Incorrect report output

Dear Friends,
I am trying to export a report to excel. Earlier i used Excel 2003 version. The report used to export correctly in excel.
However, i have recently switched over to Excel 2007 version. Some of the columns such as date, etc do not get converted properly in to excel.
This results in a manual correction of the excel file which is time consuming. Please suggest an alternative.

Discoverer report - Output from Discoverer plus is not the same as Discoverer desktop

As a part of Upgrade project we are migrating the discoverer reports from 11i (11.5.10.2) to R12 (12.1.3) .After migrating to R12, for a custom discoverer report the output given by discoverer desktop is correct (24 rows for a scenario). But the report output from Discoverer plus does not show the credit transactions (2 rows). The output from Discoverer plus shows only 22 rows (24 - 2), which is incorrect. The query is the same in Discoverer desktop and Discoverer plus.
Please let me know why these transactions that are appearing when the report is run from discoverer desktop are not appearing in discoverer plus. Is there any setup in discoverer plus for this?

Pretty hard to answer a question like this. Best bet would be to copy the existing discoverer plus book and start removing conditions, fields, etc until those two rows from desktop show up and see if you can work it out.

Report Output is not same as R/3 4.7 and ECC6 ( sort issue)

I have a problem with external sort used in the program. due to that report output records are not in the same order.
For example, i am extracting data from BSEG with fields company code, fiscal year, document no, item no, amount and GL Respectively.
in both the systems (R/3 4.7 and ECC6), data in internal tables are in same order by default.
but after the external sort using filelds company code, fiscal year and document no.
output records are sorted exactly with respect to the external sort order in both systems, but for certain line items are not in same order.

The order of extracted records can no be assumed to be constant, any SQL optimizer can change behavior, even without any wide upgrade, but a single database or kernel patch as well as many operation of database administrator can change the order, as well as a change of user behavior, if they fill now another field in selection. So it is good practices to always sort (or use sorted type) internal table extracted or use a ORDER BY clause (provided there is an index in database, else do not)

The order of the rows in the result set refers to all columns that are not listed after ORDER BY, is undefined, and can be different in repeated executions of the same SELECT statement.
There are also some [MANY > 1000] OSS notes on the subject (look for your database, e.g. 1858427 - Incorrect Sorting of SQL-Select Statement, 1859655 - The result set of an SQL-Select Statement may not be sorted, 1858479 - Result set of select statement is not sorted, 1858569 - Incorrect access to result set of SELECT statement, etc.)
Also if you sort an internal table and require records with same key values to keep their respective order, use the STABLE clause.

Report output getting truncated in email attachment

Hello Gurus,
My requirement is to send a report output as an email attachment.
I have done the coding for this but have a small problem. In the attachment the report is getting truncated after certain length.

    Can you please let me know is the ERMS configured in your system or you are sending
    the mail to the customer using Action Profiles. If you are sending the mail using a smartform
    assigned to an Action profile then you can display that report internal table data or etc.. in
     the smartform itself so that the output data will be available in the e-mail body itself.
    Please let me know the way you are sending the e-mail if the above ones are incorrect.

Output mismatch between BEx query output and WebI Report output

Hi All,
I have a BEx query in which there are only characteristics placed in rows.
There are combinations of the values of the characteristics giving different records in the query output.
Date is one of the characterisctics in the query output.
There is an output mismatch between the query output and the WebI report output in the following case:
When there are 'Not Assigned' or '#' or blank values, there are additional entries(rows) in the WebI report, giving repeating or wrong entries in the Date field. This is incorrect data.
Is this because of the 'Not Assigned' or '#' or blank values of the Characteristics or is there any other reason?
How do I fix this?

I need to verify the WebI report output for records with # and 'Not assigned' values for the cHracteristics in the report.
So I cannot check the WebI report by hiding the # or Not assigned values.
The problem is that in the Query output the records are like these shown below:

Incorrect generator output for MSWIN1251

I'm trying to show both Latin and Cyrillic
characters in a report. Our server
character set is AT24UTFFSS (unicode 1.1),
client is American...unicode. I inserted
some Cyrillic strings, and get more-or-less
gobbledygook back.
For example, I inserted "e kratkaye, ef, ya".
Viewing with Netscape 4.6, I see "e kratkaye,
right-double-quote" with no third character.
PDF and RTF output show the same. (And yes,
I have set Netscape to show the output in MSWIN1251.)
I claim a generator bug because I dumped the
column (DUMP(column, 1016)) and saw exactly
the expected Unicode (d0, 99, d0, a4, d0,
af). I also dumped the result of my
CONVERT(column, 'CL8MSWIN1251') and saw the
expected MSWIN 1251 bytes (c9, d4, df). But
when I looked at the HTML (and PDF/RTF) from
the Report Generator, there was only c9, 94.
So either the R.G. is generating bad output,
or I'm completely confused which is also
quite possible.
Reports 6.0 with Oracle 8.1.5 (6?), BTW.
Any ideas? Bug fixes, go to 6i? Thanks.

Some things to check
1. Is the platform you're viewing the
report output on capable of viewing
Unicode output?Don't know for sure about Unicode. MSWIn
and Netscape claim they do, but I have no
way to generate it other than manually.
When I try to display the raw Unicode, I
don't see it correctly, IIRC.
However, since I'm trying to display
MSWIN1251 not Unicode...?
2. Does the font you're trying to disply
the report output in contain those
characters?Well, yes. As I said originally, when I
manually inserted the octal MS1251 codes
into the bad html file, voila, all three
characters appeared correctly.
3. Is that font installed on the machine
you're trying to display the report Yes. (Server is Solaris, Cyrillic N/A
there. Desktop is Windows, can see 1251
there.)
Currently PDF fonts are not embedded The PDF output has the same issue with
one correct, one incorrect, and one
missing character. That the PDF doesn't
say what font so I see 8859-1 is also an
issue.
4. Verify that the browser is really
changed to the correct character set -
in HTML, you send a META tag in the html
page header to change character set.Hmm. I've been changing manually
(view/character set/windows-1251). I'll
look at the demos.
5. Try running the Reports server with
the MSWIN1251 character set so that
IT performs conversion and verify that
the output is now correctly produced. The Forms server with Jinitiator is
supposedly set up for American Unicode and
it displays input 1251 characters
correctly, even on requery. Not sure why.
I'll see what we can do about the char set,
have to work with admins.

BI Report output appear wider than normal

Hi,
We upgraded the BI system from BI 7.0 to BI 7.1. After upgrading the BI development system, we found some changes in the Web report output. One of them is below:
The columns (all columns, char and key figure) appear wider than normal. So we are wasting lot of space in the report. Is there any setting on the web template, or elsewhere, to u2018auto sizeu2019 the columns?

Altering report output - pre-rendering

Hi there
Due to circumstances beyond our control (I'm not going into it at this point), I am required to alter report output data prior to it being rendered.
This is semi-possible using JavaScript.
However, as succesful as the JavaScript is, it isn't run when, for example, the report is downloaded to Excel ... this means our users are shown the correct version of the data in the web template, but if they choose to download to Excel, get another (incorrect) version.
Is there not something else I could be doing to manipulate this data ... previous systems had the table interface class, where I could write ABAP code to manipulate the data, but that's not available in 2004s.
I was wondering if there aren't some Java areas that I can try poking around in, or is there absolutely no way to achieve this.
Please don't come back and tell me to change the query ... we have sat with SAP and they acknowledge a fault on their side which makes the data incorrect.

Change order of key figure is not working in Web report output (using WAD)

Hi,
We are using BI 7.0, release 701 and level 008. We are facing problem in WAD (web report output). When ever we do 'Select filter' for key figures and 'change the order' of key figures, it does not get reflected in new order. Though drag and drop of key figures is working.
Though same change order is working fine in Bex Analyser.
Kindly suggest some inputs.

How To Restrict Number Of Rows For Multiple Group In Report Output

I have a requirement to restrict number of rows in report output.I have three different group , if i use same no of rows to restrict then output is as expected but if i want Deduction group should have 7 rows , earning should have 5 rows and Tax group have 3 rows in report output then XML tag is not working.

variable lpp2 is declare to restrict EarTaxLines -
<xsl:variable name="lpp2" select="number(2)"/>
This will help to restrict the no of rows on one page , if we have more then two tax benefits line then layout will roll over to continuation page.
As part of report output my expectation is if i restrict Earning , Deduction and Tax benefits to same no of line for example - variable lpp ,lpp1 and lpp2 have same value "number(2)" , we can see the layout is continue on next page (restrict every group can have max two lines) .This is the reason we have 4 header grid , deduction and Tax Benefit lines are rolled over to continuation page .But if we restrict different value for each variable then continuation page layout is missing .
When we tried for <xsl:variable name="lpp2" select="number(3)"/> value continuation page layout is not getting generate for both employee number .

Intermittent Blank Rows coming in BI Publisher Report output

Hi,
We are working on a BI Publisher report output.
Issue
The report sometimes creates a blank row along with the headings of the report columns. Table has multiple records and between 2 records we have a data being displayed which is optional. When this record is null, it is creating an extra space and hence creating a new page with the headers and a blank row.
Reducing the space is one issue we have thought of. Are there any other pointers to this.

I did not got the complete thing but as you told you need to remove the blank space in the report and at the same you told when a column returns null the row get displayed as blank row.
Then can you try using the Conditional region so that when ever you find the column value as null so you can hide that row.
Just try it i donot no if your requirement is exactly like this or what.

ABAP Dump while Changing the Layout fields in Report output - RCOPCA02

I Copied the Standard Program RCOPCA02 to ZRCOPCA02. I added two new fields(AUART, AUGRU) in the report output. It is executing correctly with default layout, While Changing the layout for displaying new fields it is dumping.

You are right, problem is with Field Catalog...
When I use FM 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY' it is dumping...
When i tried with FM 'REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY' it is working perfectly....
how can i use FM 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY' without dumping????
do i need to pass any thing in FM????

Send Vendor Balance confirmations report output (F.18) to External email ID

Dear Friends.
I have following requirement
Our Client requirement is to send Vendor Balance confirmations report output (Tcode F.18) to external email ID of vendor.
So please guide accordingly.
I have done BASIS Settings for SMTP (Tcode SCOT, RZ10) and Through SAP office using BASIS consultant and i can able to send sample test mail to external email ID through SAP Office (tcode SO00)
I will be thankful if anyone gives me exact solution.

Hi,
You can craete Background Job and send Mail.
e.g.
Goto->SM36->JOBWIZARD ( Create the Job and specify the Spool List Recipients ).
After Creating the job.
Again SM36->Start Condition ( You can create here when to send the mail ).
And Release it.
Be sure that your BASIS guy has done the required settings for Outgoing Mail.
Please check in SCOT.
