affect and data or settings.
Restoring your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup, and restoring your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup.

Lightroom: Can not exit/switch Full Screen Preview (F Key) mode (LR Mac)

since upgrading to LR 5.4 I'm not able to toggle / switch / exit the "F-Mode" (Full-Screen) back to the "G-Mode" (Grid-Mode).
Only restarting works, but that's no way.
I've tried everything which is mentioned in this link: Click but nothing works.
Unfortunately I can not find any DL-Link to a previous version.
ANY (way to solve or DL-Link for 5.x) help is really apreciated!

Preview full screen mode/slideshow is great, except one thing

As an owner of a 13 inch screen Macbook Air, I love the full screen slideshow mode. It's especially cool to page through a PDF with the three-fingered side swipe motion. But one annoyance is that every time I go into full screen mode with a PDF, I have to click the Maximize Size icon. Is there any way to set a preference to maximize automatically when entering full screen mode? If this isn't possible, I hope this becomes a feature soon.

I don't know, since I rarely use it w/19" monitor, but you can file an enhancement report (or bug report) with Apple, via its Bug Reporter system. Join the Apple Developer Connection (ADC)—it's free and available for all Mac users and gets you a look at some development software. Since you already have an Apple username/ID, use that. Once a member, go to Apple BugReporter and file your bug report/enhancement request. You'll get a get a Bug (ER) ID number; thus, starting a dialog directly with engineering.
